When we first arrived they assigned us to dirty rooms, one had a broken bathroom door and the other had a disgusting smell. After we complained we got new rooms where one of them shared a door with the room next to it, the guest in the other room were playing really loud music and shouting all night. We tried to get help from the staff twice, they called them the first time but that didnt help so we complained again and the staff told us that they couldnt do anything about the loud noise at night.

Breakfast was more than expected and can be rated as 3.5* but all the rest can be rated as good 3*. Location is very central and convenient for new comers and travellers in air transit to and from CRL airport. I used shuttle A1, it operates almost in front of the hotel. Only thing that was not good was that they turned off heating from midnight until morning.

I'm a regular user of IBIS hotels and as you can see from previous reviews i love the hotel chain. Charleroi is just ok, reception not friendly on arrival and the hotel is tired. Breakfast was ok though and i would have given a better rating, unfortunately i was in 303 and woke up in the morning to see a blood filled bed bug!!

The area looks and feels not safe. But the main problem is the staff was not helpful. We arrived the hotel around 11 pm we parked the car at car park and they asked 12.5 Euros for the car park extra but it was not written on the listing.

I had an enjoyable stay at this hotel. Rooms a little dated, and air conditioning wasn't working effectively, but a desk fan was left in the room to help. The service was very friendly, very helpful and accommodating for the purpose of my trip. The hotel was located very conveniently for the railway station. I would stay here again.

A bad Ibis, seems more basic even than a normal Ibis if that's possible.
The whole building was like an oven, none existent air conditioning.

Upside, a comfortable bed to lie on, you won't be in it because of the heat.

Disgusting hotel with false advertising

Rooms were advertised with air conditioning, it did not work so they changed us to 2 new rooms, again air con did not work so they had several fans in the room which were useless , also one room had a toilet that did not flush - it is false advertising to suggest air conditioning when it does not work proven by the fact that all rooms had several small fans, one we switched on smelt like it was burning and very dangerous, the other was so noisy it could not be used - this hotel should be reported for false advertising

Hotel was OK but area not so good. Noisy city, very run down and no places of interest at at within walking distance. Very few places to eat in the evening. Travelling to and from our hotel to our destination each day was both complicated and difficult by car, duecto proliferation of 6-lane motorways everywhere and difficult to access urban roads in and out of the city. Would not consider visiting ever again.

The hotel is convenient for Charleroi airport but that’s where anything good stops about it.

The bathroom had mould on the wall and ceiling. The toilet still had someone else crap stains in it. Every room has wooden floors but they have these plastic chairs that make this awful loud noise when they are moved.

Lovely hotel. Literally directly across from the train station. Perfect for a one night stop over for CRL airport. Staff were perfect, facilities were as expected! We purchased brekki & there were a large range of options!

Large shopping centre & a lovely lil mining museum to spend a good day out in.

Budget hotel, U get what u pay for ! Stayed for 3 nights, air con didn’t work, our room wasn’t serviced, had to ask reception for clean towels on daily basis, room (119) overlooked back of hotel so the view was of derelict buildings.
Handy for shopping (everything closed on a Sunday) and public transport (metro/bus/train) 3 min walk
Area doesn’t seem safe, lots of boarded up buildings and bars selling “laughing gas” balloons

Good location for rail travelers. Airport bus adjacent to train terminal. The next time I travel from Brussels South I will transit to airport directly and avoid Charleroi.
The place is a mess, garbage spilling from all containers in town. The room was noisy from ventilation fan running outside window. They kindly provided earplugs on bedside table. Breakfast expensive for the variety so I passed. I have stayed in better places for less money recently in Europe.

Google struggled to find this hotel (wrong side of the river)
It is a budget hotel (but no tea making facilities) - which for the price, you’d think would be included.
Very noisy people in the room next door - TV very loud until 01.00, but that isn’t the hotels fault.
Best thing is the convenience. 15 euro for a continental breakfast was over the top.

Dreadful Low Budget - Overpriced Dump

The hotel was massively overpriced for this dreadfully poor place. The rooms were like low end student accommodation.
Sold as having air conditioning - but this did not work.
The room was so hot and the beds do uncomfortable that we hardly slept at all. The following morning the receptionist refused to give me a receipt (business trip) because I had already paid when I made the booking. After several requests and being told that it was not possible - I told her I would call my card company and tell the the payment was fraudulent. Then as if by magic she could print me a receipt.

Stayed here for 1 night as we had a early flight out of Charleroi airport in the morning. Checked in around 8pm and the man on reception was very helpful and made us feel welcome. He booked us a taxi for the morning which was €17 but we shared the taxi with other hotel guests which the hotel arranged so only cost €8.50 for the 2 of us. Hotel room was very basic but everything you need for a night of 2.

Ibis would normally get a 3 from me. It's an Ibis, convenient, good value and basically just about OK. This one is well located in Charleroi, although having visited many towns over the last week, Charleroi is nothing to write home about. I have given it a 4 simply because the guy on the desk was so helpful to me. I think he was called Bruno. There was an issue parking my motorbike and despite the fact he had finished his shift, he helped me find a spot and get it in to position. We has a credit to the hotel.

The interior of the hotel is very tired and in need of a major refurbishment. I booked 3 rooms for me and my two brothers, each room was very small, very dated and extremely noisy with building works going on outside andf walls so thin you can here other guests going to the loo so sound insulation is not good.
There are no tea /coffee making facilities in rooms.

We visited the bar on three occasions but as only one member of staff was available we had a long wait as he was also running receptions booking in and out so we had to wait - not good !
Would I go there again - No chance
Would I recommend this hotel to anyone else - Definitely not.

Ibis Hotels need to get their act together and consider the client and not their shareholders.

Base for travelling to Brussles

We stayed here as we flew into Charleroi late in the evening. We were in Belgium for football in Brussels so got the first train on the Thursday and last train back.

The hotel is situated perfectly for the train station and is literally 2 minutes walk away. Hotel was basic and clean, but very good for the price. Didn't see much of Charleroi itself, went to one Irish pub but not much else open.

Would definitely recommend for a short trip if access to Charleroi airport and train to Brussles is required.

Hotel was ok. Rooms are very small, the wifi worked well, the bed was comfortable and the shower worked well. (One thing that should be noted is that Bathroom doors do not have locks).
