We were very happy saying at this lovely little hotel. We just stayed one night but you cannot beat the convenience; it is sensitive situated right off the main square in downtown. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff, especially Douglas, were very polite and hospitable. The room rate was very affordable. Perfect location if you want to be in the middle or everything. Wonderful restaurants and boulangeries literally on the doorsteps of this hotel. Wonderful farmers market on the weekend and also music festivals in the park during the summer. Parking offsite isn’t bad either. There’s a lot within walking distance. The underground parking they suggest is a little scary if you have a bigger car. Not a fancy hotel, but if you want a clean place and to experience Vence, this is the place to stay. Reasonably priced for the location for sure! I would definitely stay here again.

For a small and affordable hotel, La Victoire is excellent for its price. The staff are helpful and kind and the rooms are decent for what you're going to pay. Furthermore, Vence is wonderful to explore for tourists and you can easily get to Nice with just one bus line.

I recently stayed at this place and had a mixed experience. Overall, the hotel was okay, but there were a few things worth mentioning.

Upon arrival, I had to carry my luggage up a flight of stairs to reach a certain level before I could use a small elevator, which was a bit inconvenient. The staff, however, were incredibly friendly and accommodating, which made the stay more pleasant.

One downside is that the hotel is somewhat far from the airport, the city, and the beach, so you’ll need to arrange transportation for getting around. The mattress in my room was quite hard and not very comfortable compared to other places I've stayed. The shower was also very small, with shower curtains that tended to stick to you, which was a bit annoying.

Despite these minor inconveniences, the warmth and hospitality of the city and its people made up for the less satisfying aspects of the hotel.

The friendliness of the staff and the overall atmosphere really helped to overshadow the small discomforts.

The facility does not match the description on the website. There is no shower, no hardwood floors, no minibar, and the photos do not reflect the real condition of the hotel. It is very old and the photos were taken years ago.
The rooms Are very dirty, stains On the walls, dirty sheets, very thin pillows, bathroom in very bad condition with many parts full Of rust. The TV is the size of a tablet. I have personal photos to upload if requested.
I never met anyone at the front desk as it was closed at all times except for 2 hours in the morning to sell breakfast.
Upon arrival check in was done at a bar outside the facility. No one was able to speak English besides French, Both in the hotel and AT the bar for THE check in, except for a Brazilian guy.
I'm sorry, but this is not hospitality and I think the third star was cancelled in the past YEARS for this very reason. I would call it a hostel.

Thé hôtel seemed fine at first we dropped off our bags then left for dinner. When we returned we really got to notice an air of cigarettes. There was only a sheet set and no blanket. The two pillows were very thin and well used. The shower head was a wand that wasn’t attached to the wall and there was only a half roll of toilet paper. We heard a baby crying from the room next door so not very soundproof. My wife’s eyes were irritated from the smoke. We didn’t ask for another room we just left.

The hotel and rooms are very simple with little to no amenities, the room doesn't even have a phone, however the staff is what make the stay worth while. They do all they can to help and assist and to me that makes up for anything that the room was lacking.

The hotel location is perfect at the entrance of town. It was very quaint and service was great. It can get a little loud of you leave the window open, which was nice for me because I wanted to hear the life of the town. With window closed it is no problem. It’s a great value hotel. Also, St.Paul de Vence is just a 5 bus ride away- really ideal.

The hotel is centrally located and a brilliant spot to explore Vence from. Watching the locals get their fresh bread and coffee in the morning was a joy. The owner who has just taken over the property along with all the staff were lovely. Those who struggle with steps need to factor in that there is a flight of stairs up to reception but it wasn't a big deal for us at all and the staff were more than happy to help anyway. Convenient parking just across the square.

Awesome place for Ironman climb!

We had flown in the day from the US and were really tired. The room was small but instead of being a bad thing, it was really cozy. The bed was phenomenal- we slept for close to 12 hours- and we NEVER come close to that!!

The location is great- right on the town square. Sunday morning there was a farmers market and a big bocce tournament. Great energy and experience!

Great place to get away from the big city. My husband is an Ironman and it was really easy for him to jump on the course and ride the big climb on the course.

Only small bummer was parking which was free if you could find it, but otherwise it was sorta pricey in the town’s parking lot.

Lovely Central Hotel in Vence

This was our second stay at Hotel La Victoire in Vence. We had previously stayed two years ago for one night before a return flight from Nice Cote D’Azur Airport, which is half and hour by car away from Vence. We liked Vence and the Hotel Victoire so much we decided we had to return, and we were not disappointed. The Hotel is located adjacent to the medieval citadel, and in close vacinity to many lovely restaurants. The Hotel overlooks a square, where there are market stalls, with an underground car park, so parking is easy and costs about 12 Euro a night.

