Great location when visiting Assisi. Staff was great and breakfast was one I’d go back for seconds. Only downside was no AC and it was fairly warm for an October evening. So we had to sleep with the windows open which wasn’t the most quiet rest we got.

This hotel was just outside one of the gates of old Assisi. It was also right next to a bus stop. We had no need to rent a car. after we got off the train, we just took the city bus up the hill to the hotel. Assisi is such a walkable city! The breakfast offered every morning was amazing! The front desk staff were fantastic… So helpful!

Super helpful staff. Our bags were lost by the airline, and the front desk helped me with a phone call to our prior hotel in Rome where they had been delivered. Super close to the piazza. We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff were super friendly, the room had comfortable beds, strong air conditioning, and new bathroom fixtures. Breakfast was also really good with lots of choices within a continental type. The hotel is located just outside the historical city gates, and it’s still walkabke to get to the Basilica on the other side of town.

Great location especially if you are driving to Asissi, if traveling in October and you need AC to sleep make sure to call the hotel first as they shut down central AC early October. Overall very clean and friendly staff and great breakfast.

The hotel is in a very good location, just outside city walls. Parking available against an additional fee. A little noisy since it is in between streets. If there are double glazed windows, the ones in our room did not do their job! Some rooms have no view at all! B'Fast very nice and very good. Pillows not comfortable. Neither Welcome nor Farewell Drink - although we paid the full extra fee.

Room large and clean. On suite is a wet room rather than toilet and shower cubicle which is not everyone’s cup of tea. Location was right close to town a few minutes walk and you are in Assisi main square should no complaints there. Only downside was breakfast nothing cooked and if you’re late all the pastries will have gone. Just the usual breakfast cakes,cheese and meats, if you are used to a typical European breakfast then no worries. From Uk something more substantial is needed and you would feel the 8.5 Euro a little steep.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent three-day stay at this welcoming, friendly and professionally managed small Assisi hotel. Situated at the top of a hill and just outside the city wall, it is in an ideal location for walking to the many religious and historic highlights. The continental breakfast is diverse and ample, and the cappuccino machine is a nice feature. During our stay we moved from an older room with an awkward bathroom step to a beautifully updated and more comfortable room with a modern bathroom.
Besides the churches and historic highlights, there are also many good restaurants and interesting shops within the walls. An added convenience is that the hotel is situated very close to a bus stop, making it convenient for visiting the more distant and amazing Basilica of Santa Maria Degli Angeli.
The easily accessed parking lot on the hotel property is a bonus for tourists with cars.

The Hotel is just outside the city walls with splendid views over the valley from our room. We arrived early and were welcomed. The hotel has its own parking which is worth booking (especially in the summer months). We were given a map of the city and points of interest were pointed out by the staff and restaurant possibilities for our evening meal were suggested - we chose one and it was excellent.
It is a pleasant 10 minute stroll into the city centre.

One night stand and it was great for parking, breakfast, condition and proximity to the town of Assisi. Reviews told me it would be good. It was great. After about a dozen visits to Assisi over the years, this has to be the best accommodations. Hope we can get in next time.

Good deal, but watch your step
Arrived just before midnight, but called ahead, so they were waiting for me. Not a 24-hour desk. No late night bar or restaurant nearby. Room comfortable and adequate. Watch out for an unexpected step at bathroom door - a common inconvenience in many European rooms. Good breakfast included. Stored my bag for free while I toured the next day. Bus to train station stops on street below.

Cleaning staff at the hotel was very rude I went out for a walk and when I came back they took out my wife with all the luggage even when she was feeling sick, 10 min just after check out time, and they were arguing that I was still in the room when I was at the city.

Perfect location if you have a car. Had its own parking lot right in front. Hotel located just outside the city gates. Able to be in the heart of Assisi within a minute. Bed was fairly firm but not so hard that you felt like you were sleeping on the floor. Breakfast provided had a good selection. Our room faced the road, which runs right beside it, so did get some road noise at night as on the bus and truck route. A/c worked well, which was good as smelt like cat urine if you opened the windows.

We received a very warm welcome when we arrived about an hour before check in time. We were even shown to our room with features pointed out to us, something that rarely happens these days.
The room was newly renovated and very attractive and the bathroom was gorgeous with a huge shower with a rainfall shower head.
Breakfast was very good with a great range of options, and the Umbrian cheese and bread was fantastic. The coffee machine made a slightly weak cappuccino, but it was bearable.
My only complaint would be that the bed was a little too firm for my taste, but my husband really liked it.

This hotel was great. The service was excellent and the breakfast was delicious and filling (a rarity in italy). The location is very convenient and close to the city centre but accessible from the main bus. Dont expect the four seasons but very quaint and friendly for visits to Assisi.

The hotel was well located near to one of the gates to Assisi. Easy to find and we were able to park at the hotel. We had booked a triple room which had been overlooked but the hotel found a double and single which was absolutely fine. Even in October the air con would have been a bonus but it appeared not to work. Breakfast - good. Would recommend it as a base for Assisi.

The hotel is very convenient (50 meters) from the Porta Nuova bus stop -- the driver will let you off there if asked. The breakfast was better than most Italian hotels with meats and cheeses in addition to brioche.

This hotel is right outside the ancient gate to Assisi. We drove to the hotel and they have parking right out front and we walked from there into the town. the hotel is comfortable and they have really modernized the rooms. The shower was excellent. The breakfast buffet was also excellent and they are pressing expresso per order. Being vegetarian I found plenty to eat. The only thing we found a bit funky was the internet connection. You will need to get a separate code for each of your devices and the code is good for a limited amount of time. I would stay there again.

Although it was the first day of their new season everything in the hotel was clean and working well. During what was a very cold spell of weather the room - which was immaculate and very well equipped - was very warm. I have often found that breakfasts included in the cost of a hotel room are disappointing. Not this one - there was a good selection of perfectly good quality food. Really set us up for the day. For any cat lovers - I am one - the hotel has a delightful and playful tabby cat called Camilla. The fact that free parking is included in the price really did make the whole experience one of comfort and convenience.

The biggest drawback to the hotel was that we could not find it. I would recommend this hotel to anyone but be VERY CAREFUL to map out where it is in advance - the GPS could not find it, and even the locals had trouble finding it. Also, Puorta Nuova is the name for a gate going into Assisi - you can see the hotel FROM it, but if you ask about Puorta Nuova, that is what Locals think.
What's more, we picked the hotel because it had free parking, which means we drove. I would not drive to Assisi because it is on a mountain. But the parking lot was well maintained and in a quiet spot.
My husband thought the room was a little dirty, but I thought it was very cozy and pretty. I could have stayed a few more nights.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Porto Nuova very much. A long way from the train station, but handy enough to the town itself. Vast difference in the cab fare between coming, costly and going which was half as much. The hotel breakfast was very good, plenty of choice and pleasant local. The deck on the upper floor outside and inside were enjoyable. The woman on the desk ain the late afternoon and evening was very helpful re where to eat and how to get train tickets for our departure. Our one complaint is that the air conditioning wa off for the season and the days were still hot.

This Hotel is just outside the mid evil walls of Assisi. It is about 5-10 minute walk to St Clare's Basilica. Then about another 25 minutes to St Francis Basilica. Do note that parts of this walk is up some stiff hilly streets. Make sure you are wearing good walking attire.
