The residence was always clean when we came back. At nights it was nice and cool and the beds very comfortable. The shower was another thing I was looking forward to have a nice pressure and hot water and it meet my expectations. The kitchen was fully equipped and spotless.

Going to list out the reasons I didnt rate this stay 5 stars first. We booked a two bedroom with kitchen suite. We stayed 6nights total. We anticipated we would have small single use dish pods and detergent for our stay but ended up buying full size products at the local OXXO. The front desk didnt have the products avaliable and cleaning service didnt run the dish washer.

Sleep was distribed each night by hall light shining through frosted glass in the bathroom. After maybe 4am it shut off and was able to sleep. May not be an issue for non light sensitive sleepers. Also property design echoes sound!

Main pool area hot tub and pool didnt get hot enough. I think I read pool was heated to 85 degrees. Saw staff going under to check pool mechanics.

I do want to say the staff was awesome. Bartender knew when we were headed up to the pool and acknowledged us with a wave as we hit the elevator. Moments later he was ready to take our drink orders pool side. Room attendant cleaned and made up the rooms when requested, to tip top cleanliness.I enjoyed the friendly attitude of the after hour security guy.

The beach was close! I was concerned I would have to walk a distance, 1/4 to 1/2 to get tot the beach but the block sizes are small. Was watching the sunrise with any easy peasy walk for a night owl.

Room lovely and spacious but overlooking a building site. Front of house Staff were great, bar man very friendly, made great cocktails 🍸 The noise from the bars were actually overbearing and goes on until 4am. I am sure there is no reason for them to be that loud !! Pool area was good but again noisy from building work.

The staff was not very friendly or accommodating. I paid over 1,500 for a room with no hot water, broken lock on the sliding door, and unusable jacuzzi. On top of all that, there was construction right in front of our unit which started making noice at 5AM. Additionally , you can hear near by clubs playing their music way past 3AM.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Antera hotel and residences. The bed was super comfortable, we really enjoyed the rooftop patio with hot tub and it was great having a kitchen, two bathrooms and laundry facilities in our unit. The property is well maintained and beautiful and we really enjoyed the rooftop pools. The staff are friendly and eager to help but not all is perfect, there are a few issues with this hotel. The noise from a couple of bars thumps all night and is unreasonably loud. This isn’t the hotel’s fault but something that could ruin your stay, earplugs are highly recommended! I loved having a kitchen on holiday but this kitchen lacked cupboard space and more importantly a toaster,(we ended up using the oven to make toast). Unfortunately during our stay we encountered cockroaches in our room, they sprayed all the drains a couple of times but the problem still persisted. I was disappointed that the hotel didn’t check back with us or offer us anything for dealing with this issue. I would return for another visit but next time would ask for a quieter room.

We had a great time, the apartment was quite spacious (perhaps the wardrobe was too small) and the level of cleanliness was really good. Breakfast in the morning was excellent and the use of the parking convenient (although very steep!). The staff was friendly and professional. We would recommend it to anyone who isn't bothered by the constant noise of people and music which does not come from the hotel but from the immediate vicinity of the promenade.

This is a prime location! You're a block away from 5th ave walking, but far enough away that you aren't in the crowd. Plenty of choices for restaurants right outside the hotel. This hotel has free parking in an underground parking garage. The garage is tight, but was not crowded during our stay. As others have stated, sometimes the music from a nearby club is very loud at night.

I had a beautiful time at the Antera! The hotel itself was stunning and the staff was friendly and attentive, making sure to accommodate anything I needed! I also loved the area the only thing I will say is the music is very loud at night because it’s right by 5th Ave. The pool and hot tub were nice, I really loved having a jacuzzi in my room! The restaurant downstairs Yum Yum was really good and I found a really nice Mexican cuisine restaurant Porfirio was really nice.

Beautiful Hotel, but Noise Makes It Hard to Rest

Antera is undoubtedly a beautiful hotel. The design, atmosphere, and attention to detail create that sense of luxury you expect when staying here. The facilities are pleasant, and the staff is attentive, which gives the experience many positive aspects.

However, there was one important issue that affected my stay. The bar located next to the hotel creates noise late into the night, often until around 3 a.m., almost every night. For light sleepers or anyone hoping to fully rest during their vacation, this can be quite challenging.

