Our unit was so nice, the property was beautiful and seemed as though it was brand new. We also loved the beach! The locals in the area are amazing and we learned so much on this trip! The seashells along with the sea life you get to see while on the beach is amazing and honestly a once in a lifetime experience!

The 2 bedroom was great space for our family of 5 (2 parents and 3 teenagers). 2 bathrooms was a plus! Very clean. Definitely not a hotel feel at all (no restaurants, no daily cleaning), but we were fine with it. My only complaint would be the pull out couch/bed. It was so thin, and very uncomfortable. We used all the spare blankets to make it more tolerable for our daughter to sleep on it. Not sure how 2 people would sleep on that, unless they were smaller children. Despite that, we really enjoyed the room. Having a washer and dryer inside our place was also a huge benefit. Its on a quieter area of the beach, so nothing really walkable to do at night, but we drove down to the main area, and frequented other night life spots. Overall, GREAT place!

The beach was expansive and the unit was newly renovated. The resort is in the quieter end of the beach and so it was a slow drive to get to Fort Myers’ restaurants but we knew that when we booked. Bicycles are available and are the quickest way to get around. My family really enjoyed our stay in our 2 bed/2 bath unit!

Was a nice quiet area, not busy on the beach - direct access was nice. Could rent chairs/umbrella, which was pricey. Plan on buying groceries ahead of time for your stay. Do not even think about trying to go out for supper. Leaving at 4pm will put you in standstill traffic for literally 2 hours. We were better going for a late lunch & groceries/snacks for supper. A lot more construction than was described online. There’s no cleaning during stay, ask if something is needed (had to ask for more toilet paper, which for the nightly rate, could be better than sand paper). Due to flight cancelling/changing, had to add another night, which they were accommodating, however would not give the same rate as other nights (even lost one night due to flight, so paid for a night when we weren’t there). Online mentioned snacks for purchase (hot dogs, popcorn, slushies) by the pool. There was none of this. Tennis court was closed, despite being listed open. The room overall was nice, both showers had issues, could tell some work was still needed. Could use their bikes, however there aren’t any for little kids (my 11/13 yo’s were fine to use, but not my 6yo).

Wonderful to just walk out the door and onto the beach! Everything was nice: well-equipped kitchen with new appliances, washer and dryer etc. Some construction still going on, but this is the case for most places in Fort Myers Beach and it never bothered us. Great place to stay.

Everything was prepared nicely and clean. There was some construction around the resort, but it did not interfere with our rest/stay in any way. It was only a few minutes walk from the beach, a warm pool nearby, and also a spa. In the apartment all electrical devices worked and everything necessary for normal living was provided.

The rooms are excellent and spacious. We have stayed here in the past. Understanding that they just went through a serious hurricane and the area is recovering. However, I do believe they understated how much work and noise was being generated to the buildings exterior. This noise echoed thru the walls. Workers start at 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mon thru Fri. No need for an alarm clock as their hammer drills will wake you up which is pretty much constant. The pool was open but there was quite a bit noise and debris falling into the pool from the work being done. I do believe they are trying very hard to get the renovation complete and may have jumped the gun opening prior to completion.

The apartment was good. Wish the owners had more beach things available like toys and wagons like other beach front properties we’ve stayed at. Also the construction Was a big inconvenience. We stayed in a 3 person bay view apartment. It was perfectly fine, maybe needed some cosmetic updates. Due to Hurricane Ian in 2022 the property is undergoing exterior repairs. Completely understandable, and didn't really affect our stay. The surrounding area is still recovering as well. Fort Myers is beautiful, and Gullwing was great as well. My only issue is that they did not disclose the ongoing construction on the exterior until after we booked. Very nice place, affordable, and we will be back.

This review is really not fair as the resort is being restored due to Ian. The unit was very nice and even luxurious but the patio had a thick layer of cement dust and workers were stripping the stucco off scaffolding, destroying our privacy and producing ungodly noise levels. We were given short notice just prior to trip to expect inconvenience, but too short to cancel flights and other reservations. Under other circumstances I would recommend this resort, but at this time I would say go elsewhere or stay home. By the way, the staff were great, but their hands were tied.

The GullWing was a great stay for our family. Our son had a baseball tournament and we wanted to stay near the water. Despite the devastation that occurred with Hurricane Ian we were happy to help the local community with their rebuilding. Our condo was beautiful and clean. The beach is gorgeous and the pool was very nice. We enjoyed the local restaurants and being able to go to the beach and then hang out at the pool. Jacuzzi tub was also a nice feature. Our internet was never hooked up. We were told it would be reset, but it never happened. The kitchen could have used a few more pots and pans, but otherwise it was a great experience. Several good restaurants within walking distance and free bike rental. We will stay again.

