The stay was excellent, only the challenge was the TV that was not clear with stars.

The staff is very friendly and always willing to help. The parking was secured and very safe too.

Parking at the bottom where I'm enjoyed park there, due to the pillars the security was thereto assist with the parking and can you imagine that both male and female was helping to park. We're used to male doing that but it was amazing to see a lady helping directing me to park and other members too.

It's my wish that the Hotel convey my thanks and appreciations to them all.

Neat, squeezed, and parking nightmare

The place was neat and clean. However, the shower and bathroom are too small. As a couple, we couldn't take a shower together, and the fan noise in the bathroom was unbearable. Overall, it's a nice place for just one night; staying longer would make you feel quite suffocated because the room and everything else is small.

The parking and lift situation was quite inconvenient. The basement parking was closed, requiring me to use an alternative parking area that was further away from the lift. Additionally, the service lift was not available for guest use. As a result, I had to navigate long distances with my bags, making multiple trips to the car. This caused significant inconvenience and took away from my relaxation time.

It has gated underground parking lots with guards. The room itself was ok and clean. Fairly small but manageable however the bathroom is relatively small, but warm water came out instantly. Although I had no breakfast and dinner booked, I could easily go and pay it after finished.
Somehow they made a small mistake about the reservation of the room. So that someone else knocked at my door in the middle of the night what has cost my sleep. That was not ok.

Our stay was great. The only problem was that I booked for 4 people. 2 Adults and 2 Children and on the confirmation letter it said breakfast included. However when we went for breakfast (we were 2 adults and 1 child) there was only 2 on the breakfast list and i had to pay for 1 extra. The breakfast was delicious.

A fairly nice place, i can book it again in future

Not enough bath towels, no mats on the floor, no condiments sachets for during lunch time or dinner. The shower flooring is very slippery, careful. Our neighbours we so loud in the evening but after 9pm there was no noise anymore. Otherwise everything else is great. I give 7 over 10.

Stayed there for a night and so we were unable to utilize their services to the fullest but we enjoyed ourselves regardless. One thing that i felt was lacking was that the TV channels did not have a music dedicated channel and The wifi connection had its times. Those are just trivial matters and we enjoys our stay.

A pleasant Stay that offers great value

Hotel 224 is a good value accommodation option that is a pleasant experience nothing more - if this part of the city is where you need to be then you cannot beat what this Hotel provides for what it costs. rooms are small but comfortable and have all that you would require. The Bathroom is tight and the door will not stay open unless you put something there, so you feel a little claustrophobic when you inside. the complimentary Shuttle is a great feature.

It was very amazing,would have love to mention names but unfortunately can’t remember them properly.The two young gentlemen by the till in the restaurant were very knowledgeable and patient and the other two the manager on duty on the night of the 19th of September and a guy from maintenance were amazingly as they swiftly reacted to my very small concern.I really felt like a king and will recommend my friends to stay at the hotel whenever there are on holiday in Pretoria

It was a good experience, good location great for relaxation and tranquillity the members of hotel staff where more than kind, treating us with the most respect and attending to our every need make our stay the most satisfying as it could possible be, If would recommend this hotel to my friends and family?: Yes most certainly I would, as it is friendly and cozy a place where simplicity meets modern and inovative as they marry in harmony to the most perfect combination you can possibly imagine.

Upon arrival I tried to pay for the room, as it was new years it was very busy at reception, the gentleman said to not worry about it this second. When I checked out the next morning, I returned my room key and asked how much I owed. The gentleman charged me R25 for the parking which I payed. I asked about the bill he said it's taken care of. I assumed it was automatically deducted as I made my credit card details available apon booking. Afterwards they called me realising the bill wasn't settled. They treated me a criminal for a mistake on their behalf. I settled the bill as soon as they contacted me. I contacted many people on their adress book in this regard without any response. It's unacceptable that a hotel would treat it's clients this way. Very disappointed in Hotel 224 and its failure to follow up on this case.

The hotel offers complemetary breakfast and I liked that. Howver, I had a very bad experience. In the room that I had just checked in, two drunk gentlemen accessed the room at night. I was shocked when they unlocked the dooor and came in. Fortunately I was still awake and dressed up properly. They then advised that one of them had been booked in the room the previous day and was supposed to have been allocated another room that day. He had not been checked out of the room and he still has access and had left his bag in the room ( which I had not seen). Fortunately, the gentlemen did not have any evil intentions even though they were drunk. The issue was sorted out by the hotel. However, I thought the Hotel should have compensated me somehow for that unfortunate incident. I may not book in the hotel next time.

