We stayed there before and had enjoyed breakfast, but this time, I regretted paying for it in advance because it's totally overpriced for what was offered ($25pp per day). I would recommend buying own croissants at the bakery. There is also a supermarket nearby. We paid $25pp for the 3 days we stayed and there was not much offered on the buffet and the coffee was barely warm. We were also charged $16 for 2 small cans of nuts we took by mistake.

The service was great, the lady at the reception was very kind.
The jacuzzy, indoor swimming pool and hammam are beautifully located, at at the perfect temperature.
The rooms were renovated a few years ago, and are well designed. The bed was very comfortable for my sensitive back.
The whole place is surrounded by a forest, and feels cozy and natural

We didn't eat at the restaurant, and prferred tp have dinner in town.

Everything about this hotel is nice and a decent place to stay in the Vence area however felt a bit oversold by the pictures / overpriced and some of the service was a little confused/slow. Pool areas are a nice place to relax, rooms are a decent size, restaurant is fine just not quite as luxurious as the pictures make out.

Loved every minute of our stay.

the hotel grounds and views were breathtaking and gorgeous, the room was beautiful and comfortable, the staff was friendly and accommodating, the amenities were superb. The pools and spa area are top notch. We enjoyed every minute of our stay, in fact we left our day sightseeing in Nice early just to get back to the hotel because it was so lovely. a car is required for this hotel, but Vence is a 15 minute walk away if you want to make the trek on foot.

This was such a lovely hotel with a beautiful SPA, amazing view from the outside heated jacuzzi which we enjoyed very much, inside heated swimming pool was also lovely and clean too, friendly and helpful staff, a close walk to the old town of Vence. Absolutely lovely hotel and beautiful quiet property. We loved our Easter holiday here so much that when after 3 days here we moved to Cannes to another 5-star hotel we were still missing Cantermerle.

The hotel is very pleasant & romantic. It is well maintained & the staff is extremely friendly & helpful.
The breakfast buffet is very reach.
The pool & garden are very nice if the weather is right. This is actually the only negative side - in rainy days, the inside of the restaurant and the spa is less nice.
I have previously stayed in other hotel in Vence and its area and this was definitely the one I would come back to!!!!

Very relaxing!

Just spent 2 nights but would like to have spent much longer! Beautiful spot so close to Vence and away from the crowds in Nice. Lovely gardens and enjoyed the pools. A little spoilt by a noisy young family, in fact it would be best not to allow children under 12 as the place is really geared for maximum relaxation. We ate breakfast which was very good with a lot of choice and we enjoyed a lunch. I would definitely stay here again if ever I wanted to visit the Nice area.

Perfect Hotel for a complete rest

Absolutely lovel hotel in a very quiet location just outside Vence. Staff are the friendliest and most efficient I have ever met. Ideal for couples seeking a quiet few days alone. 10 minute walk into medieval Vence where there are lots of restaurants. Hotel restaurant and breakfast are also great. Kettle in the room but take your own favourite tea bags. Will definitely be going back.

This is a pleasant hotel with a beautiful pool area. Nice touch to provide 2 free cocktails, although would be nicer to have the choice of which cocktail you want rather than limited to house as they are all the same price. The spa is quite nice with a lap pool and steam room. Although the 'gym' is limited to 3 cardio machines. Grounds are immaculate. We made use of the boules court which was fun. Food is expensive. We did not have breakfast due to the price, and the options looked limited. Reception was often busy, and we had to wait on several occasions for staff to return or come off the phone. They could do with an extra staff member. One thing that would improve the hotel is to either make it adults only, or to restrict children's use of the spa area, as we arrived to find 2 boys repeatedly 'cannonballing' into the pool. There is limited facilities for children, so I wouldn't recommend for families.

It's a restaurant with rooms; not a hotel.

The hotel is totally focused on the restaurant, therefore getting attention from staff for a drink at poolside seating is difficult. The \"Bar\" they refer to is the waiters station with all the wine buckets rowed up, high chairs, pile of menus etc - stood for a least 5 mins before the 3 staff behind asked me if could help; you can't get to the bar to stand at so I just stood in middle of room whilst staff went to-fro. Rooms nice, spacious with good bathroom. Gym is very disappointing- 3 items of equipment in a small room does not make a fitness centre!

