It was fine. Our room was clean, our bathroom was not. The top of the toilet seat had a big chip in it, the shower had some mold. It's definitely dated, which isn't a big deal and doesn't bother me but the shower screen wasn't secured to the tub so the water went all over the floor and we had to use a few towels for that. For the cost I would've expected it to be clean. Otherwise, the location is very good and it's just a few minutes walk to the sites we wanted to see.

No quality control when entered room. Both lights broken and simply hanging by bed. Fan footings broken and leaning to the side. Dangerous for my toddler as it could easily fall. One chair was ripped and big stain on the other chair. Who in their right mind would find this acceptable for a new guest. Please review that room as well look into quality control. Bathroom was filthy is several spots This is definitely not a 4 star hotel. 3 at most. Never again until they look into on overhaul. Staff are super friendly and the location is great however. Would recommend placing fridges in the rooms.

Fast friendly check in. Location is excellent for walking around and exploring. Seems to cater to a pensioner tour group crowd. Easy parking garage across the street for 8 euro/day validated. Room and bed were huge by European standards. Mostly quiet, we heard some schoolkids passing through alley under our window. We didn't use fitness center, but it would be nice if we had more time. Enjoyed our stay!

Absolutely love this property. Easy parking across the street, walk to most of the attractions in Kilkenny. My one complaint however, during our stay, my son and his wife realized in the middle of the night that their mattress was upside down. A small thing, but at 0200 it was a pretty big inconvenience. Fortunately, they slept in the twin bed that was in their room. Went addressed with the staff at the front desk. Their comments were simply oh how terrible.

Kilkenny was probably our favorite stop in Ireland. This hotel was centrally located and definitely within walking distance of much we wanted to do. Very clean and comfortable.

Nice hotel overall

I have stayed here in the past and found it to be a warm and welcoming hotel and great for the city centre and nice to have a cut price parking deal with the multistorey over the road.

The room was comfy and wifi decent. Bar food was good albeit a little pricey compared to less tourist cities. But you're spoilt for choice for food.

We book King deluxe so very happy with size of room. No A/C which seems to be the norm ! Was able to open balcony awnd window fr a nice cross breeze. Some of the staff were not suitable for the job (too young and inexperienced) the rest were very experienced / odd combo.

Disappointing stay

Great location and nice staff but hotel is very tired. Room has not been hovered, there were cobwebs hanging from all the light shades and the bathroom has discolored grouting and hair on the floor. Also found the seats in the dining room to be covered in food so was very unimpressed with the general cleanliness. I would say that for the cost of the room for the two nights, it represents very poor value for money.

This property does not feel like a four-star hotel. It needs a complete renovation. There is no mini fridge in the rooms. The fixtures are old and need a deep cleaning. The gym is nice, but because it is next to the pool, all of the equipment is rusted. The staff was extremely helpful and nice, but the hotel needs a refresh.

The bathroom dispensers had lots of built up soap on them and hadn't been cleaned in a long time. Breakfast was chaos between the noise of the children running around and the staff crashing the trays at the buffet changing them over. The room was very hot so we had the windows open only to be woken around 2am when a large group of 18yo left. Bar staff were adequate but not overly friendly. Everything was no better than average which is not a 4* expectation

Location and Pool!

We're very happy with this hotel for our family trip to Kilkenny. We didn't rent a car and were traveling by train/bus and this hotel is perfectly placed in the city to walk to all main attractions. The pool was great with our young kids. The oldest (5Y) really liked the little led they added to our room. I recommend!

This hotel was pretty much booked up when we got there to check in. The room they gave us was not what I had reserved and when we went back down to the front desk they very happily fixed the issue by up grading us to a bigger better room. It was quiet and clean. The beds were very comfortable and the hotel nicely located to make the city very walkable.

This is an old hotel so the lack of A/C was understandable but uncomfortable in 30 degree heat. Cracked floor/tiles in the bathroom. Doing the final check before leaving, I open a drawer I hadn’t used, which fell out narrowly missing my foot. Breakfast? Stopped serving at 10am which ensures a backup. I have never had to wait so long to be seated. Nominally self service but you wait to be issued with a mug, then queue whilst chap individually, item after item ,solemnly places. 2 rashers of bacon on your plate, one egg, etc. presumably to stop folk sneaking an extra sausage. This parsimonious approach explains why the fried eggs were rubbery and had obviously been standing for some time. No doubt the reply will be that I could have asked for more than one egg, but I wasn’t asked if I wanted two. As the process was so slow, the queue continued to build out in the lobby. Orange juice? It was labelled as such but it was more like orange squash!
The location is great, the staff were great but management need to sort out the breakfast offering and refurbish the fabric of what could be a fabulous hotel.

Relaxing Weekend In City Centre

Very relaxing and enjoyable stay. Lobby is spacious and welcoming. Staff are friendly and helped with all our queries. Parking was ideal and well worth the price.
The room had everything we could ever have needed and with a well appreciated balcony. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was spacious, with a shower to look forward to.
Very impressed, and will return next time I say in Kilkenny.

Great location and easy to explore the town on foot. The restaurant had limited dinner options due to a group booking. There was a billing issue at the bar caused by the hotel, but staff were argumentative and offered no reassurance. In the morning, there was no hot water in either of our rooms. Although the manager apologized and promised a refund, nothing was done. Disappointing service overall.

This modern property is right in the heart of town. Just an easy walk to the shop, bars and the castle. The town is full of charm and I only wish was that I spent more time. The car park isn't part of the property but is only across the road with the hotel giving a discounted rate. Breakfast was good with a good selection of both hot and cold

The hotel is situated in a fantastic location, and we thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon tea there. However, I was informed that my teenagers, aged 14 and 16, couldn't use the pool without supervision. Additionally, the garage across the street had a non-functional elevator, which made handling our luggage quite challenging.

Check in and check out was quick and easy. Overall the hotel is in great condition and modern. The bathroom could do with a little upgrade in comparison - and very annoyingly the toilet roll holder is extremely close to the toilet meaning you have to sit sideways to avoid having your leg against it.

The breakfast was a little disappointing and a strange set up. It was very expensive for a 'buffet' experience. You could get your own cereal and toast etc but the hot food was behind a railing that you had to have served to you by a member of staff. For the amount being paid this felt a little mean.

We also had to go back downstairs and have our room keys reset twice in the two days we were staying there as they stopped working.

Overall it's a lovely hotel in a fantastic location. The room was a great size and comfortable. The staff are lovely and I would definitely stay here again.

The staff at the hotel were great, really kind & helpful. The room very big, had everything we needed in it. However the bathroom was very rundown, felt dirty. Lots of old shower products on the tiles, hair in the bath. I asked for it to be cleaned again, however it still felt old and dirty after the second clean.
Location of the hotel was great, right in the centre of town but not noisy. Parking across the road was handy, it’s cheaper to pay the carpark directly than pay via the hotel.
Overall it was a nice stay apart from the bathroom.

The room cleanliness was appalling. There was black mold in the showers, the carpets were thick with dirt and everything was worn and tired looking. The ventilation grill in the bathroom was thick with years worth of dirt.

Only redeeming quality was the location but will try other hotels in the area for our next visit. I have photos and am happy to share them with the hotel. We stayed in room 203. We did not address this with the hotel when we were there but hopefully this review will bring it to their attention.
