Great location and excellent service

This is a great location and excellent service. The only problem was the noise of pump in the bathroom. I think this maybe only for my room. Also, if you need a quiet room, this is not for you becuase of city traffic. However, I enjoyed my stay. and will stay again. I forgot my keys twice. Once and 8pm and the next time at 2am in the morning after a night out. On both occasions they sent someone to open my door, even when the office was closed. That was really great. Thank you.

The room was clean and updated in on old building. My room was okay and very large with a good kitchen an bathroom but the entrance to the room building was in a dark alley and the room was on the fourth floor with no elevator.

Highly recommend!

My husband and I were in Kiev for the Champions League Final and ended up staying in two different Partner Guest House apartments during our stay, as well as an Airbnb. I wish we could have stayed with Partner Guest House the entire trip. Don't let the old buildings and staircases fool you; the rooms are very nice and modern.

The reception staff are extremely helpful and friendly and their english is quite good. Check in happens at a reception location and then they will direct you to where the apartment is. Ours was in the same building and next door, so an easy process all in all.

I highly recommend utilizing their driver for pick up and drop off at the airport. The price is very fair and I believe less expensive than hailing your own cab.

If I come to Kiev again, I absolutely would stay with Partner Guest House.

Good for what it is.

Stayed here for champions league final. Was only place available. Went to offices and was given keys to apartment block 5 min walk away. Local had to help us to the block but on less busy weekends someone takes you apparently. The lift and building were old and creepy at night but the room itself was clean and comfortable. Can’t fault the service. I imagine at normal weekend prices it would be a good option.

It was very bad experience. ...my room was on 11th floor. ..room 41 (shota rostaveli 44 ) ...It was like a building site ...I had lots of flooring wood around my bed ....Under my bed and under TV stand...very disappointed. ..when my girl friend visited me ...she was shocked. ..that was not a romantic meeting I was waiting for ....I hope you will take the necessary measures. ..I send you some photos of my room ...hopping you will get back to me soon

I asked to get my key in apt at noon and they said ok to send someone at noon.
So i was waiting to gave the key to the person who will come.
But nobody come at noon. So i called them to got my key coz i had a appointment.
And they confirmed again somebody will come soon.
So i waited again... but nobody came until 12:40.
then i called again and i said i should leave so i will remain the key to the apt or mailbox.
but they said i can not remain the key. i must wait someone will come to my apt.
I told them i should leave. but they just keep on saying wait. so i was angry and hung off the phone.
i waited until 12:55 then? nobody came. and manager called me and said that i must stay until some guy will come.
So i could leave after 13:00. i really disappointed with this service of apt.
They should have shown at noon coz they promised.
If somebody want to stay at there, be aware they will not keep the time promise.

Very friendly and helpful staff, the airport transfer worked out great. The apartment was pretty dated, the AC was leaking and I can't recall when I stayed the last time in a room with a CRT tv (summer 2016). Not sure, but I think I stayed in EXACTLY the same room in the summer 2006 and nothing had changed there since then.

great place, shame about the service.

The room/apt was great, well equipped (with moderate expectations), although a bowl would have been nice, and comfortable. It seemed the room was only serviced twice during my stay but it probably didn't need much more than that.

My only complaint was that I had arranged for a collection from the airport at around 11pm and no-one came (which was really inconvenient) and it was then a bit of a struggle to get in touch with the duty manager to get a key. If it wasn't for the kindness of the bar tender at the local bar to use their phone I would have not been able to get into the apartment. A similar issue happened upon check out when no one came (again, as promised) to collect the key. It seems odd that an otherwise nice place is spoiled by someone that can't do some simple things and do as they promise...

Lots of apologies for the no taxi and difficult entry but not backed up by any useful action even when it came to checking out... disappointing really.

The only way to stay in Kiev!

Partner Guest House Baseina is actually a group of privately owned apartments that are managed and rented out by a management company just down the street. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful during my stay.

The apartments themselves are perfectly located right in heart of the city. Just down the street is a great 5 story shopping mall with a bowling alley! And across from that is the Old Market! Within a 3 block radius you will find dozens of great restaurants and also an entrance to the Metro system.

The apartments themselves are located in an old Soviet style apartment building which is a typical style for Kiev. But the inside of the apartments have been completely remodeled in a modern European style. Very nice.....

I will DEFINITELY stay here again......