It was a lovely stay in a great room with a wonderful terrace. Unfortunately for us, we arrived late and left early, so we weren't able to take advantage of the hotel facilities in full.

However, the room provided a nice experience with happy memories.

Pleasant small hotel away from busy areas

Relaxing and pleasant small hotel in an relatively isolated location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We used the hotel as a base to explore around the Cote D'Azur.

You need a car for this hotel; it is about 13 minutes walk to the local town of Vence and public transport seems very limited in general.

The hotel restaurant is pretty good and had live music one night. It seemed to be busy most nights - not just with hotel guests. For some reason breakfast was a real disappointment. It is not up to the standard you would expect for price being charged.

The pools, gym etc were clean but small due to the overall size of the hotel but they were not crowded. There were plenty of sun loungers and ample towels available.

Overall we had a very pleasent stay.

It was a fantastic hotel, but I wish they had been up front about the price of the buffet. £57euros each!
Perhaps we should have asked?
If I'm being critical, the only other issue was having a bed so close to the door. Otherwise, Helpful staff and very clean.

Beautiful oasis in a great location

This hotel was absolutely lovely. The pool and garden were beautiful and the rooms were very spacious. The hotel staff were so nice and accommodating. The city of vence is a 10 min walk and is great place to walk around and have a meal. It is also centrally located and we had a car so we were able to do a bunch of half day excursions and nothing was more than an hour away - we went to Monaco, sanremo (Italy) and Cannes. Close to the airport as well.
Tips: if you are driving, make sure you have coins for the tolls. And bring/buy mosquito repellant - I got a few bites one night but it was quite humid.
Overall I would 100% recommend this hotel and I would stay there again. Great value for your money.

Well located. Helpful staff.

Stayed 3 nights on a business trip. Staff could not have been more helpful nor accommodating. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. The hotel is a pleasant walk into the town, located to the south close to the main road. 4 stars is about right.
The room was large and well maintained with a balcony surrounded by bamboo, so quite enclosed.
Pretty garden and terrace. Indoor pool and steam room well maintained.

An oasis of calm

Situated in Vence, about 20 mins from Nice, this superb hotel offers tranquility, beautiful gardens and scenery, excellent food, and is also a great location from which to explore the region. The nearby chapel designed by Henri Matisse is a must. Matisse and Chagall museums in Nice also essential viewing. The Côte D'Azur is so rich and seductive. Enjoy.

The compensation for the hotel's being maybe 15 minutes' walk from the centre of Vence are its extensive grounds, well-landscaped, thoughtfully planted and maintained, with a good-size pool, kept at a temperature just warm enough to plunge in without a shock but cool enough to swim, and overlooked by the delightful shaded terrace of the restaurant. The food is good, with prices at the level of the better places in town. The rooms are simple but comfortable and spotlessly clean, and having a duplex, which came with a patio secluded behind shrubs, worked very well for us (though if you take one, make sure you firmly lock the siding doors, and test that you have, when you go out or go to bed!) It's clear the manager has been careful and shrewd in his choices of people for his staff and trained them well. They couldn't be nicer, more helpful or engaging. Altogether, a really enjoyable place.

it was our first ever stay in the south of france and after streessful weeks behind us the hotel and its facilities were just amazing. we loved the different pool areas, the atmosphere, the friendly staff, etc. would definitely go back. also a nice place to stay for different trips to various cities and places around like antibes, nice, cannes, mobte carlo, st. paul de vence, etc. its niceto come back to a calm place.

We were very happy with our choice to stay at Hotel Cantemerle in July 2015. The pool and grounds of the hotel were very nice and relaxing - the whole vibe was very laid back and not a bit snotty. We only stayed for 2 nights, and ate at the hotel's restaurant the first night which was very good. Although they did not have an English menu, the server was able to translate each item for us as needed. It was clear that everyone who worked there wanted us to enjoy our stay and was happy to help with directions and advice on restaurants, etc. A very good bang for your buck!

