Let's start with the fact that the staff were horribly disrespectful, rude, and had major misunderstandings of how you treat customers. I had an employee cuss me out, the room had roaches. Noises inside kept me up all night. The night shift staff slept behind the desk and was unavailable the whole night. Day shift desk person was disrespectful. 0/10

It was just a sub-par hotel. The shower head had a leak that sprayed all over and it took 2 days to get someone to fix it. The breakfast offering were meager and I had to tell them on 2 occasions that they’d run out. The coffee was bad. The room was clean but just old and dreary. There was no stopper in the sink so you could lose items down the sink if you weren’t careful. The toilet had a seat but no lid. Just sub-par.

We had stayed there the last few years for an event, in the last year the place has gone downhill really badly.
It appears that they quit doing maintenance to the place.

The toilet in our room leaked water at the base/floor, we put towels around it to soak it up.

Breakfast was a joke, the waffle batter had separated to a yellow sludge and water in the dispenser.
It literally boiled when it hit the waffle maker and I spent 5 minutes picking crap bits of what was supposed to be a waffle out of it.
The wife sad I shouldn't have bothered, but I don't like to leave any mess that I create.

Motel staff standing there totally ignored us when telling other motel guests not to even try getting a waffle from it.

I guess that we should have expected it to be bad experience since when we originally arrived d a police car was there with flashing lights on talking to people in the lobby.

The room was clean, but damaged shower covered a leak with a plastic cup.
Breakfast was very poor. Not much of a selection.
As we were leaving, I wanted to fill my water cup. When I tried, the water didn't work. When I pointed it out to staff, they said that they turned it off at 9 am. It was 9 am.

this hotel is the most disgusting,nasty, an rude staff ever.
the room was nasty the furniture looked it came from a junk yard,nothing in the room but a couple towels in the bathroom, no coffee or creamer,or cups, but i guess the free cockroaches in the room an all on the 2nd floor,an in the dinning area for the breakfast,we skipped to do the bugs, yuk. an the doors did not lock on the exterior of the building so anyone could come an go as they wanted. the the best was ever floor smelled like marijuana in the halls but this was a smoke free hotel. this place need shut done ,an reported to the health board of Illinois. DON'T STAY AT THIS HOTEL

stayed at the Quality Inn Carbondale University and overall had a pleasant experience. The room was clean and comfortable, which I really appreciated. When we arrived, the receptionist wasn’t at the front desk, and I had to call the hotel for someone to come check us in. However, once he arrived, he was very friendly and helpful, which made up for the short wait.

The breakfast was just okay — they offered toast, bagels, make-your-own waffles, yogurt, cereal, milk, coffee, orange juice, and a small fresh fruit basket. It was enough to start the day but could use a bit more variety.

Overall, it was a clean and friendly place to stay, good for a quick trip or overnight visit.

The hotel needs major updates. It screams they don't clean. The hallways had the same piece of paper for 2 days. No one decided to pick it up. A faint smell. When our room was cleaned trash was removed but the bed covers were just pushed up to the pillows. The comfort of the bed was good. The TV remote control barely worked. Bathroom didn't feel clean and the workers were looking at us like we were ghosts. It was ok for a weekend stay just to sleep.

I won't return.

On the bright side, staff were very friendly. Building seems to be in disrepair. No ceiling on overhead area where you park to check in with electrical wires hanging within reach. Our room was missing outlet cover, candy wrappers on floor, coffee maker missing tray to hold coffee (so couldn't be used) and we came across a roach in the bathroom. Alside from that, great stay.

We drove through the parking lot. Saw a drug deal and a motel that is rotting away. Paper over some windows. We had a truck full of my items that were going to have to stay in truck overnight. Did not feel safe leaving the truck in the lot. Did not check in. Went elsewhere. Lost the $, but it is so inaccurately displayed on Expedia, I don’t think I will use Expedia again

This place should have been condemned and torn down years ago. This place is a dumpster that is meant for Methany and Haroldoin, not travelers visiting family. The manager and his wife are the most miserable people ever. His wife looks like she’s one vacuuming away from offing herself with the cord. Their idea of “breakfast” is old stale cereal, waffle mix that is 3/4 oil and moldy old fruit. The toilet in my room had a big glob of blood and a clot at the base. Nobody came to clean it for three days. I didn’t use my bathroom for 72 hours, choosing to walk to the fast food place and do my business. I showered at the gym. Luckily I bring my own sheets and blankets/pillows everywhere I travel because Methany and Haroldoin left stains. I had no choice but to stay as this website refused to refund me. Thanks Expedia. You truly are some greedy MFs to keep renting this landfill out to people.

