Not time please make sure things in the room work, turn the refrigerator up so we can have cold drinks instead of call for ice, and tourist people want to eat the true, authentic jamaican food, not american jamaican food.We come to jamaica to eat the true authentic food.No one should have to go on the road to get real jamaican food.It should be served at every.Resort that's in jamaica.

Not one single hotel employee knew the wifi password. It was awful! How do the employees who work there everyday not know that answer? Very bad.

Perhaps I have been spoiled at other all-inclusive resorts but this place didn’t have good seafood options! Really it lacked variety from breakfast to lunch and lunch to dinner.

I paid $300 to upgrade our room and it didn’t feel that fancy!

My family is from Jamaica and while we were there visiting one of my family members got into an accident as they were bringing us back to thee resort after dinner in Montego Bay… the car was drivable but it was late at night…I wanted my aunt to be comfortable. So I got her a room at the same hotel. I checked her in around 1130pm Monday and checked out was Tuesday 11am. They charged me $576 for that room. The closest hotel was Riu and it was too far to drive. I know they swindled me bad. The room was not worth $576.

I have another trip booked for my daughter’s 30th birthday at this hotel in July!!! I wish I could cancel it! I think you can get a better hotel for the money! I know you can.

My family and I also had plans to visit in November for Thanksgiving booking 12 rooms total; I axed those plans the moment I checked out and we’ve now chosen a different hotel!

The food and the employees lack of knowledge and the remote proximity to other cities makes this resort a 3 star max for me!

If you are thinking about booking this hotel I would encourage you to explore options 1st

I recently stayed at Bahia Principe Escape, and I have to say the experience was absolutely amazing. From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations.
The Guest Experience Manager, Shane Haslam, truly stands out. He knows exactly how to make guests feel valued and satisfied. He is always smiling, consistently checks in to see how you’re doing, and no matter the question, he always has a solution. That kind of leadership really shows—his team works well together, and the respect among them is clear.
From Daveen at check-in, to Devon Davidson who escorted us, and Shane personally attending to our needs, the service was exceptional across the board. The bar service, overall hospitality, and attention to detail made the entire stay phenomenal.
I highly recommend giving them the opportunity—go experience it for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.

Everything seems like a sale in an all inclusive resort where we thought everything was included. We weren’t aware of anything. The staff appears overworked and tired. The Good: Most of the staff was helpful and friendly. The reception staff was welcoming and a pleasure to deal with. The greeters who welcomed you for breakfast and at Jasmines were also pleasant. I can't say enough good things about Crazy Legs and Pot of Rice in the entertainment staff :). These people went above and beyond to make sure everyone was having a good time. I wish I got the names or the restaurant staff so that I could give them a proper shoutout.

The Bad: The food just wasn't that good. I chose to go to the Bahia in Jamaica Runaway Bay because the food was so good at the DR location, I thought I would get a good meal here. I did not. There wasn't a large variety, and the food was either at room temperature or cold. Also, most of the people cooking the food acted like you were bothering them. They barely acknowledged your existence when you asked them a question and were not as warm and friendly as the other restaurant staff.

The Ugly: My room was dated.... particularly the bathroom. At first, I thought it wasn't cleaned properly. Then I realized that there was this mold looking substance on both faucets that couldn't be cleaned. I wiped it down with my Lysol wipes and prayed for the best. At the very least, they should remodel the bathrooms. I did not feel good about taking care of my basic hygiene in there and did my best to spend as little time in there as possible. Bahia should do better!

My husband and I went for our honeymoon. When we booked our stay we weren’t aware the resort was still closed due to the hurricane. We mentioned to them we were going for our honeymoon and were promised something special which didn’t happen. Out of 3 elevators for the buildings that were open, only 2 of them worked sometimes. One night all three elevators were out of order and we had to walk up seven flights of stairs to our room at the end of the night. We spent two and a half days without WiFi, and no we weren’t there for WiFi but would’ve at least enjoyed some background noise on the tv before bed. The buffet food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner were cold and the fruit unfortunately you could tell came out of a can which was disappointing. However, eating at the restaurants that was only available through reservation was amazing! My husband and I feel like the staff were pressured to open so soon prior to being ready to open. We do not blame the staff for trying so hard because they truly were so nice and helpful. There is also no beach right off the property unless you walk all the way to another resort. We may give this resort another chance later in the future after having some time of being open, but not having an actual beach is unfortunate.
P.S. Check in for almost everyone was about a 3 hour wait after the posted 1PM check in time.