Nice quiet location, but not quite a full Spa

This was a lovely setting away from the busy world, and just close enough to Vence to be able to walk into for lunch and dinner etc. A great choice of restaurants in Vence. The staff at Cantemerle were very friendly and helpful. it wasn't too busy, and was very quiet despite being a child friendly hotel.

The only disappointments were that for a 'spa' this place did not have a Sauna or a Jacuzzi. This was possibly my fault as I had been looking at many different hotels, and assumed this one would have them, calling themselves a spa!

Also the breakfast was very expensive, and no other option, other than a 15 min walk up the road to Vence! You were not allowed to take your own food and drink in the room, and there were no Tea or Coffee facilities. Half a bottle of champagne was 38 euros from the mini bar!

An oasis of calm with fabulous grounds

The hotel is fabulous - beautiful garden, nice outdoor pool, great outdoor seating areas for relaxing, breakfast or drinks. The room was comfortable with a large king bed, we had our own patio as well. We eat in the restaurant one night & in town the next. Food was very good, service was consistently good. Definitely would go back.

we wish we could have stayed longer to use the hoyel's amenities like the indoor and outdoor pools. Our room was big, clean. The bathroom had a beautiful tiled floor and was huge. Each room is a ground floor (no noisy neighbors upstairs) and has a private balcony. The staff was very professional and friendly. the only con : 16€ for the breakfast is overpriced given what is offered (we ordered room service). The hotel is a little outside of Vence downtown which makes its location very quiet like we love. if we come back in the neighborhood we will stay there again !

Liked the hotel. The suite bathroom is really nice with a jetted tub and coffee maker. We moved to a regular room after the first night which was somewhat disappointing considering we just stayed in the suite, but overall very nice. Breakfast was good, yet too expensive for 19E. And I was a bit disappointed that resort did not have any views of the sea. There are lots of similar options in the area that I would try again next time. Being close to the town is cool.

Pleasant Small Hotel in the HIlls

We had a charming double room with a balcony. The bathroom was spacious with nice fixtures and a great shower. The hotel is small and has a garden like atmosphere. The outdoor pool is unheated and there is a small indoor pool...warmer but not really warm. They had a nice hamam with a menthol aroma which was very enjoyable. The gym was disappointing. Of course, maybe I am the only one who goes to the gym on a weekend away. The Staff here is excellent, very attentive and tuned in. The hotel is walking distance to the old city of Vence. It is a drive to St. Paul-de-Vence. I would definitely stay here again. It is not the George V but neither is the price. You can park for free if you have a car. Internet is also free ( a must for me, since I hate to be nickeled and dimed with hidden costs) but you have to use a different pass codes if you have more than one device. Good value for the money. The restaurant had some hits and misses but overall good. Once again, the staff made for an overall enjoyable evening.

Lovely stay. It was about a half an hour drive from Cannes and Nice and an hour from Moncao at St Maxime which made it an ideal location from which to explore. It was a split level appartment style room - all at ground level. Just one concern in which at check in we had to sign a declaration to say we will use the safe and close the shutters to the rear patio while we were out. They were concerened about burglaries seeing as all appartments are on ground level and accessable from the grounds without going through reception. Never the less our stay was uneventfull, relaxing and peaceful. When in the indoor pool be sure to find the button to turn on the waterfall tap; great massage under there and remember to phone the reception 30 mins ahead of an intended use if the hammam steam room.

The hotel is perfectly laid out so that it is small yet the rooms seem far apart. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable ( and I have a bad back). The morning breakfast offered sliced breads, baguettes, ham, cheese, other cold meats, pastries, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, fruit salad and juices.eggs were also available on request and they even gave me decaf coffee (not always easy to get in France)! The pool was lovely, but we didn't have time to take advantage. I think having a car would be necessary to enjoy the surrounding towns.

