The stay at the place is standard and the only good thing is the view. The hotel suits more to groups rather than single bookings. It’s disappointing that for a 4 star hotel there is not mini bar, you have to sign a deposit for the robes and that waitering staff at the restaurant are quite rude - from the morning to the late evening they would let you enjoy your food in quite but shout to each other all the time. We had a double bed with wasn’t even a double and it kept separating as it was 2 single beds, even after this no so great experience they refunded us for the spa. I would double think before booking here.

I stayed at Maristel with a friend and we had a lovely experience. The staff were friendly and very helpful, the breakfast was lovely, healthy and fresh - Exactly what we needed and wanted.

The only downside is that there isn't much parking outside the hotel, and it fills up quickly

Beautiful views, amazing room! I had a massage with Veronica who is the best. Cannot recommend highly enough!
Parking is on street and has not been a problem for us, you can unload outside the reception. our room was across the road from the hotel and was perfect. Peaceful and beautiful views. We haven't stayed in the rooms in the hotel itself but I would definitely recommend the rooms across the road. Breakfast was great too.

Dear Maristel Hotel,

We had a great time at your hotel. We loved the breakfast and services. Very nice terracces and pool area. Parking was always available.

But we had a room in the second building and we had the feeling that the facilities and conditions of the rooms are not in the same standard as the rooms at the main hotel building. Our A/C was old and wasn't strong and well working. In the bathroom was a smell out of the sink in the morning and in general the bathroom interior seems to get older. Also the toilet was leaking and there was water on the floor.
For the pricing of 160 EUR per night, it might be a bit too much?! For a 160 EUR room per night we expected actually a different standard. For my friend was the bed also too soft. The mattress was laid out.

All in all we loved our stay, the hotel, especially the breakfast and the beautiful main hotel building with pool and sun terrace! But it comparison services and pricing it could be more faire for rooms that are in the second building.

Not as great as expected. No bike renta available though it is advertised as a main thing, you have to reserve 7 days ahead- no info about it anywhere. Hot tub was cold. Room had no body wash, seemed like decor was missing. Breakfast was great though staff seems to be busy and stressed not too guest oriented.

A lovely hotel for a relaxing break. We enjoyed using the indoor spa and reading by the pool outside. Breakfast was excellent and on a lovely terrace outside. Very comfortable, clean, large room with a small balcony and a sea view. Staff were very friendly. Highly recommend.

A very well run and friendly hotel. Magnificent views. The building itself is nicely proportioned and well built with no fussy details. We had a junior suite which was a good size, one small gripe, the room ac is fairly ineffective, meaning the nights were pretty warm.

Very helpful, friendly staff. Great location for walking down to a lovely little beach, incredible swimming in clear water. On a road but not too busy. Swimming pool quite small but plenty of sun loungers. The restaurant was excellent and not too expensive.

Small village not so easy to get to, good idea to hire a car if you don't mind windy roads. Fab views of beautiful west coast for lunch and dinners.
The quiet village with fabulous sunsets well worth it.

Nice hotel in relaxing village

Quiet and relaxing. Small village, only 383 residents. Only 1 very small shop.
Couple of really nice places to eat serving Mallorcean food. 2 cafes for breakfast/ coffees.
There's a bus service quite frequent but not in evening.
A very winding road to get to hotel, may put people off but it's worth it. We hired a car and was handy for visiting supermarket and other towns, but wouldn't look to drive too often.
If you want relaxing and getting away from it all worth a visit.

Go for the sunset

The hotel is not super modern and most rooms have two single beds, which we were not thrilled about. However the pool area is lovely, the view from our room was amazing, the staff were great too. I am not sure its a great hotel for a long holiday with kids, but for adults wanting to chill out or/and do some hiking its perfect. This side of the island (we live in palma) is really very special.

A heavenly place

High standards of service and quality are are the heart of this hotel. Rooms are spacious and have all the facilities one needs. Pools and spa are excellent. Staff are helpful courteous and respectful. They have pride in their hotel.
Meal times are civilised and the food is of a good quality.
Price of extras is fair.

Lovely! But a few things could be better.

