During the week I stayed at the hotel, I developed a skin irritation on my body. I believe it was caused by the bed sheets, which were contaminated with bacteria. I took an antihistamine, and by the following week, I had recovered; I moved to another hotel and did not experience this problem again! I have never had this issue happen to me before!

I usually don’t leave reviews, but my experience at this hotel was so bad I feel compelled to share it to warn other travelers. I previously worked in the hospitality industry and understand you get what you pay for. I don’t expect a five-star experience from a budget hotel - just the basics: a clean bed, a clean shower, WiFi, and a mini fridge. I’ve stayed in many cheap hotels that met these expectations. This one did not. This was the filthiest hotel I’ve ever seen. There were large dark brown and red stains/globs all over the walls. The floors had severe water damage and was uneven and cracked. There was visible mold on the wall next to the AC unit. The peephole was busted out and had a Kleenex stuffed inside. Long black hairs were all over the bathroom counter and shower. The toilet was clogged immediately upon check-in and clearly hadn’t been cleaned as there were urine stains on the lid and seat. The comforter was covered in stains as well. When I went downstairs to notify the front desk, the lady there went into another room and slammed the door so loud that the windows rattled. I waited for 5 minutes or longer and she never came out. There are plenty of decent, affordable hotels available. There is absolutely no excuse for the condition of this room, and I’m shocked this property is advertised on Expedia. Don’t let the pictures they advertise fool you as the rooms look nothing like what is advertised - avoid this hotel at all costs.

I’ve never stayed in such filthy conditions in my life. The walls and linens looked like literal crime scenes. Even the most basic swipes at cleaning have been ignored for so many years that there would be no reason to complain. Staff was nice but it was very difficult to get a 3rd and 4th towel (despite me checking in 4 people). i had to go to the office twice and beg. That said it was cheap-cheap so I guess I got what I paid for. A good value if you want a comfy-ish bed, an oversized tv, and don’t mind stewing in other peoples body fluids.

Enjoyed the stay. Staff was accommodating to our late check-in. We had put out arrival was to be at 130am we ran into traffic, we didn’t arrive till 3am. The gentleman checking us in was so nice and friendly. The checkout staff in the morning were very nice as well. I will stay here again!!!!

The room was clean and neat. It had the most comfortable bed! Only one problem, the curtain left a gap on one side. Anyone could look straight in and see the whole room because of a strategically placed wall mirror. That issue was easily corrected by tucking the curtain in the door before closing it. I didn't see any evidence of bug activity. I would stay there again.

I arrived late at night. I simply picked up a phone by the door, and a nice gentleman came to check me in. I received my door key, and went to the room. This is the first hotel I have ever felt fine enough to walk around without socks on. The entire room was very clean. The area was quiet until morning around 7AM, but until then, silent. The heat worked great, the pillows were nice and comfortable, the bed was comfortable; I have no complaints regarding my stay at this hotel. I most definitely will be staying here again in the future. Thank you so much to the owners, for being so kind, friendly, and caring about the rooms the way you do.

I booked the property at 12:24 in the morning they have plenty of availability but the man the manager who obviously was living there, refused to allow me to check in because the insisted it was for the next day or rather later that same day after 3:00 p.m. I explained to him that I it was my error but I needed the room for that evening and I had already paid for it and he still refused to allow me access, I probably could have lived with that but he was extremely rude and disagreeable

The room rate here is about half of other hotels in Marion (yay!) and this is the only reason to stay here. The bed was comfortable but blanket was old and showed its age, and don’t expect the same amenities as the other hotels. Rooms here still have the huge window wall and those under the window AC units so the room has isn’t super dark, evenly heated or cooled, and you hear the cars and people in the parking lot. Make plans to eat breakfast elsewhere, theirs is literally just muffin ina plastic bag, two kinds of cereal with milk, or yogurt, nothing else.

So using a third party to reserve a room leaves you all in. If you ended up neefing to leave ypu cannot be refunded. I also dislike the fact that people are very rude an noisy. No respect for people in other rooms. Walk by as loud as they can be.. maybe i got in late and was sleeping in? No not now becarude of loud noisy people.

