The owners suggested great places to eat and made us feel so welcome.
I would gladly recommend this wonderful facility and when we come back to Palmerston North in August we will plan to stay here
The location was ideal, walk to dinner downtown and around the corner to the esplanade. Laundry facilitysfr it perfect.

We had an excellent stay and couldn’t recommend this motel highly enough. The owners were absolutely lovely and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived.
The room was very tidy and well-presented, with everything we needed for our stay. We were in town for a softball tournament, so having access to a washing machine and dryer was a huge bonus — it made washing uniforms each day so easy.
And the spa bath was amazing — such a treat after long days at the tournament!
Thank you for a fantastic stay. We will definitely be back!

The lovely folks running Kauri Court gave a very warm welcome, including nearby sites to see and the best place to get an ice cream. The 2-bedroom unit we stayed in was very tidy and clean, and when I say clean I mean clean! The carpets, the tiles, bathrooms, everything. There is a full-sized fridge/freezer, oven, hob (with extractor fan), and even a dish drawer so it was like being at home. The kitchen was very well appointed, with way more cutlery, utensils, pots, and pans than I've ever seen at a motel. The bedrooms were warm and big, and the beds were soft with crisp, clean sheets. The cleaning crew were so lovely too. This was very much a home away from home. We felt comfortable and very much enjoyed our stay here.

The owners are very friendly and helpful.
The rooms are clean, and the grounds are well maintained. I suspect they are doing some upgrades, which is really going to make the place even more a must stay.

Great stay except....

Was there to visit my son. The stay was awesome. Staff was super pleasant and helpful. Clean room and quiet. My only issue is the lack of tv channels. All there was were infomercials on. I like to watch tv so that was the only disappointing thing about my stay. Will definitely stay again.

Rude and Unprofessional

I booked this room late in the day due to my hostel being unsafe. My reservation was accepted online AFTER the desk hours and a phone number given to call to be let in to the motel upon my arrival.
When I arrived at 11:30 pm the office was closed (which was to be expected) but no one answered the after hours number. I contacted the Hotels.com help line and they were very helpful and quickly connected with the hotel owner, Margarette, and asked her to please meet me for my room. At this point it was midnight. The owner did meet me and her behavior was rude, angry, and unprofessional. She met me with \"Do you have any idea what time it is??\" After trying kindly to explain my situation, she cut me off and read me the riot act which included how I as a foreigner needed \"to learn how NZ works\", how I \"inconvenienced her\", how this was \"never going to happen again\", etc. Bear in mind I was soaking wet from the rain and was crying from the scary event at my hostel. She showed zero kindness and basic human decency.
Why would the motel accept and process my payment after the desk hours if they had no intention of letting me into the room after hours? Simply refuse the booking if you cannot meet the after hours needs of guests.
Owning and running a motel means that sometimes travelers have unexpected situations. My late arrival was in no way malicious or entitled and I tried to meet her with gratitude and had my head bit off.
Poor reflection of the usual kind Kiwi spirit :/

Disappointed that receptionist wasn’t wearing a face covering in the enclosed reception area while expecting cleaning staff in open areas to wear theirs. Also surprised to see room serviced without request (towels changed daily which for a two night stay we feel was not ‘eco aware’ or required). Staff certainly friendly and welcoming, units are clean, bright, airy and in good condition. Location is however a busy road and without double glazing units do get road noise. A high school is also next door so something to note if staying during a school term. That and a neighbouring unit TV was on our bed head wall (sadly that unit had TV on all night). I don’t think above unit was occupied. Overall a mixed bag…nice units but did have more noise than expected and as we are currently in a pandemic (and we were travelling through many regions) we expected motel reception just to be more conscious of that fact. You are dealing with people travelling extensively surely a face covering is a must…

Tboroughly enjoyed our weekend here. We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment which had everything we needed including 3 super comfy king size beds,a washing machine and dryer. Lovely decor, quiet, clean and plenty of tea and coffee etc provided. Would definitely recommend.

The unit I booked was spacious and comfortable. The shower was excellent with good pressure and plenty of room.
It was very clean and was serviced every day!
Staff were friendly and approachable .
The Kauri Inn was in an excellent location for us with easy access to the shops and University!
A stones throw away from the Esplanade Gardens is another bonus.
I am coming back to Comfort Inn Kauri Inn next time I need to come to Palmerston North!