The reasonably priced Maristel Hotel & Spa is a lovely place in a lovely setting, just as it appears in the hotel photos. The included breakfast was a delicious buffet with plentiful options. My room was clean and comfortable. Overall, I really liked the place and would consider returning. Just three suggestions for improvement: 1-The indoor spa area was supposed to be a relaxing/quiet area, and there were posted signs that said as much. However, when I tried to go, there were lots of children playing there loudly, and nobody from the hotel was enforcing the rules, despite their awareness that this was happening. They just told me I should try again after the kids leave, when really, they should have relocated the kids to the outdoor pool, or insisted that the parents control their kids' behavior, especially in an area, designated by the hotel, for relaxation. 2-It was disappointing, and strange, that there were 3 hot tubs, but they were all filled with cold water. I know it's summer, but still! A spa should have a hot tub. and 3-A 4-star hotel should not charge extra for a reasonable amount of photocopies and the use of the safe in the room.

Nice hotel with great views to a small village in the Sierra de Tramontana. Rooms are big and cozy with pretty big bathroom and a balcony. The views are simply astonishing. It's close to two restaurants and a coffee shop. Recommended.

Stunning setting

This hotel is located in à beautiful, old Mallorca village. It has character and is surrounded by amazing views. It provides a calm peaceful holiday or short break, especially for people who want to experience Mallorcan life without the hustle and bustle of some of the resorts. There is no beach so not the place for people who want to sunbathe by the sea.

Great place to unwind.

3 nights stay at the end of a 10 day holiday. Stayed at the hotel previously and always been satisfied. Lovely pool area and indoor facilities if weather turns chilly. Great value for money but stayed on a room only basis as previously been disappointed with breakfast and the dining room in the evening lacks atmosphere.

Perfect place for relaxing holiday

This is the place to go to for a relaxing, chilling out holiday. It doesn't have the buzz of lively resorts but if you want that you go elsewhere. It is a peaceful mountain resort hotel with friendly, helpful unobtrusive staff, spotlessly clean rooms and facilities, fabulous views, good walking area and a base for exploring the island. Wouldn't really suit families with young children. The breakfast buffet is of an excellent standard and provides a good variety for different tastes. Local bars and restaurants are few but all of good quality and provide a service with a local feel. This was our third visit to this hotel and won't be our last, we have never been disappointed about any aspect of our stay.

A great find!

Only spent 3 nights here. The hotel is located within a small village which is a great base for walking or cycling. Apart from a few restaurants, there is nothing else here, not even a shop! A beautiful area to explore. The hotel rooms are very clean and fresh, providing toiletries, coffee/tea making facilities and a TV with limited English speaking channels. There is also free wifi. The outside pool area, is a very quiet relaxing place to unwind and enjoy the perfect view.

Good value hotel, ideal for a short break

We enjoyed a four night stay in Estellences. Hotel Maristel is one of two hotels in this small village. There are two pools & spas a restaurant and bar.
Our bedroom was a standard room with sea view, a goodsized bathroom and small balcony. The beds were are only criticism. ...not particularly comfortable and two singles pushed together, not the queen that we booked.
Overall good value hotel in a beautiful part of Majorca.

Quiet and comfortable

Maristel is located in a little and quiet village of Estellencs. The hotel has all you need, comfortable and clean rooms, spa indoor as well as outdoor and a small golf course. It serves a very tasty breakfast composed of local delicacies which are varied every day. That was a very nice surprise as usually you end up eating the same thing everyday. The staff are very nice and all speak a number of useful languages and are very helpful in providing tips of where to travel. Just wonderful and relaxing.

Excellent view but far away from the city.

Hotel was clean but the sheets were not changed every day as meant to (despite leaving the card on the bed). The view is amazing. The pool was great and the staff were very helpful. Bear in mind that the hotel is about 40mins driving from the city as it's on a winding road up the mountains where you cannot drive fast. Nice food in the area and the ride up/down is amazing with all the trees and nature around.

Great hotel in a fantastic location. We had a large room with a balcony that had a beautiful view of the sea. The buffet breakfast sets you up for the day. The indoor pool/ spa is very clean and very nice. As is the outdoor pool.

Amazingly good hotel offering tremendous value

For once we found the annex was probably better than the main hotel. We had initial concerns that our room overlooked a garden with 3 barking dogs (they only barked at men - women had a easy passage!); a nearby clock that chimed every quarter of an hour and all the hours on the hour; and the adjacent Terrace Cafe with chatty guests - but none of that mattered. The terrific sea view (and terrific is probably an understatement) from the balcony made these potential irritants disappear. We ourselves became part of the Cafe crowd; the dogs didn't bother us; and we liked the regular time reminders too.
Loved Estellencs - really honest and friendly village with the Terrace Cafe (Vall Hermos with superb sea views and draught beer) and a very good restaurant (Montimar) were both only a few short steps away from the Hotel Maristel.

