Have a Drink in Patrick’s Whiskey Bar

Hotel Fidder is a bit outside the center of Zwolle but an easy walk (about ten minutes). It comes with on-street parking. It’s an old hotel minus a lift but is quite cozy and has more outlets in its rooms than many a modern hotel. It has a wonderful whiskey bar offering a diverse selection of whiskies from around the world and an all-day small bites menu. The breakfast buffet is also quite good.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, had a room overlooking the street at the front - very comfortable nd we had a good night's sleep. It was a very warm night so it was good to have a fan in the room. We specifically chose this hotel because it looked quaint, and had a fantastic whisky selection. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the garden and enjoying some great whiskies in the evening. Staff/service was excellent. Breakfast was very good. If you want a modern hotel in \"perfect\" condition - then don't come here. This is the type of hotel you will really love if you enjoy comfortable surroundings and a building that has real character. We hope to be back one day.

Location of this hotel is very conveniently close to the lively city centre.
This is a friendly family operated hotel /restaurant. I arrived quite late . Although the kitchen was already closed they made sure I got something to eat and made some nice sandwiches.

The room I stayed in (room 18) was great. From the ground floor reception you walk a few yards (maybe 25), and then have to take about 8 steps up. Some of the other rooms might be a problem for anyone with mobility issues, as there is no lift.

In the room there are the usual facilities - comfortable bed, good TV, wi-fi (the wi-fi was excellent - I found websites downloaded really quickly) and a wardrobe. Other amenities in the room (that a lot of hotels don't provide) were a kettle, with a supply of tea and coffee, a fan ( this was welcome, as I stayed during a hot period) and an iron and ironing board. There is also a small safe in the room (key on request from reception). This safe is really quite small, but it's big enough for a couple of passports and a couple of wallets - the things that you really do want to keep secure.
One of the great selling points for Hotel Fidder is the inclusive breakfast. The selection was very impressive. There were cereals, fresh bread with all the toppings you could wish for, a selection of cold meats and cheeses. Hot dishes included bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs and tomatoes and mushrooms. The coffee served with breakfast was excellent. I'm sure I've forgotten some of the dishes available - there was so much to choose from, and everything I tried was of the highest standard. This has to be one of the best breakfasts I've had in any hotel.

A old quaint hotel furnished in the period. Ideally located on outshirts of town (5 mins walk). Parking is on the road but there is plenty of spaces and free. The rooms are quaint but slightly dated today and to be honest could do with an update that said the bed is extremely comfortable and the room has all you need including kettle and tea coffee making kit. The hotel breakfast was great catering for all nationalities is plentiful and was well laid out. Would i stay here again ..most certainly.

Fantastic place best location 5min. walk to town but you may not want to leave. The gardens with sitting and dinning areas were so relaxing. The food was great, no need to go anywhere else. Big breakfast, great bar with 100's of different whiskey. Beds were so comfortable and the staff couldn't have been nicer.

Loved the hotel with its \"old world\" charm. Service was friendly. The breakfast buffet was included and very generous and tasty. Hotel is located in a neighborhood of \"art nouveau\" houses. Followed their recommendation of restaurants and ate at Poppe, which was excellent. Really enjoyed our short stay in Zwolle.

Incredibly helpful receptionist! As their restaurant was closed that evening, she recommended some restaurants in town. We found and looked at them all and opted for \"The belly of Paris\"(translation) just a short walk from the hotel. Enjoyed the best meal we had whilst in Holland. Zwolle is a beautiful town and well worth a visit.

A great, very odd, hotel

This is an odd place; I happen to love it; but it is not for everyone. The hotel is very dated and has very odd, old furnishings. It's quirky, unique, inconsistent in design, etc. Example: In my room, every lamp or lampshade was a different shape and different color. The curtains on the left side of the room were different than the right side of the room.
The hotel bar and restaurant are great and the staff makes you feel like you are family. Late night conversations in the bar are an adventure.
Their backyard garden is quaint and pretty.

