Great location, parking possibilities nearby, nice quirky hotel, great breakfast. I only did not like the fact that on my arrival there was only a 10am time slot for breakfast available. Upon my resistance I was then put on a waitlist and later contacted by reception for an 8am availability. The breakfast itself was nice.

Room was fine. Staff were courteous. The whole ambiance was weird. Tapes of chanting nuns or monks? The breakfast was poor quality. The decor was like the film Conclave, dark and gloomy communal areas. All this would be fine if it was cheaper, but it was more £ than our 5 star hotel in Cadiz.

What a lovely quiet place to stay right in the historic area. We really enjoyed our stay. The location very close to the station with the beach and old town a short walk away was perfect.
We particularly enjoyed our quiet breakfasts at a table in the cloister area of the old convent.

This is a unique property: located in a beautiful former convent, with a functioning church in the complex. The building was recently renovated, so the guest rooms and all the common areas are in excellent conditions. Our room was huge, with tall ceilings and a large bathroom. There are beautiful and convenient common areas: a library, and a sitting room in a former refectory. The breakfast is outstanding. The location is hard to beat: 5 min walk to the cathedral and beautiful squares and plazas in the old town. If you are driving, stay at this hotel and part in the Muelle Pesceiro parking lot: it is only 5 min walk from the hotel, and is very easy to get into from the highway. All employees of the hotel we have encountered were nice and helpful. Finally, I am not sure how expensive the rooms are in the high season, but in January the price was very reasonable. If we will return to Cadiz soon, we will definitely stay at this hotel again.

This was an incredible experience. The hotel is a historic building that is renovated and designed incredibly well. Beware there’s some smell in general but that smell is common in Cadiz.
Overall very comfortable, well designed and quiet hotel that is close to everything.
And it was great price for such a beautiful hotel. Stay there if you visit Cadiz.

This historic property is pretty impressive in terms of the central courtyard with the sounds of sounds of vespers echoes quietly. And they still hold services there as well. Staff reached out ahead as it's a bit hard to get to driving-wise. We did have some GPS issues but parking was nearby and convenient. Staff was very helpful! They have a lift, which is always nice for an historic place. The location is pretty good in terms of walking around.

Given the setting, the room was just ok - wanted it to be better. Beds were spartan, my mattress was a bit lumpy, coverlet small. The bathroom was dated and felt a bit monastic with the reminder to use the dark towel to remove makeup. Towels were rough.

Wonderful stay. Such a beautiful place -- you feel so calm once inside the hotel. Unique experience staying in a converted convent. Nice to have a fitness center, and the paid breakfast was well worth the extra cost. Being so close to the train station but still within the old city another plus.

The hotel is a 6-7 minute walk from the train station, which was very convenient. We could also walk to all of the city sites in Cadiz, and there are many nice restaurants just down the street from the hotel. The hotel itself is outstanding- in an old convent, with a beautiful courtyard. The desk staff were super helpful. We were very happy to have stayed here- it was a great value.

Excellent experience in great location

This hotel is a converted convent and has many nice features. It has a nice open area that they play religious chants in with places to sit. The room was large and comfy. TV only local channels. Bathroom has shower. Location is very close to the main attractions and there are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. Also shops and they explain where they are when you check in. Altogether an excellent exoerience

Internet fungerade tyvärr inte trots 3 olika nätverk men det funkade när vi satt i innergården. Nära till restauranger och affärer.
Svårt att hitta hotellet dåligt skyltat utanför. Parkering fanns ej på hotellet som det stod i beskrivningen.

Lovely place in a very convenient position. Very comfy bed and good shower, coffee maker. Nice choice at breakfast although hot food is actually pretty cool although they did put my bacon in the microwave for me to heat it up. System for booking breakfast doesn’t work at all. They said they were full at 9 and we had to go at 8.30 but we were there until 9.20 and hardly anyone else turned up! Nearby parking above station costs 16 per day. Hard to arrive at hotel by car, seek advice!

It had a great location but access by car was difficult, as was the parking. It was also noisy at night with all the street activity, but that may not be indicative of a normal night. Good breakfast and very helpful staff.

In a word...'Wow!' This hotel is amazing.

First the location - right in the old part of the city and within walking distance of great cafés, bars and restaurants.

Then the hotel itself - this is a beautiful and historic building but with modern conveniences such as air conditioning. The rooms are so quiet and very relaxing. The inner courtyard is an amazing space with seating and we enjoyed relaxing here with a book and a glass of wine.

The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The next time we are in Cadíz we will return here without hesitation!

What an amazing hotel! The location was ideal for our arrival at the train station, and departure on the ferry. The cloister is beautiful, and the rooms are clean and well presented. And the staff members we met we great.

