This is an historic building within the ancient walls of the city. Therefore, driving there can be difficult. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bathroom has been modernized, but the rooms are old and historic.

This is an old hotel that has seen better days. It would have been a majestic building back in the day, but for modern day comfort, it has some work to do. I can totally understand people coming here for nostalgic reasons, but the bed amongst other facilities are quite dated. The staff are friendly and helpful, but the parking for the hotel which is literally in a narrow alley (with extremely limited spaces) is quite challenging.

Absolutely stunning

This is an excellent boutique hotel!
It is small with only 8 rooms of different sizes ranging from the executive suite to the standard room.
Very personalised service from check-in to dining.
It also has an excellent view of Bursa depending on which facing room you book.
The only challenge is getting to the hotel from the main road. It requires climbing zillions of stairs….hit the gym before booking😂

Charismatic hotel within the castle

The property was very well situated and really comfortable with a lovely ambiance. Staff were friendly and so helpful. Dinner in the evening was in the garden and excellent as was breakfast the following day. we would definitely stay here again if we were to visit Bursa gain

It’s a Great hotel in the old town Bursa, very beautiful and Close to everything. The bed was confortable, really great mattress, clean bathroom and nice gifts from hotel, little things who make the difference. Shabby and chic! They have a wonderful backyard,a charming place for the restaurant. Breakfast was very good! And the service was really stylish! Everyone was helpful and nice, all we can say is CONGRATULATIONS!

Repast in the Secret Gardens of Bursa

This hotel is a rare gem with a Secret Garden. It is an old world mansion with a walled garden in the back. The place is quiet, laid back and walking distance to everything. The walled garden was the treasure for a cool beer in the hot afternoon or tea. For breakfast the hotel head waiter prepared a masterpiece with apricots, walnuts, special breads, coffee, jams, juices. He went out of his way to create something more delightful than a meal. This is an old beautiful home worth the stay if you are traveling to Bursa for any reason. You will not be disappointed.

Great character in an historic home

Small boutique hotel in historic house perched on Bursa city walls.Very central to historic Bursa (which is stretches over a considerable distance). Very comfortable room with good shower. Breakfast served in secluded garden at back of house. the hotel also provides a quality dining experience in the evenings and I would recommend eating here for the service and quality of the food. There is music played in the garden until late but, I found this relaxing rather than intrusive. Well worth a stay!

Nice concept, nice people. But room is not comfortable, and a bit worn down. Still a good option as compared to run of the mill known brands and would stay there again only if i had enough space to sit in the toilet. Perhaps another room. Overall definitely over-priced but not too over-done

A nice hotel only minutes from the heart of Bursa

We spent two nights at the Kitapevi in Bursa. We were quite pleased with the hotel, its restaurant, and its location. The hotel staff were welcoming and quite helpful. The hotel restaurant was also quite good. Parking is a problem in Bursa. Even though I was prepared to find municipal parking, the hotel helped me find a nearby place to park.

Beautiful hotel in a great city

Lovely old hotel on the city wall. Easy walking to center of the city. Bursa is also a very beautiful leafy green city with an interesting history and beautiful historic buildings. Hotel staff were so helpful with bookings, a free transfer to the Istanbul ferry, local information and all very friendly.

the owners and staff are very nice and friendly there. They offer you pickups from and to the ferry dock which saves you a lot of troubles trying to find the place. My hotel room is classy and comfortable and the garden of the hotel is really pretty and relaxing. I love the lady owner cause she is such a fun person to talk to!

Very good hotel- except for one room

The hotel is in a beautiful and central area of Bursa. The hotel did provide free pickup from Mudanya, where we arrived from Istanbul by fast ferry.
My reservation was for 4 nights. Two of which were at room No. 4, which is on the same floor as the reception desk. I felt little to no privacy as the room is so close to the reception area (you can see the reception desk from your bed if the door is open) and the windows are so close to the street level so a passerby can easily see what's going on inside with little effort. I had several problems with the sink (not draining or leaking) in the bathroom. I didn't like the room and requested to change it, which happened 1 night later.
The next room I got was No. 6 which was right next to the old one. This room felt like it's almost at a different hotel. It's the same grade but is much nicer. With a bit more privacy and a much better bathroom, we were feeling very comfortable. The room overlooks the garden.
The hotel serves an excellent breakfast. It has a very nice garden, the jasmine aroma and the birds singing there were things we'll always remember.
I would like to extend my thanks to Mr Talaat and Ms Toba - I'm sorry if I misspelled the names - for their hospitality and customer service. They are very courteous and friendly and we are grateful for their help.
PS: the hotel has a suite upstairs that's REALLY nice, has probably one of the best views of Bursa and a beautiful and spacious balcony decorated with nice plants.

Lovely Boutique Hotel

Such attention to detail at the Kitap Evi. The rooms are flawlessly decorated, the linens are clean and soft and the mattresses feel like you are sleeping on a cloud. We have traveled all over Turkey and the majority of hotels we stay at (no matter how many stars) have hard-as-rock mattresses. We stayed in a Junior Suite at the Kitap Evi. The hotel is situated on the walls of the old castle with a wonderful view of the Uludag and the city itself. It was quite at night which is a huge huge plus. We were running late from spending too much time at a hamam on the day of our departure and they gave us late checkout as well as a lovely late breakfast. We look forward to staying here again.

We even had help in backing our car out of the parking space!
The room was one of loveliest in which we have stayed in our travels and the view of Bursa was spectacular. We hope to visit again and a stay at the Kitapevi would be essential.

