I visited this hotel after visiting 5 other hotels. I was scouting gotels for an event I am hosting in November. This was the last, and it was the best. I enjoyed it so much that before I even left the hotel, I rented the entire place for our trip in November. They have been in contact with me to make sure everything is correct. This is the type of attention this place gives you.

This is one of the nicest place we have stayed at. You must book Villas they are huge and clean and fun. The staff is excellent and kind. The breakfast menu is ok. This is the place to book. Don’t think twice about it. Best value in the area.

The Astari property and its surroundings are just stunningly beautiful, relaxed and quiet. Among the craziness of many parts of Bali, this little oasis in Jimbaran was a wonderful
surprise and we were sad to leave. Within days, the incredibly friendly staff made us feel like family. After a few nights away in Ubud they had even decorated our room with flowers to welcome us \"home\". The rooms are spacious and clean and both the accommodation and the breakfast offerings are a bargain in this tropical jungle setting.

Absolutely loved the villa, ideal holiday accommodations.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming, nothing was an issue, including having our daily breakfast delivered promptly to our villa, hot and tasty.
The small 24hr shops were just a short walk and catered for all your needs and not to expensive.
Can't fault the villa and can't wait to return (didn't want to leave).
Will book this place again.

Fabulous, comfortable stay - such gracious staff

We enjoyed the Astari. It was spotlessly clean with well tended gardens and a pristine pool with loungers, always with a rolled towel on. The staff are very attentive and do whatever they can to make your stay comfortable (even found less-plump pillows for us) Breakfast offers a good variety. The complimentary 15 minute massage was excellent. The only downside to Astari is that it’s a bit outside Jimbaran - it’s a15 minute walk, but not a pleasant walk on a very busy road. As always there are taxis.

The staff were all very pleasant and helpful and they were happy to let me stay in the villa all day even though I didn't need to leave for the airport until the evening. But the wifi wasn't very good - I had to keep logging in every five minutes or so on my iphone as I was logged out all the time and I couldn't stream programmes or download anything.

Very good service. Gave a free lift to the Police after I was robbed at the nearby go karting. Room was nice and breakfast was also good quality. They gave a 15 minute free massage which we didn't know about or pay for. The hotel is very isolated down two allys off the main road and not really located near anything. We hired a scooter as transport through the hotel which was very cheap as not much is within walking distance. Very quiet and nice resort, would stay again.

NIGHTMARE STAY NOT WORTH

WORST stay in Bali. Totally NOT WORTH! Sure, the management knew the villa got problem but still let customer stay in. No inter-telephone, no hot water through out the stay, black out in the middle of night(2:45am). No phone can't made complain, some more hide the broken phone outside outdoor living room cabinet (means purposely). No hot water for shower so no bath & can't enjoy/utilize private POOL in villa. Midnight blackout no electric no water, feel warm & wake up ahead long distance path to front desk for complain as no inter-phone to use. Easy solution for them, just told no technician to fix and no others villa to change for us. Force to stay in a broken Villa. Really a nightmare stay & spoiled our holiday mood even compensate food charges RP300k compare to RP1M over villa cost! Can't enjoy & utilize the facilities at all. Please, if want to do business, earn profit do it in a proper way!

The hotel is very far away from anything, a taxi is necessary to get anywhere. The road to the beach is unsafe to walk along (there are no pavements). The shuttle service is only one way and not particularly regular. The reception desk was only manned sporadically and the bar area was always deserted after breakfast. The breakfast was pleasant enough but there was no variety and items were rarely restocked when they had finished. The rooms were comfortable but the bathrooms needed refreshing. Our air con unit broke in the middle of our stay and staff were not overly helpful. 2 hours after they were informed of the issue, when I asked what was happening they had done nothing and we’re pretty unaware anything was wrong. We were moved to a twin room, which is not what we had booked and no real apology was made. I would not return and could not recommend this hotel to anyone else.

