I would like to start this review with ... I was in awe when we went inside our room, it felt like 5 stars hotel, the room seemed like a picture taken from a home decorating magazine, room was furnished with very good taste. In the morning we had petite dejeuner and I felt like being in a very expensive hotel, there was nothing to dislike about this property, in fact I highly recommend it when visiting Santa Margherita Ligure

Very comfortable hotel and one of the best we stayed in during a tour of Liguria. Cfortble rooms, some with balconies, nice outdoor patio and interior public space. One caution to travelers not with a group: the hotel’s attractive common areas make it a favorite of tour groups, these will overwhelm the hotel at times: you may walk a little farther but the two sister properties, particularly the Sant’Andrea, offer a more individual and caring experience.
We did not dine in the hotel, but those we spoke too gave the restaurant high marks

Was highly disappointed with this hotel. Would consider it more of a 2 star hotel than 3 star. Staff was not very helpful upon arrival. No one offered to help me to my room whicj is standard practice in hospitality. My safe was broken upon arrival. Room had no hot running water. Had to change rooms 3 times because of issues with the room. No one helped me move each time I had to move. They just handed me new keys and told me to move to the new room. Won’t be back to this place. Not a good stay.

Lovely little hotel in a super location - really central, yet very quiet! - in Santa Margherita. We stayed here a few years ago & it was great to go back. The service was as excellent as we remembered it. The breakfast is good (again super service) but not that extensive in terms of choice.

Service was great from start to finish! Hotel is very stylish and the rooms pleasant. Great to park outside and have the car moved to a secure space whilst we were there too. We’ll come again. Oh and the food was fabulous!

The hotel was perfectly located and well equipped but what made this hotel stand out was their amazing staff especially the head receptionist, Francesco. He was so accommodating and helpful and spoke english very well. We arrived at 11 am and he had our car valeted, took our luggage to hold on too an told us he would get our room ready within the hour. When we asked for suggestions he always had delightful ideas to share. Then when we asked to keep the car until 3 the day of check out they didn't blink an eye and stored our car in their basement garage the extra 2 hours for us so we could enjoy the day in Portofino. We highly recommend this hotel especially for the price. The decor is delightful to boot and we were provided a yummy breakfast.

The staff and especially the front desk lady Marisa was very helpful. She gave us hints upon arrival and if it wasn’t for her we could be able to catch the ferry to go to Portofino

Well, the hotel entrance is super nice and offers a really good breakfast. However, the room did not meet our expectation to be honest. Room was in bad condition and they need to refurbished it or renovated it at least. Additionally, the room was not clean enough at a proper level and overall we were not happy at all with the room.

Our stay in the Hotel Jolanda truly exceeded all our expectations. For the price it is the best hotel we have stayed in Italy. Very well located, we were able to take short walks everywhere we wanted. Super clean, cute, and comfortable. But above all outstanding service of those who greeted us late at night when we arrived tired. Our room received tons of natural light and also had electric shutters to black out at night. The bathroom was new and super duper with white linens and Frette robes.

The Hotel.com stated self parking. I requested free parking well in advance. When checking into the hotel was told that parking is 15E per day. Should have been informed at the time of booking.
Hotel was good but found that the mattress was very hard.
Apart from the parking problem, the staff were friendly and helpful.

This is an older establishment but is clean and well maintained. We liked the location as it was reasonably close to the train station. We walked to the hotel after arriving from Milan. It was a few minutes from the centre of town which meant it was quieter. It's a lovely walk past the shops to the water front area, which is a busy place.

When we arrived the desk manager offered to have the \"queen\" size bed separated into two twin beds to make things easier for my mother and myself. We really appreciated it and the room size accommodated the change. We stayed at the hotel at the recommendation of a friend and would definitely recommend it ourselves. The staff are very friendly and helpful. See you next time.

Jolanda is a lovely hotel as are all of the staff who work there. The woman who works at the front desk is very welcoming, helpful and efficient . It was wonderful staying at this hotel and I wish I had been able to stay longer than one night. The breakfast was in the garden which was a nice treat.

We based ourselves in Santa Margherita for 5 nights and did day trips by ferry, train and bus to several nearby destinations. Portifino, San Fruttuoso, Camogli, Ravello and even visited Cinque Terre. We had a small balcony off the bedroom with table & chair. Breakfast was a feast to choose from. Didn’t disappoint. The hotel has a restaurant and is 2 minutes walk from fruit shops, cafes, restaurants, Santa Margherita Church and 5 minutes from the Jetty to get your ferry & also the bus stop. We walked down from the railway station all downhill with carry on luggage it took about 10 minutes. Beautiful flat esplanade overlooking the water.

