First room was quite noisy, was able to change rooms to a much quiter location.
Breakfast was varied and filling.
Location is great, multiple restaurants and few minutes to Bayswater tube stop.

Hotel accomodation OK and as expected. However, we chose the hotel partly because it had a bar. Upon arrival we were informed the bar opens at 4pm each afternoon and stays open until late. Thus we headed in to London and returned for 8pm to chill and have a few drinks in the bar. Upon return, we were informed the management had decided not to open the bar for reasons unknown.We were then promised bar would be open the next night. Similar story the next day with bar shut again! Very very disappointing and not at the satisfaction level I have come go expect from Expedia. Please could you look in to this on our be
half?

We had a great stay! The room was always clean and the staff was super helpful and friendly. My only complaint is that the breakfast is a bit simple with no hot food. We had a fantastic stay otherwise! I also like how close you are to different tube stations and the neighborhood is so charming.

I can’t believe how uncomfortable my stay was. It was 5 degrees outside in November, yet my room felt like it was in the middle of summer. And the worst part? There was no actual thermostat. Just an old, outdated control unit that didn’t do anything. Huge red flag.

I tried everything, opening the windows, fiddling with the old panel— but the room stayed insanely hot. Sleeping was nearly impossible.

This was a really disappointing experience, and until they update their HVAC system so guests can control their own room temperature, I definitely won’t be back.

This Hotel was in a great location to the Tube and it was also very walkable through Kensington Park. The room was very clean and comfortable. The included breakfast was very good. We had a daily cleaning service for our room. I would highly recommend The Phoenix Hotel for a stay in London.

Reception entrance is very modern and stylish. My room was ok but very hot and humid in the evening. I had a fan but it wasn’t working properly so they replaced it with an old school van and it was a lot better. The lift was very slow and took too long to come. Breakfast options were ok, could be better. Was abit of a pain to get an uber to my locations, but I suppose that was because it was during the carnival period.

I don't often leave negative reviews but unfortunately this was one of the poorest hotel experiences I've had in some time. First, our room on the second floor was exceedingly and uncomfortably hot. Despite the fact that the temperature outside in the city was actually pleasantly cool for most of our stay, the room itself, with no AC, windows that only opened about 2 inches and only a very basic fan provided, was very hot. There was also no fridge in the room, so not even the possibility of storing some bottles of water at a cold temperature. In fairness, the hotel does not advertise that it has AC, and we should have probably checked before booking, but it also should not have been necessary in relation to the weather outside. Notably, the ground floor and reception areas appear to have AC, but not the rooms. The water also had a strange quality whereby soap would never completely rince out, which was really unpleasant. The wifi also kept disconnecting, such that you had to reconnect every day in order not to accidentally use all your data. When it did work it was decent though. Location was convenient and quiet. Breakfast was decent but nothing special. Staff were not particularly warm and approable, but did offer helpful assistance when asked. All in all, okay stay, but uncomfortable for the price paid. We were relieved to be going home when we left!

This hotel has no A/C so the room can be brutal in the summer. The room itself was 35c+ making it very hard to sleep. There was only one small fan to help. I would go outside to cool down.
This hotel is in good location so may be worthwhile outside of summer time, but would not advise booking in summer.
The breakfast is basic but fine and the staff was very kind.

The hotel is in a great area. The staff is excellent. The rooms are very small without air conditioning. We were there during a heatwave and had to check out after 2 nights. It was very uncomfortable in the room. The bed wasn't comfortable, very hard. The bathroom is small with only a small shelf above the sink. There's no fridge. The price of the room is too much for what you get. We paid less for a much bigger room with a/c, fridge and more amenities in a good location. They should invest in some portable a/c units and a fridge.

Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Room size was good. They offer breakfast, which is nice. Convenient location, easy walk to food, shops, Underground station, and other nearby places.

The only thing I didn’t like, was the room didn’t have A/C. It was very hot and stuffy. They do have standing fans in the room, and with the windows open, it cools off enough at night.

Great location for easy access to tube etc. Really clean and comfortable. Breakfast is fine if you like continental, good choice and nice fresh pastries etc. Very peculiar that you cannot get any normal terrestrial channels on tv. And the room is incredibly hot in summer and no air con. Acknowledge that there was a heat wave when we were there but because you can’t open the window wide, the heat was insane. Otherwise, lovely place to stay with very efficient and polite staff.

Great safe area for a solo traveler.
The room was a great size. There was no AC but the weather was incredible so I just needed the fan.
I loved the breakfast. Lots of options.
You can easily stow your luggage until check in.
You are right down the street from bayswater and Queensway underground. Super great area. Lots of restaurant options around. I really enjoyed my stay here.

