Breakfast was good and set us up for the day. The archaeological sits was just across the road from the hotel so accessing it was easy.

Very convenient to the ruins (across the street), but parking was impossible to find and we lost our opportunity to see Herculaneum because of this. We also had to change rooms because of a noxious smell coming from the bathroom. Felt a bit pricey given the size of the room and the condition of the property. It is faulty advertising.

We spent 3 nights at the Hotel Herculaneum and found it a very pleasant place to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, giving us recommendations for places to eat and for transport links. The room was clean and contained everything that we required, including a small balcony. Breakfast gave us plenty of choice and was very convenient. We certainly felt that our stay gave good value for money.

The B&Bhotel had parking at about a 6 minute walk. I installation where pleasant and rather comfortable. The train station, with regular connections to Napoli, Pompei y the Vesuvius is at about 12 mintues walking. Much better than by car, the traffic is horrendous.

The hotel is very basic, the pictures on the site are slightly misleading. The rooms are very small with dated amenities. The balconies are so close to the others you felt like there was no privacy at all. And it felt very uncomfortable knowing someone could just step over and be next to your room door. Towels were old and shower just about passable. Our bathroom had an awful smell from outdated pipes too. The area is heavily policed and there is only a couple of “safe” places to eat or drink so I wouldn’t recommend and definitely wouldn’t stay here again. The door to reception is locked and you have to buzz to go in, that should’ve been my first clue of the area! It’s incredibly noisy too, lots of shouting and vehicles reversing all through the night etc The staff were however great and couldn’t do enough.

Good spot to stay for a visit to Herculaneum!

Very handy spot for a visit to Herculaneum. Room was quite large. Bathroom was fine. Breakfast was basic but OK. Nice terrace area to sit outside. There are some basic restaurants nearby as well as a lovely place selling wine. We got a taxi from Naples Airport which cost 65 Euros (a bit of a rip off). The hotel is located next door to Herculaneum.

Hotel Herculaneum was a perfect resting place for us. Very close to the archaeological site of Herculaneum meant we could easily visit and return to relax in the hotel. The room was clean, decorated to a high, modern standard with every amenity you could ask for. We were upgraded on rooms when we arrived, which meant we had a balcony overlooking Herculaneum too. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful and the staff were both helpful and polite.

I booked this hotel to save my budget for staying near Naples and going from Naples to Sorrento, Capri and Positano. But it was not worth it. Because it’s very far from Naples and trains between Ercolano and Naples central are every 45 minutes. So if you miss a train in last minute, you need to wait about one hour.

It was a great hotel, right opposite the entrance to Herculaneum. Room was a good size and the beds comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good choice at breakfast.
Also there is a great terrace where you can take your own food and drink and just relax or order from reception and have something brought to you.
Theres plenty of good restaurants nearby and the railway station is 10 mins walk away for direct trains to Naples and Sorrento and easy connections to Pompeii.
A great value hotel which i would recommend

The location of this hotel is absolutely perfect for the Herculaneum site. The entrance is literally across the road and just through the site entrance is a view across the entire roman remains.

The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the station downhill. It is all uphill back. The staff at the hotel are so helpful and friendly and breakfast was very good. The room was nice and clean although basic. But overall the ideal spot to explore Ercolano and there are some lovely places to eat very close by.

The staff was nice enough, but the facility is getting outdated and the “coastal/beach club” vibe depicted in the online photos must be from a couple decades ago. We had a great stay at Hotel Herculaneum overall! The hotel and its facilities were clean and well-kept. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. It even had a lovely balcony overlooking the street! It was tidied up daily and washcloths and bathmats were replaced daily (there is no Do Not Disturb sign - which we didn’t mind). There was a slight drainage issue in our shower on our first night (which caused a little flooding) but the issue seemed to have been fixed by the time we returned the following evening. The front desk staff were amazing; they were friendly, helpful, and happily answered our questions. The surrounding area was safe, considering that the hotel is steps away from Herculaneum (safe for tourists). The hotel’s best feature is its location - aside from being right across Herculaneum, it is only a 10 min walk from the train station (Ercolano Scavi) which is where you can take the Circumvesuviana line to go to Pompei, Sorrento (Almafi coast), and Naples; therefore, it is central to all of these places!

Toilets wouldn’t flush. Prompted room move and then the management decided they needed the room they had moved is to. So had to move again. 4 night stay 3 different rooms. Really loud area. Bed/mattress in every room was rock hard but the noise kept you awake anyway. Otherwise v well position hotel for Herculaneum which is literally across the road.

Convenient hotel to visit the ruins at Herculaneum and to catch the Mt Vesuvius bus. The staff were great and there is a nice BYO terraza. The room was clean and has nice new-ish floors but the beds were awful - I felt individual springs and when I took sheets off could see the mattress cloth cover was worn through.
The furniture looked like 1970s kit.
New furniture would totally revamp this hotel - the bones are good.