Amazing hotel

The hotel in itself is beautiful and its very near to a lot of attractions. However, the climb up back to the hotel would be challenging for older people (about 100 steps). My mom finds it was the only thing she finds it hard for the hotel. However, the hotel is amazing at making arrangements for pick up right next to the hotel so that she doesn't have to climb the stairs so that was amazing. P/s: to the bookworms, Kitapevi has some good books and I read a jewel there.

Lovely homely hotel with a fantastic location

5 minute walking distance to the covered bazaar, bus 1 minute walk, restaurants accross the street! The hotel itself has 11 rooms, each one has a different theme. We stayed in the top room with a terrace and fire place, which we enjoyed tremendously. We also had another room in the bottom of the building with a private Turkish bath and Hammad which was perfect but a bit noisy at night as it was below the restaurant. Breakfast was homemade and lovely and all the staff made us feel so welcome! Can't wait to go back!!

Historic Bursa

A wonderful hotel in a fantastic city. We wanted to explore the historic sites of this ancient Ottoman capital and the hotel provided a perfect vantage point on an old fortification rampart with clear views over the city and Ulu Dag. We had a beautiful room with all facilities in true Ottoman style. The staff were just great and the breakfast indulgent. there is a gorgeous garden and spa but we did not have enough time to use them. Most sites were easily walkable from the hotel including Ulu Cami and Yesil Cami etc etc....and ofcourse shopping in the closed bazaar. Public transport very easy to reach and use. Want to return to explore the mountain......

..... wonderful small hotel; gorgeous view from attic room; we stayed here twice with our children. Beautiful, romantic courtyard, very very helpful staff, refreshing welcome; very nice dinner and excellent breakfast. The hotel is small and not very easy to find (the GPS of our car had some problems, but with the help of friendly young men in the neighborhood we managed) but the location is great to explore Bursa. Fabulous hotel - the best we stayed in Turkey!

A great place to stay in Bursa ,which is also a really good place to be in if you have stayed in Istanbul.
Reception at the hotel one of the best we have experienced.Extremely helpful and made the
effort to tel us about the hotel history.
Location is marvellous and fantastic views over the Bursa Plains.
Restaurant very good if you haven't energy to go out at night and service top class.Breakfasts excellent and ample also and there is a lovely /sitting out/eating out garden area.

Charming hotel in an old Ottoman house

I had a lovely light room on the first floor, overlooking the city. Staff were welcoming and helpful. There is a beautiful walled garden for eating meals or just relaxing. The main sights of Bursa are within walking distance, though it is quite a steep walk up back up again (I have a dodgy hip, it should not be a problem for the young/fit). The old city is interesting, and quiet and hassle free compared with Istanbul. As an added bonus the hotel offers free transfers from the Istanbul ferry, a 30-45 minute drive. This makes it very good value for money. My only tiny gripe is that it would have been nice to see some Turkish specialities on the menu. The food was good, especially breakfast.

Classic Boutique Hotel...

I really enjoyed my stay. It was a little tricky to find, with it being on the edge of the hill overlooking Bursa. It is right next to a large staircase to the street at the bottom of the hill. It is vehicle accessible via a single very small street, so I don't know where you would park if you had a car. The hotel is very cute, clean, and the wireless connection was very fast. The cafe (for the included breakfast) is very cute as well. The staff was very friendly and courteous.

Highly recommended as a side trip from Istanbul, or if you can afford it travelling through (cost is the same as much more dissapointing places in Istanbul)

Fabulous location making all the key sites within 1km of you. Great atmosphere; very good food; good service with sufficient English speakers around. Parking can be challenging as the area close to the hotel is in small streets. I stayed facing the quiet garden but I can imagine the front facing rooms may be noisier as they are above a busy street in gorge below, and also local youth haunt on city wall battlements.

フロントスタッフに英語は通じません。
送迎サービスをメールで連絡しましたが　返事が来なくて
前日まで宿泊していたホテルのフロントの方に電話してもらいました。帰りのタクシーも頼んでいましたが　フロントに伝わっていなくて　当日　電話で頼むという有様でした。
このホテルは宿泊よりレストランに力を入れているようでした。

Yıldönümümüz dolayısıyla traditional suitte 1 gece konakladık. Aynı zamanda restaurantında da yemek yedik. Her şey mükemmeldi. Odamız genişti, otantikliği çok hoştu. Hamamı olmasından ötürü -1. Kattaydı fakat üzeri yansıtmalı ayna ile örtülü balkon detayı ile asla basık hissettirmedi. Çok hoşuma gitti. Oda tertemizdi ve şampuanından sabununa suyundan havlusuna her şey eksiksizdi ve ponza taşı kese bile hediye olarak konulmuştu. Biz hamamdaki havuzu jakuzi gibi kullandık. İnanılmaz rahatlatıcıydı. Sıcak su boldu hiç sorun yaşamadık. Oda servisi 7/24 açıktı ve çok ilgiliydiler. Restaurantına gelecek olursam biz kitap evi şef steak ve yunan salatası tercih ettik. Porsiyonlar büyük, doyurucu ve çok lezzetliydi. Etin sosuna bayıldım. Meyve kahve ikramları da oldu. Garsonlar çok ilgiliydi. Sabahki kahvaltı da çeşit boldu ve çok lezzetliydi. Otelin konumu çok güzel, bahçesi bol yeşillikli ve otantik olmasıyla çok çok hoşumuza gitti. Ellerinize emeğinize sağlık. Kesinlikle bir daha geleceğiz. Gözünüz kapalı tercih edebilirsiniz.