Relaxing stay with superb views

A very well run hotel offering superb views over the Mallorcan coastline. We booked through Expedia and booked a room with a Queen bed so were a little disappointed to find that we were given a twin room. The hotel was fully booked at the time of our visit so a change to another room could not be accommodated.

Overall though, the setting, facilities and atmosphere of the hotel were very good and the beautiful town of Estellencs offered just what we wanted for a 5 night break.

Lovely tranquil break

This is a lovely hotel in an amazing peaceful location. The facilities were excellent and the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The view from our room was fantastic as was the view from the pool. Breakfast was a buffet style with abundance choice for everyone and everything was of good quality. We never ate our evening meal within the hotel so I am unable to comment on the quality.
I would visit this hotel again, however I would ask not to be put in room 221 again as it was noisy at times at night as people returned to their rooms as it was next to the stairwell and lift shaft on the ground floor.

The perfect 'away from it all' place

From the moment we checked in to the time we left everything was perfect. We did not get a room with a view of the sea but this hardly mattered when compared to everything else on offer. Our room was in the building across the road from the main building. It was large and very comfortable with a big bathroom, shower, bath and double sink. We had a balcony which looked across to the mountains and the main street through the village so we could watch all the 'comings' and 'goings'.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful, breakfast was very good with a wide range of hot and cold food, excellent quality (except the bananas, which had seen better days!) and the evening meal was fantastic value. You may pay less if you go to a local restaurant but you will not get such a good deal. For a very reasonable price you get a buffet with 6 courses with a bottle of house wine and sparkling water included. Again the food was superb quality and as much as you want.
The facilities are also brilliant. We didn't try the indoor pool, sauna or putting course but the outdoor pool was big enough to have a decent swim and there were never more than about 3/4 people there and this was high season. It is all attractively laid out on different levels. Internet was available by reception and again was not greatly used and there was a range of newspapers (including an English language Mallorcan paper) also available.
We highly recommend this fantastic hotel and would happily return any time.

Staff very friendly and accommodating when we arrived quite late. Breakfasts very good. The only meal we ate. Location brilliant if walking or touring the Tramuntana mountains and Estellencs is very pretty with a number of very good restaurants and bars. Great spar with loads of different features including turkish baths, sauna, jacuzzi etc. Very warm indoor pool. It was too cold to try the terraced outdoor pool but that would be great in the summer with lovely views of the mountains and sea.

Nice hotel in a cosy mountain village

Although a little bit old, the hotel is very nice. The spa seemed to be renovated recently and included everything you could ask for. The pool area had a great view over the sea had a lot of space. The breakfast increadible with a lot to choose from. The staff was friendly, always with a smile on their faces. The village Estellencs is genuine with at least one very good resturant. Free parking a bit down the road was always available. Highly recommmended!

A Spring break for walking and flower hunting

We stayed at this hotel in February 2010 and liked it so much that we decided to return in April 2012. This time we had a room on the opposite side of the road to the main building with a beautiful view across the older parts of the village to the sea. Although a little busier than during our earlier stay, the hotel was still very peaceful and relaxing during our 6 night stay.

We were walking the GR221 trail across the mountains and the hotel appeared as if by magic just at the end of that day's hike. Many people staying there were on walking or cycling holidays.
Beautiful view from the room down towards the sea.
The hotel pictures don't do it justice.
We would have liked to stay longer in Estellencs, a pretty village with a couple of appealing bars and restaurants and a beach cove a short distance away, but we had to keep on walking!

We stayed at this hotel as part of our long distance walk from south to north. The staff were very friendly and helpful I.e made sure we got to the pool and extensive spa facilities as quickly as possible! Room was large and comfortable. I would recommend booking ahead if you want to eat but won't arrive till late. We didn't and I think missed out on some good food.

A lovely hotel which is well situated. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast out on the beautiful terrace and thought it was very good value. During the evening we ate in local restaurants/cafe which had more appealing menus than the hotel's buffet selection.

I would point out that although the website says 'most' rooms have a balcony (not just for a sea view), ours didn't so if you don't want to be disappointed, make sure you either request one or pay extra for a sea view! Having said that, our room was huge with a large bathroom. I would certainly recommend this hotel and would happily go back.

Hotel Maristel - Very Relaxing

Just back from the Hotel Maristel. Our Room (we were in the new building across the road from the main hotel) was modern, very clean with a big bathroom with his and hers sinks great!! Breakast was buffet style with lots of choice and we really enjoyed everything. Pool inside and out were fab everything was very relaxing for our 3 night stay. Would definately recommend this Hotel for a short Break but you will need a car as it is very remote. Also went to two lovely restaurants for dinner in the little town.

