The staff was very friendly. We loved the pool area and our room just off the pool was perfect until it was time to go to sleep and we wanted to bathe. Barely a trickle of water dribbled into the tub. It was too late to call anyone.

The rooms were clean and spacious, making for a comfortable stay. It would have been even better if tea, coffee, and bottled water were provided in the kitchenette area. The only toiletry supplied was shower gel, so bring your own essentials if needed. The hairdryer was quite basic, so if you prefer a more powerful one, it’s worth taking your own.

The décor is a little dated and could use a refresh, but overall the facilities were fine. The location is excellent — it’s a great balance between having a beachfront hotel and being within easy reach of the town. There’s also convenient access to buses into Nerja, which was really handy.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating, and upgrades were available at an additional cost.

We went to our room after a friendly check in. Arrived to our room with an odour that was of strong Clorox covering up layers of mold and mildew. Cleanliness of the room was toxic. Wiped the floor and the napkin was orange.The headboard was sticky and had red stains, ugh. Immediately went to pool bar where the beer was good but the snacks were inedible. We searched for nearby properties knowing we would forfeit the full amount of our stay. Had a wonderful experience at the Riu Monica!
PS. Hotel is on outside fringe of Nerja and not a short walk to anything.

We had an extremely disappointing experience at this hotel from start to finish. After a long trip, we waited over three hours just to get a room, only to discover that it didn’t match the view we had paid for. We were moved three different times, yet none of the rooms came close to what was advertised or justified the price we paid.

The rooms are outdated and poorly maintained — the furniture is worn, the carpets are stained, and the hallways look more like a hospital corridor than a resort. Nothing about the accommodations reflects the photos or descriptions online.

The beach is another major letdown. It’s not sandy as shown, but mostly dirt and rocks, making it uncomfortable and uninviting. The buffet, while available, is poorly organized, with little clarity on what’s included, and staff were unhelpful and dismissive when we raised concerns.

To make matters worse, the property is about 1.5 miles from the city and far from everything. Without a car, getting anywhere convenient is difficult and time-consuming.

Overall, this property fell far short of expectations and was an utter disappointment. Save yourself the frustration — do not book here in Nerja. What a complete waste.

Noisy, thin walls, queues for breakfast, spa hotel but you had to pay extra for spa, busy on sunbeds, loud entertainment, emergency lights come on in our room at 7am one morning and at 4.49am on another morning, these lit the whole room up and woke us. staff were not interested in our concerns and when it was suggested on check out the least they could for our inconvenience is include the 8 euro bill for two glasses of wine as an apology they refused and didn't even apologise. Not a 4* hotel as advertised.

We booked a studio with balcony, having seen the pictures on Expedia but the room we got was nothing like it! No balcony, no view. Placed in corner room right next to ping pong table and bar. Towels replaced once during 6 day stay. Bed covers thrown over bed, not changed or made up. Floor wasn't brushed once. We asked to change room on arrival (Mon) but were told not possible until Wed. Told Tues evening not possible until Thursday, that reception would ring me. Rang me Thursday early afternoon to say no room as I should have gone to reception after breakfast (they had told me they would ring!) Receptionist said room may be available next day but not guaranteed. We were unable to unpack suitcases as had been told 3 times we would be moved to another room. I did not get the holiday I booked and paid for as advertised. I chose studio with balcony and view but the room we were given did not have a kitchen, balcony or view. The fridge was facing bed. On arrival it didnt even contain bottles of water! It cracked and banged throughout the night. Ping pong balls constantly hit our patio doors and we were right beside outside seating bar area, were other guests sat and smoked. The hotel is nothing like its advertised. All inclusive is restrictive. Not all cocktails, snacks or icecream included. Snacks can be ordered and paid for! I strongly feel this hotel is falsely advertised. We were not the only people who asked fir change of rooms. Pool area cordoned off for reasealing! V. Poor

Property was very clean and tidy. Reception are looked amazing, dining was ok, food was mostly cold as is always with buffet food, not much variety. Bar was like an old peoples home, looks and people wise, entertainment was a quiz and bingo. We went all inclusive but didnt like the amstel beer, didnt taste like normal so bought heniken as wasnt on all inc. deal, soft drinks were flat also. Apartments was ok overall, we had spectacular views staff were polite, limited english but that was ok, always helpful. Mini market on site was a bit expensive but it was there if you wanted anything, overall it was ok, town was a 25 min walk from the hotel. Next time we will stay in town as most of everything happened there from 6pm onwards, Balcon de europa amazing, restaurants amazing. Weather wzs also hot for start of April too.

