The Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Property was well maintained and clean. From my check in upon checkout everything was good. I had a spa day, my masseuse ( Necorian) was great, I felt very relaxed and comfortable with her. The front desk staff, security and all staff were helpful, I even extended my stay an extra day just to do activities on the island. Overall great experience at this resort and on the island. 10/10

The property was clean and well maintained. Staff is very accommodating. However, they were redoing the resort, so half of the resort was closed off. So, restaurants to attend were limited. Room service can improve because when it arrived at your door, it was always cold and they had no microwaves.

The rooms were clean, house keeping was phenomenal, staff personnel all over the resort were helpful.

The only con that I have w/ the resort compared to other resorts I have stayed in other countries, the drink were not strong! The drinks at the bar tasted like absolutely juice.

They did not advertise on the resort that they were doing construction half of the amenities and restaurants were closed, including the pools and lazy river. The room service is horrible. It took over an hour and a half halftime you would call and get the busy signal you couldn’t even get through the menu was very limited. The staff was amazing. However, the staff in the entertainment should all be given gratitude for making up for all the other issues on the property and it’s such a big property that they don’t even care about one individual the spa was in hotel room so that wasn’t even a spa available

Property needed more time for updates perhaps after the hurricane? My room had decorative pillow cases on the bed which smelt dirty. We also smelt a somewhat moldy sewage smell with the air-conditioning. We also saw evidence of mold in the ceiling, paint droppings on the bath tub and counters. We had a view to a dumping area. We asked for an upgrade and was told we could only get 1 of our 2 rooms upgraded. The hotel was not at full capacity. Least but not last, one of our luggage was sent off with a van taking guests for a Canadian flight! We had our own transportation to get a Delta flight. We luckily demanded to have a manager retrieve our luggage. This was a horrible experience overall.

This property is beautiful but it is old. The rooms are nice but dated and the bathrooms were pretty dirty. The mirrors were chipped and everything looked like it just hadn't been cleaned. The iron was so dirty it leaked black mystery stuff all over my dress one evening. The wait for room service can be 45- 90 minute wait. One evening they got the room number wrong and we waited 3hrs for food. They don't change your sheets when they clean the rooms they just remake the bed even if the sheets are dirty and like everything else they were. The best part of this stay was my dinner at Picsso. Now that was amazing from the food to the servers. Lots of entertainment during the day and most evenings and the staff are great but not as willing to help as other all inclusives I have stayed at. Someone spilled a drink on the stairs leading to my room and they sat a caution sign out but never cleaned the spill...and this was all day.

We had an amazing stay at Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Escape and truly loved almost everything about this resort. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was relaxing, beautiful, and well thought out.

The food was excellent with a great variety of options, and every meal felt like a quality dining experience. The attention to detail across the property really stood out—from the landscaping to the service, everything felt intentional and elevated.

The staff was welcoming, attentive, and made the experience even more enjoyable.

The entertainment, amenities, and overall vibe made it easy to unwind while still having plenty to do. It’s definitely a place we would return to.

The only minor downsides were in the room: the bathtub had some rust, and the fan could have used a more thorough cleaning. These weren’t major issues, but worth noting for improvement.

Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and we would highly recommend Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Escape to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

Bahia Principe Runaway Bay is beautiful upon first glance. You get greeted and everyone is so helpful. My advice? Don’t stay past the weekend, they only care for your first 3 days. We were there for 9 days and only received true service on the weekends.

We requested a wake up call for one of our excursions. I requested it through the app, on the phone with concierge, and at the front desk. Did we get a wake up call? Nope. What was their answer when told this…”Well what would you like us to do?” And “Did you not call concierge?”

We went on that excursion and did not come back to the room for 12 hours. When we returned our room hadn’t been cleaned. I called concierge and they said that was unusual. Then the cleaning lady comes and says “Oh yeah, I told them not to clean your room.” Why??? Then asks “What would you like done?” Uhm… the room cleaned??

Forget trying to actually use the app or call concierge during the week. The app won’t work and they won’t answer.

There were a few bright spots in this entire stay that deserve to be mentioned; Marcella (Spa) , Takieya (Guest Experience), Raheem (Bartender), Michado (Bartender), and last but not least TORI ANN (Entertainment). All of these people made it so we were actually willing to stay here our whole stay. Tori Ann alone made our whole trip feel like we were home. She was so kind and accepting and went out of her way to just be nice and pleasant to us. The stay would have probably been 1 star if not less without them.

My stay at Bahia was a great experience. This was my second time there and I loved it. The food at the buffet was not as great as before but the restaurants gave the best service. The pool activities were involving and fun. The beach party was incredible. I will definitely go back.

The staff is good, food is good, I even felt nauseous and was offered tea etc. The only issue I had was entertainment, didn't spot any clubs etc but overall 4/5 rating. Would definitely come back, the room & jacuzzi was my favorite part:).

This resort is truly top-tier! I came to Jamaica to celebrate my birthday, and from the moment we arrived until the day we left, everything was amazing. The property was beautiful, very clean, and the staff made my birthday celebration feel extra special. I absolutely loved my experience here.

