We did not have a balcony but the condo we stayed in was fairly close to everything. The beach and pool were awesome as well as the rec area. Rode their bikes everyday. Food was excellent and tiki bar was awesome. People were very friendly.

Our condo was very clean, beds were comfortable, the restaurants were great and all the staff on the property that we spoke with in person were great. A very fun shelling beach and many other amenities. Any kitchen utensil that we needed was there.
Here's what didn't work:
1-We were told that maid service was every three days when we checked in. We assumed that, at minimum, that meant replacing the used towels at least once. We did not have any maid service during our six day stay.
2-There was only ONE kitchen towel. There really should 3-4! We chose to do our few dishes by hand, only running the dishwasher once, right before we left.

We just spent 5 days. 4 nights with Sundial and would defiantly stay there again. It was clean, staff was attentive and friendly, our condo had plenty of space for our family of 4. The full kitchen and screen in deck were great!! We swam, looked for shells and rode bikes. Sundial was a great hotel for our trip!

Overall it has amazing potential.

Thursday we hung out at the pool all day as my kiddo wanted to participate in the activities. We had to inquire about the craft to get it and the only other thing was bingo. The rest of the activities didn’t take place.

The sheets and bedding are unfortunately the worst part. They feel like paper. While we loved the other parts of the units - we did not sleep well and eventually went out to purchase a blanket.

The breakfast was a large waste of money in our opinion. It’s an expensive low-grade buffet option. The only thing my child appreciated was the omelets. However we adored Shima and Tikis! Both expensive but worth the price.

We appreciated the check in staff and used the bikes a ton! The slide was a hit for all.

We hope that as things continue to open up on the island that sundial will continue to improve as well!

Plus 4 thoughout property. Free bikes to tour island the beaches are white sand. Shell collectors heaven. 2 restaurants on main level. Food and drinks by the pool. Hot tub Ping pong and table hockey. Staff were great. So clean!

We very much enjoyed our stay here and will return. We came only for one night w/ two kids. There were fun activities for the kids (and adults) by the pool. We got up early and went looking for shells on the beach which was a big hit!

The only issues we had were that 1. we booked a king bed but got a double and this is important bc my 4year old gets in bed with us every night so things were very tight. And 2. The mattress was somehow so loud! Every time someone rolled over or got out of bed, I was up.

So, I would request a different room next time but would come back bc of the great staff, location, fun pool time with the kids and the beautiful beach.

Maybe because I booked on Expedia and not with the hotel directly, the room was horrible. I had called the property to make them aware that it was a special time-my husband's birthday, the room as well as the location, left a lot to be desired.
Thank God for Mae, the receptionist that changed our room the next day. The stay improved after that..the beach is beautiful

The pool/beach area was amazing! The poolside service was awesome. My only concern was me a senior and friend staying with me a senior were assigned a 4 th floor room with no elevator. It took almost an hour to find a space that had an elevator. Jared the security guy was so helpful. Then for check out the system evidently had an issue and tried to charge me for what I had paid for on Expedia. Loved the resort not the service or convenience

This property was heavily damaged by Hurricane Ian and its been a long recovery. The price I paid to stay there was not related to the condition of the property. Only one pool is open and many buildings unoccupied. Occupancy when I was there was probably 10% but I was put in the farthest building away from the pool and beach amenities and I was on the 4th floor of a building that still has no working elevator. That was not known to me when I booked. I would not recommend staying at the hotel for quite some time until all renovations are completed.

Really great to see property coming back to life after getting hit hard by hurricane Ian a few years ago. The room I stayed in was brand new and very nice. Staff was polite, responsive, and helpful. Great pool area with plenty of seating, drink/food service at your chairs, and the kids loved the water slide. The hibachi restaurant on property was a lot of fun as well.

I don’t use to review, but I must this time. Elevator won’t work, loud noises, facilities basically under construction, room are nice but a little dirty, hairs in bathrooms, some pools closed, they shouldn’t open until they finish, it’s a total scam for the price you pay and what you get.

Inside are great. These condos on the west side should not be open for business. First-The construction workers parking next to you personal vehicle and using power equipment. 2nd we had no hot water, spent most of the morning changing rooms twice.
The first night of dining we were sat at a table with people we didn’t know and very loud and attire was not observed.
3rd, my credit card was charged by Expedia and also by the resort, two times.
I will be reporting that to my banking instruction.
We wanted to make a reservation for the on-site spa for pedicure and the desk said that were not needed. So upon arrival the next day they were booked.

First time in Sanibel, very nice resort has a few pools but only one with bar/restaurant. Right on the beach would be nice to have two showers when you get off the beach as only having one you have to wait sometimes to rinse off. Clean comfortable room with full kitchen. Would stay again

The main pool was closed the entire stay at the resort. The apartment couch was infested with fleas or some type of non-visible insect. Our exposed skin was bitten and burned like crazy. Recommend you fumigate your apartment upon checking-in. Air conditioner worked great.