To start, staying at Gullwing made for one of the best vacations we had. The property is very clean, and it is within walking distance to several shops/restaurants as well as a trolley stop right near the entrance for more distant excursions (maybe the front desk could offer purchasing passes?). Also, the beach access is AMAZING. The staff is great and very helpful. We had to check in after hours AND check out after hours due to our flights and the staff made the process very easy.
I realize that maintaining a resort property takes a lot of work, which leads me to the noise. Through the week we were frequently wakened with the chorus of leaf blowers, weed eaters, dump trucks, a truck delivery, and the sidewalk out front was under construction/repair. It really wasn't a big deal for us but it might be for some people. The noise was only in the morning though. The evenings are generally quiet unless the people in the resort adjacent are partying too loud.
The other detractor was the pool hours. The posted hours are \"8 am-dusk\" but in the fall the dusk is a relative term. There were many families at the resort and the pool area is well lit in the evening. I think it would be easier and safer to have a set closing time (9 pm?) at which time the gate is secured.
All in all, we would highly recommend Gullwing for a great Ft. Myers beach vacation! We had a wonderful time and plan to book it again in the future.

The rooms have been updated since our last stay. The size of the condos are larger than the others in the area. The only thing the kids didn't like was that the pool closed at 8pm because of turtle nesting season. I dont feel it was necessary because the deck was still open for grilling until 10pm and the beach is so wide in this area, kids in the pool would not have driven any turtles away.

The property is renovated so its super nice but you can tell some stuff is outdated. It got super cold and we turned the heat on and it made the smoke alarms go off. If you have an emergency situation after 11pm good luck to you bc the help desk is not open, you call a call center which is no help. Also when you get there they will charge you an additional fee on top of what you booked. The cleanliness is super good though. They give you many towels for the beach. We didn’t go to fort myers beach bc it was super dirty but could be from the tropical storm

Completely disappointing experience, absolutely will not be returning! It was
almost comical how many times we had to contact maintenance, almost to the point we became friends with the guys because we literally saw them every day.
1. Our ice maker was not working on arrival. Small inconvenience, had to have something replaced by staff.
— by the way, this was around the time one of the staff members knocks on the door and stated “Hi. I’m here to lock the other bedroom in your suite here because you didn’t pay for it and only paid for the king bed.” And then awkwardly walked into our place and locked us out of the second bedroom and made for an EXTREMELY uncomfortable moment for us. Should have either been locked before check in or just left open.
2. On the same day, our Dish cable TV box went out and had to be replaced. Cue second call to maintenance.
3. Next day, cue the cold shower. Call maintenance. Hot water heater completely died and we actually had to pack all of our stuff back up and change rooms. Moved to a lovely beach front suite (which was very appreciated, however we were happy with the room we had and didn’t even bother unpacking again after that). The master bedroom’s TV is a joke - genuinely no bigger than a laptop screen.
4. Washing machine — broken. Needed maintenance again.
5. Master bedroom’s temp was 20° higher than rest of suite - requested box fan from maintenance and sweated entire rest of stay.
I could go on. Just ridiculous.
almost comical how many times we had to contact maintenance, almost to the point we became friends with the guys because we literally saw them every day.
1. Our ice maker was not working on arrival. Small inconvenience, had to have something replaced by staff.
— by the way, this was around the time one of the staff members knocks on the door and stated “Hi. I’m here to lock the other bedroom in your suite here because you didn’t pay for it and only paid for the king bed.” And then awkwardly walked into our place and locked us out of the second bedroom and made for an EXTREMELY uncomfortable moment for us. Should have either been locked before check in or just left open.
2. On the same day, our Dish cable TV box went out and had to be replaced. Cue second call to maintenance.
3. Next day, cue the cold shower. Call maintenance. Hot water heater completely died and we actually had to pack all of our stuff back up and change rooms. Moved to a lovely beach front suite (which was very appreciated, however we were happy with the room we had and didn’t even bother unpacking again after that). The master bedroom’s TV is a joke - genuinely no bigger than a laptop screen.
4. Washing machine — broken. Needed maintenance again.
5. Master bedroom’s temp was 20° higher than rest of suite - requested box fan from maintenance and sweated entire rest of stay.
I could go on. Just ridiculous.
