My only complaint was that on Sunday night the bass boom from the music in the bar was loud till about 1.00am. Friday too but less so and finished by 12.30 am. Otherwise the room was comfortable if a little dated and the staff were helpful and friendly. Can’t comment on breakfast as we did not eat the hotel.

Loved our stay here. Hotel is much bigger than what meets the eye from the street (so they were able to accommodate our request for 2 separate beds. I think we essentially got a free upgrade). It's in a good central location, with everything within walking distance.

Have dinner/drinks/listen to live music at Kyteler's Inn. It's a 700 year old pub, and has amazing history. Try their own Witch brew and come for music early, as seats are limited.

Comfortable room. Excellent parking and walkable to attractions, shopping and restaurants. Onsite restaurant was good for a fast meal.
The only problem is that there is some music from the bar down below the rooms and noise from people in the hall. This wasn't a huge deal for us because we were tired and slept through most of it. Wouldn't be great if you were a light sleeper and wanted an early night.

This place is in a good location in Kilkenny. The folks working the bar downstairs were really nice. The front desk staff wasn’t very friendly. The whole place is run down and my room in particular was very old and could use a good scrub. There wasn’t air conditioning, just a fan. Overall not a bad stay, but nothing nice.

On arrival. We were told our room was made up. It was not so we had to be allocated another. Staff dealt with this swiftly and were very apologetic. Overall the hotel is very dated. The corridors smelled very stale. Cramped room no bedside lights, dated bathroom. Staff were very nice nice but hard to find at times especially at breakfast one morning and we gave up waiting for a drink at the bar on our second evening as only one member of staff was manning the busy bar. Breakfast not good quality. Fresh fruit on second morning was not at all fresh and not well prepared with lots of skin and stalks left. All meat was deep fried. WiFi very erratic. Not good value for the price paid. We were expecting higher quality. Very conveniently located for exploring the beautiful city and free car parking a bonus.

Hotel is in a great location and secured parking for our rental car. Overall it's a nice hotel and friendly staff. The only complaint we had was that we had to take an elevator up only to have to take our suitcases by hand down a large flight of stairs.

The hotel is on the Main Street among all the popular bars and restaurants so it is very noisy at nighttime so be prepared. Will be back again hopefully very soon.

Old building so the room was dated but also very clean overall so no complaints there. That said, the mattress basically needs to be replaced. It completely caved in the middle and was hard to sleep in. Also, no AC is fine but having a fan to circulate the air would have been a nice addition. There’s a bar below so it was quite noisy late into the night but I brought ear plugs so it was fine. If you don’t though, you may be frustrated. All staff I interacted with were incredibly helpful and nice! Breakfast was quite good!

A great convenient hotel close to the train station and easy walking distance to the Kilkenny Castle, thw Medieval Mile, and Smithwicks brewery. The included daily breakfasts in the restaurant had a wide variety of choices and were very tasty. There are plenty of pubs nearby for dinners and the other thing that we found very useful was the nearby Brett's laundrette where you can get a good-sized load of clothes washed, dried and folded for 20 Euros.

This hotel is has the feeling of being in a castle, but is located right along a main street in Kilkenny with easy walking to dining, pubs, and shopping, as well as the Kilkenny Castle. We only stayed one night, but it was a great stopover as we traveled from Dublin to Cork.

The windows in our room were very dirty and little bugs gathered around the lights at night. It was also very noisy as the music from the beer garden drifted up to our windows and the noise from the crowd there woke us up late at night.

The staff really make this place, especially Jean who very was friendly and helpful towards my elderly father. The hotel room was a little dated but very clean, the bar area was pleasant to sit in the evening. Breakfast was in the dining room, there is no natural light which made it feel cave like! It's a buffet breakfast, good enough choice of cereals, fruit etc but the hot food choices were over cooked and cold. This hotel is great if you are visiting a Kilkenny for a short break, it's near the railways station, shopping centre and a short walk into the city centre. I would stay here again but on a room only basis.

Put me in a room at far end from night’s entertainment, allowed me to leave my luggage for a couple of hours, printed off my travel documents etc. Despite the unattractive menu design the food was very good.