I booked a partial ocean view room at the Sundial Beach Resort & Spa. I checked in after dark so I could not see the view from the room. I awoke to a view of other buildings. The unit I am in G307 does not face the beach. There are screens on the balcony. There is no way you can see the beach. I went to breakfast it is terrible!! Terrible food quality. Frozen pastry breads, running oatmeal and cold water served for tea. They charge $25.00 for breakfast with tip already added which they doe allot in Florida. Tip is for exceptional service, not mandatory! The facility is old from the 70's & 80's it is struggling hard to be current today. This facility needs to be closed and redone with a major remodel. Customer service is terrible. They told me to call to Hotels.com to deal with them putting me in a room without partial ocean view which I paid for. You are better off staying at a budget hotel then this hotel. I the quality is there no problem to pay. Not worth what they charge. I would say in its current condition this hotel should rent for about $250/night because it on the beach. If it were remodeled, more.

Also appreciate the ability to get beach chairs, bikes, etc. Only real complaint is the fact that Expedia did not tell me the main pool was closed for reno when I booked. That's pretty important.

we booked via hotels.com which advertised full services and access to all facilities. however, we were told by your hotels staff we did not have access to all 5 pools, towels, fitness center and the beach loungers/umbrellas. We were told since we booked via hotels.com, Sundial does not get any revenue therefore we do not have full access. The property description is provided to Hotels.com from Sundial so i am told by Hotels.com. either way, a complete dissapointment.

The rooms themselves were perfectly fine but could use some updating. The bed was comfortable but the pull-out couch was a bit outdated. It's time for a new one.

It was our first time here and loved everything! The room was clean, spacious and we couldn’t have asked for more. The king sized bed was super comfortable and pillows firm, which were amazing, not those feather ones that have no support. The pool and private beach were a dream…private, well maintained. Amenities by the main pool were great and food available until 9pm was a blessing!! We will definitely be coming back

The room we had was a king with sofa bed. Sofa was very old and raggedy, made farting noises when sat on and sunk down. The king bed was so firm and uncomfortable. Could hear the music from pool all the time but, only the base so sounded like constant thunder. For paying over $1500 for 2 nights I expect more. No breakfast as included either.

I really enjoyed direct access to the best beach in the U.S.! The room was great. We had two bedrooms and two bathrooms and it was plenty big enough. I really appreciated having a full kitchen and just about everything you need to \"cook at home.\" We get very tired of eating out all of the time, so it was nice to have a decent kitchen. Also, the dishwasher was wonderful!

Overall good experience. Nice resort with a nice quiet beach and decent pools (2). The larger pool was often crowded as it was the kid friendly one with slide . My kids enjoyed it though. There was good food options at hotel but we only ate there once for dinner. Their pool bar / restaurant and buffet breakfast is good for kids and adults but like every resort $$$ . I recommend checking out other food options for breakfast outside of resort ( Rosie’s , and island cow ) and for dinner you have to up to captiva and mucky duck! Great food and beach with sunset

The property was very well-kept, and there were many amenities, including bikes, tennis, pickleball. The resort was right on the beach, so swimming in the Gulf was available. The furniture in the unit was nice and in good condition. Kitchen was stocked with all necessities. Some of the closet areas for storage were old and could use some cleaning up/updating. Great overall!

Overall, my husband, son and I had a great experience at Sundial. The service was great, our room exceeded my expectations and the amenities were great as well. We arrived early and were greeted with open arms and allowed to store our luggage while we ate at one of the resort’s restaurants and explored. By the time we went to check on our room again, it was ready. It was a nicely decorated room with bedroom and two beds, a bathroom, living area, full kitchen and spacious screened patio. A large TV in bedroom and living room. The reservation stated a DVD player was available; however, mine didn’t have a functioning remote. Unable to fix it, they provided me with a completely new DVD player in a timely fashion. That was great service! The Rec Center staff were very friendly and informative, especially Dan. He gave us some useful information about the activities and about the island itself. He seemed quite knowledgeable and he seemed to genuinely take pride in Sanibel Island and his position at the resort. All of the “food places” were great as well. We tried all of them and were pleased with the food and the service. My husband tried sushi for the first time and loved it. The service person was very helpful in giving him information to guide his decision. We had lots of fun swimming and hanging by the pool and playing ping pong and bingo. We loved riding the bikes and just walking the beach and looking for shells and people and dog watching. So beautiful! We

The resort was amazing! It was beautiful and so clean! It also has so many activities included in your stay! I have a subpar review of the area around the resort not because it wasn’t nice but we went and explored and there wasn’t much on the island to do that we were interested in besides golfing one day. They have daily activities at the main pool, bikes, kayaks, tennis, and pickle ball! I gave a lesser review for communication because I wished they would have told us when we arrived that the Japanese steakhouse was closed on Sunday and Monday because since we didn’t know we didn’t get to eat there and the grab and go sushi is also closed those days. Overall, we had such a wonderful time the resort is amazing with very friendly staff! I would recommend Sundial to anyone and we will definitely be going back!