No Concept of Customer Service

The staff of this company have no concept of customer service. I called from my apartment after three hours because I was so sick from the temperature in the room; as usual for Ukraine, it was a wall-mounted air conditioner, which often is little more than a wall-mounted fan in reality. But, even for the normally bad air conditioners in Ukraine, this apartment's air conditioner gives a bad name to good air conditioner's everywhere. I spoke to the office by Skype and was told that the air conditioner IS working. I said that the air conditioner was perhaps working but utterly ineffective, and I was told that someone could come in the morning to have a look; I pointed out that I was staying one right, so that was of no help to me. There was no immediate offer to move me to another apartment. I demanded my money back, and I was simply told that a refund was not possible; I replied that that was unacceptable since I had been in the apartment only a few hours, and it was clearly unbearable. Finally, I got an offer of another apartment; why that came 10 minutes into my conversation with the customer service staff I will never know. This company's customer service and the customer service in the country generally really has a lot of growing up to do.

Good value and location.

We had an unforgettable trip to Kiev, witnessing history in the making, the countries fabulous architectural delights and friendly, welcoming people. My friend and I took our 21 year old sons for their birthday presents and for all 4 of us to get so much from a trip is recommendation indeed. The apartment was good overall, but too small for 4 adults, though such good value that I cant really complain - it is perfect for 2. We took an educational tour to Chenobyl which was unforgettable, visited the UNESCO site of Lavra, wandered the streets and soaked up the atmosphere in the square. As vodka was the same price as water we found unwinding of an evening very easy!

Was all very good except that it smelt of smoke and some of the bedding was dirty and unusable. I mentioned this to the staff, which was not really taken any notice of. However on the plus side the transfer to the hotel was excellent and very reasonable.

If you do not need hotel service and an apartment works for you, this is the company to go to. We had a one bedroom with living room (kitchen and bathroom) which looked like it was recently up graded. Air con with remote control, big TV with English channels. Very comfortable and spacious. Staff are great and very professional. Make sure you use their transfer service, which is much easier and cheaper than a taxi. The building is a bit run down but typical of buildings in Kiev, but once in apartment you feel secure and at home. will use them next time for sure.

I felt I got more than I paid for. The place was bigger and better than I expected. The only down side was that the actual room was a little difficult to find. I was given directions, but found a few doors that matched the description I was given and no markings. I was given a code to use and tried it on all of them but none worked. I didn't understand how these old locks work. I needed to push both numbers at the same time. A little printed map with explanation would have been helpful and a marking on the door. Very minor issue considering everything else was very positive.

Good price for location

My apartment was really nice, and I enjoy the fact that was less than 10 min walk to the center of the city. The price that i pay i think it was fair for what i received. The hotel inside is like several apartments and it was going through a small remodelation inside, but didn't bother me becuase i was very little time in my room, I was most of tue time enjoying the city and enjoying ballet and other opera at night.

Great value

This is a guest house and not a hotel. They manage apartments and they are in office starting at 9AM Kiev time - no around the clock lobby. They are very friendly, professional, speak English, and very responsive. The apartment we received was awesome but you do not get to choose the apartment - they assign one to you if you us Expedia. They do have a web site that allows you to select the apartment but it is not Expedia and might be more risky.

We had arrived just before 9 am and were forced to wait on the street for more than an hour before clerk has came and opened an office. It was very rude and unprofessional. If you can't arrange for a overnight service you must at least warn ahead about your schedule.

My only beef with the guest house is the working hours of the reception. The staff come to work at 9:00 AM, and the check-in is at 1 PM. Other than that, they are friendly and reasonably accommodating.

Would stay again. Mostly positive experience.

If you are accostomed to Eastern European layouts the situation is great if not ideal. If you are accostomed to more of a Western European or American layout you might not like this place. A little tricky to find the main entrance as there is only a small sign and I wasn't sure how to call the reception area that is on the second floor. You needed a security code for entry, but I got in when I explained my situation to another person who was entering. Once I was in, reception was fast and smooth. Aparment was in good shape and clean. Hall and corrodor and lift are remicent of Soviet Block housing, but I could see that they are taking steps to make it feel more homey replacing painted concrete with tile, etc. Without any doubts I would stay there again and bring friends or family. I have however lived in eastern europe for several years so I know what to expect. Location is awesome and could not be better. Priced very well. Perhaps because they are still working on some of the details mention in this review.

Hotel building itself was quite poor as with most buildings in Ukraine. The lift sounded like it was going to break down any moment. However, the flat itself was great. Very spacious and clean and had everything you will need for a short-medium stay. Staff was friendly overall. Building faces onto a major road so it can get noisy if you have windows open.