Peaceful break

This is a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. The bus from Palma takes an hour to get directly to Estellencs along a dramatic coastline. This small village has three or four places to eat and a couple of bars. It is quaint and quiet, a ten minute walk taking you down to a secluded pebbly beach and cove. The village is surrounded by farms and within reach of some lovely walks, for instance (4 hrs) up Mt. Galatzo whose peak gives a glorious long-distance view of the area. The hotel is lovely, with a small swimming pool, terrace area and solarium. Helpful, friendly staff and an 'eat all you can' buffet breakfast for 8 Euros. A real find, a lovely peaceful retreat!

A really welcoming and lovely hotel

We had an excellent short break at the Maristel. It's perfect for walkers as you can go on a variety of walks from the hotel; and if you're not into walking the hotel's pool and indoor spa facilities are lovely too. The best thing about the hotel was the welcome by the staff - they were unfailingly friendly and helpful. The village is quiet but picturesque, with great views of the sea and a few nice places to eat and drink. You can get by without a car as there is a reasonable bus service into Palma - about 1 hour 15mins, it is reliable and cheap. We are definitely planning to go back!

Das Hotel selbst war ok, allerdings sehr hellhörig, kein Parkplatz. Das Frühstück war gut, das Restaurant hatte Höhen und Tiefen im Service, war tw. nicht wirklich hilfsbereit. Einmal sind wir gegangen, weil einige Speisen nicht verfügbar waren und man bei anderen keine Bereitschaft hatte, auch nur die geringste Abweichung zur Karte vorzunehmen. Schade!

Ein sehr schönes kleines und ruhiges Hotel.
Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.
Besonders hervorzuheben ist das Frühstück! Es war sehr lecker.
Der Poolbereich ist zwar klein, bietet aber genügend Platz. Liegen waren immer frei.
Die Zimmer sind Standardmäßig eingerichtet. Uns hat ein Spiegel im Zimmer gefehlt. Sonst waren die Zimmer nicht sonderlich modern aber in Ordnung.
Parken ist eine Katastrophe.
Im Dorf gibt es einen kleinen Laden wo alle notwendigen Sachen zu bekommen sind. Allerdings etwas teurer als im Supermarkt.
Wir würden das Hotel auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen.

The hotel is in a great location and really has a very nice view from the sea view rooms. The staff are friendly and the breakfast is relatively plentiful for the size of the hotel and of a high quality. However, the rooms are a disaster for the price (we paid €255 per night for a deluxe double room). The furnishings are ancient and don't even come close to resembling the photos, neither the colour nor the furnishings. The wardrobe doors were so crooked that they almost fell off, the walls were dirty and had streaks of paint on them and there weren't even any slots for the lock in the bathroom door frame. The slots were nicked with a knife after we reported it to reception and instead of being given a new, clean and tidy room, we were only given an apology card with two cocktails on the house. Unfortunately, the walls and ceilings are very noisy and there are hardly any places to eat in the city. The few dishes in the hotel bistro are delicious. The spa area is in a kind of basement and even if everything there is kept simple and not ugly, it is not worth spending a whole day there to relax. The roof terrace with pool and a great view is better.
Conclusion: The location and view are great, the rooms are an absolute flop for the price.

Wir hatten das Hotel hauptsächlich aufgrund der Lage und des Blicks ins Tal gebucht. Aus unserer Sicht liegt es preislich auch etwas über dem Durchschnitt. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Meerblick gebucht. Allerdings bekamen wir ein Zimmer, bei dem nur die halbe Bucht zu sehen war und die halbe Sicht war die Seitenwand des Hotels. Deshalb haben wir vor Ort noch einmal einen Aufpreis für einen Premium Raum bezahlt. Der Blick von diesem Zimmer war traumhaft. Der Raum selbst war aber sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Das Bad sehr alt, Fugen defekt, fleckige Fließen. Im Zimmer selbst die Möbel sehr abgewohnt und die Bodenfließen lagen teilweise hohl und klapperten beim Darübergehen. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung, konnte aber mit den anderen Hotels auf unserer Rundreise nicht mithalten. In Summe war der Preis für die Qualität zu hoch. Fazit: Sehr schöne Lage, aber Sanierungsstau.

Hotel razoável. Parece ser bem antigo, atendimento ok e limpeza poderia ser melhor. O spa precisa ser renovado.
Não é um hotel 4 estrelas, precisaria melhorar em vários sentidos.
Me arrependi de ter ficado aqui.