Nice stay at Hotel Spa Deluxe Cantemerle

We stayed 2 nights after two weeks in the South of France. We choose this location because it is close to the Nice airport. This was not our first choice as another hotel we wanted to stay in was booked. The hotel was lovely and we were pleasantly surprised. We had a nice clean well appointed room with a larger bathroom than one of the four star hotels we stayed in. The outdoor pool area was large and plesant although the indoor pool was small. We walked into the town of Vence a 12 minute walk. I had a delicious buffet breakfast at the restaurant. We did not get to eat dinner in the restaurant as it was totally booked. I recommend you email the hotel and make a reservation after you book your room. The hotel is an excellent value and we met several people that return every year.

Hotel Cantermerle Vence - excellent facilities

The Hotel Cantermerle offers very comfortable duplex rooms so you have room to sit and relax and have a separate mezzanine bedroom. The pool and sunbathing area is excellent - real tranquility. It's a 15 minute uphill walk into the lovely ancient walled town, the walk can be a bit of a slog.
The breakfast is a bit expensive at 16 euros a day and there aren't any other alternatives nearby.

We stayed 5 nights at the Cantermerle in June. The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The room was clean, large and comfortable. The grounds and outdoor heated pool were especially nice. It was always pleasant returning to the hotel for a rest on a chaise by the pool after a day's worth of activities -- quiet and serene.

Hôtel vraiment splendide, avec un nombre limité de chambres qui garantit calme et intimité. Le spa est excellent, avec jacuzzi, hammam, douche chromatique, tout est très bien pensé pour la détente. Mention spéciale à l’espace piscine et ses transats confortables, parfaits pour se relaxer.

Tout le personnel est aux petits soins, toujours attentionné et souriant. Les chambres sont spacieuses, décorées avec goût, très propres et parfaitement entretenues. L’hôtel est situé dans un cadre verdoyant, entouré de pins et d’oliviers, idéal pour un séjour reposant.

Nous avons testé la soirée Brasero, un moment très agréable avec des produits de qualité, bien préparés. Le petit-déjeuner était parfait, avec des produits locaux, du jus de fruits frais, et beaucoup de choix. Enfin, nous avons également déjeuné sur place et nous avons adoré la salade César, la salade de poulpe et la panna cotta à la fraise.

Un établissement où confort, hygiène et qualité de service sont irréprochables. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir !

Très belle propriété avec vue sur la mer. Piscine et spas très bien entretenus.
Cependant le service était médiocre, voire inexistant. Nous avons passé 2 jours au bord de la piscine et pas une seule fois quelqu’un n’est venu nous demander si nous souhaitions boire ou manger quelque chose. Nous l’avons signalé à la réception le matin de notre deuxième jour et le service est resté inchangé (inexistant) le deuxième jour.

Le restaurant était fermé le jour de notre arrivée (lundi) sans que cela nous ait été notifié à l’avance par e-mail.
L’accueil à la réception laisse à désirer, on nous a expliqué que nous avions reçu un e-mail stipulant que le restaurant était fermé le lundi mais nous n’avons pas reçu cette information.

Une cliente de l’hôtel nous a fait part de son mécontentement pour les mêmes raisons: restaurant fermé + accueil peu professionnel à la réception.

Dans l’ensemble séjour décevant pour un hôtel/restaurant 4 étoiles qui n’a de 4 étoiles que les installations.
Le but de séjourner dans ce type d’établissement est d’avoir une expérience complète sur place avec les équipements, le service et le restaurant: marcher 20 minutes pour se restaurer, commander à manger à l’extérieur de l’hôtel ou attendre des heures que quelqu’un vienne prendre votre commande au bord de la piscine ne correspondent pas à l’expérience d’un hôtel de ce standing.

Großzügige, parkähnliche Anlage mit viel Platz. Ausreichend Liegen, schöne Pools und gutes Frühstück. Ausreichend Parkplätze. Sehr ruhige Umgebung. Der sehr schöne Ort Vence ist zu Fuß in 10-15 min. Erreichbar (1 km). Dort gibt es zahlreiche Essens- und Einkaufmöglichkeiten. Positiv im Hotel ist das sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Personal aufgefallen, dass die etwas in die Jahre gekommene Zimmerausstattung ausgleicht.
