Nice hotel close to St Paul de Vence and Foundation Maeght; small but comfortable rooms with patio (which we had) or balcony; good breakfast buffet; free parking on site; friendly staff; thanks to the gentleman at the front desk who helped us with our booking and luggage on the day of arrival.

The rooms are large, clean, well maintained and well equipped. I loved the art and around of the lobby area. It's all very tasteful and pleasing to the eyes. The service is also top notch.

Great place. Dining options slightly pricey and buffet breakfast at 25E seemed a bit steep.

But excellent atmosphere, very quiet corridors and a peaceful setting round the pool. Tennis was a welcome bonus too!

High end hotel in the hillside

Great pool with lovely sun loungers and shady spots. There’s a pool bar with snack food and a more formal restaurant which was lovely.

The pool bar service wasn’t great and it’s difficult to get water refills which in the heat isn’t good. But other than that the service is lovely, hotel parking is good, room was a nice size and clearly newly renovated.

They added rose petals on our bed as we’ve just got married which was a lovely touch.

Service is not up to standard as a 4-star hotel

Generally speaking the hotel is nice, but I don’t think it’s service is up to the standard as a 4-star hotel. The room is clean but there was bad smell from the bathroom; One of the towels got some pubic hairs on it……. Very gross, I’ve asked to replace it. Regarding the service, we’ve come to the reception asking for wine glasses and wine opener, then they referred us to the bar to get it, but nobody’s at the bar at all, we’ve been waiting for 10 mins then go back to the room, and call the operator to ask for that, then it’s still the receptionist taking up the phone and still asked us to go to the bar, we explained that no one in the bar and hope that they can bring them to us. Then the receptionist said she’ll check, after a while she called back and told us then the bar man is there and asked us to go out to get it…. As a 4-star hotel, we assumed that we could get these delivered to the room instead of all the hassles. The pool bar and the bar have nobody at all during the official opening time, we observed that it’s always the ladies in reception doing all the work, we went to the reception asking for a beer to the pool, the receptionist get to the bar and telling that they can only offer beer bottles because no bartender there, then we’ve ordered 2 bottles of Corona which cost €18 and she barely found a lime for it. I think the staff are friendly but the hotel do not provide them with proper training and it’s too short of hands. Not a very pleasant experience to stay.

A very nice and beautiful hotel, located in a peaceful area surrounded by lots of trees. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Dinner we had at the restaurant was amazing. My only negative comment is that i heard the guy in the next room snoring one night, walls should be soundproofed. For me i slept easily because i was tired, but hopefully my neighbors did the same on all the other nights and mornings when i went wild with my wife :D

The location of this hotel is ideal. It is situated in a very quiet area. The road leading into the hotel is tree lined and very appealing. Yet it is a very easy drive to the Village of Saint Paul de Vence. Especially through back road, it is quite close. Both the interior and the ground are full of interesting art works. There is a swimming pool for the family and certainly very desirable in hot summer days. The dining area and outdoor breakfast area offer nice views of the garden, so does the balcony in the room. The room decoration is quite modern. The only negative aspect is the outdated and worn-out carpet. It may not be dirty but certainly looks stained and discoloured. It desperately needs upgrade. Services are good.

The property was virtually empty whereas other hotels in the area were busy. The property is 'worn' needs painting and a good cleanup. The only way to get a roll and coffee in the morning was to pay 20 euros for the buffet.

Nice hotel that offered a lot of unexpected extras, including a tennis court and open public spaces inside and out. Breakfast was excellent although a bit pricey. Location somewhat remote that required a car but equidistant to both St. Paul de Vence and Vence with roads that were easily negotiated. The staff was very friendly and helpful and spoke good English. Overall, the stay was well worth it.

Nice hotel but odd

The hotel is attempting to be over sophisticated. The room was very clean and comfortable but the lighting was unfathomable and the handbasins impossible to retain any water in due to an over fancy plug arrangement. The hotel staff were helpful and polite but our main issue is that we wanted to eat at the hotel restaurant. It was closed for an art event which we were told about only days before our departure. The recommendation for a local restaurant turned out to be a gem but at the considerable cost of a return taxi fare.

Tucked away in a forest-like setting not far from town, filled with art everywhere you look. Love the modern decor and balcony that looks out at the grounds. Staff was friendly and professional. Great value. We opted not to eat breakfast at the hotel. Somehow, couldn't see paying 20 euros for it. Would stay there again.

