The temperature in the room was freezing like in the freezer (10°) considering that outside were 20° and raining. Nobody in the hotel couldn't/wanted to deal with the aircon to change the temperature to a warmer one. Kept saying somebody will deal with, but nothing. Rang the reception 3 times and my husband went there once.

You can't open the balcony door if you don't want to get suffocated by the neighbours who smoke in the balconies and all smoke is getting in your room. My question is: how can you make the difference between somebody smoking in the room or balcony when the balcony is half meter and a double window door is separating the balcony of the room. Once you open the balcony all the smoke is in the room, so sit in the room and open the balcony door!
The breakfast is very, very limited and €17. No vegetables, no beans, no many options of sweets apart from pastry and pancakes. Room carpet/room dated

Set beside the lake with marvellous views. The young team were all very efficient from the receptionist who greeted us to the restaurant team who served us a light dinner (we had lunch before arrival). Breakfast was also very good.

The hotel is in nice surroundings, the room was nice with lovely view and good bathroom, but the carpet in the room was dated and looked stained and dirty. There was no ironing facilities and no shower cups or shampoo. Not what you expected in four star hotel.
The food in the restaurant was very nice but expensive.
All experience was a very expensive hotel for what it was. Also be aware this hotel requires upfront payment and has no cancellation policy, the payment is being taking from your account immediately when you book the date on line.

Fantastic stop off on our way down through France

We stayed here on our way down to Switzerland and it was perfect so we stayed on our way back too.
Lovely rooms, great showers with strong water pressure and the view at Breakfast was beautiful.

We also took advantage of the Tesla destination charger whic was free for guests.

The position by the lake is really good, the food overall is good, the service of the staff leaves you thinkingthat they are doing you a big favour, that took the edge of the dinner experience. The room looking over the lake is a wonderful view but the rooms are tired. The swimming pool is old and if you like an early morning swim at 9.00 am then you will share the pool with last night’s mosquitoes

Well worth a visit.....

Lovely hotel in an idyllic spot. 20mins off the A26 and worth the detour. Hotel has plenty of facilities and lovely walks and bike rides from the hotel. Lots of historical interests for WW1 fans and Laon nearby. Hotel position couldn't be better on the lake, beds very comfortable and food (especially breakfast) excellent. This hotel is geared up for families, who have the option to access the local Centre Parcs. Those wanting a romantic weekend may need to take this into account. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return.

A faded chain hotel whose best days are behind them, not special and not 4 star. The location is very good but the food was distinctly average, both our main dishes were different but both had the same alarmingly orange coloured source. The staff seemed to be working there under sufferance, we didn't feel welcome. We won't repeat as a stop off hotel.

Our stay was very good. Location was fantastic. All clean and staff helpful. However we booked a long time ago for a room with a lake view - it was facing the lake but the lake views were badly interrupted by large trees. We did ask straight away to be changed for a room with uninterrupted views but we were told it was not possible. We booked for 7 days, some guests were only booked in for 1 or 2 nights and were given the rooms with the best views thus taking priority - Why?

Second stay at the hotel on way back from Alps.

It’s a good hotel, conveniently positioned about 2.5-3.0 hours from Calais.

Most staff (reception, bar) were very good, but side let down by one restaurant waitress at dinner who either took a dislike to us or English in general and was surly from start to finish, giving the impression that she’d sooner be somewhere (anywhere?) else. A real shame as all the other staff we interacted with were charming and efficient.

The basin in the bathroom was dirty - it looked like make-up/foundation marks around the taps. The teapots at breakfast were dirty inside - lots of tannin stains. The bread for breakfast was laid out separately slice by slice, so it was all going stale.

The downstairs of the hotel is really nice with a restaurant that looks out over the lake. The rooms upstairs are a bit tired. Overall we found it quite expensive for what it was- especially considering breakfast was an additional 15 Euro and there really is nowhere else nearby to eat. The food was good however and the hotel arranged centre parks tickets.

We stayed here for one night whilst passing through on our drive down through France and it was a very pleasant short stay. The room was big with a lovely vista of the lake. The evening meal and breakfast were fine and as expected. Some of the fixtures and fittings were a little tired but everything looked clean.

You can't choose your fellow guests......

Our room was ok, but there was a big gap, as if a chair or sofa was missing. When sitting on the balcony, we couldn't see the lake as, on the first floor, the very narrow balconies are in the roof and the wall was over one metre high. So lake view is only actually available when standing.
The room was very hot and it is not possible to turn heat up or down room by room. This was although the temp was only c20 outside and very little sun. This is clearly a common problem as a (very noisy) fan arrived very quickly.
However, the greatest issue was a noisy group of 8 golfers in the dining room who were drunk, or close, and very loud. They disrupted most of the guests, incl family groups. The staff were unwilling to ask them to be quieter and we and others left asap after our main courses. When we complained, and suggested the manager be asked to speak to them, we were told there was no duty manager on shift (no 'responsable') and therefore nothing could be done. Food was very average anyway so we didn't stay for breakfast and won't be returning. Shame, as it is a convenient location and the setting is lovely.
Wifi didn't work well enough to be able to use the internet although it picked up messages.

My room was rather tired, but functional with a comfortable double bed.

The restaurant was well run and the food was good. Not exceptional or incredible, but fine.

