Check in was rushed , wasn’t explained very well where our room was located , spent 15 minutes looking for it.
Room was outdated for price . Bed was too soft did speak to the duty manager as I have a bad back, house keeping came to room with a white looking doona that had yellow stains over it and was told that was a mattress topper , house keeping were shocked at condition of it as she pulled out of a black garbage bag, then maintence came to our room with a big square piece of wooden board , stripped the bed sheet off , place wood on top of mattress and put sheet on top . That was so hard my partner took it off and went and saw duty manager he said best he could do as all mattresses are the same , he said no one had ever complained about the matresses been soft before .
Dinner valentines night waited 90 minutes for food , food was below average , looked at 13 dirty tables during our visit , staff member was rude, when paying our bill the lady asked if “ I had calm down and wanted to talk . My reply was no and headed to to the duty manager.
I did also make a written complaint to the Abbey and they replied but didn’t really care , for the money we paid for a 2 night stay , very disappointing. Would not go back .

Abbey Beach Resort offers a beautiful setting with stunning gardens and well-maintained grounds that create a relaxing atmosphere. The room was comfortable, though both it and the bathroom could benefit from some modern updates. Despite this, our stay was thoroughly enjoyable. The location is ideal, just a short stroll to the beach and local shops, and close enough to town for convenience while still feeling peacefully removed.

On checking into our room , i rang reception to request a room change as our room , was dirty, chairs outside filthy, ,
and the most critical was the wall on the balcony was covered in active mould, which i felt was a safety issue for my family,
i was advised by reception, there were no spare rooms ,
so i didnt want to make a scene ,
We were short changed a robe , which house cleaning quickly sorted , , day 2, no tissues, as box was finished day before because there was only a few left .

Daily room service is not necessary but a nice touch. Resort decor is dated but very clean. Facilities are great with 2 swimming pools and situated right on the beach.
We have stayed a few times. My only complaint is the noise from other rooms and doors banging, as it's an older property I assume. Definitely request a top floor appartment which would eliminate half the noise.

We had a truly lovely time at Abbey Beach – the perfect spot to unwind and recharge. From the moment we arrived, the vibe was relaxed and welcoming. The staff were friendly and helpful, always happy to assist with a smile (and that goes a long way when you're in holiday mode!).

Room service? Spot on – meals arrived promptly, and everything was delicious. Just the thing after a long day of exploring or, let’s be honest, doing absolutely nothing by the beach!

The only hiccup was the TV reception being a bit dodgy – but honestly, when you’re surrounded by beauty like this, who needs TV? Nature was the real show.

We’ll definitely be back. This place has earned a spot on our \"return-to\" list. Thank you for the peaceful, magical weekend away!

Abbey Beach Resort was suitable for an overnight stay. I did expect more. I booked a room that was meant to be two singles and we got a Queen Bed anyway as the single bed option was not available that night. The shower was COLD no hot water at all. Abbey Beach is starting to look Dated and could use an modern makeover including a new hot water system. My stay was disappointing.

Nice stay.

We stayed here 20 years ago and thought we’d have another look. It reminds us of a resort you’d find in Asia. Has everything on site - food, bar as well as pools gym etc. nice walk to the beach. Rooms very large with mini kitchen - we had a studio suite with a balcony overlooking the pool. Comfy bed and roomy bathroom. Bathroom could use an update but was clean with nice linen.
We stayed for 3 days. Used the bar & restaurant and had good food & well priced drinks.

It is obviously an older hotel . The grounds were great and the beach out front ! We didn’t use the pools but they’re look really nice especially with three of them ! They had an electrical blow out when we were there so that was a weird issue and the trolly to the room was horrible they need a new one to push your bags as they didn’t offer assistance which for a hotel like that we were surprised !