We had a great experience at the hotel, extremely friendly staff, super clean rooms and facilities. The place is very quiet, away from the crowd and busy streets but close to all distinctions. We obviously need a car, but we always rent a car when we travel
We would definitely stay at this hotel when we visit the area again

we liked the property except for the bees st this time of year we the children we find the feel very comfortable.
The property was very enjoyable unfortunately the restaurant menu wasn't our type of food.

Has Potential Here BUT

They missed the mark with my reservation. They put me in a room which was connected to a neighboring room by a door. Through the door, you could hear EVERYTHING the guests were doing, even when they blew their nose (which was way too often)! When they turned on their TV, it was like I was watching my own TV. When I alerted reception to the problem, they offered to move me to another room right off the main corridor which had probably the most foot traffic of any at the hotel, so I declined.

A/c did not blow cold enough either... I was often a lil hot in my room despite it being on 'high'.

However, the neighborhood was nice, as were the staff. Saint Paul de Vence is a charming village and a must see. Hotel grounds generally were nice, and if I had received a more quiet room, with stronger a/c, all likely would've been fine.

This is probably the first hotel I didn't have a good experience at, that I would admittedly try again. Something tells me if I gave them a second chance, they could deliver.

Resort hotel in country setting

This hotel is close to the medieval village of St. Paul de Vence but away from the bus loads of tourists. Walking distance from Fondation Maeght and a short drive to Vence. Beautiful setting with large pool and grass tennis court. Contemporary art is scattered throughout the hotel for a fun ambiance. Staff is wonderful, especially Vanina, Felipe and Krystelle. Perfect for romance or families! We hope we are lucky enough to have a return stay!

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during my roadtrip across the southern France. Wish I had stayed longer.

The room was excellent. Spacious, clean and modern.
The Jacuzzi/sauna/steam room area had the feeling of a boutique spa. My partner and I were the only people using it at the time.
Dinner is on the Michelin guide. (so is half the restaurants in Vence)
Breakfast was a bit of a let down, as it was mostly a French breakfast + eggs.

If you come to Nice and have a rental car...

This hotel offered more than I expected. If you are planing a trip to Nice and have a rental car, look no further. Granted this hotel is not in Nice, that's the whole point. It is in a forest, 25-30 minute drive from Nice. Take your time to relax, watch nature as it seamlessly blend with sky. I really liked this hotel. My stay was overall great. The only cons is that breakfast buffet could have been more generous, but it was ok.

Nice retreat away from the hustle of central Nice.

Let's get the key thing out the way. It's in the hills of Vence where there is a lovely cathedral and sculpture museum within a 15 minute radius by car. If you can, hire a car as the whole uber / taxi thing is lazy if you want to really appreciate the beauty of hidden gems in France. The appeal of the hotel is more of a spa retreat than a Luxury hotel as it has a jacuzzi, a lovely swimming pool and spa services that are reasonably priced. However don't let that discourage any families from going as there is a lot of greenery for young minds to play on. The restaurant is really good with lots of fine wines and cognacs on display all in a quiet surrounding away from main roads and aeroplanes. The receptionist Vanina was great providing extra amenities that were not present in our room and was very helpful in providing extra information if things to see in the area of Vence. A big thank you also to the manager Sophie for providing the baby cot for our son.

This resort is incredible. The staff is wonderful. The GPS took me to a house a kilometer away from it but the owner kindly pointed me to the place. Staff A+ and facilities were beyond imagination. Clean, parking, beautiful and AMAZING. 20 minutes to Nice driving but there is a train station close... I did not find it because the directions were not clear and the tourist information place in town is helpless... Other than that GREAT

Beautiful hotel... Will not hesitate to go back!