I mistakenly booked a room there intending to reserve on another property. I went to the front desk within a couple of hours after booking and told the attendant that I would not need the reservation. The attendant told me she could not help me and that I would be charged for the room, regardless. Expedia was also not help and does not seem to care about the experience of their customers.

Though I know rooms cannot be guaranteed, my friend who walks with a cane at 75 years old had to walk upstairs to the room. We requested a downstairs. There are no handrails in the bathroom. There is no handicap room. It made me sad. We won't go back. I believe the new owners are trying to make it better. I believe they will do so.

I am a solo nurse traveling for work and I was greatly satisfied. They made check-in super easy, I was close to the building in a well lit area and felt very safe. My accommodation was extremely clean. And leaving for work again early ,they made check out very easy as well. The front desk staff was friendly, courteous ,helpful ,and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this location to o my coworkers.

There really wasn't anything I didn't like. I was traveling within NC, and I needed a place to stay on Friday night. Marion area motels were cheaper than those in the Asheville area. I have stayed in Marion before and I liked it. Desk personnel were friendly and helpful. Everything (TV, bed, shower, etc.) worked fine. I would stay there again.

Curtain could not be closed last foot allowing no privacy with strangers walking outside to view us inside and office gave us Scotch tape for US to fix it.
Refrigerator was so loud it had to be unplugged.
Air Conditioner was ridiculously loud from worn out blower fan so had to turn off.
I requested king bed and got queen and was informed the motel doesn’t offer king beds!

Older building that some renovations have been completed but it still easily shows its age. The mattress was good and so was the hot water. The room appeared to be clean. The rate was cheaper than others in the area so the adage that you get what you pay for apples. Road noise was a little higher than desired. It was ok for a 1 night stay.

From the time we went to check in it was the worse experience for me. The staff/owner were the rudest people and had no respect for us nor cared to try we get to room and its dirty i cleaned the floors and tub so my kids could take a bath then get charged for soiled towels...mind you soiled from cleaning their room that should have been clean for us. We left the next day and they decide not to refund our money for the room either because we were late checking out, yes by 30min when we were gonna stay but because we had such a bad experience we said nope not another night, any other hotel ive ever stayed at usual gives u a little more grace then 11 and thats that. Honestly i never hated hotels until we stayed there and now id question staying at another one it was all around worse time ever for my family and I highly recommend trying a different location if possible

The room needed repairs to the clothes hanging unit. It was out of the wall and hard to hang clothes when it is hanging off the wall.
There was not enough coffee and tea bags to use for the day in and the next morning.

The room I stayed in was noisy. You could hear the road outside. I stepped out of bed into a brown wet substance the first night. They came in to clean the room and took my dirty towels but didn’t leave me clean ones. I had one towel for my shower and hand towel. It’s what to expect from a cheap hotel. The only think I have to say good was the bed was soft.

Ms. Donna was so helpful and very friendly. Everyone we encountered that worked there was very nice. My family and I enjoyed our stay, and we will stay again when we go back to the area. The price was perfect for my budget and the accommodations were just right. It was a little noisy at night with the trucks going by, but that can be expected since it is right off a main road.

Good place for an overnight as price is right. Clean enough. Smells clean. Bed topper has a stain on it. I pulled it back to bottom of bed. Bed is comfy. Older facility. No restaurants closer than 10 min away in town. This is just off of I-40 but way out on the outskirts of town. No regrets in my stay for the overnight. Did the trick.

The person at the desk was nice but the property was not in great shape. There was a 1 inch gap at the bottom of the door....that's to the outside :( . Bathroom was ok but the floors were pretty dirty.....we walked around in bare feet at first and got filthy. The entrance areas were all messed up....HUGE holes and dangerous. Unfortunately a BMW M3 was robbed overnight and cops had to come investigate. I was offered a refund and could look for another place to stay but there was absolutely nothing in the area because of festival. Staff was nice for the most part.

This property had the cleanest bathroom floors i have ever seen in a hotel. The entire room was clean. I had a washing machine problem and the owner ended up taking it and washing and drying it for me. Awesome service. Going outside was a little offputting but it was fine.