Overall I enjoyed the beautiful property, my room was gorgeous, and the swim up bar was pretty awesome too. However, the property was huge and some of the main elevators were down during most of my stay. I had to walk to an elevator that was working or take the stairs to the 6th floor. Even if I walked to a working elevator it felt like a half a mile. The amenities say you get a bottle of spirits each day of your stay. When I noticed my spirits was not replenished the next day I called the desk to be told it is a one time deal. Disappointing but the all-inclusive made that better.

I had a great overall experience at this resort. The rooms were very clean and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. There were plenty of activities available, which kept things fun and engaging every day.

The beach area was especially nice—it felt almost private and was well set up, making it a great place to relax.

The only area that could use improvement is the food. While it was decent, I think the resort could enhance the experience by offering a wider variety of high-quality international dishes to better accommodate guests from different backgrounds.

Overall, a pleasant stay and I would definitely consider coming back!

Everything was great overall! My husband and I were able to truly relax and disconnect for our week away. However, we felt the food wasn't the best we've ever had (which was also the same feeling from other guests) and at times, things would run out and not be replaced at the buffet. Another disappointing thing was half of the resort was closed due to construction, which we were not made aware of until we arrived. So with that, you were limited on access and having the entire immersed experience of the entire resort. From what we could see it looks gorgeous on the other side (the side we had access to was also beautiful!), so we would come back for a long weekend to get the full resort! Nothing in life is perfect, you have to create your own fun and sunshine! Overall, we recommend the stay! The adults only aspect is a dream and we truly immersed ourselves into full relaxation mode with the gorgeous views of the island.

At times the restaurant’s servers could be a little more attentive. We were somewhat disappointed with the beach, the area was much too small and just too much seaweed.
Excellent pool area, and lots of activities throughout the day. Overall, an enjoyable stay and I would return, despite being unable to get a little earlier check in.

However, like any travel experience in a post-hurricane landscape, there are nuances to navigate, and from world-class hospitality to the inevitable high-pressure membership pitches, here is the breakdown of my stay. The hotel is immaculate, with beautifully maintained grounds and pools that create a great atmosphere for a getaway, and what you see online is exactly what you get. The entire staff is absolutely amazing, extremely friendly, and genuinely welcoming, but a huge shoutout must go to Auletta, the very first person who greeted us at the hotel and was just the sweetest and most welcoming person you could ever want to meet, as well as Uton at the lobby bar who is definitely the man and made the experience even better. For folks who don't want to miss their fitness, there is a great gym facility on-site, and while the beach is quite rocky, the pool area is fantastic with plenty of space to lounge. Wonderful resort! Great staff, room, entertainment, pools and beach. The food was outstanding. I was extremely impressed and will def be back. They truly take care of their customers and go avove and beyond to make sure you're comfortable and having a great time. I can't say enough great things about this resort and the staff. Be sure to make reservations for the restaurants ahead of time but the buffet was so good if you can't score a res. Fresh fish, steak, chicken, pork cooked daily. Rooms are beautiful and comfortable. We cant wait to come back. I highly recommend this resort!!!

We enjoyed our stay at Bahia Principe in Runaway Bay. The welcoming was great and inviting. The room was clean, large and with the layout of the bathroom just right. We appreciated the view since it had a partial sea view and a view of the local homes next tot he property. We were on the 7th floor so the view was relaxing. During our time that we stayed many of the restaurants that are listed on the website was not availbale due to renovation and repairs. However, the Indian themed restuarant and the buffet was excellent. The only downside was I said yes to a 90 minute presentation after we had arrived. I wished that I had not done so, because I do not care for time share type of promotions. I was initially told it was not. My wife and I would stay here again only if the entire facility will be open and more restauarnt choices and beach access available. Ovarall a good stay for the three nights of stay.