Highly recommended but do not arrive early or late

OK I give it to the people who state the building itself was not so great. I stayed at the building where their main office is located and I can tell you the apartment was superb. It had everything we needed, comes with internet, a living room with TV with cable, iron, ironing board, a fully equiped kitchen with appliances, the bathroom was a plus with a great jacuzzi and everything sparkling clean. The trouble we had was that we arrived very early in the morning and since this is not really a hotel but just apartments, there is no reception. The office opened until 9:00 and they let us leave our suitcases there until check-in at 13:00 (but they were nice enough to let us check in at 12:00 since we were traveling with a baby).
Overall we had a very nice experience and THE BEST THING WAS LOCATION! It is just a block away from the very center of Kiev.

I was traveling on business and chose this hotel due to it's location and that it advertised wi-fi. The location was good but the wi-fi did NOT work during our entire stay. There was a washing machine in the room but it was not connected. They offered to take my clothes and to wash them for me, although this amounted to another inconvienence. The staff was un-helpful and I ended up needing to use a internet cafe for my needs. This was very inconvenient for me as well as costing me additional money. This hotel advertises ammenities that are simply not available. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone that needs internet or has a problem with un-courteous staff.

Had the best experience in this place. Very close to palats sportu metro station. Within 5-7 minutes walk to khreshathk street. Very safe and posh neighbourhood. Check in and check out were easy. Maid very helpful. Staff helped to print out our tickets. Spacious room, jacuzzi was brilliant and so was the kitchen! Beware of any policeman in Ukraine-they want your money at the pretext of asking for your documentation etc!

the Partner Guest House is not a traditional hotel per say it is a collection of rooms/apartments in a collection of buildings 3 or 4. They have an office which acts as their reception/hotel check-in desk, and then they send you out to where your room may be. I believe this is operated more as longer term apartment rentals and also use the business as sort term hotel room bookings. The rooms at least the two I saw were very loudly decorated I would say they were garish and both were totally different in there deco no overall consistency to them. So if you are going for a longer term and know what your in for and your expectations are quite open this may work for you. But for most traditional travelers this probably is not your best option to see Kiev.

The apartment in general was good, though there were some inconveniences. The service is not the best one, and it has several faults. First of all the office of the company is situated in a modified apartment which makes it less presentable. The living apartments are situated not so far from the office though there is no direct public transportation there. The availability of driver saves a situation a bit despite waiting time. The rooms are quite nice, modern and renovated and include everything that is stated in the list. The only problems we had were connected to the bathroom. First, the number of towels is surprisingly small, for 2 people we had 2 big bath towels and 1 small for hands. In addition there were no hooks for hanging them. Availability of hygienic utilities like shower gel etc was also reduced to 1 small plastic bag. This is of course not so important and can be lived through. The biggest problem was with water in the bath: after certain amount of hot water for filling the tub it was becoming cold for at east half an hour. Otherwise the bathroom was nice and the floor heating is very useful especially in winter. But in overall we were satisfied despite these small faults.

I found this hotel a very good place for those familiar with the workings of Ukraine/Russia. It has a great location, was safe, near the center. I understand for those used to traditional hotels this is a significant departure. But, for travelers like myself, I will certainly stay there again.

How do you spell 'service' in Ukrainian?

When we arrived in our apartment the cleaning personnel saw that we were 2 persons, but nevertheless left us with only one blanket and one shower towel. The missing items arrived slowly: after one day the blanket, and after two days – the towels.
The apartment is newly renovated, comfortable and stylish, but the same lack of service spirit has appeared again. Not only kitchen towels were missing, but also a kitchen table and chairs…
Oops, if you bring your computer – remember to bring a network cable, a log one. The hotel provides the router – not the cable. Did we say service?...
The extravagantly large double bed was too big for the bed sheet, and the result is that you sleep on the bare mattress, finding there the hair of the previous guests. Our request for an appropriate bed sheet has been met with a wondering mumble on the other side of the line, as if our English was suddenly too complicated.
Once again we have seen how when it comes to service – you can take a nation out of the Soviet Union, but taking the Soviet out of a nation is quite a different thing. We say this because at the end of the day most of our requests have been met, so you wonder why not providing them in advance in the first place, thus winning the added value of customer satisfaction.
The apartment features a modern Jacuzzi tab; alas – the water heater is placed in a wrong position, thus producing hot water that hardly fills 5 centimeters in the tab. Another example of losing customer satisfaction.
This hotel is usually over-priced in the weekends; week prices can be 50 euros per day, while the weekends can cost even 200 euros per night. This hotel is worth the money only when the prices are around the 60 euros per night or lower.

- Location is perfect

Bad points:
- no service at all
- no help, you're left alone in the wild
- indication on finding your apartment are very-very weak
- information given at front desk were wrong

I am not sure what to conclude but my overall impression is very bad. Of course, if you are looking for an apartment, well located, clean, basic and do not care about not having service, then you can go for it.