Large apart-hotel by the beach, 15 minutes scenic walk on the promenade to Nerja. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment with a balcony and beautiful views. The decor was slightly outdated but the apartment was particularly spacious, very comfortable and with a big bathroom. It was spotless and thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis by friendly staff. We stayed Half-Board. The main downside for us was the food which was of poor quality although there was plenty of it. It didn't help that the restaurant was lit up with neon-lights and felt like a refectory. There was a grilled fish option every night and we managed OK with that and the overcooked stewed vegetables or salads and delicious melon slices. We avoided the cheese, ham and charcuterie which were of the plasticky, reconstituted type. In short, this is good value hotel to use as a convenient base but the food is definitely not 4 star.

We had a three night stay as a group of friends - two mums and daughters. Initially booked a one bed apartment, however the sofa bed had not been made up on arrival, there was no bedding/towels etc. and the bathroom was off the main bedroom so was not practical at all for a group to share. We ended up changing and paying extra for a two bed apartment which was much better.
The hotel is clean, however in need of some modernisation in the rooms. We also noticed pest control doing a deep clean on several rooms on our floor which was a little off putting… might have been better not to have anyone staying in the rooms in close proximity to those being treated!!
Food choice was good and there was something for everyone.
It’s a good 25 minute walk into Nerja with not much in the immediate vicinity, but really useful to have a main bus stop directly outside the hotel. We did a trip into Malaga, and lots of other routes we could have tried too.
Overall, wouldn’t return. The pest control put me off, and it’s too far out the centre.

One reception of sword super helpful but another male on duty in the evening was so rude. Huffing g and puffing that he had to get out of his chair to come speak to guests. Imagine having to actually do your job.

Only notes I have concern food. If you are having a themed dinner, include the side dishes. They served Fajitas , but no tortillas. Curry dishes, but no samosas Indian bread or white rice. In general everything was great. Great basic value and beautiful views. Friendly staff.

Beach is nice but stoney which is fine. The pool area is nice but barely any umbrella for shade and the lifeguard has so many silly rules (no adults standing in the kid pool? How do you want me to be near my kid then?) The grass area is solid but you can’t keep an eye if you have little kids. Rooms were gross!! Very basic. Back door didn’t lock. Room keys stop working every single day. The smell of urine in the bathrooms is constant. House keeping is very basic. They’ll make the bed and give you a few towels. Won’t touch anything else. Kids club is not a real kids club. They won’t watch your kids so it’s more of a playground. Staff were friendly for the most part. Location is convenient to the center of town. Getting taxis was easy enough. The buffet was hit or miss. Can be very greasy at times and by the end of 7 days I was so sick of it. Bar tenders were hot or miss. Some could barely make a cocktail (the worst margarita I’ve ever tasted lol) others were very friendly and talented. Walls were paper thin. The family next door would yell at each other at night. All in all we really enjoyed spending time with family and the kids enjoyed the pool but we won’t be coming back anytime soon.

Very pleasant stay over Easter

I stayed here over Easter with my family. Overall, we all had a wonderful holiday, but it didn't get off to the best start. At 2am on our first night, we realised we'd been placed on the side of the hotel where there is a dog that barks constantly. My family got little sleep that night, maybe a couple of hours at 6am when it finally stopped. Now, I had already read reviews from others about this barking dog issue, and so 3 weeks before my arrival, I e-mailed the hotel reception, to request a quiet room, away from the barking dog, but this was disregard it seems. Anyway, the hotel moved us and we were very happy with our new room. Totally avoidable though.
Rooms are bit dated, but this did not bother me in the least, it was clean and comfortable and the cleaners came in each day. There was lots of wardrobe space. We asked reception to borrow an adapter, as there was only one socket in one of the bedrooms, our teens were happy with this as they could then charge their phones at the same time. Very slow WiFi, drops in and out constantly.
Food imp was very good, something for everyone and very tasty. There was always some fresh fish and meat being cooked by the chef at dinner time. The restaurant staff are very friendly and attentive, and will help you get a table during busy times and they will bring your drinks order over to you.
The pool area and beach club are very well maintained, clean, with lots of sunbeds. Leo does a great job of animation.
Would highly recommend!