Our stay at this hotel was simply perfect!!! The staff was extremely courteous and always attentive to all of our needs. The lobby, bar and pool area are gorgeous with very modern decor. The drinks we ordered from the bar were done quick and to perfection. The breakfast is well worth the 18 euros!!! There's plenty of variety offered... Loved the scrambled eggs and sausages!!! The madeleines with nutella were a nice touch and the yogurts were delicious.
We received an upgrade upon arrival and our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and really comfortable. The bathroom had a rain shower and offered much needed toiletries. The spa is small in size but we were the only ones there at the time, so it was fine. I got a massage to relax my back because I do get pain at times and the great professionalism and knowledge of the masseuse was fantastic!
Parking is free and private; you can only access it using your room key card. The neighborhood is very quiet which makes the experience even more relaxing. Near the hotel you will find private houses and villas... once you drive a bit more on the main road, you see shops and places to eat. The best view is the one of the town of Saint Paul... Must visit if possible! Simply breathtaking!
The only downside is that wifi was only available in the lobby which is inconvenient, but I hope they change that eventually. Really loved staying here and will return without hesitation! Thank you all at La Vague!! You were magnificent!!!!

Nice area!

We stayed here at the beginning of June. We did not have breakfast or any other food here so can't comment. The village/town is relatively near (5-10 drive) though and there are many restaurants and cafes there. We used the outdoor pool and sauna which was nice. Staff were overall nice, except for 1 woman that when we said the A/C was leaking made it seem like it was our fault for not complaining sooner. But clearly this had been an ongoing issue since there were damp markings on the ceiling ans wall. Overall we enjoyed the hotel and recommend it.

Rural setting for an urban trip

Great location in a quiet corner of the Côte d'Azur, a fine spot to explore the region from. Thoroughly enjoyed our time while in the hotel, food quality was high, cleanliness was apparent throughout and the staff ensured a calm, relaxing atmosphere. The hotel has a very fine spa too.

I only wish that we had arrived earlier it was past sunset and it was very hard to find, there are numbers but they are not used as locations so the GPS had a hard time locating the Hotel - if it had not been so dark it might have made a difference. Only bad comment. They have a terrific staff wonderful place and the food was unique and very local. Terrific amenities and beautifully decorated outside and in.

Remote, relaxing, hotel.

Located between Vence and St.Paul in the hills of the Alpes this hotel is quiet and relaxed with excellent service. However, prices for food and drinks were high (particularly as a Canadian and converting to Euros). Two Cafe au Lait's ran $9 Euro's with top. The other problem was the wifi which was very flaky with the signal cutting in and out and slow speed. Overall a very nice hotel though I would recommend visitors have a car.

Given the amount I was charged for this hotel I think it was extremely good value for money. Lovely setting, clean bright rooms, and very helpful staff. Had tapas one night and it was very good. can walk down to St Paul de Vence if you want (we did-30 minutes) but walk back up hill in sun to be avoided or walking on that road in darkness. Good taxi service €20.

nice hotel hidden into the forest

-lovely location into the forest,not hard to find if you follow the signs or have a sat nav, a car though is a necessity otherwise you cannot reach the hotel
-relaxing environment and friendly, english speaking staff
-rooms are comfy and modern..signs of wear and tear are present though
-housekeeping is average, few things were missing almost daily from the bathroom like toiletries,towels etc..the reception staff was happy to provide everything that was missing- the balcony was dirty and it did not appear to have been cleaned at all during our stay
-the restaurant is very good ,we tried the tapas dinner menu and it was delicious , breakfast is overpriced..we stopped having breakfast in the hotel after the second day and tried a lovely bakery on the way to Nice

A welcome retreat after sightseeing

This quiet small hotel is just outside of Saint-Paul-de-Vence and is a touch difficult to find, but definitely worth the effort. Staff are pleasant, efficient and welcoming. The rooms are clean, and ours had a small balcony that overlooked the garden. We were unable to use the outdoor swimming pool (surrounded by trees and a garden), but would have enjoyed it if the weather had allowed. The fitness room was small, lacked ventilation, and had no weights.
My husband and I were traveling for a few days after a meeting in Nice. This hotel would be suitable to use as a base for day trips in and around the area.

Beautiful, serene location in the Alps. Hotel is surrounded by trees, wild flowers and birds.Very presentable,nice size rooms, immaculately clean and private. Romantic 3 night stay w/ emphasis on r&r. Some sightseeing to St. Paul de Vence. Lovely medieval village tho getting very touristy but architecture and views were great. Hotel very modern w/ decent gym, good jacuzzi/saunas, tennis court and lovely outdoor pool. Area close to Nice airport and pre-Alpes area behind hotel great for walks. Restaurant service at dinner very slooooow! Good breakfast.