It’s a shame because the hotel has great potential, but the nighttime noise directly impacts the quality of sleep. For that reason, I personally would not recommend it to those who prioritize good rest, and I would likely not stay here again because of this.

Antera was incredible. Our room was spaceous and the kitchen was very well equipped. The bed was the best hotel bed i have ever slept on for my back.

We loved every breakfast, which was included, at the attached restaurant called 'Yum Yum'. It was our morning ritual. The coffee is better than any chain cafe, the fruit was so fresh, and everything was better prepared and presented than i expected for a hotel breakfast. It is one of the better restaurants in the area.

The staff were always courteous and helpful. The rooftop has lovely pools and a great view of sunsets. The bartender is beyond professional.

Downtown can be noisy into the evening, but we did not have any issues sleeping with the AC fan on for white noise. People watching from our balcony was a wonderul way to relax.

Easy access to the beach, restaurants and the ADO station.

Would definitely recommend and happily stay again.

Overall very good! Super walkable, central, and affordable. The room (2 double beds) was spacious and decently clean, though I wouldn’t describe it as “squeaky sparkling clean”, I do have high standards when it comes to it. I will say the bed sheets were so soft and comfortable though! The property lobby and pathways had lots of lush beautiful greeneries which gave wonderful tropical feels. The rooftop pool is nothing fancy and faces some construction but does get full sun for sun bathing and has a peekaboo view of the ocean. Staff were helpful and friendly with any questions we had. The first room we got assigned on the first floor had a very funky sewage-like smell from the bathroom, they were kind enough to switch us to a different room upon request on the 3rd floor where the smell was MUCH better but still faintly there — could be to so with their plumbing system but we were happy enough with the switch. The location is very central so you have lots of options for beaches, shops, bars, and restaurants steps away from you but with that, you can most definitely and very loudly hear the bars in the surrounding area especially during the weekend and nighttime. You are right in the center of it all so naturally that is the price you pay. Beware if you are a light sleeper or noise sensitive. Overall a great stay and would recommend it! PS. Don’t skip on visiting the bar at the lobby. Pavel makes the best drinks, provides great service, and brings such fun energy to be around!

The rooms are extremely clean and the staff was so nice. Only 2 things that hindered the experience. 1. The noise from the clubs was insane. Thankfully the staff was understanding and changed our room to the other side of the building. We could still feel the bass until 6 am but better than the music combo.
2. The bathroom in the suite smelled like mold. That’s most places in Mexico though to be honest. The location was perfect, lots of great local restaurants in the area and very close to Walmart.

Sleep in a room facing the street is not possible and the staff does not care. The issue is known for years, replies to negative reviews always empty apologies; it also seems that as the money is already in their pockets, there is no interest in providing good service. I recommend to avoid and stay somewhere else.
I hoped to have a room on the back as the property looks nice, but no. At check in I was told the deluxe 1 bedroom apartments are only facing the street. So avoid that type of room and I hope other rooms on the back allow for sleep.
Nothing deluxe about the stay, property needs maintenance and also the room. Also, not sure what's the point of providing dishwasher, washing machine and a full kitchen without any cleaning supplies, but also salt and pepper grinders but empty. Is it expected for every guest to buy all supplies for few days...and then what?
Will not come back. If you want luxury stay, other properties are much better. This place isn't worth it if one can't sleep.
Only positive notes are the cocktails by Pavel.

I stayed at this hotel eight times and have recommended people to stay. I booked in October a two bedroom two bath family residence. Upon arrival I found out that I was given a room on the bottom floor on the inside of the building. An upgrade wasn’t available, which I understand but I asked for a different room on a higher floor. They said they didn’t have any availability and I said you didn’t look at my prior reservations to see where I’ve stayed? And I was told no. I said that would’ve been helpful to see where I’ve stayed previously and I was told I guess you were just lucky. I noticed there was a whole new staff, and I found out the majority of the staff that I knew had quit. One of the bathrooms, the sink was broken and leaking, and it took four hours for them to fix. This is not the experience that I’m used to at Antera. I’m used to a welcome back, smiling face, but this was not my experience. Therefore, I seriously doubt I will be back and it’s such a shame. Their customer service has changed and not for the better.