When pulling into the hotel at first glance it looked abandoned. I grew up in this town and this hotel was not like this a coupe years ago.. my son was just born about 6 months ago and i had him with us. I went to check the room first for cleanliness but not to any suprised there were food and soda stains on the walls. The beds had stains all over them. Fresh cup rings onnthe counter tops and thr bathrooms. Dont get me started. Forhow much they charge they should be ashamed for staying open.

I have always found that Quality Inn is a convenient, clean, and affordable location in Carbondale. A person can catch the bus nearby at the Kroger store or across the highway at Walmart. Also, there is a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant about one block down from the motel.

This was not what I expected from Quality Inns, I always look for your motels when traveling because of cleanliness and great service,and affordability. I dont even know what all over the walls. My bed didn't have a fitted sheet, only 2 top sheets - which had what appeared to be pubic hair on them. Do not recommend.

Terrible. Took smelled like smoke. Sink, and lamp shades had stains from cigarette smoke. There was a hole by the piping of the sink. Tissue box had no tissue in it. Water pressure in the shower was nice but shower bar was broken which did not keep the curtain covering the tub- water easily got all over the floor. Hallways smelled like piss and vomit and the flooring was very uneven and bumpy. Are they even up to code?

Kind of disappointing.

The drapes were mismatch and shredded. There were muddy footprints on the tile in the hallway our entire stay. We were there for 2 days and they were never cleaned. The \"continental breakfast\" was a couple containers of yogurt and some toast. The room had a weird musty smell when we got into the room. We had called a week early to see if we could get an early check in, they said we could not do noon, but 1 should be no problem. When we got to town we were there around noon. I called and asked if they would be able to do a noon, the man told me no and we would not be able to do an early check in at all, even though we were told a week prior we would be able to. We ended up getting to the hotel around 1 and figured we would go in and see if they could do an early check in. He told us he did not think he would be able to, then gave us our room keys 3 minutes later. The room served the purpose of giving us a place to stay, but definitely not the best place to stay. Definitely get what you pay for here.

The hotel should be condemed. It stunk and the carpets were all stained. The pool vending machines were not working. The morning breakfast was lacking alot. The parking had garbage everywhere. I did not feel safe there. I could go on and on. This was the last time i stay at a Quality Inn.

Only acceptable if you're on a budget

My room was okay, but my coworkers room whom was booked under my account had a rough stay. Her room had burns on the mattress, a broken handle on the dresser, and hair on the \"clean\" towels. To make matters worse, when we arrived, her comforter had obvious stains on it, and when she asked for new sheets, the hotel employees gave her still stained set of sheets, just warm this time from the drier. The breakfast was okay, but several food items were stale. Only stay if you are on a budget, I will not be returning.

My sheets had stains, when I informed the front desk, they gave me sheets to put on myself, which were also stained. The room had a very musty smell, and the “breakfast” consisted of coffee, cereal, one gallon of milk in a cooler, and a single waffle maker with no batter in sight. Had I not pre paid through a 3rd party, I would have demanded my money back and go to any other hotel.

Liked: friendly and helpful staff, breakfast, AC was not noisy and worked well, comfortable bed, the window could be opened and exited as fire escape if needed.
Disliked: No pool, several patrons were noisy, window of ground floor was not locked; I was concerned about how easy it would be for someone to open from outside. I was unable to lock the window, but the night manager did secure it with great difficulty, room 110

Turn the a/c on in the rooms you're booking. lol

My only real complaint would be that we checked in at 9 pm and when we went into our room the a/c was turned off and since it was a 100 degree day the room felt like a sauna. It was HOT in there. It took hours for the a/c to coll it down. It a good thing that we would never have a need for a landline phone in the room since the phone outlet was taken off the wall and there was no cord/wire from the phone to it anyway. LOL