On the sustainability side, there are glasses rather than disposable cups in the room; and the shampoo, hand soap, and moisturizer is in big bottles rather than tiny single-use ones, which is great! However, there were still disposable coasters under the glasses (why not switch to reusable ones if you insist on having them - it would be fine without!). And there were overpackaged toothbrushes, shaving kits, comb in the bathroom - why not go for less packaging, and offer them at reception for people who really need them, rather than to everyone.

I usually mark hotels down on their sustainability, but I liked this hotel too much. Highly recommended.

What a treat! A real jewel.

The hotel was beautifully located and just around the corner were 2 excellent restaurants. The staff were very professional and our room was lovely. Our only complaint and it’s very minor is that the shower was quite small and the drain did not work well. The breakfast offered a wide variety of choices. So much history in this place. It was very special. Nothing ordinary about it!

Viaje a Cadiz

Un hotel precioso y tuvimos una muy agradable estancia (con la única excepción de que dos madrugadas el aire acondicionado no funcionó). Muchísimas gracias a Jose y Tamara (ambos de la recepción) y a Patricia (del desayuno) por ser tan amables y ayudarnos con tantísimas cosas. Ellos son en realidad muy atentos e hicieron la diferencia. A Tamara por hacer todo lo posible porque pudiera visitar la iglesia de Santo Domingo contigua al hotel. Preciosa!!!! A place full of character

Just loved staying at this place. You can read history everywhere you look. Every corner, every wall seem to have a story to tell. For my money that is unvaluable as I find most chain hotels souless and cold. Location is second to none. The place is confortable and clean. Also has a varied good quality breakfast offering. And all the staff made my stay unforgettable!

Location is excellent. I hadn't checked that there were no bar or restaurant facilities but there were plenty in the neighbourhood. Staff were brilliant when I had a serious accident getting an ambulance within minutes a cleaning a very bloody room very professionally.

Hard to find, but worthwhile

We took a quick one-day trip to Cádiz. The hotel was very near the train station, but a bit hard to find because there is no real sign saying where it is (it really is attached to the church). The walk to the plaza around the town hall was short. The personnel at the hotel were quite friendly and professional. Breakfast was fine.

Calm and peaceful stay in a charming town

Cadiz is wonderful! So glad we decided to spend a day here during our 10 day trip to Spain. A stay at this hotel added to the charm of this town. Beautiful convent converted hotel, still attached to the church. Very quiet and peaceful. You should spend atleast half an hour in the courtyard and enjoy the calmness. Hotel is right opposite the train station. Plenty of restaurants that are open late right next to the hotel. Walk through the town is beautiful, check out all the cute shops. The breakfast was really nice, eggs and coffee were great. Room was clean, big and charming with huge wooden windows. Have to stay this was a really unique stay and we loved every minute of it.

Peace, style and pleasure

Heard about it in article by respected travel writer, so decided to give it a go. It was quite simply amazing. Located close to the train station (5 minute walk) but also close to first stop on bus tour, and passenger terminal for boat over to Puerto Santa Maria - and, to be honest, close enough to everything else in the old town! Beautiful courtyard, lovely entrance and wooden door, serene and elegant building. Staff were amazing - could not have been any nicer or more helpful - especially Tamara. Room clean, nice furniture, stylish - everything worked. Loved the windows/shutters/semi balcony which overlooked port. Great, spacious landing/corridor, tastefully decorated in a modern-ish style. Breakfast delicious - took mine on one occasion out in the courtyard, but always to the accompaniment of Gregorian chants (recorded not live!). Great choice of breakfast, especially loved the bread and coffee - great fruit choice and ham/cheese. Fell in love with Cadiz and Convento was a part of this.

Great accommodations and wonderful staff

Our stay was truly lovely. Each staff member was very helpful and accommodating. Our room was clean, comfortable, breakfast was great and the location worked well for us. Our only problem was getting to the Hotel which is very tricky by car since no matter how it is put into GPS it doesn’t work! We would definitely recommend staying in this historic space in the great city of Cádiz!

The building is amazing, it was a convent. The rooms are nice, it is very quiet. The corridors all around are painted a strong blue, walls and ceilings, which give a spooky and dark look at the place.
The breakfast is first class and the room is dry pleasant.
The beds are not very comfortable, you can feel the springs.
Overall, it is a very different experience.

The Tandem Palacio Veedor de Galeras Suites are located in the Casa del Veedor de Galeras in the heart of Cadiz old town. The building takes its name from the official who oversaw the cargo of ships sailing to the Americas in the seventeenth century.

Dating back to 1647, this historic palace house has been converted into carefully designed suites that respect the original architecture of the building. The establishment has a rectangular main courtyard with an open gallery on four sides and a two-flight imperial staircase, as well as a watchtower, skylight and well.

Over the years, the building was inhabited by a succession of distinguished families. In 1812 it also accommodated the Duke of Wellington, leader of the Spanish-British troops that fought against Napoleon in the Peninsular War.

The sixteen bright and spacious suites have been decorated to make the most of the natural light that enters via the central courtyard, creating open-plan spaces full of personality.