This property was definitely not ready to reopen. Restaurants were still closed, all pools were not open, elevators NEVER worked in the mornings, we always had to take the stairs up and down to get around the property and back and forth to our room and when it rained there was water everywhere on our room level in the halls. There was absolutely nothing enjoyable about the property. The shows are only on Friday, the pool closed at 3 and 6pm. Everything we did and enjoyed doing was off the property. Staying here was definitely a waste of money and I do not feel I got my money worth and I would not recommend this location to anyone. I am HIGHLY disappointed, feel like I was robbed for my money. Worst all inclusive resort I have even encountered.

Resort just opened on April 1 and half of the resort is not opened (planned for December). Expedia advertised as all available. Dispite that I had lovely time. They had limited numbers of guests which meant no big crowds at the restaurants and buffet. Rooms, pools, and beaches were nice and clean. Staff was very friendly and very helpful. Food wasn't amazing but it was ok. There are still repairs going on and there were some issues with roof leaking in one of the restaurants, but all was fixed quickly.

The property was immaculate and the staff were wonderful, especially considering they just reopened this month after the hurricane repairs. I only had a few complaints: First, it was extremely hard to get dinner reservations. We were staying for an entire week and were only able to make reservations for 2 of the nights, so we were stuck with the buffet or room service for the majority of our time. That being said, the buffet was very good (but gets boring after a few days). Secondly, the Privilege Club meeting was an EXTREMELY hard sell. They brought 3 different staff members over to try to convince us and we were stuck there for almost 3 hours of our first full day. I finally had to tell them \"Look, we run a business and it took us 8 years to finally take a vacation that doesn't involve work, and instead of being relaxed - you guys are seriously stressing me out\".

Lastly, the staff needs to be better trained on not knocking when we had the do not disturb sign on our door. And they don't give you enough time to answer before just opening the door. We had to go to bed early our last night for an early flight, and housekeeping knocked on our door and then came inside our room at 9 pm waking us up to ask if we wanted turn down service. We also had to disconnect the phone because they were calling us from the lobby at 8 in the morning ON OUR VACATION to sell us different services.

With a few training tweaks, could be a great stay.

As a Platinum member they made no provision for my arrival or benefits offered by Expedia. I could not book the speciality restaurant in advance and could not check in, in advance. When arriving only one restaurant was available with space. I had to take it or continue eating at the buffet every night. Not what you expect when spending considerably money. No recognition of my Platinum status. The hotel food meat was very dry. Some meats were so dry it was not possible to eat. I would recommend that Platinum Expedia customers who expect good service and Platinum benefits keep well clear of this hotel. No entertainment after an evening meal past 9pm. Not even music in the lobby. No offer of an upgrade even though the hotel was almost empty. Guests and staff shared the only working elevator between 7 floors. The sauna was advertised but on arrival not avaialble and out of service. One of the main reasons for booking the hotel. There was no alternative luxury offered. A very disappointing experience when there are many other hotels available. In my view a total waste of time, effort and money.

Jamaica was incredible, but our stay at Bahia Principe in Runaway Bay was disappointing. Check in was very slow, and our room was not properly cleaned. There was dirty underwear under the sink. Our friends were double booked and were asked to leave their room after another couple was checked into it. Their replacement room had double beds instead of a king, and the entire process took from 3:00 PM to about 5:30 PM.

Service across the resort moved slowly. Even when you are being helped, staff stop to assist other workers who interrupt. This happened while checking in, booking excursions, getting drinks, and making dinner reservations.

The resort app never recognized my reservation, so I could not book dinner and had to wait in long lines at guest services. Room service never answered the phone.

We were not told that half the resort was closed due to hurricane repairs. Only four restaurants were open, and most reservation times were unavailable unless you wanted to eat at 9:30 PM. When we arrived for our 9:30 reservation, we were told we were too late to experience the full menu.

Both parties in our group were promised complimentary massages by the manager, Amir, but the spa had no record of it and Amir never followed up.

Jamaica itself was wonderful and the snorkeling was amazing, but I am not sure I would return to this resort.

Stayed at Bahia Principe Luxury Grand and it honestly didn’t match the “luxury” branding.

