I always had a great experience staying here at Acacia Tree Garden Hotel in Puerto Princesa Palawan, I started staying here since the year 2013 when my whole family from United States had our first family vacation to Philippines. Acacia maintained everything what every guests are looking for from courteous staff to hotel cleanliness and first class service. It has been 13 years and I kept on choosing Acacia Hotel to be my accommodation everytime I visit the country. Highly recommended.

Horrible hotel i've ever been

not happy for it dirty bedroom ,tv doesn't work aircon is very noisy,outside is luck of maintenance ,pool is very dirty that's why we didn't use the pool the only thing i like is the front desk staff ,some of the kitchen staff & the worst thing is one of the maintainance crew is rude i hate it the most , i never recommend this hotel it is old & dirty,they are only good on pictures but it is very far from the reality

Average hotel. I booked it because of the hottub but of course it did not work. They charge 35 pesos for a very small bucket of ice. There food is very pricey. Staff is hit and misd, sometimes nice and sometimes not. Once its your day to checkout the staff true colors come out. Very rude people. No thank you for you stay, safe travels or even a goodbye. I would not wasted your money and stay here. It is not close to anything and over priced for what you get

Pay a little more and avoid this hotel

I dont understand how anyone can give this property better than 3 points. It is Not located anywhere near any stores, restaurants, the pool is constantly dirty with leaves and debris, the food is expensive for Philippines and the quality they provide, and they make you responsible for anything out of order in the unit. I had to pay for a glass table top we didn't even use or noticed until they made me pay for it. They almost made me loose my flight while Inspecting room. Extremely embarrassing and unprofessional. I am a world traveler and Never encountered a hotel to treat guests this way. Do not recommend at any price.

Average hotel. Service of cafeteria staff excellent. Service and response from front desk and maintenance slow and sloppy. In bathroom the faucet was like a stick shift and toilet seat kept sliding. Informed front desk, told us in evening it was fixed but they still shook, rattled and rolled.

Whilst i love using Expedia due to its accurate representation of properties on this occasion we were vastly desillusioned. The property is not walking distance from close amenities in Puerto Princesa as stated. The internet connection was poor and intermittent. There was ongoing construction starting at 9 am right outside of our room and music playing loud until 11 pm. We raised matters upon arrival with manager Aida who did affirm that everything was walking distance but the rest of the staff confirmed the opposite . Aida explained that no cancellation was offered due to us booking through Expedia. The noise and inconvenient location pushed us to leave after two nights., we did ask for a change in room but were advised the hotel was fully booked. We mentioned to the staff we were departing due to the noise but they did not understand our English and replied with a polite: OK Ma'am thank you. I attempted to contact Expedia but had no phone access to report this asap. We would like to be reimbursed for the nights we did not stay: Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I thank you for taking my feedback into consideration.

Overall it was decent

Calm and peaceful. Rooms are spacious. Staff was very polite and helpful. Location was not so good for our kids to enjoy. All they had was a pool. So we did tours throughout our stay. No beach nearby. Beach is about an hour away.

Happy to stay here again good for a base in Palawan you can walk to the town not very far about 30 mins pretty safe apart from the la k of pavement! Great pool cheap food. Only down side was they had the telly on in the bar all the Time which sucked because it was so peaceful during the mornings and evenings the rare times it was off! Breakfast was good plenty of fruits pancakes etc oh and the cats! Don’t feed them or let them rub up against you they are covered in fleas!

I had a great stay here. Staff are absolutely wonderful and caring. Garden is great, pool looks clean and reasonable size, room is clean.
Downsides are: driveway too narrow, parking is limited and tight. Got bitten of mosquitos, thin walls.
Don’t expect too much in breakfast. Its complementary.

This hotel is nice for the price. I loved the pool and the staff were helpful. I did not like the beds. They were very firm and uncomfortable. The ac unit was in an awkward location so I could not feel the cold air. My bed sheets were not changed the entire time I stayed there. Over my stay at this place was okay... I wouldn’t stay here again. Also, breakfast really sucked.

Comfortable base to explore from

I stayed 4 nights. Acacia tree is a quiet spot to get your bearings in Puerto Princessa and plan your explorations from. Its relatively cool as the grounds are covered by trees or you can catch some sun around the pool. Many hours spent floating around in the pool. The staff are very helpful and can arrange tours, rental bikes etc.