The location of this hotel is perfect. Our room was terrible. We were on the 5th floor next to elevator and service supplies. Walls are thin and you can hear people talking down the hall. You can hear the people in the next room especially when in bathroom with water running. Every door closure and people walking in hallways could be heard in our room. Bed uncomfortable and bathroom tiny...don't drop the soap in the shower. Breakfast very standard and same every morning.

Hotel close to everything. Absolutely a classy place. Breakfast was excellent and again very classy. Front desk (Mariza) was very very helpful. There is a very nice restaurant for lunch and dinner as well. We did not eat there but it sure was nice looking. The only negative is our room was on a very busy street so a little noisy but tolerable. Would stay again.

Hotel Jolanda is an easy walk to downtown. The lady at the reception desk was accommodating. We had some communication difficulties with another employee. We were upgraded to a different room but found the walls very thin and traffic noise a problem. The bathroom was newly renovated and nice. Parts of the hotel (lobby) looked lovely but the rest of the hotel was not a 4 star hotel. Perhaps this hotel is in a transition?

Ideal spot to enjoy Santa Margherita

Lovely hotel just off the main beach promenade and in easy reach of everything. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking a bonus albeit it must have been under a tree, so needed a good wash when we got home!
Breakfast was also good; they have a coffee machine but if you ask they will make 'proper' coffee for you, and also eggs rather than just boiled in the hot water holder.

I had a very enjoyable stay at Hotel Jolanda. The location of the hotel is very convenient: It's only 6 minutes away from the train station and 4 minutes from the sea. The staff is extremely friendly and is eager to help. The breakfast buffet had lots of options including eggs and fresh squeezed juices, and the dining room staff was going out of their way to make sure everyone was pleased. The cappuccinos they make are simply amazing, and the happy attitude they do it with are admirable. My room had everything I could wish for: a very comfortable bed with 4 (!!!) pillows, a mini fridge, a hair dryer, and even a wine opener and a bottle opener. They, literally, thought of everything to make you feel comfortable away from home. Even though the hotel is located in the center of the town, the room was very quiet. If i ever come back to Santa Margherita, I will most definitely stay at Hotel Jolanda again, and I highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

A traditional hotel slightly more reasonable in price from the waterfront hotels, however still expensive compared to other resorts in Italy. The room with balcony was a good size but showing some signs of needing a refurbish. Although there was a kettle in the room there was no coffee or milk. There are a few supermarkets nearby. The receptionists were a bit frosty and did not give any details on facilities, I.E breakfast times, spa facilities etc. However the breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Avoid the machine coffe and go for a cappuccino, although this is an extra. Overall a nice place to stay as a base for the area

I needed a place to stay because I was in the city to scuba dive. A decent location, close to the train station (I did take a taxi because I had my equipment) and within easy walking to all the restaurants. Great service. My only issue was that the bathroom's trash can had not been emptied. Other than that, a terrific hotel and I would definitely recommend it!!

A very nice hotel but.....

I would have given higher scores for our stay if it was not for the disappointing night manager who did not appear to want to assist when the air conditioning unit refused to work. We were on the first floor and the room was on a very busy street corner and hence leaving the window open was not an option due to noise. The manager who's was more interested in talking to a personal visitor behind the reception desk offered to try and rectify the problem but actually did nothing. For the price charged this attitude was infuriating. However, the hotel is very well presented and the breakfast and courtyard etc are really very nice.

Recommend this lovely hotel.

Nice hotel within walking distance to the train station, the town centre and Marina. We walked from the hotel all the way to Portofino about an hour easy walk. A choice of good nearby restaurants. The hotel staff were always helpful. Breakfast buffet had many good choices. Able to borrow bikes to get arround town. Small gym also available for use by hotel guests was a nice suprise. Had a very enjoyable stay.

Historic, affordable gem in heart of S. Margherita

Hotel is well located near town square and has a lovely breakfast. Decor is heavily Italianate but very clean. Reception service was friendly and very helpful with leaving luggage etc. Internet wifi connection in rooms was slow but adequate. Hotel met all our needs.

The room was basic but very comfortable. The hotel is only a couple of minutes walk to SML and 5 minute walk from the train station (we did the walk with cases). We had one English speaking tv channel unlike most other Italian hotels. The weather was awful when we arrived so we went to the gym in the basement which was great! Good equipment, well maintained and lovely room. The breakfast was definitely one of the best we had in Italy with a great selection. If returning to SML I would stay at this hotel again, definitely value for money.

Spending time in Santa Margherita

We loved our time in Santa Margherita and would come back. It has everything you need from beaches, bars and restaurants and shopping. The people are friendly and it is a very pretty place where you can do day trips to lots of places.