It’s really close to Jimbaran Bay, really clean and the staffs are really nice.
However, internet connection is really slow and often dropped off. I wish they also have high chairs for kids. And the breakfast buffet is really tasty but not many choices especially Indonesian cuisines.

cons: I requested via Expedia.ca a queen bed but there was none available so basically two single beds put together. It was sufficient for my 3.5 year old and myself. I don't think that the floor was ever washed because our feet were constantly black if we didn't don on socks or slippers. There was faulty wiring attached to one of the night stand lights and could have been a fire hazard. I did not bother to lodge a complaint but I was cautious when turning it on and off. Even though Wifi was free on the hotel property, it kept kicking you out and then you had to constantly log in and put your password in every time. Continental breakfast which was baked goods/cereal, coffee/tea, milk, juice and fruit since Expedia.ca did not have an option for American breakfast(baked goods/cereal, eggs, bacon/sausage) It was good for both of us but staff did offer eggs and bacon/sausage but for an added price.
Pros: 2 complimentary 15 min spa treatments since my reservation offered that so I was able to get a 15 min. foot massage and 15 min. back massage while lounging by the poolside. Communal pool literally outside your room and refreshing. This quaint little property is tucked away from the bustle of things so if you want a nice holiday without the noise and crowds, this is your place. Having said that, you will need transportation to get to restaurants, shopping and excursions. GRAB was the transport I used when I did not have my cousin to drive us around.

Pros:

2. Breakfast buffet included made to order eggs/omelette station which was much appreciated (we stayed at 5 different hotels during our trip to bali exploring different areas and this was the last stop and the only hotel that had made to order omelette station)
3. Price
4. Nice pool
5. Friendly staff
6. Provides motor bikes for rent to explore the area
7. Massage therapist was really good and did an awesome job. Though note that their prices (about $10+ for 30 minutes) are a little more expensive compared to other places in bali (usually about 5 bucks for 1 hour massage, but still cheap compared to american prices, $80+ for over 50 minutes.

Cons:
1. English from staff is good but could be better, one staff member in front desk couldnt understand me at times
2. Only 6 Pool chairs available for the whole hotel so only about 3 or 4 rooms out of the 12 or so total rooms can use the pool at one time which is unfortunate and inconvenient. They fill the rest of the space with tables for the restaurant, these tables can either be replaced with more pool chairs or at least can be removed after breakfast ends to accomodate another 4-5 more pool chairs
3. No shops/restaurants outside the immediate vicinity, would need to rent a motor bike to explore the area which they provide

Would still stay here again despite the few cons so i do recommend this hotel due to the overall value and price point.

Near Jimbaran Beach and the Rock Bar

The staff is very curtious helpful and nice. Although there were many couples staying here it was very nice to stay here with a baby. The pool gets good mid-day sun and there is a shuttle that will take you to Jimbaran beach and also Nusa Dua shopping center a couple of times a day. The breakfast has nice eggs made to order with bacon or sausage.

Nice hotel & convenient location

Friendly staff helped us check in late evening. We enjoyed the delicious buffet breakfast and location- close to Jimbaran Bay and easy access to Nusa Dua Beach. Beautiful property with pool & rooftop deck views. The Balinese massage was OK (I received a much better massage at a better price elsewhere.)

I had a spa on the last day ( massage, manicure , pedicure) and it was a joke, this cannot be called a spa, I sat on a so called chair without any back support and there was no air conditioning which made it very unpleasant, the treatment lady had to wipe her face from sweat every 2 minutes. A very bad experience which was quite expensive for what it was.

The Astari is in the quieter area of Jimbaran. Travelled as a family with our 1 year old and the private villa was perfect! We had the whole place to ourself . The villa boasted impressive landscape , a sizeable private pool , deckchairs , sepperate outdoor gazebo like living area and kitchen . It may seem like its in the middle of nowhere but its a 10 mins walk down to circle K , a convenient store , 10 mins drive down to Jimbaran Beach and GRAB service in Bali is pretty reliable.

