The room was very clean. The staff was competent and polite. The hallways are wide.
The outside building walls have a dirty look and the hotel is quite dated on the inside-worn carpeting, dated decor. There are certain amenities I appreciate that were not available to me: no iron and iron board…I do not like hairdryers where I have to continuously press a bottom for it to operate.
The location is excellent, but the hotel does not feel like home.

This is a good hotel in an excellent location. The room was spacious and clean, but somewhat dated and worn. The staff was efficient, but not warm and friendly like in the other Italian hotels where we stayed. We didn’t have that “home away from home” feel at this hotel, but we felt safe, and had everything we needed.

The room was large and so was the bathroom. Nice kidney bath. Clean. The room was well equipped. Comfortable sofa, plus table and chair. The only negative of the room was that the air conditioning is turned off on 1st October and the room was hot, but the windows did open, but it was too warm when going to sleep.

Some areas of the hotel corridors were showing signs of age and could do with upgrading.

The breakfast was good (buffet). Service for breakfast was pleasant and the service during the day either in the dining area or in the outdoor garden area was pleasant and efficient.

Location is very good. Easy walking into the main attractions of historic Bologna. The only problem is that new tram tracks are being built. The road is completely barriered off. There are some crossing points for pedestrians, but on arrival by taxi, they have to drop you on the busy main road, and you then walk to the hotel (not very far). Plenty of shops of all descriptions nearby. 10 minutes walk to the central train station.

I would stay here again.

Our room keys didn’t work repeatedly. The staff indicated it was our phones being next to the cards but we did not have the phones next to the cards. The staff were dismissive.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights, and here’s my brief summary:

Pros:
The management agreed to move us to a larger room on a higher floor, which we appreciated.

Cons:
Unfortunately, the new room turned out to be the noisiest in the entire building, located at a corner facing ongoing road construction that ran daily from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The shower pressure was very weak, and the water temperature fluctuated constantly.

When a hotel or its surroundings are under construction, Expedia should consider lowering the star rating to reflect the major inconvenience this causes to guests.

This hotel is in a fantastic location but because of the construction work for the new tram system you are in the middle of a construction site, so it is noisy and dusty during the day. Also the main attraction of this location, i.e. the collonades are just hot noisy crowded tunnels which defeat the object of their purpose, such a shame !

Since travelling quite a bit around northern Italy and enjoying the many sights, I must say that this hotel was superb. A real respite from so much walking and walking. Cool comfortable sheets and fluffy pillows. A sigh of relief after a v long day.

Great hotel in ideal location, midway between the train station and city centre in Bologna. (5-10 minutes walk either way). The breakfast was good with plenty of selection, so couldn’t really fault.
Only negative was the lack of drinks service in the terrace and the drinks being a bit pricey, but that’s hotel pricing.

Overall this was a very nice hotel and we had a pleasant stay. Every staff member that we spoke to was very nice and helpful with any question that we had. They all spoke very good English and were polite with my terrible Italian. :)
Raquela at the front tlesk in the mornings had AMAZING restaurant recommendations. Marissa, at the front desk in the evenings, was not only nice and helpful but also remembered my wife and I by name after only one day.
While the first room we received had an air conditioning unit that did not work and needed some repairs, the staff was quick to send someone to check it out and then quick to give us a different room.
I will personally plan to stay here on my next visit to Bologna.

The hotel is rated a 4 star but our experience there did not indicate that. Extremely outdated, carpet in terrible shape, bathroom fixtures rotting, dirty walls, broken elevator button, etc... Plus noisy construction immediately outside hotel. Unable to speak to manager to address my concerns. Manager would not come out to speak to us. Do not recommend!!!

Hotel very nice. Bed was King sized and comfy. About a 15 minute walk from the train station. We did not do the breakfast so I can not comment on that. They let us store our bags before and after check out, which was very convenient. Checking was very easily and efficient. The only complaint I had was the lack of water pressure in our shower. The sink’s pressure was fine but in the shower the water came out in little drops.