The front desk staff was nice, our room was dirty

We only stayed one night and we got in late. I did use the gym which was small and I had trouble using my key so I had to go upstairs and they tried to fix it but it still didn't work and they made sure someone was there to let me in.The hotel could be very nice if they were to change out the carpet in the restaurant which was absolutely filthy. In our room the floor in the bathroom was dirty and one of the towels had a stain on it. The server in the restaurant was very nice and helpful.I would not stay there again. If they remodeled and cleaned it up I would try it again.

Quiet country resort close to Saint-Paul de Vence.

Very quiet resort hotel located in wooded area. Room was excellent with balcony. Large free outdoor parking with motorised gate for security. Large pool and grass tennis court. 1.4 km walk to beautiful medieval perched village of Saint-Paul de Vence. There is lots of parking around the village but go in morning to avoid the tour bus croud. We really enjoyed this hotel. Very relaxing.

Lovely hotel, well placed for St Paul de Vence

Very nice and clean hotel with excellent staff who were always extremely polite and friendly.
Evening meal was delicious and a reasonable price considering the location. Breakfast was a little limited in choice but good value at 15euros pp.

The location is a little out of St Paul but we walked into the village (20mins) and back up the hill again (30mins!) its not arduous and is a pleasant place to be when the weather is as great as it was during our stay. Also very well positioned if you want to visit the Maeght Foundation which is just 10-15mins walk on the way to the village and well worth spending a couple of hours (and 15euros pp) at if you are keen on Miro, Kandinsky et al

The rooms are well decorated and very clean. A nice contrast of contemporary style in contrast to the opulence of our last hotel in Versailles but non the lesser for that.

Great spot, I highly recommend it.

Good location, great facilities, pleasant hotel - The spa area seems brand new, very clean and welcoming. The outdoor dining area is pleasant and offers a nice view. The property is very secluded. Check out the artwork in the garden and main lobby.

Very nice hotel with fantastic staff

Overall this hotel is a great place to stay. The hotel room was nice and comfortable. A little work needed on the shower glass wall because water spilled out on to the floor. The pool and grounds were beautiful and relaxing. The hotel and restaurant staff were fantastic. There wasn't a need or request that wasn't taken care of immediately and always with a smile. The breakfast was a tad bit overpriced with little variety and the dinner we had was okay. Would definitely stay there again and it looked like a perfect place for a wedding!

Peace & Tranquility in a Lovely location

Managers & Staff were utterly charming & helpful, good english spoken, nothing was too much trouble. If it's peace and quiet you want, this is the place but not too far away from the bustle of Nice or the delightful villages of St. Paul de Vence & Vence where you'll find art galore. Gourmet cuisine. A very gentle and quiet retreat in the hills of the Cote D'Azur region. A variety of Art & sculpture dotted around was worth a fortune but lovely to be able to admire at leisure.

Fab Wave Hotel

Lovely hotel just outside of St Paul. The hotel's been open about 18 months, so lovely and fresh & new. The manager oversaw the refurb and is passionate about \"his\" hotel. The staff are very helpful - they will drop you off at St Paul & pick you up when you're ready; a late check out was very nicely arranged. Bus to Nice easy - about 1 hour & 1.50E each way. It's a really relaxing, away from it all place, with a great range of nationalities staying. My one tiny suggestion would be a light evening meal option(s).

great service in a lovely spot

This part of France is expensive so it nice to have a well priced, comfortable hotel with welcoming staff . The manager could not have been kinder and the civilised check out time of 12 noon was much appreciated. Food could be better....but a great comfortable quiet spot to stay near Vence

Modern, Clean and Full Service Hotel

The Vague de Saint Paul was a refreshing change from other hotels in France. The room design had been recently refurbished and was clean, modern, functional and spacious. Hotel staff were great as was the food. Plenty of amenities to take advantage of, also. The location of this hotel is away from town, adjacent to a large rural park. Totally quite, and relaxing setting as well. Would return again in a heart beat.

Nous avons l’habitude de venir tous les ans dans cet hôtel. Le restaurant est de grand qualité avec un chef aux petits soins. Les installations nécessitent un rafraîchissement (piscine, table/, chaises) ainsi que les installations sportives (tapis de course, boules de pétanque,…).

Lovely place, quiet and nice. Big plus for tennis court. Very interesting building, and great rooms. The staff is service minded, friendly and alert. We would definitely recommend this and be back for sure.