Check-in was delayed and my room wasn’t ready until about 4:30 PM. From the start there were major issues with my room key—it didn’t work for over an hour on arrival and required multiple trips to security. It was never properly resolved either; the key continued to be unreliable and even failed again on the last night, forcing another long hassle just to get into my room.

Service throughout the resort was consistently cold and unhelpful, with staff often coming off as dismissive, which made basic interactions frustrating instead of welcoming.

Food was also below average—repetitive, inconsistent, and not reflective of a higher-end resort.

The property itself looks nice, but the ongoing key problems, poor service, and weak food quality really bring the entire experience down.

Would I visit Jamaica again? Yes.
Would I stay here again? No.

This hotel had just reopened, they were clearly not ready. The lifts don’t work or intermittently work when it comes to room we had to have two rooms first room had paint flaking away from the ceiling. Mosquitoes TV didn’t work. Phone didn’t work really bad. Second room better but again issue with mosquitoes Beach really long way way to walk no bar service on the beach in an all-inclusive hotel, swimming pool very noisy main pool and not clean. The other pool was very quiet and no atmosphere. The photos are nowhere near what you experienced unfortunately needs a major refit major refi very soon they should not have reopened. It was just not ready. it was that bad we went for 10 days after eight days after being woken up first thing in the morning when we were sleeping to ask us how our experience,on top of everything else this was the final straw and we moved hotels to the Iberostar

The resort was not what it claimed to be. The rooms smelled of mold, the bedsheets were dirty, there was a huge hole in my wall. The pools closed at 6 and. The beach was closed. No where to swim in the ocean. No kayaks or snorkeling spots only one swim at bar that took forever to get a drink. The staff were rude except for the entertainment crew. The entertainment was not good. They were playing 70s music only had one event in the evening long lines to get into the buffet. The ceiling fell in the buffet while we were eating and they continued seating people we lost power and got stuck in an elevator. The whole experience was terrible. The food was not good. The buffet was always empty with not a lot of options. I do not recommend booking this property for your stay.

I want to start off saying that the staff and food were excellent. ALL workers worked hard considering the circumstances. We didn’t realize this property was closed for renovations and reopening after the devastation of the hurricane. When we purchased the package, we were under the assumption that all advertised amenities were available and READY when we arrived. However, we quickly learned otherwise. There was quite a bit of damage done to the building and repairs were still being made. As a result, there were many amenities that were not available. For instance, only one pool and swim-up bar was open, one buffet was open, and three restaurants were available for nightly reservations, so lines were often long and/or reservations were unavailable. There was no working TV or phone in our room and no nightly entertainment to enjoy except ONE Friday night show that comes with an additional $25 charge per person. The spa facility was operating on one of the base levels in an area that guests used to stay and noisy because of the constant foot traffic. There was no “spa” facility to relax and enjoy aside from getting an ordinary message that was priced at their traditional rate. The bed linens and pillows smelled so musty and sour, I had to cover them with one of our t-shirts to mask the smell until we could get them changed. One steward came to our door wanting to clean our room at 10:30 one night. Facility wasn’t ready, don’t go until fully opened.

Do not go. The main beach is also closed so if you enjoy swimming you will be disappointed, only small sections with rocks are open right now. Room service barely answers the phone and neither does the main lobby. The rooms are als not really clean, worn out and stained. Horrible experience would never go back. The club in the resort is closed, so expect to spend 200$ US or more if you want to go out. The feeling in our was so bad it moved with the wind.

My experience at this resort was extremely disappointing from start to finish. The property had just reopened on April 1, and I checked in on April 3—but it was clearly not ready to receive guests.

The first room I was assigned was completely uninhabitable. The TV wasn’t mounted, the bed had no sheets, the bathtub was covered with tarps, the toilet was visibly dirty, and cleaning supplies were left behind in the bathroom. There was also no electricity. Although check-in was at 3 PM, I didn’t receive a usable room until 9 PM.

That night I was placed in a disabled-access room that did not meet my needs and was told there were no other options. The following day, after explaining everything again, I was reassigned—only to be sent back to the same unusable room. After escalating the situation, I was finally moved hours later.

Management offered a 25-minute complimentary massage for two days of disruption, which felt inadequate given the circumstances. In the third room, the TV still didn’t work, we had no hot water for two days, and the sheets were damp and smelled like mildew.