Also, a positive point at the end is that you experience more the real life as you really get an apartment and I liked it very much. I just think that they should assist you a LOT more to get settle and installed.

Comfort and facilities are very good but I could not cope with the cable TV installation.
It was a separately located apartment sort of a studio on the ground floor with window bars. Place was very central with a 10 min walk from the nearest underground station and a supermarket close by. For those used to hotel atmosphere that place would seem to be desolate. Entrance is from the dark backyard. You are left to yourself absolutely. Just an impression. During my 3 nights stay all was calm.

OK for the money, if you get a good rate and a good room

If budget matters for you, then this hotel may give good value for the money. The prices vary, however, and so does the quality of the rooms. So, if you are early and get a good rate – take this hotel. When prices go over 60-70 Euro per room per night – start looking for other places. In general, hotels in Kiev are overpriced, compared with prices of transportation, concerts and food in this city.

Our room this time had good basic equipment, but lacked eating table, chairs and a sofa. Also, the noise from the main street was available. Worse was a continuous beep-sound from a car alarm or an electric box outside our window.

We have had several rooms in this hotel, and the best one was in the building of the reception, on No. 19 Baseina Street. The room that we are describing here was 10 minutes walking away from the reception building.

The apartment was very nice with stylish decor and generally a great room. If i was being ultra picky and i mean picky.........the shower clip was broken so i had to rig the handle up with a carrier bag, the room never had a hob, and the broadband connection was lost every morning, which was very annoying. All in all a good experience. The next time i come back to kiev i will definately book again but will ask for a room with a hob!

Partner Apartments Kiev - Near City Center

We booked a ‘small studio’, and got a nice room, in the building of the hotel office, in Baseina Street 19.
It was equipped with everything needed, and free internet.
The fridge and kitchen make it very comfortable. The hotel does not offer breakfast, but you don’t really want to get up early for hotel breakfast, when you can have every thing in the room.
The kitchen, the bath and furniture were nice and modern.
The location near the city center is very good.

The room was offered for a reasonable rate, but during the online reservation it jumped by eight Euros per night. With the hiked price, the room was still a good value for the money, but it was annoying, since booking is a process of comparing and choosing. The mysterious taxes that had been added on top of the quoted price feel like a cheap trick from old days and strange countries.

In our two days in that room, the water stopped once. It is recommended to ask the staff to tell you in advance when the water will stop. They don’t volunteer this information.

We were not sure about our plans, so we booked in advance only two nights. When we decided to stay another five days in Kiev, we were disappointed to hear that our room was not available. We were offered a bigger studio, which costs more. We ended up in a room that was further from the center, with traffic noise, poorer furniture, and no balcony. An ugly plastic divider made it a ‘two rooms’ apartment, and was a cheap excuse to charge more.

We understand that the hotel could not let us stay in the room that we liked, but we never understood why a room that is poorer in every category should cost more. It was cynical, and we felt as if the hotel was taking advantage of our situation.

Enjoy Kiev by staying here.

Very friendly staff with good English skills. My apartment was in the same building as the office, which was convenient. There are three locations in total, so I cannot speak for the other two locations.

Very nice apartment, with modern interior (bright red leather sofa group), and flat screen TV. Large comfortable bed, and all standard kitchen equipment.

Also, the location is excellent, with just a five-minute walk to Kreshatyk Street.

I will most certainly be coming back to this place on my next visit to Kiev!

One drawback is the elevator, though. It is from the dark ages, and when the doors close they make an outrageously loud banging noise, which can be heard inside the apartments.

Partner Guest house have some great little apartments, well not really that little. They are mostly in superb locations a maximum of say 5 minutes walk from Kievs main street. The room are mostly modern and have some cooking facilities, a bath and shower a washing machine and fridge. They are always clean and well presnted. Some of the building look a bit rough from the outside (very Soviet) but the apartment are great and I have now stayed in about 7 or 8 of their places and all were better than the hotel options nearby unless you want to pay alot more. I will always use them.

It is an apartment near the city centre,NOT a hotel/guest house. Good location though.

Do not expect hotel/guest house services because this is not a hotel/guest house. It is a self catering apartment near the city centre. Having said that, the management office is just across the road and the office staff are very helpful and friendly. For adventurous traveller, it is a good experience. The apartment is renovated to high modern standard from an old building in a side street. Got air conditioning and jacuzzi and very spacious. Can't get this with the same money if it is a hotel. Be aware that because it is an old building and at side street, the first impression is a bit uncomfortable. Once you go inside the flat, it is OK. I felt safe all the time and the location is really central with easy access to underground and taxi.