Very convenient location a short walk to trains. The room was very small with no air conditioning and a small heater that did not ever go on. A desk fan was provided along with bath gel and shampoo. There was also a window that could be opened for fresh air. Staff was friendly.

Stayed only 1 night in a basic room on the ground floor. The room reeked of smoke immediately. There was no central heating unit. The room included a tower fan but it was filled with dust and seemed to not been cleaned for a while. One of the bath towels was smeared with a brownish stain. The toilet paper holder was placed in the most awkward space; high above the shoulder when seated on the toilet. Couldn’t even have a proper shower since it was uncontrollably scalding hot. The best thing was that the wifi was fast. It’s possible that the rooms on the higher floors are better maintained but overall wouldn’t recommend even though it’s in a quiet neighbourhood and budget friendly.

Really nice hotel close to the HydePark, so if you like morning runs, this location is perfect.
A lot of dining options around. Close to two subway stations and to Paddington train station (where you can jump on the Elisabeth line that will take you to the airport). Staff really friendly and helpful (free deposit boxes at the reception). Room nice, warm and cozy. Small but you have everything you need in it. Good breakfast. I recommend this hotel for a short to medium length stay.

I don’t usually give bad reviews but the room I stayed in B2 was downstairs and had a really musty smell. Turned out this transferred on to all my clothes, suit, coat, trainers and everything I had in suitcase had to be washed /dry cleaned to get rid of the smell.

The room I stayed in was comfortable but quite small. The bathroom was a tight squeeze for me (at 5 foot), so be aware of this if you are tall or somewhat heavy. On the plus side, the breakfast was part of the room price, so no need to head out early to find something to eat. The location is less than a 5 minute walk from a variety of restaurants and food shops. And there are 2 tube stations and a bus line less than 10 minutes away.

I've never seen a bathroom that small. I could sit on the toilet with both shoulders touching the walls beside me. I was in room 114, and the bathroom was smaller than the shower in other hotels. My shower was so small i could barely wash my legs and feet. I'm 6'5'' and the bathroom door is about 6'2''. Watch your head! The bed was smaller than a twin in the US. But the breakfast was edible and the deli meats made it better. The Phoenix is near the Bayswater tube station in a good area near Notting Hill. I got a good deal, so i can't complain too much, but that room was way too small. My friend stayed in a different room with a slightly bigger bathroom. I would consider staying there again, but never in room 114.

In a quiet but great location, the Phoenix Hotel offers comfort at an affordable price. The single bedroom, although small was great for a couple of nights. The continental breakfast was very good. The staff were outstanding in their manner and care towards their guests different needs.

Really enjoyed my stay at the Phoenix Hotel. It was clean, quiet, in an excellent location and breakfast was great. The shower was strong and hot. Tea, coffee and biscuits in the room were also good. I was on my own and the room and bathroom were ample for me. Had I stayed with my partner, I would have found the room and bathroom a little cosy.

I had an unfortunate medical emergency while staying at the Phoenix Hotel. The staff was very quick to come to my aid which relaxed me. I felt like I was with family. They got me to the hospital where I am now recovering. The hotel is saving me a room where I can recover for the next few days before my flight back to America. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone. This is my third stay there and every time has been outstanding.

Lovely scenic, quiet area within 2 mins walk of plenty of restaurants and pubs etc.
Hotel staff friendly and efficient, breakfast was lovely (a lot of selection for a continental, including Douwe Egbert coffee machine).
Only recommendation is to improve eco side - remove single use plastics (toiletries) and individual coffee packets from rooms.

My room was ready early, which was great. Reception staff were nice and there was no charge to store luggage before checkin or after checkout. I was in a single, which was a tight fit but had everything I needed. It was an economical use of space. The room seemed to have been renovated recently and everything was clean and new. There were some oddities in the bathroom: the shower controls were so fancy, they weren’t labeled, so I spent 5 minutes trying to figure out which directions were hot and cold. Shower door already didn’t seal properly. The faucet wasn’t big enough for the sink so it was hard to wash my hands. The mattress felt a bit old and stiff but was otherwise comfortable. Window opened a decent amount for some fresh air. I got free breakfast with my booking. Convenient walking distance from a couple Tube stops. I had a nice stay.

The location was excellent. Easy two block walk to the Bayswater tube station on the circle line. Easy to hail a cab. Many great restaurants and shops in easy walking distance.

The rooms were very clean though the beds were very hard. I asked about changing rooms to get a different bed and was given a mattress topper, which helped slightly.

Breakfast was great. It's optional but worh it.

Stayed here many times, it's an excellent hotel. Special mention goes to the cleaning team, I've never once thought anything except \"spotless\". Even the small rooms have most of the amenities you need - and you have to love the UK for kettle + tea + coffee + biscuits :) Always nice when you come in from a very long day walking around London.