The Hotel does and an express and a full breakfast. The full breakfast included bread, jam, croissants, ham, cheese, youghurt , boiled eggs, fruit , orange juice and as much coffee as you can drink.

The hotelier speaks perfect English and could not be more helpful and genuinely seems to enjoy welcoming guests to his hotel. Also if you are missing your dog when you are away the Hotel dog Hush will make an appearance. If you don’t like dogs you would not be aware Hush was there.

We would have no hesitation in recommending the Hotel Victoire and plan to return.

In the area for a wedding and this was the perfect base. Between towns in the region you need a car but once in Vence the hotel is right next to everything. Very pretty town with lots of sites to see, shopping, art galleries and restaurants.

Pleasant little hotel on the main square

Quiet, comfortable hotel next to a gate into the old town.
Nathalie and Emilie did their utmost to ensure we were comfortable, and provided all the local knowledge we required, Nathalie particularly running round like a mother hen!
The hotel is located within a few minutes walk of all the restaurants and little shops that this small provincial town of Vence has to offer.
Breakfast was optional and fairly basic.
Surprisingly, the hotel has some hard and fast rules about food and drinks in the room but puts the breakfast room at guests' disposal during the day.
One major drawback is the steep flight of stairs from the entrance to the first floor/ reception area..

Right choice in the Heart of Vence

The hotel is a budget one, so don't expect spaciousness, but the staff are very friendly and helpful. We felt relaxed here. There are numerous cafes/restaurants next to the hotel which is overlooking the main square where the medieval town meets the new. The area was quiet at night during our stay. Although there were no tea/coffee facilities in the room (no kettle) there is a hot water machine in the lobby which is free to access. This was a small inconvenience. It may help to know there are stairs up to Reception, but accommodation floors have a lift. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and thanks to the staff for the welcome we received.

Kind and compassionate

After a long journey by train and car from London, I was warmly welcomed. As the lift was temporarily out of order the reception insisted my bags were carried to the room, very clean, well provisioned fourth floor accommodation.
As a first time visitor to Vence staff were keen to help with information, explained parking arrangements and making recommendations of \"must see\" for such a short overnight stay. Breakfast was excellent in a small but very pleasant and bright corner room.
In the early hours I received news that my father had died. The reception staff was compassionate, and offered every facility to help me communicate with family offering use of phone and computer (my tablet was low on battery), and any other help in a considered but non-intrusive way.

My husband, son and I had 4 nights at the Hotel Victoire and loved our stay. The hotel is small but great, in a great location. Rooms were small but very comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. Windows has double glazing which kept out the noise from the marketplace across the road. Bathroom was small and the shower tiny, but we managed quite well. Continental breakfast was served only but it was high quality and enough for us. I can highly recommend hotel to anyone.

Fabulous staff and right in the heart Of Vence

We enjoyed our stay , especially it's great location. Waking up in the morning and buying fresh pastries from the market in the square opposite was a treat. It's one of the closest to the old town with great restaurants and bars.!we booked it last minute due to a change in our plans and I was a bit apprehensive as the cost was much lower than other hotels but it was a real find. Pierre couldn't have been any more welcoming and even provided car parking instructions before we got there.

Pros: The innkeeper is the friendliest French you'll ever meet! He comes down to the door and carries the luggage up for you, he explains and shows you everything with a smile on his face, he seems very passionate about his job. The room was big enough for our one night stay, the bathroom had a funky decor and I really liked that the both the main room and the bathroom had shelves to put things on in addition to the desk. The hotel is located right off the main street in a big square, so really easy to find if driving yourself. Also, Vence's underground parking is just on the other side of the square as well and the hotel has a deal with the parkade so parking is cheaper. The hotel is right outside of old town, so convenient location for touristing. Cons: The hallway is quite dated. Elevator is small. Couldn't find a convenience store near by.

We chose la Victoire because we wanted to be in the centre of Vence. We certainly were! We loved it. We went to nearby restaurants, the regular markets were right across the street, the tourist bureau was two doors away, the parking was nearby and subsidized by the hotel and although the service was rather liaisez. faire we really didn't require much. We have been to Vence before so knew what to expect. The rooms are small and the facilities minimal but suffice. Definitely not four star but for our 5 night stay, it was fine.

A fantastic little hotel run by a charming couple. Nathalie and Pierre were very welcoming and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. The hotel is right next to one of the gates to the old town where there are many great restaurants and bars. Vence is an ideally situated between the mountains and the sea. We hired a car so made lots of excursions into the mountains, you don't need to drive far to find magnificent scenery.

