We haven't been to Cherbourg for sometime, and we were pleasantly surprised at how much it has changed. I was not keen on Cherbourg in the past, but now it's clean and with great walking paths, liking the pedestrenisation, it's so nice, always lovely flowers and a very nice place for a stay over! We will be back and book again.The area has changed a lot!

This place was a pleasant surprise. We arrived a day earlier than expected and this was one of the few places still available. The service was exceptional, the room very comfortable and clean, and the breakfast delicious. The front desk even helped me with a translation issue while dealing with an auto rental agency.

Overall, our stay was good. The apartment was clean, spacious, and had a kitchen. The reception staff was very friendly and spoke great English which was appreciated. 4 minutes from the port so convenient location as well. Just be advised that parking for check in is limited (They do offer parking once checked in). Only real complaint was that it was a little noisy with neighbors and traffic.

Conveniently located hotel with very helpful and friendly staff however we were a little disappointed by the condition of the room, the futon / sofa bed was very uncomfortable (poor mattress) and the carpet was very stained and needed replacement. Breakfast was also a bit of a disappointment as the pastries were undercooked and the selection was poor given the price. Overall would stay again but it could be improved.

Great place to stay in the heart of the city. We booked our car into the safe carpark and were within easy walking distance od both a supermarket and the town centre. Lovely cafes and restaurants around too. The hotel was very comfortable abd staff cheery and helpful. Decent continental breakfast too

The staff at this hotel were incredibly helpful and kind. The hotel itself was very comfortable, a simple but clean place that had everything I needed. It’s close to museums and restaurants and bakeries and grocery stores. The whole town seemed very pedestrian-friendly. This was a cool little place across the street from the mall. This mall has a grocery store in it and thats how we saved a lot of money by buying food from them.
These rooms have kitchenettes in them and that made for a greater experience so you can cook for yourself from the grocery store across the street.
Upon check in, the clerk spoke English and was very polite, she even smiled and cracked a joke or two to us.
The room did not have Air Conditioning in them, but since it's close to the ocean, we just had ocean air coming in our room at night.
It was also within a 10 minute walking distance from the train station so that saved us taxi fare.
When we woke up in the morning, the staff ordered us a taxi and we were on our way safe and sound.
A great place that I recommend.

We have used this hotel many times. Always exactly as we need it. Only disappointment, is the building works right outside my window, which started at 6.45 am and went on until after dark. Having a motorised lifting platform going all day was starting to irritate. Only issue with the room was there was no way to boil water for hot drinks. Having to put a pan on the stove is a bit outdated. When we first came to this hotel, nearly 10 years ago, a coffee machine used to be provided. Sadly no longer. Staff are always friendly and helpful. We will return. Thank you.

Easily the nicest hotel Cherbourg might have in terms of cost, cleanliness, room space and amenities. Great staff who are very friendly and can help with problems encountered. Very spacious room with excellent flatscreen TV, kitchen and bathroom. Breakfast is additionally paid for but the quality is superb with plentiful varieties. Great windows with abundant sunlight. Will book again if return to Cherbourg.

Stay here on a regular basis. Perfect for my business trips to Cherbourg. Rooms are exactly what you need. No kids running down the corridors, and just far enough from the main town to be peaceful. Cleanliness is generally pretty good, although there was a smell of damp in the room, as it probably hasn’t been used for a while, and just needed airing. An hour with the window open cured that. On the whole, a great hotel, for a great price. My 6 monthly trips are always looked forward to.

Handy family ferry stop

Very lovely and accomodating staff. However, the sofa bed was very creaky and didn't well suit two adults. We ended up moving the mattress onto the floor which solved the issue. Apart from that the apartment very well suited are needs and was ideally located for a quick dinner out, a hop to the Aquarium and the ferry home the next day. We did find that our neighbours were rather noisy until late but can't really good the hotel responsible for this. I would stay again though.

High quality/price value

Though it is not perfect, this hotel is worth considering if you're visiting the area. My stay started on the negative side as I was placed in a room that hadn't been cleaned and transferred in another room that had electricity problems. The staff remained very nice and helpful throughout, though. Here are the pros and cons IMO. Pros : awesome location near the city center, the port, the train station and the bus station ; big grocery store in front of the hotel ; spacious room ; nice kitchen space with the minimaly needed tools being present to cook and make coffee (more than in other aparthotels I've been to) ; room very clean; nice shower ; well noise-isolated from indoor sounds. Cons : Not a fan of the double twin beds places as a double bed ; the area is a bit noisy because of mechanical work in the port echoing loudly: the rooms near the mall area are affected. You might want to consider this if you are a light sleeper! Overall, very good experience.

Staff were friendly and helpful and spoke good English. Rooms were basic with no air conditioning but reception gave us a fan which helped. The rooms were clean with towels, t towels and washing up liquids and sponge provided. No Kettle but there is a coffee machine. Also there was a hair dryer in the bathroom. Plenty of crockery, glasses and utensils.
In the lobby were maps of area, places of interest and takeaway food menus and discount coupon for the Grill which was the nearest restaurant which my kids loved as they gave out fidget spinners.

It was a very convenient place to stay close to the Brittany ferry terminal. Well lit rooms and everything was clean and new. Good to have a small kitchen area and fridge so we could self cater if we wanted to. Very convenient for large shopping complex opposite. There seemed to be plenty of free car parking spaces close by, but felt it was probably safer to pay a small amount for the hotel allocated car park area. We would definitely consider using the Appart'City again.

Spacious and comfortable motel at a great price!

I was amazed at the quality of the accommodation and I thoroughly appreciated the idea behind it, which is to mix the facilities of a self-catered apartment and a motel, whilst keeping the price very low. It was all that I could have hoped for for a couple of days away with a friend, though I cannot speak for business travellers. What I most liked was how spacious it was, as I did not feel at all claustrophobic and I slept extremely well.