Property wowed us immediately. It was quiet, included robes, plenty of AC, beautiful finishes, and we got a juice the second we were checking in from the bar. The pool is on the roof and clean along with the hot tub, the spa is clean, the parking is easy and secure. The location is fantastic seriously we can’t recommend this place enough. We stayed at multiple hotels in Mexico this trip this was by far the greatest and exactly what we needed to finish off.

The property is beautifully designed with a sleek, minimalist vibe our spacious room (we stayed in one of the suites) was spotless, super comfortable with high-end linens, a plush bed that gave us the best sleeps of our trip, and
The rooftop is the real highlight two gorgeous infinity-style pools, plenty of loungers, incredible views over the city and toward the Caribbean, and a chill poolside bar with great cocktails. It was the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring.
The staff deserves special mention from the front desk team who helped with everything (luggage, recommendations, even carrying groceries!), to the friendly faces everywhere, they were genuinely helpful, professional, and always smiling. Breakfast at the partnered Yum Yum restaurant was delicious fresh, varied, and a great way to start the day.
Yes, the area has some nightlife noise (typical for central Playa earplugs are provided if needed), but it didn't bother us at all as we're night owls. Underground parking was a huge plus too!
If you're looking for a stylish, comfortable, well-located spot that's great for couples, families, or anyone wanting to experience the real energy of Playa del Carmen without sacrificing peace and quality, Antera is it. We'll definitely be back already planning our next trip!

This is a lovely hotel in an excellent location. The inner courtyard is very pretty and calming. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was much as we expected, smallish but comfortable. Being in downtown Playa Del Carmen, it was pretty noisy at night - we needed ear plugs to get to sleep, but no surprise there. The kitchen amenities were quite limited - no dish soap, wash cloth, only one small towel. The laundry worked perfectly, and the AC easily cooled both the main room and the bedroom. On our last day we couldn’t get hot water. The rooftop pool was a treat, but the hot tub would be better described as a warm tub. The bartender was delightful and made a delicious coconut mojito for our complementary drink. We would stay here again, but I’d book an interior room to reduce the noise.

I didn't like it when I was staying at the hotel with a small child, that they left us a letter that they would be fumigating the room from 10 am to 1 pm. How are you going to carry out the fumigation, spray chemicals on our things, our bed?
If you have a problem with bedbugs, you should close the hotel, move people out, and then do fumigation, not when people are living in the room, that's about bad service. It ruined our mood on our vacation.

Our bed was soaked in urine and we had to ask for a different room. The bar next door is extremely loud until 5 am so it’s next to impossible to sleep even with earplugs. The hot water was very spotty and the breakfast that you pay extra for is overpriced for what you get and not really worth it.

We loved the setup of the rooms and the location of the hotel. We had a room on the first floor with a little patio facing a beautiful courtyard. Only drawback was that you could hear the neighbors in the upstairs scraping the furniture a lot all day. Otherwise great room, we had the 2 bedrooms setup. Very spacious, beautiful furniture. I wish they would provide dish soap and detergent for dishwasher.there was also a washing machine and dryer. That was great! Cleaning was very basic, but they came every day, so that was nice.
The roof top is beautiful. There are 2 areas with roof top pool. We spent plenty of time there. There is plenty to do around, really good places to eat and beach is one block. We hope to be back!

Overall the stay at Antera was great. Check-in was easy and fast. The type of suite reserved was not available so they gave a suite with an extra bedroom.

Bad:
The bed, my feet were much higher than my head so it was sloped down towards the headboard. I had to sleep with my head at the foot of the bed due to reflux
One night there was strong sewer smell from the bathroom & closing the door mitigated the issue. Next day I saw a hydrovac truck on the street so probably was a city sewer issue

Weird:
The ground floor is 0 & the next floor up is 1. Where I am from ground floors are 1. If you take the stairs you have to ensure you are on the correct floor otherwise you may accidentally enter the wrong suite.

Out Antera's control:
Very loud music from nearby bar until 4am.
Building under construction across 10th ave so a lot of noise. It is several floor higher so it overlooks Antera & blocked the sun on my private rooftop for part of the morning. It would not affect the shared pool/lounge area.

