Loved the casual ambiance with all facilities on the property and being able to stay there and enjoy the weekend without having to go out of the property. We are west Australian and we’re not there to see the attractions in the area we were having a relaxing weekend BUT Cape Lodge is in the middle of a beautiful area. Beautiful and sprawling property, with a really nice well manicured lawn, some pretty trees, a nice lakeside restaurant and even a pool. Each room is luxuriously appointed, and the amenities are great. Ours even had a little patio outside which is great for an early morning coffee!

Only stayed one night. Room was lovely. It was a Sunday night and there was one sitting for dinner at 6.30pm. We arrived late and by the time we realised it was too late so had to go out and find somewhere else to eat. Also the dinner was expensive and a big tasting kind of menu that we didn’t really fancy anyway. Breakfast was too expensive too.

This property is beautiful and our room was expansive. We did get a free upgrade so the room exceeded our expectations. The grounds are gorgeous with shrubs, trees and bird activity. On our way we got our 1st sighting of kangaroos even though it was a hot day.

Our stay at Cape Lodge was amazing. The staff and service was the best we have experienced and we were lucky to receive an upgraded room which was a lovely surprise. We had dinner in the restaurant and fully cooked breakfasts the next morning and the food could not be faulted, all set within beautiful surroundings in a beautiful part of the South West. We were delighted with our stay and look forward to returning again soon.

Disappointing experience in a luxury hotel

Whilst the lodge looks picture perfect and is surrounded by beautiful gardens, bush and vineyards we were disappointed with what we got for the price we paid for our room.
There was dust and dirt on the floor in the corner of the bathroom; there was a stain on the bed linen; the paint on the door frame of the toilet was chipped in many places - the lack of maintenance and cleanliness is not expected for a luxury hotel.
The buffet breakfast and a la carte menu for hot items was excellent, however the main lady who serves you in the morning was rude and prioritised other guests to be seated first despite the fact that we were already waiting for 10min.
Good location as there are many wineries nearby and its an easy drive to Cape Leeuwin and the Lake Cave.
it seems like a lot of the accommodation in Margaret river is dated so Cape Lodge may still be a step up from accommodation nearby.

Set in lovely grounds- lake gardens nearby vineyards - this place appeals to all of the senses. Staff could not be more helpful . The room was large ( we were upgraded on arrival) and amenities were excellent.
Food in the restaurant was first quality - breakfast and dinner and service was impeccable .We had a restful 4 days stay. In the warmer weather there is a pool and tennis court. We enjoyed walking around the property.

Enjoyed 3 nights here in May. Our room was very large as was bathroom. (Looked newly refurbished). It was very comfortable, well laid out with large couch and view of lake We enjoyed the best hotel breakfasts I have ever had. The Sunday shared feast was also very good.

This is a high end luxury lodge and the property is maintained with well manicured lawns and pleasant walking trails. They have an attentive and pleasant staff who make your stay comfortable. The restaurant serves excellent breakfast with a good choice of hot meals. The four course dinners were memorable. They have their own vineyard and the small produce is consumed at the estate. Locationwise , most of the wineries , farmers markets and key towns along Margaret river are a 20-30 minute drive.Highly recommended.

A really nice hotel experience, Reception staff member who both checked us in and checked us out – was very pleasant and polite and explained the hotel offerings very well. The room was well fitted out nice and light and everything we needed. Regarding the Restaurant – we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon drinks & also Breakfast, I must say the breakfast “Hot choice items” were a stand out.
The Lodge is immaculately presented, the grounds are extremely well kept – very very impressed with the resort growing its own herbs and vegetables along with its very own Shiraz and SB wine – a really unique touch.

Although the rooms are a little tired the setting remains beautiful and quiet. Most staff are delightful.
Bed is comfortable. Internet coverage was unpredictable which made working difficult at times.
Restaurant served lovely food but was over priced for what you got. we found surrounding venues provided better value and amazing quality food.

The only place to stay in Margaret River.

My wife and I felt it was an absolute pleasure to stay at this Lodge. Everything about our stay was 5 Star +. The Lodge is set off the main road in an idyllic vineyard setting. Every room has great views of the local surrounds including lakes, gardens and vineyards. The rooms are fantastic - extra large with quality amenities and a spa. The restaurant served a 5 star breakfast that you would expect of a quality lodge and the evening meals and wine selection are superb. There is also a lounge bar that overlooks a lake.

This was such a great and unexpected experience, that we will go back again next year.

A peaceful getaway!

We had a most wonderful getaway for 4 nights! We got an excellent rate with Hotels.com. The food is exceptional and the service is fabulously attentive. The Lake Suite had beautiful views but was rather tired. The television wasn't digital and struggled with its picture quality. The location however was stunning and the peaceful lakes were so beautiful.