Get Your Money's Worth!

Location: 10 mins CAR drive, 15-20 mins Trike drive. Far from Robinson, but closer to SM, SM is better place for shopping in my point of view.
Room: Cozy, quiet, only soap and shampoo.
Food: Service is fine, not the best but friendly. Speed is quite slow. Taste is good.
WIFI: No WiFi in room, and the connection is not stable.

Nice on photo but does not meet my expectation

I booked three rooms for my family of 15 people including kids. The a/c in room 23 was working great. However, the a/c in room 24 does not produced enough cool. Also, I was not aware that there is additional charge for additional person when the room I booked clearly states occupy 5 adults. Make your booking clearer. I will, however, give the staff 5 star for preparing our breakfast very early on 3/24/18 just so we can make it to the airport without missing out on our breakfast. Unfortunately, there is no water activities that his hotel offer. So, the place is quite boring. Luckily, my family managed to make the best of our stay there by going to town. I don't like the idea of paying a 1000 pesos deposit, which I forgot to collect when we left. Fortunately, one of the staff remembered last minute as we were leaving. The bed is hard, but big. The shower head need fixing. Overall, I probably wouldn't want to stay here again.

The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The garden and the pool area is a good place to relax but not well maintained. The umbrellas, close to the rooms, are very very durty, need to be change. there is not much to do in the surrounding but the place is nice. The meal a5 the restaurant is very good and at reasonable price.

Beautiful place, a bit secluded, great breakfast

The place is very beautiful, I particularly liked how the rooms are facing the swimming pool, we only stayed one night though. The room was clean, spacious and well-maintained. We had to pay for the bucket of ice for our drinks and the location is a bit far from the city center so it is not as accessible if you plan on staying for a couple of days the travel to and fro might be a hassle. Breakfast spread was great. Wish we had more time to eat unfortunately we had an early flight.

Great place to stay. Nice pool, killing smoothies and nice wide rooms. Breakfast is good also and the staff is very helpful. You can leave your luggage after check out and they offer a shower room and towels if you need to freshen up before your flight out. Tours are also well priced.

Quick overnight stay

Stayed overnight on my way to PB as I got into PPS in the early evening. Had informed reception earlier in the day of my arrival time (via email and phone) and confirmed the free airport shuttle to the accomodation. Waited at the airport for nearly 45 minutes and when I called them, it was only then that they informed that the shuttles don't run after 5pm... I was pretty annoyed as I could've taken the trike if I had known, but the lovely girl on the phone was very apologetic which I appreciated. So if you are arriving after 5pm, you need to organise your own transport. Other than that, it had a lovely atmosphere. Gutted I didn't have time to use the pool though, looked very inviting! Fairy lights were on, there is a pool table too. Food was good (breakfast was simple/continental if you don't upgrade for extra $) but that was my own choice and the sweet fresh fruits and toast were enough for me! Rooms were large and clean, there is hot water and power all day. Evening/graveyard shift staff and bartender were friendly and informative about rest of the island. It is a bit further from town (but close to airport) and there is an extra flat rate for your hotel pick up to your next destination (the helpful graveyard shift front desk organised a van that picked me up from Acacia and dropped me off at PB.) Can't comment on anymore though as I had a very short stay - good for a quick overnighter.

Disgusting. Ants all over the bathroom and bedroom. Shower head was so covered in mildew the water barely trickled out. Breakfast was terrible. By far the worst hotel of our trip. Only good thing was how close it was to the airport for our early morning flight the next day.

Awesome, magical, perfect!

Wonderful ambience at this lovely hotel that gives you the feeling of being in the rainforest, yet is just a few minutes away from the airport and shopping for anything you need. Six grand acacia trees and lush foliage and flowers grace the grounds around the pool and open dining and reception area as well as the rooms,and in the evening when the lanterns in the acacia trees are lit as well as other ground lighting the place is just magical. A beautiful place for couples or groups of friends to meet. There is a kiddie pool and play set that also makes it wonderful for families with young children to rest and recuperate from traveling. What they call a simple continental breakfast that comes with your booking is actually more than that with a made-to-order omelette station as well as coffee, bread, juice and brewed coffee. Fiipino breakfast is also available. We enjoyed other meals in the dining area as well, and all were very good - I especially enjoyed the tuna and vegetables grilled with lemon butter!