This stay did not reflect the luxury experience advertised or the price paid. The resort should not have reopened in this condition. I would not return and expect appropriate compensation for the first two days of my stay.

Our check-in was supposed to start at 3pm but one of our rooms was not ready until 10pm. We had 2 rooms.The staff were rude and wasn't provide to provide the two rooms close to each other. Most of the restaurants were closed due to construction. The reservation app for the a la carte did not work. We had to eat dinner at the same restaurant for two nights. The beach is very small.

We did not know half of the property is still shut off to the public. They are still are still rebuilding from the hurricane. The pool closes too early and opens up too late 9am. The restaurant options were limited because the other ones are not open yet. The entertainment is limited too. Our room ac was not the best, it also smelled moldy when we got there. Not all the staff knew how to make the drinks at the bar. The staff was nice. Make sure if you pay got the shoes in advance you make it to the show because if you miss it for some reason they will not refund you. Overall it was an ok experience but I will not be going back to this resort. They should wait until everything is fixed before trying to reopen so soon.

Took 2.5 hrs to get checked into correct room. First room was given to us and another person. The second room wasn’t what we requested. Spoke with manager (Amir) only for him to promise and upgraded room and free massages. Only 1 elevator was working for 2 buildings the first day. Once in the upgraded room the safe didn’t work. The handheld shower head was broken and the tv did not work. We received a call later that evening from manager to schedule our massage. Day of massage went to the spa only to discover he never actually booked the massage.
The pool closes at 6pm.
Only certain restaurants were open and half the resort closed due to construction from the hurricane last year.
The staff that assisted with getting bags back and forth to the room were amazing as well as the lobby bartender Errol!
Swim up bar was okay but the beer kept going out and they didn’t have a lot of options unless you went to the lobby bar.

Only half of the resort was open, and the Wi-Fi and TV didn’t work throughout our stay. The rooms weren’t cleaned well; there were stains on the pillowcases, and the pull-out couch still had a used alcohol bottle inside. One of the drawers even had hair inside. At one point, a housekeeper came into our room while we were on the balcony to ask if it needed cleaning. The restaurants weren’t the best either; the food was good, but it always ran out.

The staff were the absolute best part of this trip! Travis with guest experience was the absolute best, but I have to say they were all great and amazing. I would come back for that reason. I wish there were more restaurants and bars open but I know it will get better in the future as I just went when they just opened. I would definitely go back. Food and beach and the pool were all amazing

The property is not fully open post hurricane. Many of the amenities are not available, which was not disclosed. For example, the family side is not available which means certain amenities which are located on the family side is also not available. They are still recovering. However, the staff, the food and the entertainment was unmatched. They did their best they could to accommodate for the circumstances.

This was the worst stay ever. Nothing worked from the TV, Mini fridge, and phone. We couldn't get room service much less call the front for anything. Elevators weren't working. And someone got stuck every 15 minutes. When you bring up any of the concerns everyone acts so unaware and nonchalant. No help what's so ever. The WiFi also kept going in and out. The rooms had a moldy smell even after requesting to change the sheets. Parking lot had construction men working and security sleeping.

I’m not sure if it’s because of the impact of the storm Mellissa that had impacted Jamaica , they are still working to get back on business. Because our phone and tv wasn’t working and little to no effort was made to approach the issue.

Room clean, bedding clean amenities good one stained towel not good,, bathroom needed a better finish eg polish, shower seal to show came away allowing water to flow on the floor slip hazard, balcany furniture needed cleaning not cleaned after make over. Tv did not work for the whole stay visited by atleast 9 maintenace men still no joy, coffee maker did not work after attempt with 3 coffee machines it was the socket faulty. The staff overall where very polite and tried to assist, bar staff great. No general information in bedroom everything allegedly on app. This was not successful for me incorrect info given to access wifi, correct info given 4 days later. Several teething issues spoiled the experience. Friday evening 3rd april theatre was fab. Room service was good when used. The grand reopening could of been much better. A beautifull room and hotel i just wish there was less teething issues, i would go again in the belief these issues was due too wanting to reopen after storm malissa and help staff earn money too feed their families.