Nice relaxing three days. Property was in adequate condition but show some wear. Biggest drawback is that virtually everything on the buffet was drown in salt. The cooks would prepare some salt free items if asked but, of course, you had to wait for them to be prepared. All in all, an enjoyable experience

The property could use a refresh but first, the chefs need to reduce the amount of salt in all their food to a level that allows the taster to, at least, identify the food being eaten. We loved our room and view of pool and sea shore. The reception/ checking in were helpful and friendly.
Dining room nice . The coffee in machines was truly awful, and spoiled the breakfast experience , other guests had noticed this too .The fruit juices could have been better or an option to purchase fresh orange as an extra would be welcomed. At dinner the drinks were more expensive than other hotels , the water being an amazing double what we paid in previous 4* hotels.
Great E V charging point which was welcome and appreciated.

7 of us went as a family x 2 bedroom rooms and it was just the best week ever.
Rooms amazing and we had room 203 what a view.

Staff was awesome just a couple ov barstaff a little short temper but cricky they never ever stop.
Loved it so much me and hubby going back in October.
Shows was good but for me i loved the flamenco.
As per like all hotels people watching in the morning for the sun beds is so funny but you always get them fools.

We were first placed in a very low room with only view of concrete. Requested to move. Better. The rooms did not smell great and the terrace plastic chairs poor. Breakfast was good but reminded of cruise ship. Soooo many children and everyone very loud very late. Club at night full of children. Pool closes too early. Beach was ok. Drinks were ok. We had a fantastic stay at Marinas de Nerja. We were there for 9 days, and it was beautiful and enjoyable. The value was incredible. We requested a room with a sea view and were very happy to receive that. We were able to see the pool and sea from our room, and a beautiful palm tree right in front of our room. We enjoyed the pool and beach area very much. It was never crowded and we were always able to find chairs where we wanted (sun or shade). I loved how the beach chairs were actually on the grass in front of the beach and not allowed on the beach, so you wouldn't get sandy. Parking was free and there was plenty of it. We also wanted into Nerja one night which was a nice walk. Breakfast was amazing - it was included in our stay and we really enjoyed it. I just wish it opened a little earlier.

The only room for improvement I could see was the gym - it was a bit tired and not very usable. The machines were old and rusty, and the pulley machine didn't work. The free weights only went up to 5 kg. We ended up doing video workouts in our room. That was a bit disappointing as we like to work out daily.

The pool was not heated and so it was a bit chilly for us, but we went in anyway. We were there end of April/beginning of May. I suspect it is much warmer in the summer.

The pool bar was very nice. They made very good drinks and had free coffee. Plenty of water and ice cream as well.

We absolutely loved our stay and were sad to leave. We can't wait to go back!

Making a visit to Frigiliana, this hotel was a perfect place to stay. Just ten minutes drive up the hill to Frigiliana and right on the beach. The rooms were large with kitchenette, living room, huge balcony with beautiful pool and ocean views and breakfast and dinner were included!