One tip: make sure to reserve the restaurants in advance, or you’ll mainly have the buffet as your dining option. Overall, I had an incredible time and will definitely be returning — hopefully before the end of the year!

I recently stayed at this hotel for four days. The facility itself was beautiful, clean, and comfortable, and the staff members were friendly and professional. Unfortunately, my stay was negatively impacted by a bathroom issue that was never resolved.
From the first day, the shower drain was not working properly. The water would not recede after showering and would remain standing in the shower for an extended period of time. I reported the issue immediately and made numerous complaints throughout my stay. I even showed staff videos of the problem so they could clearly see what was happening.
Despite my repeated complaints and providing video evidence, the issue was never fixed. For my entire four-day stay, I had to deal with standing water in the shower, which was both unpleasant and unacceptable. As a paying guest, I expected a functioning bathroom and a timely response to a maintenance issue of this nature.
What was most disappointing was the lack of follow-up. No one explained why the problem was not resolved, and no one from management reached out to discuss the issue or offer any form of resolution, even after I checked out.
I understand that maintenance problems can happen, but when a guest reports the same issue multiple times over several days and provides proof of the problem, it should be addressed promptly. While I appreciated the facility and the courtesy of the staff, management's failure to resolve this issue left me very disappointed.

Jamaica, no matter what resort, is so peaceful that it would be VERY hard to ruin your stay. One Love.

Overall, the resort is nice, fun and safe. Staff super nice and helpful. The room was a little outdated. The TV fell off the wall during our stay and had to call maintenance. Scheduled a private birthday dinner that included a private chef. The chef was scheduled to meet us up at our room at 6:25 to escort us. Waited 20 minutes with a no show. Went down to the service desk to make sure it was canceled ($150) and they were giving us the run around until I told them we were not in the mood anymore and frustrated. Shows in theater were pretty good but super loud. Beach area is more of lagoon with some turquoise water. Restaurants were only opened during the weekend during our stay and not during the week. Same buffet food each day of the week. I would give this resort a 7 out of 10.

We enjoyed our stay. And do recommend this resort. However, we were not happy that the pool closes at 7. At times, we were quite bored. The entertainment staff was great. Lady T and Chocolate have so much energy!!! But there were times when nothing was happening. You can’t walk to anything. Taxi to Ocho Rios was $120 No restaurants close except those inside the resort. Reservations were MANDATORY for dinner but when we went to eat, more than half the tables were empty. So, why put me on a schedule on my vacation? Our room was street view. VERY NOISY all hours of the night I’m glad we came and we had fun but probably won’t be back to Jamaica.

We enjoyed our stay. Check in was delayed and we didn’t get into our room until around 5pm. We didn’t get a great room but they made it right after we went back down to them to ask for a different room. They were in the middle of renovations still but we had enough of what we needed. Beautiful property, plenty of space and always able to get a seat by the pool. Food was pretty good at most of the restaurants. The beach was just ok. Water was clear but there were only a few spots with no grass and just sand. So if you’re expecting a swimming beach, this is not it. My husband enjoyed snorkeling though!

I really enjoyed my stay at Bahia. If it had better live entertainment nightly I would consider vacationing there again. The fact that there isn't much of a beach means they really need to step up the entertainment for me. However, I must say the views from my oceanfront room were stunning. This resort was too upscale for the poor entertainment they offered. The entire staff was great from the front desk, to the bartenders, housekeeping, and room service. Please consider some great live bands, comedians, or something more lively that can get the overall experience to a 10.

I traveled solo to Bahia Principe for my 35th birthday and had a blast! The people, the food, the drinks and the room all met/exceeded my expectations for sure.

Staff: They were some of the kindest, most empathetic people I’ve ever met. SPICY D saw that I had everything I needed. MARCELLA checked on me and a group I met and made sure that we were taken care of while lounging in the common areas. CORINNE was one of the grill chefs and had the sweetest demeanor. TRAVIS is one of the most intelligent and articulate people ever with great conversation and humor. LADY T, was a staple of this trip for me. She made Bahia feel like home! BIANCA was also very sweet! CRAZY LEGS brought us so much joy with his great sense of humor and hospitality. RAMEESH took great professional pics of me!
Amenities: I love how easy it was to book an excursion or a spa service. I booked a phenomenal massage and it put me right to sleep. I couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing environment.
Food: The food was delicious, fresh and always seasoned. They had an array of wines and hot drinks. They even had honey for my tea. The food trays were constantly being changed out and I ate so well.
Room: My room was upgraded and I was so thankful for the view and the spaciousness. I had some toilet issues but maintenance fixed it immediately with Spicy D’s assistance. The bathroom jacuzzi could’ve been cleaned out a little better, but I made do.

