Great hotel in middle of Montepulciano ancient city, our hosts were very pleasant and helpful, Roberto is super fun to talk with and shared me lots of tips for rest of trip in Italy. The terrace on top of the building is special, you can find mature trees growing on it, very quiet place to have breakfast and chill during evening. Very happy I booked that hotel, would go back without hesitation.

The best part about Montepulciano was Roberto, the owner and his wife of the hotel. He welcomed us with open arms and made us feel at home. His energy is contagious. He gave us great recommendations for dinner and things to do. We had a lovely stay and were sad to leave. Absolutely recommend this hotel. It is convenient with multiple access to exit and enter. It’s close to the piazza, shopping and food.

What an incredible experience! We absolutely adored our stay with Roberto and Vittoria. The hotel is so cosily decorated and Roberto and Vittoria give you true Italian family hospitality - you feel like part of the family and you’re given a great introduction to Montepulciano with a drive around with Roberto when you first arrive. Roberto and Vittoria were also so kind with our 9 month old baby, who utterly adored them. Vittoria’s breakfast cakes are divine too!!

LOCATION, LOCATION. Roberto's hotel is at the heart of the med-evil city. He and his wife are very welcoming. Provides free car park and is within walking distances of all that Montepulciano has to offer. This is our second time staying there, and will do so again. Bravo!

Rent a car and drive the Tuscan countryside and stay at this hotel in Montepulciano. Roberto and his wife (princess) Elda were amazing and entertaining hosts. The hotel is right in the shopping and dining district, and there are multiple streets and sights to explore. Every few blocks there is another perch from which to look out over the incredible countryside. The room was large and beautiful, and you can hear the shoppers and diners down below the window. Walk up to the Piazza Grande in the center of town.

A great place to stay and Roberto and his wife are excellent hosts. It's hard to find following a maps app; park at P6, don't drive anything but a small car there, and walk from P6 through the small stairway and alley, don't follow the map! The hotel has 2 entrances, be prepared for lots of steps and dark stairways. But it's worth it!

Breakfast was amazing and rooms quaint. A bit hot but it was July during a hot spell. I would highly recommend Roberto and his property. The route is well marked to get to his place but Google maps does not take you to the right place. We got lost (thanks Google) and called him and he found us. He drove us down to our car and escorted us up to his place to park for the night. The room was clean and comfortable. We got a tour of the property too. It is central to all of Montepulciano so wine tasting and having dinner is just a short walk back. We did not have breakfast but we will when we go back.

We were traveling in Tuscany and needed a place to stay in Montepulciano. Hotel La Terrazza is located near the top of the old town and close to all of the attractions. There are three restaurants right at the base of the hotel. The hotel owner is very nice and took care of us from the time we came in until we left. He knows a lot about the area and can help with anything you need. Breakfast included order made coffee / cappuccino, fresh pastries, fruit, meat and cheese plate, and other packaged items. More than enough for what we needed. Rooms were little dated but clean and comfortable. Wifi worked well. I would stay here again.

You will not believe the graciousness of our host Roberto. He met us at the door and you would think we were the only people who ever stayed at his hotel. Service could not have been better. Roberto went above and beyond - he even drove to meet us and lead us back to the hotel. His personality was the absolute best. Vittoria's baking was excellent as her fresh baked cakes were a part of the great breakfast. Rooms have the medieval atmosphere- dark and on the cool side but are roomy. Traveling is experiencing how others live and interact. To meet and interact with others is the essence of travel. Meeting the owner Roberto was one of the highlights of our 5 week trip throughout Europe. The guy is personable, friendly and truely goes way above in service to his customers. The hotel is located center city within minutes of everything you might want to see. It's got FREE parking on the street right outside (call first and Roberto will come down the hill to get you to follow him up, so you don't get a ticket for entering the resident restricted zone).

This was our third Tuscan Hill Town, and it was a very good hotel in a great town. The proprietor made every effort to help us find the place given the winding streets of Montepulciano, since our GPS was not very accurate to home us in on the address. As it happens, the hotel is located equally between the lower and upper town. We advise to call the hotel as you are coming in, so you can be directed to a church parking lot as a rendezvous point. Our room was on ground floor, as we'd requested. Our friendly host sent us to good restaurants, and gave us a nice breakfast. Recommended for those who want a homey feel and don't mind vintage furnishings.

LaTerrazza - a real find!!!!
Roberto - owner, is very welcoming and accommodating; what a hoot! Hotel is very good value; extremely clean; and, well positined for touring the town. Only downside is finding the place even using Google Maps. Neither Roberto nor police were much help - took one hour to find once we hit the main town entrance. However, parking out front with a permit even.on checkout day is a definite plus. Overall, a winner!!!

Nice alternative for Montepulciano
This is nicely maintained hotel located in the middle of town. Roberto the innkeeper is very accommodating but be prepared for the 10-15 min introduction to the facilities which is an experience-- a bit overbearing. Parking is free, but navigating the windy streets through the hill town is challenging --that's an understatement. We stopped by the tourist info center at the N end of town and they nicely highlighted the map we needed to follow, returning first to enter at the N end of town. The breakfast is great, and in nice weather is in one of the few pocket gardens in town. Downside is that there is no view from the hotel and its rooms, and can feel a bit claustrophobic. But overall would stay again.

A wonderfully warm welcome. I was immediately made to feel right at home. Roberto and Vittoria were fantastic hosts. My room was spacious with plenty of light, and perfectly clean. The double bed was very comfortable. Breakfast is plentiful, although I will probably never get used to the Italian habit of eating cake for breakfast. But there is also cheese, ham, yoghurt, fruit, fruit juice, coffee/tea and croissants. There are a couple of outside spaces to sit and relax. The hotel is right in the middle of the town, but still quiet. I would not stay anywhere else in Montepulciano and I hope to return some day.