Rooms are great - specially the sea-view rooms. However, as previous reviewers have pointed out there are no tea and coffee sachets in the room - just a kettle and a few cups. The breakfast and dinner are average at best - we have stayed in many similar resorts in Spain and the food here was lacking the usual high standards both in terms of range of choice and quality. The staff in the restaurant was very hard working and polite however the reception staff needs a bit more training in my opinion. Our room locker was not working and after we requested them to fix it, no one turned up despite promises being made. A note for management - reception is the face of a hotel. Winter sun break

Our second visit to this hotel, doesnt disappoint. Accommodation and hotel is spotlessly clean, staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a mixed group of nationalities amongst the guests which makes for interesting conversation.
Buffet meals are excellent, a great choice for us as pescetarians, but also for vegitarians too. Its a nice walk onto Nerja along the beach which gets your legs moving. Would highly recommend and will be back again, thanks for a great holiday

The large pool was excellent and we had a very roomy apartment with kitchen, living area and big bedroom. There were plenty of Sun loungers outside and the sea was very close. We couldn’t get the tv or hairdryer to work. We could hear our neighbour snoring through the rather thin wall. It could be noisy in the evening with many guests sitting outside having drinks.

Excellent area, lovely staff, very clean, rooms very well equipped, food excellent for a half board experience. Only issues were noise from other guests in early hours as our room was near outside bar and noise during day from children pool. Restaurant food was lovely but because of size of restaurant can feel like a very busy cafe, noisy and stark lighting. Overall, nice experience but wouldn’t go again because of issues stated, great family place.

Beautiful property with convenient food, fun pools and activities, and a big sprawling beach right at your fingertips. The breakfast buffet was great and had a huge selection. We were really able to settle in and relax.

The service was overall amazing. My son had a pretty severe reaction to a tiger mosquito bite, and the front desk called a private doctor who came to our room within the hour.

My only negatives (I wish I didn’t have any), the rooms were a little more rundown than I expected. And the dinner buffet was only mediocre. But the price and location can’t be beat, there really is nothing else like it in the area!

- Clean
- Lovely service - helpful staff, always smiling, spoke good English
- Excellent Breakfast - efficient despite the numbers being served and good selection
- Sound proofing excellent - for example, couldn’t hear the live entertainment when sleeping
- Free coffee all day was good
- Air con excellent

Not so good…
- the WiFi was poor. Often not working so we ran out of data on our phones
- Room odd design - for example, the kids beds were end to end
- Quite a walk to Nerja - no supermarket near
- Clearer pricing on the bar would have been good - we got Fanta free when we bought pringles, but we weren’t sure why!
- Beds were quite uncomfortable

This is our second stay at this location, and I must admit the level of service hasn't changed. Greeted by fab reception staff through the checkin, and always helpful throughout our stay.

Excellent selection of food at Breakfast lunch and dinner.

Bar staff are so patient and polite.

Entertainment for the kids is really good, evening entertainment could be improved though.

We stayed in a two bed apartment, separate sofa bed in lounge, with ;large balcony.

Kitchen has a microwave, and also an electric stove, fridge and kitchen sink.

Please note Taxi's in the area are not as widely available as other places, and they only take 4 passengers per taxi, we were a family of 5, so had to get two cabs each time. However there is a bus on the door stop of the hotel which leave 55 mins past each hour into the city centre

Hotel was situated very near to the beach and sea, you could walk into Nerja takes around 25 mins, bus stop just outside the hotel 1 euro to Nerja, last bus back 8.50. Taxi around 10 euros back to hotel. If there was a negative then a few more bars and restaurants would be good near to hotel.

We had the most amazing time here! The resort is immaculate and it's location can't be beat. Because it was Easter weekend, the restaurant only served buffets, and every meal was inexpensive and delicious with a great variety of options. We will definitely return!

The hotel is in a great location, clean, the food is great, and the staff are excellent. In particular, the male receptionist who signed me in, the maitre de, and Alberto in the restaurant.
However, the hotel rooms are tired and the towels and bedding need refreshing.
Although the staff are excellent one female person (possibly a supervisor/maitre de) in the restaurant impacts negatively on her colleagues. She is hard-working but needs to improve her communication and leadership style with colleagues.

The hotel itself is superb with a wonderful buffet-style restaurant and truly excellent staff who always strive to please. The hotel and surrounding area was maintained very well indeed despite the challenging sand storm. I also thought the 'gratis' hot drinks machine in the bar area was a great amenity. I wish to convey my personal thanks for noticing my birthday and providing a bottle of Cava in the room, which was a wonderful surprise. Very many thanks for a lovely week. (Terry & Jill Room 516)
