A great place to stay near Khao San

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel in the past two weeks. The location is excellent, it’s about 5 mins from Khao San Road but far enough so you aren’t disrupted by the music of clubs and bars.

The reception staff are all very friendly, especially one lady who I think might be the manager. Any questions or problems I had they were happy to help.

The room itself was clean and comfortable. I booked a twin superior room with a window. They provide two free bottles of cold water, towels and toiletries. The air con was very good.

The bathroom in my second booking was much smaller than the first, but it was still usable - especially as a solo traveller.

One thing to note is that there is no lift so you have to carry luggage up the stairs.

Some parts of the room are a bit tired (like marks on the walls etc. but overall it is a good room and a lovely place to stay in Bangkok!

Staff were overbooked on the first night and tried to stick us all in one room rather than the 3 rooms I booked. She then tried to book us in another substandard hotel. When I refused, she tried to blame us for not confirming. I showed her the ebookers confirmation. She then backtracked and said one of the rooms was faulty. Eventually after standing my ground for an hour, she upgraded 2 of us to Suites and me to a Fan room for one night and changed us the following day to the rooms we booked.

At first, they couldn't find our reservation even with the confirmation number provided by Hotels.com. Then I found out it was booked under Expedia. The room was smaller than expected, basically just a bed and tele. But the location was great when it came to being near Khao San Road

Not safe, keep your stuff on you at all time

One of the male staff members stole money from us....left my purse on my bed and went to the toilet without locking the door, came back and there was a male staff member hanging around my door. Checked later and 7000 baht stolen! So upset.

Had a one night stay before heading back to England. Room spacious and nice. Bathroom just had curtains no glass in the windows which was fine as it dried out quickly. Bed comfortable. Had a late check out for half day rate so left at 6pm in a great area . Only let down was staff very slow to serve in restaurant and reception. We left the restaurant and went next door where staff were very good friendly and on the ball.Would stay again as good value.

good spot. decent room.

perfect location for what we wanted to do and see. in the middle of the street market. no shortage of stuff eat or buy. multiple places for massage or pedicure within very short walking distance. alot of motivated street salesmen down the street. be polite but firm. respect the hustle.
room was clean enough for area I guess. bathroom is shower and toilet same room. bathroom smelt awful always, no idea why...only thing that could have been better.. but besides that. was quiet on the inside not very loud like you would expect... staff was friendly and spoke enough english. must leave your passport \"OR\" a 1500$ deposit to stay.

overall not to shabby.

Location was super good. but...

I stayed just 2night. inside Rambuttri ST ...it was amazing location. but that's all. I felt uncompotable because they had strict policy. My friend visited me only a few minuts. and they asked pay money to my friend. and there were so many cockroachs in the first floor restaurant. If I visit bankok again, I will be stay there. the only one reason why I love there location

Hotel in great location for exploring Bangkok. Budget room is overpriced but ok for a few days. Don't book anything through the hotel, it will cost you double. Plenty of booking agents around. Also food/drinks cost a lot more than down the road for the same thing.
Don't be fooled by website pics...Don't pay up front till you'v seen the room.

Good location, bad hotel

Besides the location being next to Khao San Road and one young girl on reception who was absolutely lovely, the other staff were so rude!! Everything you ask is a problem. you have to ask for room to get cleaned and wifi is bad! Really loud and bedroom is like a prison cell with no windows and so small!! Bathroom was on the balcony and leaked so there was water leaking on the floor throughout our stay and there's no windows, just holes... go further out the city and get a nicer hotel for your money!

Great location, so close to the action on Khao San Rd but far enough away from the noise to get some sleep.
Be careful not to get ripped off out on the street, barter for everything. Don't let tuk tuk drivers taking you to travel agents, they get a commission and the prices just aren't that good. All in all a good fun place to go!

I was spending one night in Bangkok and I needed to be centrally located to all the action in the city. The hotel is located close to Kao San road and I wanted to be close to the action but not in the middle of it. The hotel offer that and the price was just right for the location and room condition.

I stayed here for three days due to my tour time constraints. It was okay though the attitude of the check in clerk was rude. The other girl was pleasant. I would've stayed somewhere else the it was economy friendly. You have to leave a $1599. Pp Baht deposit for the key until checkout. It is noted on your hotel notes. I would say it is conviently located to party and social networking. Again, it all starts with attitude and there is a decent restaurant on the premises.

Great hotel if planning to just sleep here

This place was a good first stop in Thailand. The room is tiny, as is the bathroom. You can't have anything in the bathroom you don't want wet, because everything does (including tp). The room had a good sized bed, but not much else would fit in the room. It had a tv, and a luggage shelf and that's about it. If you are tall, be careful in the room and bathroom (my bf is 6\"4 and hit his head a couple of times on the low ceilings). The staff were polite but abrupt. Sort of uninterested. Which is fine. The hotel is in a great location. Near but not on top of the craziness. 7/11 nearby, lots of restaurants, lots of people selling stuff. Good place for backpackers.