I will be returning to this beautiful place very soon. <3

I had made an error at time of booking due to a really incomplete and confusing listing for this property on Orbitz that had a min age requirement for 18 years old. This in my opinion was not clearly noted on the Orbitz website and I had made a booking here for myself and my 16 year old daughter. After we had checked in for about 3 hours, the hotel manager informed me that we would have to leave the resort due to my daughter being under 18. As it was already late in the evening and we obviously had no alternate lodging set, I felt the staff was very callous in having us depart with really no sincere effort to assist us. We ended up having to find a place almost an hour away and it made for a very stressful evening. The resort did offer to pay for taxi to the location but I felt they could have done more to assist or allow us to stay the night and find alternate lodging in the morning. Hotel management and service were very poor and really uncaring at this location. Even prior to us being removed from the property, I felt the staff was not professional or courteous.

It's a great resort. lovely lobby area. My room was amazing with a jacuzzi and great view from the balcony. Meals were all top notch with amazing choices everyday. Especially the Jamaican dishes. My only complaint is that when my cellphone wasn't working it was difficult to get a call out from my room or even find a courtesy phone in the lobby. Then when I asked for a wake-up call for my departure date, it never came. Good thing I was up before anyway.

Bahia Escape at Runaway Bay is a great resort. It’s still in the process of fully opening. However, it didn’t impact our great time. The staff are so helpful, friendly, and professional. One Pot of Rice, Uton, the pool bar staff, Daren, and just everyone. We didn’t meet any staff that was not stellar. One ala cart restaurant is open each night. They have three open right now. All three were wonderful with the Indian or Brazilian being tops. The buffets were standard but good. Jamaican night in Jazmine's are the best food I had. The grounds are well kept, the housekeeping was on point, and the front of house was amazing. I have no complaints!

When we booked our trip 6 restaurants were listed on the website. When we arrived only 3 were open due to property being remodeled. We wouldn’t have booked if known in advance. The property had many pool lights hanging in the water and multiple locations with exposed wires near pool area. Staff was fantastic but hotel is in bad shape.

Very disappointing experience.

Before arriving, I called the hotel to explain that I needed to add one extra guest to my room. The staff confirmed over the phone that this would be fine. However, when I arrived, I was told I had to pay an additional charge that was never clearly explained beforehand. This felt misleading and unprofessional.

To make matters worse, a large part of the hotel was closed for maintenance and renovations. We were unable to enjoy many of the facilities and entertainment options that were advertised when we booked. Had we known this in advance, we would have chosen a different hotel.

The cleanliness was below expectations, room service had very limited food options, and food delivery regularly took more than an hour.

The most concerning issue was that a staff member entered our room without proper notice or permission, which was a serious violation of privacy.

Overall, we paid for a full resort experience but received far less than what was promised. Between the unexpected charges, restricted facilities, poor service, cleanliness issues, and privacy concerns, this was one of the most disappointing hotel stays we have experienced.

I would not recommend this hotel unless these issues are addressed.

The food is excellent, idk, I've heard mixed reviews about this place, since the revamp after the hurricane, it is back with a vengeance! The price point, the staff how clean the property was is remarkable. If you guys added a proper burger/ jerk hut, it would be perfect. My experience, 9.5. I am impressed. We will be back for sure. Give this hotel a look, it's so good.

The property looks very nice on the surface, but there were things that threw me off. Bathroom (tiolet) upon arrival was not clean. And most light switches do absolutely nothing. AC ran but not very cool, was hot most night. The food at a few restaurants was supposed to be first class, I actually found better food at the 2 buffets. Most of the staff were pleasant, there were a few that let's say you could tell they hate their job.

Make use of the kayaks and tours on the property. Book your restaurants when you get there. Food was great. The hotel is half under construction which was no bother at all. The section that was closed is the grande. Luxury side is open and fully functional. I enjoyed my stay. A little expensive from Montego Bay airport for cab (100) so book amstar bus. (50). Every employee there was super helpful. They will accommodate whatever you need and help you go wherever you want to. Cabs waiting on site to help you immediately go anywhere.

The staff is very friendly. We had a great time. The only thing they need to improve is the food. The bufet selection was very poor. Food was not tasty. Very limited amount of Jamaican dishes. Fresh fruits were very limited and hardly any selection. The resort is beautiful. I can’t stress enough how friendly the staff was. They just need to improve the food. The specialty restaurants were very good. The Indian restaurant was excellent. The resort cleanliness was excellent.

The hospitality was top notch. Room was clean with an amazing view of the pool and ocean. The beach was amazing! Bartender Rashawn was also amazing and hooked us up all trip!

The room was spotless, and oh my God — the staff was absolutely fanfabulous! Everyone was incredibly friendly, and I was genuinely impressed by the youths working there. Their English was impeccable, and their vocabulary was surprisingly vast and polished.

The bartenders were excellent, warm, and welcoming, which really added to the overall experience. The food was good, although I do wish there had been a bit more variety, especially at lunchtime, as eating the same dishes every day became a little monotonous.

That being said, the kindness and professionalism of the employees completely made up for it. Their hospitality was outstanding, and for that reason alone, I would still happily rate this place a 10/10.

Shoutout to the entertainers Crazy Legs, Lady T and DJ. Spicy D you will forever be in my thoughts. You were too kind to us.