Overall, I love this hotel but be warned, it is very very odd. It is not for someone wanting luxury.

Probably the best hotel in Holland (In my opinion)

Cannot speak highly enough about this hotel. I booked a triple room through hotels.com and then had to alter to two twins. I communicated directly with the hotel which isn't always easy when going through a booking agent. One of my group had post delivered in advance of our stay which was in the room ready on our arrival. When we checked in the staff were excellent. Lots of information, excellent English and really really helpful. Two of us had to check out before breakfast and the hotel made us each a breakfast pack to take with us in the morning. Excellent excellent excellent.

Hyggeligt, lidt nostalgisk hotel på rolig villavej 15 minutters gang fra stationen. Ikke egnet for gangbesværede eller stor bagage, med stejle trapper og ingen elevator. Hyggelige værelser, hjælpsomt personale og god, veltillavet morgenmad. Begrænset spisemulighed i baren, der har en enkelt ølhane men en overdådighed af whisky - nærmest som et museum.

Sehr herzlicher und freundlicher Empfang. Das Zimmer ist geräumig und komfortabel eingerichtet. Grosses Bad und grosse Dusche. Gratis Parkmöglichkeiten rund um das Hotel. Zentrum zu Fuss in ca. 15 Minuten erreichbar. Nicht das modernste Gebäude, aber alles war ordentlich und sauber. Preis-Leistung ist sehr gut! Ich würde dort wieder buchen, vor allem wegen des freundlichen Personals.

Een heel karakteristiek hotel, een historisch pand , heel leuk aangekleed met oude meubeltjes. Het is een 3 sterren hotel maar zeker 4 sterren waard. Het personeel is jong en geweldig goed. Het ontbijt is heel origineel en goed verzorgd. De kamers zijn origineel klassiek jngericht, in oude engelse stijl. Er zit zelfs een kleine sauna in de badkamer. Parkeren is in de straat, wel eenn beetje beperkt.

Relatief afgeleefde kamer. Maar alles wat nodig was was aanwezig.
De badkamer was een afknapper vanwege het toilet.
je kon op geen enkele manier recht op het toilet gaan zitten zonder je knieën te bezeren, er was eenvoudig weg niet voldoende ruimte voor benen.

Ik werd hartelijk ontvangen bij een kleine en erg schattige balie die uit vervlogen tijden leek te komen. Beetje Sherlock Holmes gevoel.
De kamer oogde ruim en schoon. En je ziet wel hier en daar wat onderhoudsdingetjes maar eigenlijk vond ik dat huist bijdragen aan het karakteristieke en monumentale gevoel van het pand. Het personeel is ontzettend vriendelijk en het gezellige centrum van Zwolle bevindt zich op loopafstand.
Dit keer was ik hier voor zaken, maar ik zou zeker een keer met mijn man terugkomen voor een weekendje Zwolle.

The only negative feedback I can give is that the hotel didn't have elevator. Going upstairs with a lot of luggages and having to go downstairs every time I wanted to smoke was a nightmare. Overall, we enjoyed staying here. There was a special bread with pepper in it at the breakfast, I want to let the responsibles of the hotel know that I still couldn't forget how amazing it tasted. The location was good and everywhere was easily accessible.

Leuk Hotel in 2 aan elkaar gekoppelde woonhuizen. Alles is gedateerd maar oogt goed onderhouden waardoor er toch een prettige karakteristieke sfeer heerst, dit in combinatie met de Wiskey-bar maakte het voor ons een heerlijk nachtje ontspannen.
Eten in de bar is geen uitgebreide keuze, maar wat je krijgt is goed en lekker.

Wij hadden een kamer met balkon, waardoor we ook heerlijk even van de middag/avondzon konden genieten.

Erg leuk hotel, doet wat Iers aandenken. Vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Persoonlijk zou ik ervoor kiezen de uitstraling van de kamers te behouden maar wel wat meer onderhoud toepassen maar alles heeft zo z'n charme