Disgusting. Room was so dirty, literal piles of dirt in the corners. No mattress protectors on the beds. Our room was next to the common toilets and it would smell when someone used the toilets. People laughing and yelling at 2:30 in the morning. I would not recommend this “hotel” to anyone else. More of a glorified hostel.

Located right outside Herculaneum and a short walk uphill to the train station this hotel is very convenient. Perfect if you are getting the late flight into Naples as no public transport is available and long distance taxis are extortionate. (This was €65 which was insane compared to the extremely cheap buses and trains in the day however it was over €150 to get nearer Sorrento) We used this as a base for 2 days to see Pompeii, climb vesuvius and see Herculaneum before moving to Sorrento side. The bus to reach the Vesuvius hike was at the train station a few minutes walk away. Hotel was clean, had aircon, a cute outdoor area and free continental breakfast. Very noisy from the street. Take ear plugs if light sleepers.

Pictures are a misrepresentation of the hotel

The pictures on the website look nothing like the hotel. The hotel was dirty, worn and disgusting. The stairs that led to the floor where the bedrooms were located was actually a fire escape. Metal stairs with no backing and outside of the building. Not safe at all. After seeing the hotel and the state of the rooms, we decided not to stay. In all my years of travelling, I have never left a hotel.
The neighborhood is not safe. There is no parking other than a lot a few blocks down the street. You cannot enter the hotel unless you ring the doorbell (which we did repeatedly before there was an answer) and are allowed in. Despite the hotel misrepresenting itself in the pictures on Hotels.com, they refused to refund. I wish I had taken pictures of the rooms to prove the misrepresentation.

The Hotel was right at the entrance to Herculaneum, so that was very convenient. The staff was very helpful in letting us move rooms as our initial room smelled a bit like sewage coming up the pipes in the bathroom. The city itself is a bit run down and the drivers are aggressive, but visiting the ruins was beautiful and informative as we had a private guide.

The first thing to say is \"WOW\", what a great place to stay - the entire place was beautiful and was such a perfect stop on our trip to Sicilia. The room was so nice and comfortable we didn't want to leave. The food was incredible and the staff was just over the top awesome !!! Such lovely staff and always so helpful with information on how to get around amd places to visit. Perfect location, literally just across the street from the roman ruins of Herculaneum, a short walk to the royal palace of Portici, and 2 train stations where you can easily get trains to Pompeii in 20 minutes, and Sorrento or Salerno in an hour and then on to the wonderful day trips along the Amalfi coast by bus or boat, and also to Naples in 20 minutes. Highly recommend

A pleasant stay - take powerbanks!

The Good: The reception staff at the hotel were brilliant. They were happy to get the double bed re-made into two singles so that me and my two kids could each have separate beds. They were also really helpful when it came to lending us a corkscrew, plates and glasses so that we could eat a supermarket meal on the terrace.

The location was great!

The breakfast was decent.

The less good: There was a real shortage of sockets in the room to recharge electricals - you had to unplug a light to plug in a phone. Also, the power was very slow - it took ALL night to charge one device, so it was tricky to get anything charged up properly.

The decor was a little tired & it was quite dusty under the beds.

Staying in Ercolano and at this hotel was a very fortunate decision.Driving to Ercolano to stay, we were driving and avoided any confusing traffic. (We chose a, January visit which was a really good idea.)
This hotel has parking a block away, which you arrange by contacting the front desk staff. They are friendly, helpful and speak English well.
The hotel is directly across Hurculaneum! Our room (201)looked over the front gates.
Clean hotel, not fancy schmancy, but comfortable. Excellent price, and of course, off-season.
I ssuggest staying a few days... Hurculaneum one day, and train to metro to Naples and the Archaeological Museum. Train station is an 8 minute walk away, and takes you to Garibaldi/Central station, with Metro L1 to stop Museo. ( Metro was beautifully clean).
Hotel also has beautiful outside area for breakfast and lounging, but didn't relax long enough to enjoy. Next time!

The property itself was fine. A bit outdated and older. Overall perfect for what we needed. Not the cleanest place and the area was not very busy and not well lit at night. It did not feel unsafe though. The area was not easy to get around without a car.
My biggest issue is with Expedia as what we booked was not what we recieved at the site and ended up having to pay more than we already paid because our booking didn't match the actual property.

Awesome staff!!

The staff is so very friendly and helped me arrange a taxi for my early morning flight. The area felt safe, multiple little places to sit down in eat within walking distance and could pretty much overlook the little cafes from the balcony in my room. Bathroom in the room is a little worn but ok for my one night quick stay. Would recommend!

We had a great time at this property. The room was big, the staff helpful and the breakfast a great addition. We really liked the covered patio to end our busy days of exploring. It was perfect for our family of 4

Room size was big and nice (booked a triple bed) but the hotel has very limited facilities, there is no tea or coffee in the room, breakfast is very simple and hotel is located half an hour away from Napoli. It is a average hotel and it is good for few nights stay but nothing special about it.
