An absolutely terrible hotel. Zero noise mitigation between the rooms, you can hear people farting next door. The mattresses are quite possibly the worst ones i’ve ever slept on. Clearly if there was any other decent choice in Vitroria, i’d go there, but the lack of decent hotels in this city is a problem.

Great location, easy accessible by public tram, and easy walk to old town, with good restaurants and good sightseeing. The Florida park across for hotel added benefit.
The hotel staff were friendly and extremely helpful in assisting with the planning of our daily activities. Would definitely return.

Every time you wanted a drink or some thing,
You had to go down to reception and ask for someone to serve us.
Overall not a good visit.
We have stayed in NH Hotels many times and this was not up to their usual standards

This is the only hotel I’ve been to that advertised air conditioner and it wasn’t turned on in the whole hotel.
Sleeping was not pleasant at all. We had to either open a window to a very noisy street or have a noisy fan.

stayed just one night. The only negative is that there was no place de parking inside the hotel. But we found one nearby in a nice public parking. Our room ha a vew of the magnificient park and of the cathedral. Very good buffet breakfast. Vitoria lives its reputation of a green city

However, the parking in the basement is tight, so it requires an expert driver to move in and out of the small spaces if you are not familiar with driving in older European cities.

Overall a good hotel experience but with a couple minor issues. The parking garage was full so I had to find street parking and cross my fingers that I found a spot where I could park my rental car overnight. Also, one of the elevators was out of service so it was a real hassle to wait for the single elevator (I was on the 8th floor).
However, the service staff were all very friendly - the front desk ladies mailed my postcards for me, the bartender gave me free ice refills, and the guy running the (incredible) breakfast buffet had a smile every morning. Wi-fi was free and I had no issues connecting. The shower in my room was also a treat - the showerhead had a rotating jet that felt very nice!

Poor experience at an NH hotel

The first time we waited to check in, the receptionist ignored us as if we were invisible. On our later return, her colleague checked us in without a smile.
Our room had a very small, hard bed and a bathroom so small, you could not fully open the door. It all looked very old and tired and the aircon was noisy and ineffectual.At breakfast, my request for scrambled eggs muted into over -cooked, oil -saturated and inedible fried eggs. The service was indifferent, just like reception.

4 stars price, but quality of 2 or 3 stars

the location is really excellent and the room is good, but there are some important issues:
- during check-in I was kept waiting 3 hours for the wrong room;
- the air condition does not work well during the night. I've complained but received no response;
- noisy room;
- there was a constant smell of cigarette in the last days. I've complained two times, but nothing was done (as it seems was standard protocol on this hotel)

Nice hotel, great location. Only downside was the bar/cafe area - they had menus out on the tables offering a limited range of food, but this is only available when the restaurant is open. It didn't say this anywhere, and we'd ordered drinks before being told we'd have to wait an hour to get something to eat.

This hotel has a great central location within walking distance of the main town centre. There is a great Italian restaurant called Dolomiti and a nice bar/restaurant called Senda steps away so you are never stuck for food options - unless its August because everything seems to be shut for holidays! The hotel itself has a nice lobby area where you can sit and have a few drinks, coffee etc. There is also a beautiful restaurant. I did not eat there but heard great things and the daily menu is pretty reasonable. The lobby area always had a nice atmosphere and the waiters/waitresses were very friendly. The rooms all have a nice view either of the city or of the parks at the back. O stayed in the hotel from the 8-14 August. We arrived just at the end of the local festivities so the hotel had been very busy. The first room (number 1013) we were given had an issue. On entering the room I could smell smoke and then I noticed the smoke alarm had been blocked with tissue tied with a headphone cable-very ingenious! Reception moved us but I was pretty shocked this had gone unnoticed as the room stank. I noticed a cigarette butt on the staircase. It was never clear to me where you could and could not smoke so assuming people just do it anywhere they are out of view of staff. The hotel has two small lifts with a large central staircase. A hotel of that size and that many floors needs bigger or more lifts. The second room (number 610) we were given was right in-fron of the lift so was noisy

It's a lovely cosy hotel, conveniently located, right next to the green belt. The staff is helpful and efficient and some speak very good English. The hotel even has some bicycles for rental (although it would have been great if they maintain their bikes better), if you don't have time to get to the nearby bike rental shops.

Great hotel in a great city

Having spent a week or so in a number of hotels in Northern Spain this one was the best. Location is great (5 mins walk from the main plaza in Vitoria, a great city to visit) with many nearby bars and restaurants. The hotel is newly refurbished and very nice, the beds are the best hotel bed I have slept on for a very long time, it is clean modern, friendly. It is excellent.

No Aircon whatever the temperarure...

We booked this hotel for a date in May when it was going to be hot and humid overnight. We chose the hotel because it advertised aircon throughout. We had been cycling all day and checked in explaining we were really hot and tired. The checking staff though helpful and nice failed to mention that the hotel does not switch it's aircon on before 9 June however hot it is outside.

Not knowing this we tried to switch our aircon on at night and found it didn't work. The staff explained the 9 June deadline and consequently we sweltered overnight in our room with the window open at 25C inside. And you may not want the window open, the road is noisy and may keep some people awake.

Whist the rooms are great and the hotel ideally situated for the town, I'd suggest that this hotel is only a good choice after 9 June. The outside temperature dropped to 17, but our room remained boiling all night. (We have a thermometer on our bike computer).

There hotel was unable to give us a discount (manager away) and NH the selves just offered us a discount off another stay - so trying to make more money out of us instead of compensating us for false advertising.

It's a shame, because its a nice hotel, with nice rooms, but you'd be better off taking the duvet across the road to the park and sleeping on a bench!

Strange Bathroom!

Room 608 had the strangest bathroom layout for a 4star hotel. the glass counter had a corner cutoff in order for guest to squeeze by to get to the toilet and bidet.
Otherwise the hotel was well located and breakfast was good.
Caution if you need ramp access for there was none. Guests need to lift baggage up 6-8 steps to get to entrance.

I came to Vitoria to visit a dear friend. She recommended that I stay in this hotel. It was very close to the train station and equally close to the city centre. The rooms were tidy and comfortable. It's a big hotel - I stayed on the 8th floor of 10! - but the staff were friendly and the place equally hospitable.

My wife and I enjoyed a fantastic stay at the NH Canceler Ayala in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Our room had incredible views of the city and was immaculate and extremely comfortable. The restaurant in the hotel was also excellent and offered very fair complete meal rates. From this property it was an easy walk to the center of town and a plethora of shops, restaurants, tapas bars and more. We would definitely stay at this property again the next time we are in Vitoria-Gasteiz.

Location is excellent. Hotel Parking is €17.60 which is too much for Vitoria. Room was small but ok for 1 night stay. Stay away from rooms that are right across the elevator, you can hear everything from next doors and the elevator. Lobby is well decorated and the park right across the hotel makes it spacey.

Best place to stay during the Vitoria JazzFestival

This hotel was conveniently located close to the venues where the Jazz Festival venues were located--10 minute walks to all locations--and at night, the hotel hosted the after-hour bands that rocked until 4am.

Front desk was great, nice clean rooms, my only complaint is that the elevator is quite tiny for a 10 story hotel.

We were in Vitoria for a friend's wedding. Unfortunately it was a very hot weekend in Bilbao, and the hotel has a very antiquated air conditioning system that was not working. The room was like a sauna both nights, and I did not sleep well. The staff, however, was very good.