Nice place, comfortable bed, decent shower, air conditioning, good wi-fi.
This is good place to stay, inexpensive, well located...lots of bars, good food and massages within minutes.
It won't blow your mind, but that's because it leaves your wallet alone.

I asked for my passport, reception said I have to \"check out\" if I want my passport. After being called a \"girl\" by receptionist, staff actually threw a pair of scissors at me!! Then I was attacked by a goon that the staff called! I wish someone recorded this!!

Okay hotel in a great location

Located right beside Khaosan road (bar and shopping street) and within 5-10 minute walking distance of many massage and spa areas. Also a big plus that there are many tourists and good restaurants nearby. In terms of the actual hotel, there is no elevator, so walking to the 4th floor for my standard room was tiring. Room is large enough and had a king sized bed within mine.

This place was perfect for the stay walking distance to khao San road and situated in the centre of all the restaurants, bars and market. We had a fantastic stay great value with a very clean room. The bathroom is quirky and had a great shower. Our only complaint would be the woman on the tour desk who was very rude and acted like a 3 year old and wouldn't talk to us when we queried the price on a trip. Other all other staff were great !

Location is in the heart of all the night life. Not handicap accessible. Ladies at the front desk are not always helpful, but they try. The tour desk near the entrance is your go-to information desk in this case. Rooms are dim, but everything as expected from reading reviews. Overall, clean, good location.

1. Sadly the reception messed up our booking we asked for a double room with two beds and we got a room with a king size bed. The worst the attitude of the clerk which was more like you are lucky to get a room here.

2. The hotel is a bit teared down and it's noticeable. It needs a bitime of remodeling. The rooms are pretty small so expect to just jump into bed more or less. The rooms could have been better if they dedicated a bit of time on layout and use of the space so they were more inviting.

3. Got to say that the restaurant is the best part of the hotel. The food and drinks are not extremely expensive and the people working there are very friendly. This is the place you will spend most of your time at the hotel. The breakfast is okay could have been better.

4.The best about the place is the location near Khaosan Rd. But still far enough so you can get a good night sleep.

The hostel is actually in a nice area. Very central and convenient for tourists. The rooms however have thin walls and you can hear everything in the aisle and the next room. I woke up many times as some guests are just banging their doors shut. Not the best sleep I had.

I've stayed at Sawasdee House a number of times over the past 8 years, but I think this might be my last. It's a big guesthouse and it's always very busy with people eating/drinking downstairs, but they haven't really appeared to have spent any money on improvements over the years and the rooms, stairwells etc are beginning to look pretty tired. The front desk service is usually good, and I still think Soi Rambuttri is a great location, but there are so many other places in the local area to stay for similar money

Stayed here after flying from the islands back to Bangkok. I only needed a place to sleep for a few hours before finding a better hotel for the remainder of my stay.
The room is very basic, small and clean. If you're looking for a bed in koan San road area, this is a good option. Very no frills and the front desk staff is not very friendly. Unfortunately my room was on the 5th floor and I had to carry my suitcase all the way up (as the front desk lady watched without helping) all the way up.
Overall I wouldn't repeat but For the price it's ok if you're on a budget and want to stay In the khao San area.

初めての海外旅行で、初めてのホテルでしたが問題なく泊まれました。
412という部屋に泊まりましたが、セーフティボックスや冷蔵庫はあります。湯沸かし器をいじればお湯も出ます。日本のビジネスホテルより広いです。
この値段で泊まれたのは満足でした。
また、受付の女性スタッフは笑顔が素敵な方で、英語で対応してくれます。（日本語は話せないようです。）

カオサンのメイン通りへは徒歩3分ほどで行けます。また、ワットポーやワットプラケオも歩いて行ける距離（歩くことが嫌いな人は少ししんどいかも知れません。）なので、三大寺院目当ての方にもオススメです。

またタイに行く時は泊まりたいです。

Väldigt små rum, helt okej service, toaletterna väldigt trånga med en dusch. Handdukarna hade svarta ränderna på sig och de kändes aldrig riktigt fräscht att sova i sängen. Vi valde att flytta till ett lite lyxigare hotell istället mer centralt. Blev nöjd med det.

ソイランブトリの雰囲気が好きな方には、良い立地だと思います。目の前はそこそこ賑やかですが、反対向きの部屋だった為か、静かでした。部屋も清潔でしたが、少し全体的に水回りを含め狭めだったのと、今回は階段で４階だったのがキツかったです。でも次も利用したいです。

受付には女性と男性の2人がいました。
男性のお爺さんは英語が喋れず、女性のみ英語でコンタクト出来ます。アットフォームな感じでとても快適に過ごすことができました。立地条件も良く、ほとんどの観光名所には行くことができました！自転車は無料で貸してもらえました。
また機会があれば訪れたいです！
このホテルは設備より優しい笑顔の女性とお爺さんを評価したいです。昔懐かしい気持ちになりました。

Iedere keer veel problemen bij het inchecken, toch weer naar een hogere etage terwijl er een lage was beloofd. We werden weeeeer niet geholpen met onze bagage naar boven brengen en dat terwijl we over de 70 zijn.
Uiteindelijk hebben andere gasten ons geholpen met de bagage
