Blackout sliding panels on the window, which also served during my cold December three-night stay to keep the room warm at night, preventing heat from radiating out from the large window. The chair at the desk was very comfortable both for working and for reading, with padding on the seat and on the back.

The Art Hotel is literally steps away from the JR Niigata station. The room faced the station so could hear some noise but for the most part it was good. The breakfast with the stay was good with selections. Would recommend staying here.

Convenient location (right next to train station), although could be challenging if you have lots of luggages or need elevator/escalator. The most direct way to hotel elevator required negotiating two short flights of stairs.

Location is mint for this hotel. Between the regulator rail service, to the bullet trains, to the area buses, any the coach buses, you have every availability for transportation at your door step.

From the bullet train gate at Niigata Station to the front desk took no longer than a three and a half minute walk through the station complex. Lots and lots of shops and places to eat on the way.
All hotel staff very efficient and polite. Room not huge as expected but very good spec. Room wasn't facing the station plaza/ bus terminus so very peaceful. Best of all, the hotel restaurant. Buffet breakfast excellent and ¥1700 set dinner was one of the best and most beautifully presented meals I've ever had in Japan.

The breakfast buffet was excellent but the air conditioning system was atrocious. It had only 4 settings: off, low, medium, and high. It was not possible to control the specific temperature or humidity level indoors. Despite turning the heat setting off, the room consistently felt so overheated that I had to open the window, exposing the room to external noise and pollution. At one point despite leaving the window open and the heat off, I returned to find the room sweltering - it felt like over 30 degrees Celsius when the outside temperature peaked at around 20 degrees that day. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who isn’t completely insensitive to temperature.

A simple hotel in the city centre

The property is located in a very convenient location, right above the train station and shopping malls.

Check-in was easy. There is no parking facility in the hotel but it offers discounts for hotel guests to park in nearby facilities. Staff was helpful. Rooms were a bit run down but generally neat and tidy. It was very good for the price.

Need to improve service level. Reception barely speak English. A few times reception desk was unmanned and it was during office hours. Parking is chargeable, expensive and complicated. Rooms are small to the point of being uncomfortable and theres no common area for guest. Breakfast was very good in variety, taste and value.

Hard bedding but good location.

Location is amazing. Considerable amount of night shopping in the area for Niigata. There are nearby car parks for 700 yen a night. The beds were very stiff and the pillows were filled with beads. Very uncomfortable for those used to soft bedding.

Great Location joined to Niigata Station

Art hotel is just a short stroll from Niigata Station. You do not not even need to get out of the bounds of Niigata Station and can make your way to the hotel under cover all the way. If coming from Niigata Station (JR Railway line), you can get to the lifts of the hotel (entering via 2nd floor) and go up to 4F (4th floor) to reception for Check in. Check in was painless and quick (staff have limited English). Nightlife and restaurants are on the other side of the station and easily accessible. Room was clean, and slight larger than an average hotel room in Japan (Which is usually quite small). Shower facilities great. Room offered a mobile phone charger which came in handy (multiple end points for different types of phones). Shower pressure and temp was great. Smoking and non smoking rooms available. If you end up with a room that is high, it has a great view.

部屋は少し狭くて、機内持ち込みサイズのキャリーケースを開く場所がないくらいでしたが、必要なものだけ出してたたんでおけば大丈夫でした。なにより改装したてでとても清潔でした。アメニティで入浴剤があったのもうれしかったですし、新潟駅から雨にぬれずに移動できたのもありがたかったです。

フロントで掃除不要のため、タオル類をドアノブに掛けてほしいとリクエストしたところ、バスタオルとフェイスタオルのみが入ったビニール袋がドア前の廊下に置いてあった。下足で通る場所なので、顔や体を拭くものを置かれるのがとても嫌だったのでドアノブに掛けて欲しいと明確にお願いしたのに、しかも、バスマットとパジャマが入っていなかったので大変不自由しました。
もう、入浴の段取りをしてから気づいたので、フロントに電話をして持ってきてもらうために再度着衣するのも嫌だったので、特にホテル側に何も言っていませんが、こんなホテルは初めてだったので、もう2度と使わないかなと思っています。

朝食は美味しかった。日本酒の試飲も良かった。部屋の清掃もきちんとしていた。一方で寝巻として大の浴衣を提供していただいたが自分にはそれでも小さかった（インバウンドも考え4L・5Lが有ると有難い）。連泊した場合朝食メニューに変化が無い事も記しておく。

니가타역에서 가깝고 쇼핑몰과도 연결이 잘되어있어 다니기 편했어요~ 방크기는 크지도 작지도 않았는데 욕조도 있고 메모리폼 베개여서 편했습니다. 다만 옆방과 방음이 안좋더군요ㅜㅜ 조식은 잘나오는데 3일내내 음식이 거의 똑같아서 변화를 주면 좋겠습니다. 사케시음 할수 있어서 재밌었습니다. 방청소는 매일 해주시네요~ 편히 묵었습니다.
