駐車場の使い勝手が良い（野外駐車場）受付の手間が省けます。　新潟駅には、バスで十分対応出来るので、飲食等は不便は無いです。　今回は、古町を飲食利用要しましたが、穴場スポットと遭遇し大満足でした。　ホテルスタッフさんの対応も親切で大変ありがったです。

Great location on the river bank. The facilities felt outdated but still fairly well maintained. Room was large and had a nice view of the Bandai bridge. Got a cold on Sado island but I had a really nice sleep back to Niigata and felt completely recharged. Super kind and attentive staff. Parking is a bit pricy at the hotel but I had no problems finding plenty of parking lots nearby.

Proper old-school 80's elegance and luxury. The lobby has chandeliers and a Bell Captain's desk, and a whisky bar upstairs. The room had a writing desk with printed stationery, a built-in international plug socket and cabled internet, a nightstand with a built-in radio and a pen and notepad by the phone, and a bathroom with a phone and a bottle opener attached to the wall. Even the cleaning staff wore the maid outfits with the cute little bonnets. Live the glory days at Okura Niigata.

This was surely the best hotel in town when it opened. Showing signs of wear and tear (but so am I!), but still comfortable like an old sofa. The double room was spacious (by any standard, not just Japan), with room for a desk and chairs. Breakfast buffet was very good. Location overlooking the river, could walk to fish market for excellent sushi.

Fantastic hotel in Niigata

My husband and I and our 2 friends stayed at Hotel Okura Niigata In April 2025 - 2 rooms facing the river. Rooms were spacious, clean, bright with comfortable beds and linens. The hotel & restaurant service is beyond outstanding - despite the restaurant being closed (that served Cherries Jubilee ), the hosts graciously opened the restaurant for us and their chef prepared a spectacular Cherries Jubilee dessert for the 4 of us ! The Breakfast buffet was outstanding. A wonderful assortment of hot dishes including eggs, omelets, Japanese offerings, Cappucino's , salmon, fresh fruits, croissants and salads. Taxi service was readily available. The hotel is in an excellent location downtown with easy access to see sights and restaurants. Would definitely stay again when we return to Japan

朝食が込み合っていて、待つのは仕方ないし良いのですが、食べ始めて３０分たたない内にあと10分で片付けますは悲しかったです。
1人3000円という値段に対し、少し残念と感じました。
部屋に関しては、他の部屋の水道の音が少し気になりました。
全般的には良かったので機会があればまた利用します。

We were disappointed in the choices of food, no room service, the bar was nice but only had snacks like nuts or a cheese plate. I had a great view of the river and the buildings just across from the property.
The staff was very attentive and some even spoke excellent English. I wish I could remember the agent that checked me in she was very good.
Breakfast buffet was great and the buffet staff excellent!!
The hotel is a 20 minute walk from the Shinkansen station.
From the hotel you can walk to in 40 minutes Nishikaigan park which is right next to the Ocean which has a sand beach.

What stands out about this hotel was the staff, which is amazing. The location of the hotel is also great - right next to one the city’s top attraction and the breakfast buffet was delicious.

While the hotel is impeccably clean, the rooms are dated. The bathroom had no fan, instead a 2 inch gap between the bathroom door and floor.
The ac seems to be centrally controlled so it’s not possible to adjust the temperature in the room. The only thing adjustable was the fan speed. We opened the window at night to cool things down.

We had a room with two beds, but there was only power outlet for both beds to share. If you want to charge your phone on the nightstand, only one person can do so.
But the room size was spacious.

Grand hotel along a beautiful river

This is a grand hotel that sits right along the river and halfway between the main train station and the restaurants/bars district of Niigata. This is an older hotel but the rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Parking fees are a bit higher than surrounding hotels and you would need to use a taxi or take a bus to get there if you don't have a car. Great location to take morning jogs along the river and walkable to many restaurant options but this is hotel stands by itself between more busy areas.

The hotel room was spacious and we did enjoy the view of the river. The hotel staff were all very pleasant and helpful. It was an easy walk to the train station and shopping areas. But if you take a taxi from the hotel to the station, be watchful. The taxi who was parked on hotel grounds and was hailed by the hotel doorman took us in a very roundabout route. We were charged Yen 1176 for what should have been Yen 760, which is what we were charged from the station to the hotel. Exactly the same route and it was a 2 way street. I think the driver heard is speaking English and knew we were leaving Niigata so he felt he could take us for a ride, literally! We were very shocked and disappointed by this as Japan taxi drivers have a very fine reputation of being very honest. Not saying that it’s the hotel’s fault but they should be aware of this type of taxi driver waiting in the grounds of this great hotel

Hotel is very good for an area that is not big on foreign tourists. Not a surprise in Niigata which always been this way ( we lived here for 2 years in the late 90’s). The hotel is more than good, but the restaurant in the hotel was terrible, very slow service for foreigners (more than an hour to get our food) but the locals had food with in ten minutes!!!!

ツインのお部屋を予約しました。宿泊前に生後8ヶ月の子どもがいると伝えたところ、ベッドを2台くっつけて尚且つ壁側に寄せるという心遣いをいただきました。そのほかにもオムツ用のゴミ箱、ベッドガードやお風呂で使えるイスも用意していただき、大変感動しました。初めての家族旅行でとても緊張していたのですが、安心して滞在ができました。家族3人で川の字で寝れたことも思い出になりました。

お部屋も清潔感があり、心遣いが見える清掃をしていただけました。

また新潟に訪れる際にはお世話になりたいホテルです。
ありがとうございました。

夜遅いチェックインでしたが、受付や地下駐車場の案内をしてくださるスタッフさんたちがとても親切で笑顔も暖かく、ほっこりしました。

県内在住ですが、豪雪のため深夜の帰宅は運転が困難なので、今回は寝るためだけのステイでした。

眩しいほどの朝陽が入る部屋で、久しぶりの青空と信濃川と万代橋の景色を眺めながら、ゆったりとリフレッシュできました。