Truly outstanding! Absolutely the BEST in Puerto!

This place is a perfect respite from the noise and traffic of Puerto Princesa, yet minutes away from the airport, Baywalk, and shopping. Flowers, lush foliage, and 6 grand Acacia trees grace the grounds around the rooms, swimming pool and reception area, and after dark the lanterns in the trees make the place absolutely magical. The open air design of the dining room and reception area with game tables and comfortable seating is lovely, and the gentle breeze and aroma of flowers wafts through the place along with relaxing music, giving a lovely ambience. The staff is very welcoming and attentive and the food is very good and value priced. We ate most of our meals there. What the hotel calls a \"simple\" continental breakfast is actually quite substantial, with a made to order omelette station, as well as fruit, bread, coffee and juice. This place is perfect for couples, friends traveling together, or families with young children - as there is a kiddie pool plus a play area with a nice play set. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with a place to hang your wet clothes outside in the back of your room. They provide towels for the pool or for day trips like the island hopping trip we took, arranged by the hotel. Couldn't be a more perfect place to stay in Puerto Princesa, yet value priced!

We wanted 1 buffer day after our flight in to Palawan before we journied further into Sabang and truthfully I wish we had allotted ourselves more time to stay here another few nights. Great price. Highly recommended - a great option

What a fantastic little hotel! I've generally been a little disappointed with hotel value-for-money in Philippines, but this place is a gem. The room was lovely, spacious, comfortable, and I liked the stone floor style. Great pool in the middle, just outside my door. The restaurant was lovely, with tasty food at very reasonable prices. Attractive, well kept common areas, including sofas, a pool table, table football, and a dart board. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They took a cash security deposit on check-in but there were no issues in this being returned at the end of my stay. I would highly recommend, and would definitely stay here again. Thank you to the Acacia Tree team!

Nice wind-down before flying home

Acacia Tree was a nice, relaxing couple of days to wind down after our travels around North Palawan. The rooms are solidly built and this helps to keep the ambient noise levels - which can be pretty intrusive to a western ear - down, and the room sizes are generous and well air-conditioned with full mosquito netting on all windows. The staff were pleasant and we encountered no problems during our stay. The food was good if not outstanding although the inclusive breakfasts were a little meagre. The pool and garden area were clean and felt safe and secure. A free shuttle to and from the nearby airport was a bonus and I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to spend a couple of days in the Puerto Princesa are. My one complaint would be the use of the television within the bar and restaurant area while the ubiquitous background music was competing with it.

Good eating and Beautiful stay with hiccups

Warm and friendly greeting with a drink when I arrived at the hotel. They even accommodated my early check in request. The hotel is dated so keep this in mind and roll with the flow, after all you're on an island. The room had no towels and I told them this when I went to lunch and they said they would provide some. After dinner and no towels but a quick call to the front desk and they ran some over after that. The hot water pump in the bathroom wasn't working but they sent a technician over promptly to fix it. A few times they forgot to fix something in the room but again a reminder call had them at the door. They were very responsive to all requests with a smile and whatever issues came up they tried their best to fix promptly.

The hotel is really nice and cozy. The rooms are clean. The yard is well-maintained. The pool is clean. It's in a quiet neighborhood but close enough to the main drag (Rizal Ave.) and cheap laundry service. The hotel charges laundry by piece and outside it's by kilogram. We did a lot of walking when we stayed here. It's about 20 mins walk to Rizal Ave. tricycle can costs from P50 and upward depending how far down Rizal Ave you are going. Ask the front desk ladies for the going fare as some tricyle drivers will jack up the price with foreigners. The restaurant is pretty good. Great food and the servings are quite generous. I love their seafood tower.

The crocodile tour/irawan zip line/mitra ranch is only about 15-18 kms from this hotel. So if you can drive a motorbike, just rent one and do the tour yourself. There are free maps at the airport that can help you find these places. if you're going to see Bay Walk located at the opposite end of Rizal Avenue (from the airport), go in the evening as it is dead during the day. The Honda Bay tour is also not that far, we hired a tricyle for P500 round-trip to take us to where it is at. Then hired our own boat for P1500; that way we can explore the islands, swim, and snorkel on our own time. Just don't forget to tip the captain of the boat and his assistant as I was informed they only get 10% of that P1500. There are entrance fees to get into each island.
