We chose Salamanca Terraces primarily for the location (which included parking), and we were not disappointed. Room was as expected and we liked the fact it had a microwace/bar fridge/plates/cups/cutlery etc so we could have our own meals when required. Only down side, and this is our own preferance, is that the bed was a little uncomforable, and we had problems getting a good nights sleep. (this may not effect everyone). There were amenities/facilities across the road at Lenna of Hobart, but we did not partake in this. As said, location was great to explore the markets on Saturdays, walk the wharf area with lots of different eating establishments, and explore Battery Point all without using the car. I would recommend.

The room was above the entrance to the building and also the entrance to the carpark. Very very noisy at all times of day and night. Staff acknowledged this issue and said there would be upgrades next year. Not any good to us.

The apartment is a good size and very clean and comfortable. There is also a small balcony with a good view. The apartment is round the corner from salamanca place, so straight into the lively atmosphere, good restaurants, shops and bars. Have used these before and will use again, you have to check in at the Lenna hotel opposite which is fine, the young lady there i dealt with was very good and pleasant.

Room was spacious & had most of the things you need. Overall rooms are due for an update as floor tiles in kitchen & bathroom were cracked & chipped. Kitchen cupboards also need a few additions like microwave containers, oven trays etc. But overall great location & would recommend.

We checked in and the room smelt of gone off fish. The smell was so strong it was not bearable.
We reported this to staff who didnt really believe us so we had a wait for someone to come down and check it out.
We then spoke with a manger who upgraded us for 1 of the 2 nights which was great and we really appreciated. Night 2 we had to move and the room we were given was run down and budget but cost a lot.
I wish I had have done more research as it was not a great experience.

Room wasn’t as pictured - no bath which was why I’d booked it, and it was described as ‘shower/bath’ but was only a shower.
Staff a bit rude at check in, and also when I asked for the bottle of wine Expedia had added as a frequent traveller VIP perk. Then they gave me a $10 bottle of wine. Overall just a bit disappointing.

I've previously stayed in another apartment here and its condition was much better.

The location could not be better, restaurants, markets and Constitution Dock, all a very short walk away. The room was clean, large bathroom and the kitchenette was useful. Free car parking is a bonus! I would visit again for my next Hobart trip.

This is the second time I have stayed at this property and unfortunately this time does not compare to the first. This time the room was small, smelly and noisy (air con & fridge) In saying that the room was very clean and tidy. The free parking and convenient location was the sole reason we picked this property and this did not disappoint.

Perfect location in Salamanca. Everything walkable. Only issue was the shower would go from hot to cold and back again without any warning. Some furniture is a little worn. But all that can be overlooked because of the location and price.

We loved our stay here. Great view from the penthouse room and very affordable. The only issue we had was when we went out for the day and the staff made up our room, when we got back they had left both the balcony doors wide open. Being in Tassie, when we got back it was freezing in the room. On another day they had turned the air conditioning on. Not sure why as I didn’t have the chance to ask them. It was just a bit strange.

Never stay there again, ruined our trip to Hobart!

Whilst the people at reception including the manager were lovely, our stay was negatively impacted by our room being accessed by the cleaners whilst we were still staying there! They threw out items we had bought on our travels like cheeses and wine and were about to keep everything else until we walked into our room. Note this was before checkout time and we hadn’t checked out yet! Management were nice but just feel violated and still don’t know what worse they threw out! Left such a negative impact on our first visit to Tasmania!
Would never stay there again!

Great Location, right on the corner of Salamanca Place. Parking included (if full you can park across the road in Lenna car park at no charge). Plenty of space inside apartment, quiet location. Only negatives: cleanliness was ok, but not great and bed was uncomfortable (rock hard).