We were 2 women me and my daughter staying over for athletics. We felt very unsafe, it was very noisy
in the corridor till three in the morning, a women screamed at 2 in the morning it sounded if she was hurt, I will never stay at this hotel again. We left at 6:30 the morning.

Hotel 224 is very safe. There is security everywhere in the hotel starting from a parking lot. The elevator is operated by a room key, so no one from outside can enter hotel and come to your room without your knowledge. You will have to go to the reception to collect your visitors because they cannot operate the elevator to come up to your room. This is good security.

If you book through Hotels.Com, make sure you e-mail them a confirmation e-mail because they are gonna need it. That's the only hotel that ever needed a confirmation from me but they have a strong Wi-Fi, so, just make sure that your tablet, cell phone, or laptop is on for you to access your e-mail so that you can be checked in.

Water is hot, tea/coffee, bar fridge, breakfast was great, and staff was helpful. This place is 5 minutes walking distance from the Union building of South Africa, banks, Sancardia mall, police station, gas stations, clubs, hospitals, and scientific institutes.

Smallest hotel room ever. There is literally no space in the room. No walking space in the room, so if you are planning to spent a longer time and probably host visitors, you will have to think twice. American hotels have plenty of space, and if you are coming from other countries on international flight and a lot of luggage, just be warned.

The bedding was not completely clean, I could actually see stains on them and I thought that was quite disgusting. The pillows were hard as well. However I thought everything else was great. THE HOTEL IS VIRTUALLY WALKING DISTANCE TO ALL CENTRAL PRETORIA SITES SO I MANAGED TO SEE SEVERAL MUSEUMS AS WELL AS THE LOCAL ZOO - THE GORILLAS THERE ARE MAGNIFICENT. THE HOTEL STAFF WERE VERY HELPFUL AND SORTED OUT ALLTHE SMALL ISSUES I HAD PROMPTLY AND EFFICIENTLY. THE SECURITY WAS VERY GOOD AS WELL AND I STORED MY LUGGAGE THERE FOR HALF A DAY WUTHOUT ANY CONCERNS. THE OUTSIDE BAR SERVED GOOD FOOD AND DRINKS AT VERY REASONABLE PRICES. EVEN MY LOCAL SOUTH AFRICAN HOSTS WERE IMPORESSED WITH THIS WHEN THEY TRIED IT ON MY SUGGESTION. I RECOMMEND THE STEAK SANDWICH AND FRENCH FRIES AT ONLY 59.00 ZAR. CASTLE DRAUGHT WAS ALSO ONLY 20.00 ZAR A PINT WITH OTHER SPECIAL OFFERS AS WELL.

Parking was terrible, we received a call at 2am to move our car from where we were told to park. Another call to again move the car to another new spot. We will not visit this hotel again, I booked deluxe room well what we were in wasn't at all deluxe.

However the food was delicious, complement to the chef.

We ordered food to our room. It took 1 hour and 30 minutes n the food was cold. I reported it to management but never heard back from them. Also we asked the maid could she come back in 20 minutes n she stated that she wanted to go home so we had to leave the room so she could clean up. The hotel and rooms are very clean. I should have known by the price….

The hotel room is the size of a shoebox. This place looks like a tenement on top of a dive bar. I feel like I was tricked by the high reviews for this place. Is it well situated? Sure. But is it nice? Not at all. If you can bear a very humble shoebox for one night, ok. If you are looking to actually enjoy your time in Pretoria and stay in your room for anything other than just sleeping… spend a few more bucks and go some place that has a real door on the bathroom. And never in a million would I bring my children here… adults only, in cases of emergency w/ no other accommodation option.

Slept there overnight, they wouldn't allow us to check in early so we had to wait 3hrs. Luckily the zoo was close by.
Bad area: just down the street you could see poor people sleeping on the streets/in the park, lighting fires to keep warm.. We Did not feel safe and decided not to get out of the hotel.
We had booked a smoking room with 2 beds and were given a double bed + non-smoking room. When we swapped room, we had to go back down to reception to get new key card.. They could have taken it upstairs as they didn't respect the booking!
We booked hotel with Wifi included in the price but were surprised to be given a voucher for 100mB Internet (which lasted about 10mins!) had to keep going down to reception to obtain further vouchers all the time!!
The food was good (diner + breakfast) + staff was friendly.
Free shuttle to take you to city but you need to book it before. Driver very nice.
Room was very small, TV and phone didn't work. Carpet wasn't cleaned properly.
Bathroom was extremely small! You can nearly shower, brush teeth and go to the toilet at same time..
Would definitely not stay there again! Price was ok but best pay a little more for a room in a known brand hotel to be safe..