Beautiful setting, breakfasts are still a feature. We ate dinner here for one night only this trip. Whilst it was enjoyable we did not think it was exceptional nor an improvement since our last visit 7 years ago & the afternoon teas did not outshine the muffins that used to be served.

Sublime 40th Anniversary presemt

My sister and I had celebrated our 60th birthdays here with a degustation dinner but had never stayed. Our lovely children treated us to a night here for our 40th Wedding Anniversary after a stay at Prevelly Beach. My daughter must have told the staff of the occasion when she bought a meal voucher as an added gift and we were treated to a beautiful heart on the bed made out of fresh rose petals with a rose in the middle!
Cape Lodge a little part of paradise tucked away in the forest. All buildings, gardens and restaurant are classy and elegant. Staff are welcoming and knowledgeable and service top rate and unobtrusive. Many staff are overseas trained. The dinner was as wonderful as our previous occasions there though we did not have degustation this time. Complimentary wine tastings before dinner consisted of 2 full glasses of Cape Lodge white and red grape pressings!Breakfast was as good as everyone says,coffee made freshly. I don't think you could ever have a nicer one or in such a beautiful setting watching ducklings in the lake.

Sublime 40th Wedding Anniversary Gift.

Our lovely children treated us here for a night after a stay in Margaret River for our 40th Wedding Anniversary. We were greeted with a heart formed out of rose petals on the bed with a rose in the middle. Just beautiful.
Sublime covers it all - the buildings, staff, restaurant and meals -complimentary wine tasting - 2 glasses of Cape Lodge wine! pressed from grapes grown on the property.
Staff are all respectful and discrete and know how to welcome and serve you in this little part of paradise.

Romantic weekend with a saggy mattress!

Absolutely loved staying at Cape Lodge. My only issue was the bed, mattress had seen too many days or should I say nights. Was saggy in all the places that I needed it not to be! This in no way dampened our weekend, apart from the mattress comfort or lack there of it was fantastic. Loved the food, the peacefulness, the beautiful gardens. I took my partner for his birthday over the Anzac Day long weekend and stayed 3 nights and 4 days, overall it was a fantastic place to stay.

A little bit of luxury in the Vineyards of WA

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed and looked after. Make sure you enjoy the wine and cheese on offer in the sumptuous drawing room from 5.00pm each night. Unfortunately, the dining room was closed the night we were there, but the cheese platter was delicious and we did not go hungry.
The breakfast is a joy - overlooking the gorgeous lake in the grounds.

This beautiful hotel is set in a large garden property full of shrub borders around immaculate lawns making for a very restful and pretty environment. The restaurant with its stunning food overlooks a delightful spring fed lake and is particularly attractive in the morning stillness when the reflections on the still water make a great outlook while eating one of the most delicious healthy breakfasts you will have anywhere. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly and attentive staff.

A winner in every respect if you enjoy the lodge dining, which we did. Going out to dinner is perhaps a half hour drive if Margaret River is the destination. This being Autumn, it gets dark around 5:30pm, and country roads are dark, narrow and drinking a bottle of wine between two could get you arrested. The lodge has very fine dining, and a great wine list to include their own wines.

We flew in from Sydney and stayed for two nights, before attending a conference in Perth. The rooms were spacious, the grounds pretty and the food in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner great. We had a wine tasting at the hotel and bought an all inclusive ticket to spend a day exploring three wonderful nearby caves and the lighthouse. A great weekend away.

It is in a perfect location - the best wineries can be explored from here. They are between a 5-20 minute drive away. The grounds of the hotel are absolutely idyllic. There are even wild parrots in the garden. Above all the quality of food is immaculate - whether it is only room service, the breakfast buffet or fine dining at the restaurant. The only negative is that the standard superior rooms (which we stayed in) could do with updating and a bit of modernisation. For a hotel that would probably want to place itself in the same bracket as a Four Seasons hotel, the lack of luxury as regards the room is a bit of a disappointment. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay very much.

Comfy beds, spacious room and professional service

Recently had a one night stay at Cape Lodge - as you drive into the grounds immediately you sense the calming environment. Very impressed with the size of the room and good quality bed linen. We ordered room service after a busy day out and my son and I rate that as the best room service dinner ever having had a life time of travelling overseas. Well done to your chef.. Breakfast, I had the baked eggs which was yummy, perfectly seasoned. My only small fault was the coffee served appeared a little cold - dont think it was barista style, more like an instant machine such as the Nespresso - could be wrong though...