Good hotel but the location is utterly poor, as you can't finding anything nearby. Generally, I wouldn't recommend Jimbaran except for beach dining -- it's a damn dry place if you are looking for a quiet stay out then you can consider this hotel. Staffs are very friendly, average breakfast

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Not too far of a walk (for us) to the beach and where the shops are, or can get a taxi for 20-30K if barter with them; or make use of the shutttle service the hotel provides 3 times a day (one way). Room was spacious however we booked because it said “kitchenette” which is just a sink, mini fridge and few cupboards. There was a sewage smell occasionally in the bathroom. The food (lunch and dinner) is average but breakfast is good. Staff are friendly. Trips/airport transfers can be booked with them but get the best prices from the people by the beach. This is more of a resort area of Bali & lots of stray dogs.
Main concern that the doors are very difficult to lock; many times it didn’t work. This would be something that needs addressing. Other than that we had a pleasant stay.

The area is off the map so the Uber’s has difficulty finding this location. I ordered a queen bed and got two twin beds with individual sheets and blanket. There was no linens provided to make it a queen bed. The beds were pushed together and frequently slid apart in the night. The air conditioning in the first room leaked horribly so they moved me rooms and then in the suite downstairs the same thing happened. The only solution was to turn the AC off. My first room has ants in the shower and the grout is pretty dirty. The breakfast isn’t anything to rave about... it’s an ok stay for the price.

To me they are overated as 4* villa/residence

I booked this hotel due to there is lot +feedback from review, well when i check in that is not as great as rated. To me issue below should not happen on a 4* villa:
1) internet server down and hotel no solution for guess. They can either give foc data sim card or other solution. They do hv 1unit broadband but upon the 4days i stay they claim the unit is with the guess who rent the most expensive room, so which mean i rent 2nd expensive villa is not important guess?

2)sofa and silling on bathroom with mouldy spot, water tap on hand basin is only water dripping like no water supply, the towel provided some yellowish spot, everyday when i back to my room is a must to see lizard poo on the bed linen (of course i need to clean it), the hotel info booklet in the room is loose and tear, fruit basket as welcome in the room is not fresh.

Well good things i can say is the villa is balinese style with own pool in front the bedroom and the bed is quite comfy. Less density hotel wont feel too crowdy. Hotel do provide foc shuttle to 3 place everyday (must book 1day earlier) but only 1 way trip, u need figure how to come back.

Horrible stay and amenities

We had a horrible stay at Astari and we would never recommend it to any one. Firstly they did not have queen bed for room despite booking it 3 months in advance. Secondly their wifi and internet was not working for our entire stay. Instead of compensating for lack of wifi, they just apologised and said nothing else. The complementary spa is only for 15 minutes, which is absolutely not worth it. On top pf that, their breakfast spread is limited. The only thing that helped us during the stay was the access of internet at the supermarket \"pepito express\" next door. If you plan to stay in Jimbaran, we would suggest you to not stay at The Astari Villa and Residences.

In spite of the bali eruption, these guys flatly refused to refund the money paid at the hotel.
I will recommend no one to book this hotel as Bali may encounter such things at any time and the hotel will not refund no matter what. Hence, it best to book other properties.

Nice and clean with lovely gardens.

We stayed in a one bedroom villa. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom massive. The pool was a great size too. The outdoor living space was nice but our lounge was missing the cushion (which may have been laying on the tiles but we werent sure if it was for the sunlounges).

Breakfast was nice however we ordered room service on one night and it was terrible. Satays overcooked and dry with satay sauce cold. Other food was cold and undercooked. Needless to say we ate out for dinner after this.

We didnt swim in the main pool but it looked nice.

We really enjoyed the area of this hotel (a quick 2 minute free shuttle to the beach and no traffic) and the pool. The staff are accommodating and kind and the food is good quality. A few things in the rooms and the deck around the pool could use some repairs but we wouldn't hesitate to go back and stay here again. Great option!

Enjoyed our stay

Stayed in two bedroom villa, loved the pool, and the privacy. Breakfast at hotel was good, lots of choices. Staff were great, friendly and helpful. Location is a bit out of the way, but taxis are cheap.