More of a self-service apartment, and not quite a hotel. You get an access code as the reception is not always open. We had a double room at the front, which was remarkably quiet given that it is a main street, with a small fully equipped kitchen (with microwave and small dishwasher) and a shower room. The room was clean but the bed was very uncomfortable, being two singles pushed together which sagged in the middle. It is about a ten minute walk into town and there is plenty of street parking. Opposite Carrefour and a few shops. I didn't use the street parking, as I had seen a car with broken windows not too far away. You can pay a couple of extra euros per day to keep the car in a locked up garage around the corner, which can be accessed from inside the hotel.
We also paid a small fee for wifi, which worked until 18.00 and then went off. When I told the member of staff the following day, she refuted it and implied that it was me who couldn't work it. This was not the attitude I expected. She said she'd show me how to operate it (we were just about to check out), but my point was that it had been working but the signal had then disappeared. So, no refund nor apology.
The thermostat didn't work in the room, so we couldn't control the temperature. The channels on the TV are all in French.
Overall, for what you get and where you get it (location) I think this represents good value for money.

Booked this hotel on the day I stayed as I missed a ferry. They were very accommodating for my late checkin and upgraded my room. Room was clean, had mini kitchen and a small balcony. Hotel is right across from a big shopping complex and 2 min walk from McDonalds. Its about a 15 min walk to the old town. I would stay in this hotel again.

We stayed overnight and could not believe what a great hotel / apart this is. Clean and comfortable and very quiet. We had a twin room with a kitchenette which even had a mini dishwasher !! It was probably took us a little over 10 mins to walk into the town centre and back and that's with my over 75 mum with her new knee replacement. Only thing I would suggest is take a travel kettle if you like a brew in the morning because only coffee perculatore in the kitchen. Excellent value and would use again !!!!!

Fortunately, someone in the group of customers knew to call a hotel number, unknown to us, and someone came and opened the key box. Fresh & comfortable appartment

Decided to stay here the night before our channel crossing the next day.
Apartment was new and modern with everything you might need - except a kettle! (had to use saucepan instead, no big deal). Used their secure parking for the night (chargeable). Very close to Carre four in the shopping centre opposite. (After checking out of apartment)we drove our car into FREE ALL DAY PARKING there, shopped and loaded our car, then went off to find one of many lovely restaurants around the port.
A couple of criticisms: the 1st one with Hotels.com - nowhere on our paperwork did it mention booking into apartment before 8pm (evening). We had a long journey to Cherbourg and we only just made it with minutes to spare before reception closed for the night,so please be warned!
Secondly, don't waste 9 euros on their breakfast available. We were told it was a buffet selection, but there was very little selection and certainly nothing hot on offer. Should have planned ahead and purchased food that we could have cooked in the apartment...lesson learnt for next time!
Overall though, a very comfortable and spacious appartment, with towels, teatowel, washing up liquid and limited toiletries all included. WiFi is available to purchase at 2 euros per day.
We would stay there again and for 50 euros per night, very good value for money!

Excellent proximity to Gare Maritime and town.

It was a great base to explore Cherbourg, which turned out to be not as busy and built up as we had anticipated. We had decided to leave the car at home and wanted to see what we could do on foot. Cherbourg is very accessible and actually a car was unncessary. The restaurants were great around the quay area and there is a lovely park in town. We discovered that Carrefour had opened up some local small shops which were open on Sundays and stocked everything we needed over a bank holiday weekend. The trains run from Cherbourg to Paris and the journey takes about 3 hours. We only went as far as Bayeux which took an hour and is very well worth a visit.

We never got to stay - the \"hotel\" was locked - no front desk - no one there - no one to answer the phone - after numerous phone calls and phone trees someone answered in French and spoke ZERO english - we called Hotels.com and they were helpful but also could not reach this \"hotel\" - this is NOT a hotel and no one should ever stay here if there is ANY other choice, including sleeping in your car.
While I was looking over the building, which by the way has no sign to indicate this is the right place, my wife encountered some rather seedy, disreputable people hanging out side the windows

We have literally traveled the globe and NO WHERE, EVER have we encountered anything like this. This \"hotel\" is closer to a hostel or a transient facility or deportation lounge with even less service(s)

NO American or non French speaker should even consider this \"hotel\" as a choice - TRUST ME THIS IS ONE AWFUL EXPERIENCE

CHERBOURG OVERNIGHT

This is the first time we have stopped overnight in Cherbourg but we would definitely do so again. the premises were easy to find and were so convenient that, once we were there, we left our vehicle and walked. the room and facilities were excellent, the reception staff were so helpful and polite and we didn't have to struggle with our limited French as they spoke perfect English !

Nice hotel, central location with free parking

Great place to stay!!! It was affordable, central, quiet and very efficient to sign in. only caveat is you have to contact the hotel beforehand to obtain the door access code and the \"chest\" access code to get your keycard and room #.
Place was super clean and comfortable with tons of room and all very modern and functional.
It was a 10/10 experience for sure.

Simply the Best

The kitchenette is a real asset. With a Carrefour just across the road, preparing a meal \"at home\" is possible. My 4th stay. Upon arrival I go straight to the Carrefour and buy cafe moulo, orange juice, milk, bread and beer. Room has a large fridge and a dishwasher.

Great place!

Excellent. New place. Immaculate, Friendly, helpful staff. Good quiet location close to town, ports, shopping mall/restaurants. Please note you need to email oen week in advance for code to get in if arriving outside of reception desk hours but it all works well. Also note that there is no separate lounge in studio apartments but facilities are good. No hesitation in recommending this place.