I didn't have a chance to hit the golf course, but the vibes were positive.

Great hotel in lovely situation. We were upgraded to a suite with balcony which was lovely to wake up to the sun rising over the lake in the morning. Food in the restaurant was excellent, good choice and wonderful presentation. For the quality of food the price is very reasonable. Knowing nothing about the area we choose this hotel for it's proximity to eurotunnel. We discovered however a fantastic history of the area and will definitely be back to spend more time in what is a great hotel in a fascinating area.

A very nice stay . Comfortable room and a wonderful view. Unfortunately you needed to pay extra for air conditioning and book a different room, which was not indicated at time of booking and as it was 35degrees at the time of our stay this was an issue.
Food in the restaurant was lovely.
Our friends got charged for breakfast even though they did say on checking in that they did not require one. This was rectified after being pointed out by myself.
A lovely cocktail to end the day .

I would book this hotel again

We were driving back to Calais from southern Italy and this was the last hotel we booked to give us most of the day off from driving. Nice hotel and and friendly staff, just a couple of hours from Calais. We were travelling with our 2 dogs and the room was large and comfortable. Having unpacked it was around 12.30pm but we didn't want lunch, we fancied coffee and cake but we could only get coffee in the bar. We returned from a walk around 2.10pm but room service is only available until 2pm or during the evening dinner period, so we had to get in the car and go to the supermarket on the way to Laon and buy a picnic. This was the only short coming. The food in the restaurant that evening was good and check out the next morning was very fast and efficient.

This was only an over night stay, but we arrived late, were treated very well on arrival, and had an excellent dinner in the restaurant. We had a good nights sleep and a good breakfast an left shortly after breakfast for a long drive to Germany. I would definitely consider staying there again, especially in the summer, but the price would have to be right.

Modern hotel with good staff and an excellent chef

Not just a Golf' hotel, this is an excellent place for a night or two on the way somewhere else. Near enough to a Motorway junction, a lot of parking space and in a nice location by a man-made lake. All rooms with lake view - upper rooms more than ground floor.
Properly equipped rooms - good beds, clean modern bathrooms, tea/coffee tray, mini-bar, room safe and satellite TV with UK news channel, free wi-fi in the rooms.
Not an old-fashioned French 'Chateau' with shabby chic, nor a cheap motel, this is a purpose built hotel providing all the essentials for a comfortable stay.
Perhaps unsually for France, the Staff are friendly, helpful, well trained and would be a credit to any hotel at any level.The 3-star rating here is more than deserved.
The restaurant is also well up to standard, dishes are well presented and properly cooked, modern French menu and very good value for money. We didn't have breakfast, so no info on that.

This hotel has everything going for it - a beautiful location next to a lake - reception areas very good, staff very efficient and professional. BUT - our stay was spoilt because our room smelt very musty, the bed valance was stained and the bath / toilet and bathroom really need to be updated to 2014 standards. The price for drinks at the bar are ridiculously high and the standard of food in the lovely restaurant really needs improving - a bottle of the cheapest wine is 28 euros and the menu is expensive for the quality of food. Our overnight stay cost us 221 euros, which is ridiculous.

Restaurant staff unsuited to the job - \"we are very busy\" either means they were badly organised or understaffed because the tables were far from fully occupied. They ran about like headless chickens making for a very restless restaurant atmosphere - contrasted with a placid lake view. The room had a badly stained carpet which looked disgusting. When these shortcomings were mentioned with a request that they be passed on to the manager, shoulders were shrugged.

Idyllic place situated near the medieval town of Laon. Hotel's location is on a lake and there is an air of peace and tranquility and no hurry which we liked very much.

Most bedrooms are of a good size and have balconies which face the lake. Service is good and staff are friendly. Golf course is attached if you wish.

Breakfast buffet was simply the best spread we have enjoyed for many a long time in any 'star' of hotel.

We would love to return for the peaceful scenery and the superb views across the lake.

Stayed for one night and had a fantastic experience - the hotel is situated in a lovely location and the room was very comfortable. The staff were exceptionally friendly and provided the best service we have experienced in France. What really stood out was the food in the restaurant - outstanding quality for unbelievable value. The cocktails were also delicious! Would definitely stay and eat there again.

Within easy distance of Calais

It was excellent. We were travelling with 2 small dogs and there was plenty of nice areas to walk and our room was very convenient for going out for walks. We had a lovely view of the lake from our bedroom balcony and dinner - both quality and service - was excellent. We travelled to Calais the next day and it was easy to get back to motorways

Good hotel for the price

We have been using this hotel for several years and find it well located and comfortable. On our most recent stay when we arrived the hot water was lukewarm in the shower, which I reported. The following morning there was plenty of hot water. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Comfortable hotel, great location, excellent food.

The hotel was very well presented, in a lovely location overlooking a beautiful lake. The small swimming pool was very relaxing, although there were not sufficient sun beds. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. We had a very enjoyable 1 night stay and would be very happy to return.

Very nice hotel & helpful staff

Staff were all very friendly and helpful both on arrival and departure. Hotel was well kept with very nice rooms that were all modern and comfortable. Location was excellent on the banks of the lake, and would happily visit again to stay longer and explore the local area. We had a family room which was a decent size and great views over the lake and a balcony.
