The room was a bit dated and likely due for a make-over, but everything was well-maintained and spotless. Everything you needed was available. Staff was great - Fiona is a gem.

A Wonderful Stay at Empire Spa Retreat in Busselton

My husband and I recently stayed at Empire Spa Retreat in Busselton, Western Australia, during our trip to attend a wedding at Aravina Estate in Yallingup. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how easy it was to find the property, and we immediately felt welcomed by the friendly and professional staff.

The setting of Empire Spa Retreat is simply delightful, surrounded by a serene natural environment full of trees and a variety of beautiful birds. It was the perfect escape for some relaxation. The atmosphere made us feel safe and at ease throughout our stay, and the level of care from the staff truly made a difference in our experience.

One of the best aspects of staying at Empire was its convenience. The retreat is located near plenty of wonderful wineries, art galleries, and excellent food spots, as well as being close to the wedding venue, Aravina Estate. We could easily explore the area while being close to all the activities we had planned.

Overall, our stay at Empire Spa Retreat was a truly positive experience, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay in the Busselton and Yallingup region. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Lovely quiet property nestled in native bushland.
Rooms were very clean and nice with a private deck overlooking the bush. The bed was very comfortable.

Beautiful and well maintained property with excellent service. Located very conveniently within 5 minutes drive to Dunsborough town but situated in a quiet and exclusive location right next to the bush. I loved the outdoor balcony looking onto the bush and outdoor shower. Breakfast service was delicious and generous.

Empire was 10/10. Such a beautiful property with a very relaxing and peaceful vibe. The breakfast supplied was healthy with delicious Gluten Free and Vegan options. The Suite we stayed in was impeccably furnished and clean with all facilities. I would highly recommend this place if you need a rest and recharge in nature surrounded by beautiful things. Kirsty was a brilliant host. A very caring and passionate person who was lovely to deal with as was the rest of her staff. I look forward to returning here one day.

Loved every minute of our 4 day stay here and will definitely be back.
The whole vibe at Empire is relaxation .
The staff were all very friendly, breakfast was delicious ,we tried a different dish each morning and would find it hard to pick a favourite as we loved them all.
We had the couples 90 minute massage ,which I thought was a bit pricey when I booked it but I can honestly say well worth the money and one of the best I’ve had . Our room was spacious,comfortable,quiet and just like the online photos.
we loved the outdoor shower in its bush setting,and the bath was a good size and very comfortable with wonderful complimentary bath salts .
A couple of things that would have made it a totally perfect experience for me would be the addition of a pod coffee machine,slippers and a complimentary bottle of Empire wine in your room ,then I probably wouldn’t want to leave!

A hidden gem in the area, comfortable and roomy loft suite with character, tastefully decorated and very clean. Friendly staff and an excellent breakfast.

Location is great and beautiful green surroundings. The breakfast service is less than desired with the waitress getting our order wrong on the first day and then not acknowledging us the second day-hardly 5 star service.

We also found the pillows very uncomfortable, be good to have a pillow menu if I'm paying $400+ a night!

Beautiful decor, big comfortable room-we had the deluxe suite with balcony. Very peaceful and private overlooking the forest. Great staff, great breakfast. This was a fantastic experience on our 5th anniversary trip. The property is extremely tastefully done, the rooms are large and luxurious, and ours also had a small sitout overlooking the beautiful native bushland that they've left untouched... Especially beautiful if you sit there, or in their breakfast area early morning to hear the birds and insects waking up.

Absolute gem and attention to detail

If you are looking for a luxury but personable retreat then this is it. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more accommodating and the property itself is fantastic (with not too many rooms) and very well located near a local town with many of the region’s great restaurants. Our only wish was that we could have stayed longer. One of the best places we have stayed in the world.

Empire Retreat - highly recommended

Empire Retreat is a must stay place for a short or extended stay. The property is so serene and the natural surrounds are beautiful. We spent time sitting around the lake and taking a walk.
The breakfast was amazing - healthy and plentiful.

All excellent-EXCEPT- we wanted to watch a bit of Wimbledon before going out to dinner but there was \"no signal\"!
I think an investment in a satellite dish and Foxtel by would be appreciated by many. Football fans also may want to watch a game relaxing for a couple of hours before going out.

We had a lovely couple of days at The Empire Retreat. My partner enjoyed a day being pampered with the Renew spa treatments, the breakfast was simple but stylish and the staff were lovely. Our room was great with the large bath, and the outdoor shower was divine. Highly recommend staying here and will definitely be back again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two nigh stay here. The room and balcony looking out to the natural surrounds were amazing. You don't want to leave your room and there is no need to with a mini bar and fridge stocked with gourmet delights and drinks. The breakfast was superb and again the stunning decor and ambience just added to the experience.

Everything at Empire was lovely - the staff, the breakfasts and the rooms. We were in a Courtyard room and had no problem with noise from the room above or from the breakfast room. The on-site spa was also excellent. A great place to stay if you want peace, quite and comfort.

Empire welcomes you into its embrace, making you feel instantly at home. Lovely set out of the property with lots of gorgeous spaces - the resort was full but the only time we saw the other guests was at breakfast as all the rooms were so private. The outside shower is to die-for. Stunning.

We stayed in the the loft room. It was comfortable with lovely furniture and a beautiful bathroom, although a little noisy in the mornings. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was fantastic. The estate and common areas are beautiful but the room was a little overpriced, as were the spa facilities. Would stay again simply because the estate itself was so lovely.

The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful, going out of their way to ensure you were comfortable during your stay. The cleaning of the rooms both prompt and unobtrusive, and the overall feeling of the venue was warm and welcoming on a cold wintery weekend.

Apart from;
- The shower (in bathtub) that couldn't be used without minor flooding,
- Poorly patched walls where towel rails had been moved (really!),
- No hot or cold water from early to mid Sunday morning
- TV that often just showed 'no signal'

You could probably accept ONE of the above @ $99 per night, but sorry, not what you expect at upmarket accommodation

Chic secluded bush getaway - what's not to love??

Tastefully decorated gorgeous room that was also physically in sync with the local bush environment (think-reading on the deck with a local chardonnay, breathing in the coastal bushy smells as the sun slowly sets) The room was equipped with fancy bathroom products, heavenly towels, and yummy local gourmet foods to sample. We both had wonderful massages at the equally excellent spa which has the same tasteful vibe as the retreat and is also fully sympathetic to its peaceful bush surroundings. Breakfast was a chic affaire too - even had a resident barista! In all a great weekender only 2.5 hrs from Perth

Not the fanciest place we have stayed at, but it is the best place we have stayed at if that makes sense, not 24 hr room service etc but as for the layout the decor the food the staff etc it was just awesome, Would be the first choice for the Margret River region if you want the seclusion luxury stay, great location to base yourself for the wineries and events like the Gourmet Escape..... Loved it !

Beautiful Boutique Hotel in a rustic setting

Although the main entry to the Hotel was not that impressive (rusty gate, dirt road and scruffy vegetation), all these are put behind when one enters the Hotel. The Manager, Cameron, was most helpful, warm and welcoming and made us feel very much at home. The decor had a designer vibe, which is what I like........very tastefully done. Rooms were nice, clean and the beds were very comfortable.