Sadly, the kitchen did not come equipped with the toaster, which I feel is a must and any kitchen property the pool but there were no steps to climb in and out of the pool so for someone with accessibility issues that might be a deterrent

The apartment I stayed in was beautiful. My only complaint is that the swimming pool is built in such a way that it is very difficult to get in and get out. There are no stairs or a ladder to get in and there is cement all around. If you jump in and have to climb out on cement, you can scrape your knees.

The rooftop pools are very nice as is the bar. Our only complaint is the tepid water temperature of the shower.

My parents and I love Antera, this was our third visit! It’s walking distance to everything, including the ADO bus station, so it’s easy to go anywhere. The staff in the hotel and restaurant next door (Yum Yum) are always lovely!! Thank you for another great visit 😊

The Antera is a hidden gem in bustling Centro PDC. The staff is amazing - friendly, prompt, and courteous. The spacious room was cleaned daily and fresh bathrobes were provided by the hotel.There is a stylish tropical courtyard that brings nature inside and beautiful rooftop pool and bar area. The included breakfast at YUM YUM restaurant at the corner was filling and fresh daily. Free underground parking is included AND most sights (as well as the beach) are in short walking distance. The only downside - there is a building being constructed across the street that block some of rooftop view and music can be loud when you're ready to sleep (becomes background noise after a couple of nights) Highly recommend for an amenity filled stay at a reasonable price.

Nice roof top area and very friendly staff. Saturday night was very noisy, but other nights were less so, but street noise was heard throughout the stay. Location was excellent to have a less touristy experience but be by beach.

The best thing about this hotel is own centrical it is to eveything in playa del Carmen. You have 5th ave, the ferry, cancun is like a 30 min drive, its location was definitely worth it for us

Pro's - This hotel is so beautiful. The grounds is well kept with a bohemian theme. They have a beautiful bar. 2 really nice relaxing rooftop pools. No rooftop bar but the incredible bartender Pavel will bring your drinks there. We stayed in the 2broom jacuzzi suite that we we're upgraded to for being Platinum members with Expedia and it was absolutely wonderful. The room was so clean and spacious with a huge floor to ceiling windows that open. All the staff were so kind. It's located on 10th ave, one block from the busy 5th ave, and 2 blocks from the beach. Breakfast was included in our rate. Breakfast is located at the Yum Yum restaurant on the corner and it was very good, cooked to order. This was a very affordable option and way more personable than the large all-inclusive hotels. We enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Slight Cons - They are building a huge complex across the street. It takes away from the view on one the pools a bit but still has a view. Construction was during the day. 10th ave is always noisy so the construction noise didn't bother us, we we're hardly in the room. There is also a club that plays loud music into the early hours. If you're one that likes to sleep in complete silence, this won't be the place for you. I put on my headphones, white noise, and/or fan app and I was good.

Overall, this is a very clean. beautiful, affordable boutique hotel with great service that's one block from the main action. You won't be disappointed.

I am taking time out of my day to for warn future travellers. Avoid this hotel.

There is a nightclub on the corner with an outside bar. It starts up at around 7 or 8 PM and goes till 4:30 AM. Earplugs will not help you.

The yard we booked we could not use the hot tub. If you even filled it with 1 inch of water the rest of the water to the whole unit was shut off. The yard was dusty from concrete flying everywhere. Absolutely zero privacy with the workmen looking right across the street at you and it was very dangerous for somebody older or children to go up and down the stairs to get to the yard as there was no railing to hold onto.

The bathrooms stunk very badly and the bathroom doors had to be shut all the time with the fans running. It smelt like rotten eggs.

you only received one key to the room as housekeeping needed to keep the other key so they could clean the unit.
We ended up going without cleaning and holding onto the second key as when you have more than one traveller it’s nice for both to have a key.

The only good thing really was the kitchen. The fridge was a full size. The oven didn’t work too well but it did work.
There are absolutely no cleaning supplies so make sure to bring clean supplies if you stay here like dish soap, cleaners, etc.

There is a Walmart about a seven minute walk away with two other stores directly behind it so it’s convenient for grocery shopping. Check out the third store behind Walmart. The selection is better.

Room was perfect. Hotel is in a great location less than 10 mins walk to the bus station. Staff were very attentive. Osvaldo at from desk very helpful printing boarding passes, organising transport. Enjoyed my stay here a lot.