My beautiful relaxing Holidays

I love the place
I wanted to be in a quiet ambiance, far away from the crazy Kuta area, and that was just perfect.
The team was dedicated to whatever request/ need i had
They arranged everything every time.
They were very nice and kind
The swimming pool was just like on the photo...and i love it
The Jimbara beach is not far away and was just so beautiful
The system of shuttle going from Hotel to the beaches was just perfectly convenient
The residences were beautiful too , i asked to visit them, as it is perfect for couples, or friends
Very good value for price

Recommended and worth the price

The place is the quiet and private, staffs are friendly.
Good cleaniness and the pool is clear. Food is not bad as well, only thing maybe the location but it only cost abou 10k from Jimbaram if taking Uber. So generally a good one.

Fantastic stay in a beautiful hotel!

My husband and I had an amazing stay at The Astari. We stayed in one of the one bedroom villas. The room was amazing, always incredibly clean and very private. We made use of having a BBQ dinner one of the nights in the garden area of our villa with 4 of our friends who were staying close by. The food was excellent and the service was very attentive. The hotel staff were more than happy to help with any queries we had and made our stay enjoyable. I will be recommending to friends and family and hope to visit again in the future.

Nice little boutique villa

It's a really nice little hotel so the staff get to know you well. It also feels really safe as they are attentive, sometimes I even forget to lock the door haha! The staff are super nice and welcoming, they are also super helpful with any you need - towels, scissors even bringing food to your room if you choose to. They have a neat swimming pool which you can swim at any time, we when in at 11pm at night, still open and the reception is right next to it so there will be someone watching but don't think of them as a lifeguard as permission to be careless or anything. The standard is high for a 4 star hotel, I've been to worse 4 stars hotels in Australia and this is definitely good value for money. The only downside is that it is in the middle of nowhere for those who want to venture out but I also like how it's in the middle of nowhere, it has a nice resort hideaway feel. They also have buses to Jimbaran Beach, Nusa Dua and Kuta just need to take a taxi back. If you're looking for a bigger swim for food to eat near by, head to Movenpick, it's a 5 min taxi ride/ 20 min walk :)

Villa well suited for the escapee!

I felt valued as a guest and it seals the deal for me.
Not a fancy place but service was good.
Had 3 bookings for rooms at different places in their property.
Rooms were all good and clean - only set back was that walls in my villa bedroom were starting to peel.
Everything else was in excellent condition.

Amazing honeymoon

The best honeymoon ever you can spend at Astari.
We have booked one bedroom villa with private pool.
I can't describe the privileges which have been provided by the resort manager such as free fruit basket. Filling our private bath tub with flowers. Free massage..Etc
It was amazing to have your private pool.

A secluded accommodation with friendly service

We booked the one bedroom villa and were given the Villa Manggis. Room was clean, bathroom was huge, private pool was well maintained. Overall, for a small family like us, it was a great villa for the price. We did not get too bad of a mosquito presence during our stay; this is a pleasant \"surprise\" considering the shaded/dark areas. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating of our requests. Breakfast was fairly basic, but something that is expected at this accommodation type and price. Access to the property is out of the way of any busy streets. We had no issue with this as we had our own vehicle; anybody planning to be on foot should consider the location of this property.

Disappointing Stay

Our Expedia package came with continental breakfast, 2 free spa vouchers and free wifi. Our stay was pretty uneventful until the TERRIBLE SERVICE the morning before we checked out. We woke up around 7am to find out there was no water running in the villa. Meaning no water in faucets and no working toilet to be used. Had to wait until 9am before the issue was temporarily resolved. Electricity and water cut out 3 more times after the first time. Caused us to cancel/miss our morning spa reservations as we were pressed for time to get ourselves and our things ready for check out after all the electrical and water issues. At check out, we asked for a credit for the spa vouchers we were forced to miss due to the hotel's issues to be applied to our existing room service balance. Was told we would not get anything for the inconvenience except additional spa vouchers, which we could not use as we were checking out and had a car waiting to take us to the airport to return to the United States. Hotel did not feel that they were liable to compensate us for wasting our time, making us miss our spa reservations and stressing us out the morning before we had to board a 30 hr flight. Would not advise anyone to stay here, management is inconsiderate and will not work with you.