Difficult to sleep. Outside the window is carpark and road, boom gate is directly below apartment; can hear cars, boom gate and voices at all hours at night. Indoor air is carpet stale, heating slow and stagnant; facility does not match the service or quality of nearby locations at a similar price. Property insists on only showing the fanciest room advertised and doesn't match the reality. Note also, for wheelchairs, apartment had interior stairs that would limit access. Would recommend lowering the cost per night for the booking unless booking the advertised room. Location I think is the only reason the price was set to 189/night. Matched offerings elsewhere are priced at less. Would have expected less if paid less per night. Chose location thinking i could save on nearby Market Parking fees, but they're only $5.60 per hour, also this apartment has a steep uphill, for access, so again, for walkers or wheelchairs, this is not a great option for visiting Salamanca area. Would have been better to choose elsewhere and pay for parking.

Prime location and good room for the money.

Maintenance and cleanliness could be better (kettle was disgusting and some cabinet hardware was broken). Combo washer/dryer was not what I expected based on pics and description, which was disappointing.

As a side sleeper, the bed was very comfortable (ultra soft). Windows give zero isolation from noise or temperature though so it can get quite noisy and drafty.

Parking was very convenient. Staff was really friendly.

Horrible.the worst stay in my life.

Reception was so kind and nice.
I’ve got the message that the room is ready ,so I’ve got the key at the reception and entered the room.
Room was ok and I just wanted to relax,so making my coffee at the room,then I heard the door unlock and I looked at the door in surprise. I thought to myself, \"No way it's going to open...but a guy opened the door and entered even without knocking.
I was so surprised and scared…impossible. He said he came here just change the light bulb for the bedside table…okay….but it shouldn’t happened.
The reception already knows that I’m at the room.
Without any notice and someone opened the door with key…????? Unbelievable.
I’ve stayed so many hotels and it never happened.
That’s totally unacceptable.
Too surprised and confused and busy to tell reception though…that stay was horrible.
The worst stay ever in my life.
The guy at the reception was so nice but that ruined my stay and the day.
I never want to stay that place anymore.

One bedroom apartment is old and basic, but very big. Location is great, and parking is very handy. The motion-activated light in the foyer of the apartment would have been awful if we’d been using the sofa bed - there wasn’t a way to switch it off.

Tired and in need of a refresh. Whilst the room proportions are generous and it had what you needed, including a washing machine, things like the older windows letting the street noise in and not being able to wash your face without hitting your head on the mirror cabinets, let it down. Head to wear earplugs each night to be able to get any sleep, and I'm not exaggerating.
The staff were excellent and the location was excellent.
There was also some really nice timber pieces in the apartment, which was at odds with the rest of the tired decor.
The bed was enormous and comfortable.
The pictures in Expedia are misleading for what you actually get. There are photos included of a separate building actually called Salamanca Apartments, and that's what we had hoped to receive. But unfortunately, did not. We didn't realise this was a separate building as the photos indicated it was all part of the same place we were booking.
The check in is confusing, as you are checking into another completely separate building called Lenna of Hobart, which is across the street.

Very disappointed. The room that was assigned to us looked nothing like in the photo's online when I booked. It was a stuffy room facing the carpark on the ground floor. The silver member bottle was a $10 Cabernet, which we never would drink: too heavy: would have been a nice touch to have been given a choice. I specifically mentioned that it was my wife's birthday present: nothing said and nothing extra provided to make it a special day away from home. We travel extensively, as retirees. This was a long way short of a 'special' stay for a special reason. Never stay again. We were that disappointed, that in the morning we left and headed home early. Not for us, as seasoned travelers.

Beds are terrible. Bathrooms are very outdated and could hardly move in the shower. This property needs an entire overhaul. You can hear noise from other rooms and smell smoking from outside or other rooms. Rooms in general have a funny smell.

Convenient and comfortable place for a Hobart stay

A good place to stay when in Hobart right at the end of Salamanca Place. You have all of the eating places that area has to offer on your doorstep. Battery Point is a 5 minute walk while the city centre is just 10 minutes away on foot. We have stayed here several times before and will stay again in the future.

A great apartment in the heart of Salamanca. Close to great restaurants, the harbour, galleries and museums. Everything was in easy reach, and on site parking meant that the car stood still for a few days as everything was within walking distance. Spacious clean room , with daily cleaning. All in all a great place to stay in Hobart.

Great place to stay in Hobart
