This is a great hotel. On the water. Close to many things. The room was great with a wonderful view. Buy the breakfast and get the club floor as there is a great buffet at both the breakfast restaurant and the club lounge. Only issue was that they don’t turn on the ac until later in the year (which seems to be the norm in China) so my room was often 26 or 27 degrees Celsius.

Hotel is great but empty mini bar

I enjoyed my stay clean and big room. Loved the corner room . And the floor to ceiling windows are amazing to look over the beach. Nice gym. Huge and grand looking lobby. The only thing I would complain about is that the hotel messaged me to say that the mini bar is free but there was nothing in the mini bar.

Check in experience not good

They looked like didn’t check advanced request to arrange two rooms at the same floor for family.
No international brand Visa/Master card to deposit, their scanning portable machine cannot accept 4 digit pins. They just say we accept only Wechat, Alipay or this China brand visa/master card scanner. Are you sure for those coming from other countries??? It was not flexible services as the Hyatt Regency.
If your kids want to swim in the seaside, better to come before and after green seaweeds season. You can not even get close by the smell and the endless green seaweeds.

Room was quiet, clean and comfortable. Check in and check out was super easy. Staff at the front desk spoke adequate English. Location is fantastic to beach and Lion Mall.

Rooms on the 5th floor are not desirable

In general, the hotel is nice enough. However, we had two different types of rooms, the rooms on 5th floor are not nice. They get the barbecue smell from downstairs restaurant, and in the mid of night we heard machine noise coming from under... If you book this hotel, definitely demand for higher floors, NO 5th FLOOR!

Qingdao is beautiful

Best China beach and beachfront walking. Truly great. Blue water, clean waves, sand and rocky beach, lots of parks. Qingdao and this area in particular are well wirth a visit.

Language problems

In comparing to my stay last year, the room whas not as good, not as clean and not helpful at the reception. Staff could not speak proper English, by every question it went over 3-4 people and finally you still get not the right answer. For the price they charge per night you would expect better service.

Beautiful beach front hotel. Good for a relaxing time. However, surrounding area doesn’t offer the variety of food choices. Granted there are 2 malls close by, but they do not offer too much. Honestly, if I’m not too picky, it’s a very nice place to stay and unwind

Great Seaside Hotel

Stayed in winter, so wasn’t able to take advantage of its wonderful proximity to the beach. Nonetheless, the property is beautiful and offers gorgeous views of the sea. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for seaside luxury. If you have business downtown, though, you may want to find a hotel closer to the city center.

Beautiful hotel, great views, room needed some TLC

I have stayed here 6 times, although this review is spefically for my family's recent stay in early December 2017. The view from this location is spectacular! Sweeping ocean views as well as views of Laoshan Mountain. The location is fairly near to Waterworld, which is great for kids, but not near to much else. Like the Hyatt Regencies in Taiwan and Singapore, the breakfast buffet here is truly superb, although pricey. The service at this hotel has always been top notch and so the only reason I am rating 4 stars in this review is due to the condition of our room (1625) during our recent stay. Although usually very tidy and \"new\" feeling, our room had ugly caulking around the shower door and the toilet was teetering and not tightly fastened to the floor. These issues are truly unusual to me considering the otherwise impeccable nature of this facility, but it tells me that management needs to watch the details a it better.

We have stayed at this hotel before and it is is very nice. Unfortunately because of our short stay we could not use all the facilities. Check in was a bit slow and cumbersome but the rooms are great and the views are good.

Great for business travel

Check in / Out was fast and easy. Rooms are well appointed. Internet connection can be slow at times, but that can be true of any place in China.
The staff, for the most part speaks English. Pretty easy to get by for the non- Chinese speaker.

If you want to do any shopping, eating or clubbing (outside of the hotel), you will need to take a taxi. There is nothing within walking distance.

Room and bed is great except stinky bad smell from washroom pipe which is not something you expect from a 5 stars hotel. Location is far with nothing around the area, in and go need to call taxi.

Beautiful hotel in great location!

I have stayed in Hyatt hotels in San Francisco, Singapore and Taipei; the Qingdao hotel is just a nice as these others. The hotel is brand new and in a quiet neighborhood right on the beach. The room was contemporary, spotless and comfortable, and the delicious breakfast buffet is a real treat for the business traveler in China! The only issue that keeps this hotel from being a 5 star experience, in my opinion, is the fairly thin walls. At one point during my 4 night stay I had a loud neighbor who seemed to be having a party, and I could hear every syllable loud and clear.

Good hotel right on the beach

The hotel is right on a private section of the beach. You can move easily between the indoor pool and the beach. I was quite pleasantly surprised by the quality of the beach. We had a good view of the ocean from our room. This is an ideal hotel for a family vacation.

Good value for the price

Good location, direct beach access, spacious and comfortable.
On the other hand, front-desk was mechanical-like response and I didn't feel heartwarming welcome from the staff. It might depend on the staff so I can't say that is the entire impression of the hotel.
In the end, this hotel offers a good value for the price so I would go back again.

Hotel with nice ocean view

I stayed at this hotel for a business trip, the hotel condition was very good, spacious and confortable.
Hotel staff were fast and efficient.

The only pity is that I visited in February, it would have been much nicer during summer time, since they have a direct access to the beach. Hopefully I can go back again in the summer.