This is a delightful hotel and a very enjoyable place to stay. The crepes for breakfast are a definite must. Our room had a great view over the place d'Herbes - a quintessential French cafe scene. Access to the hotel by car is a bit scary, down very narrow lanes filed with pedestrians little inclined to make way, but once mastered is easy to find (pay) parking nearby. It is very convenient to cafes, shops and the Roman theatre. Orange itself is a good base to explore the Provencal countryside, and has a fairly extensive markets with local produce. Staff make the stay a pleasant experience. Overall, the hotel provided good value for money - far better than its star rating would indicate.

DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE

I chose this hotel based on reviews- they were great, and my experience didn't let me down. Pierre and Natalie are two of the warmest Hoteliers I have met. The cats are pretty dang friendly too (and I'm not a huge cat fan!). It is a small Hotel with all the drawbacks you must expect- small rooms, and bathrooms. But it has benefits you would not expect from a \"small hotel\", Very modern, chic decor, great climate control (even towel heaters in the bathroom- in winter, yipee), very modern technology like international TV channels and free wifi in your room.
Aside from that, you could not ask for a better location in Vence. My corner room looked out one window to Place du Grand Jardin, and out the other, to one of the gates to the Medieval city. Noise could be a hassle, being in such a central spot, but it is a quiet town that beds down early, and the double glazing works a treat! Didn't hear a thing! I spent 2 nights but would recommend longer- I zipped up for a night from Nice (having an apartment for 10 days there), stayed 2. If you have a car, this would be an ideal base for a week. Don't bother staying in Nice or Cannes, you can drive there in half an hour. Drive to the surrounding sites etc. No car (like me), maybe 2 or 3 days, catching buses around- jeez it only costs 1 euro to travel 10mins or 2 hours around the Côte d'Azur.
So all said, believe the reviews you read about this hotel, it is a gem!

This is the best kept secret in the area!

Large resort hospitality, while perfectly ok if you don't know better, is quite different from the sincere and cordial reception you receive in a small French hotel.The owners of La Victoire, Natalie and her husband,Pierre,could not have been more welcoming or accomodating. I would go out of my way to stay there again!

Ubicación estupenda así como el personal, muy amable y servicial, pero como hotel debería mejorar el baño y la limpieza. Al menos en nuestra habitación. Servicio de limpieza muy mejorable. Mala insonorización.

The hotel was located conveniently in the middle of Vence, and although it was sorrounded by restaurants and bars, the noise was not a problem. However beware that there is a flight of stairs with no elevator up to the first floor. The thing that really was disappointing was that the bed spread and pillows were dirty. It did made me not trust the overall cleaning.

Très bon emplacement dans le centre historique
Pas d’accueil car nous sommes arrivés à 18h
Aurait besoin d un rafraîchissement dans les salle de bains
Stricte minimum fourni
Mais pour un 2 étoiles très bien
Pour le prix je pense que nous payons l emplacement mais très bien . Dommage pas de parking de l hôtel mais à 2 pas payant

A friendly, small hotel in a great location in the lovely village of Vence. The air conditioning worked well. Breakfast is worth eating in the nearby bakeries and cafes. The village has fantastic, affordable food. The village/hotel is relatively easy to get to by train and bus.

J’ai apprécié l’hébergement mais je n’ai pas réussi à faire marcher la climatisation pour le chauffage. Un papier explicatif serait le bienvenu. Demi pension : la sauce de la blanquette manquait de consistance. En revanche, la soupe etait délicieuse.

Questo albergo unisce il vantaggio della posizione eccellente, centrale, e il prezzo tra i più economici della città. La stanza è nella media, ed il bagno hacil pregio di essere munita di bidet. Tuttavia sono rimasta sconcertatoa dal fatto che in 5 giorni non hanno mai fatto la pulizia. E le asciugamani sono state cambiate come da regola su mia richieste

Pas d'accueil, il faut passer par un restaurant à coté où je paie le petit déjeuner et la taxe de séjour.
Le lendemain on me dit que je n'ai pas payé, puis que ce n'était pas le bon prix et enfin impossible d'avoir une facture de ce que j'ai réglé. 30mn d'attente pour rien!
Hotel particulièrement bruyant, tant depuis les autres occupants que de la rue (merci les boules quies).
Un hotel veillissant, un petit déjeuner minimaliste.
Je ne recommande pas cet établissement

La struttura è datata, ma molto carina ed in una posizione strategica.
Quello che mi ha colpito in negativo è il costo esorbitante della colazione che è basic, ma che costa ben 14 euro testa al giorno. Peccato.
