Could not go onto Balcony as the door could not open. We were in a top floor apartment. All handrails to the top floor on the staircase was loose.

The shower \"door\" into the tub is placed in such a way that it is dangerous to get in and out of this bathtub, because you have to lean against the wall at an angle to open and close the door while standing in the bathtub.

The bed mattresses can do with replacing as it is very worn out. You can feel the bed springs sticking into your back when lying down.

Despite a bit of trouble checking in (requires you to be able to make a phone call, not all overseas visitors can) I had a good stay. The host was very nice and once I checked in all was good. Flat was better than expected; partially a bit worn but very well functioning.
I would stay there again :)

Rooms are in need of a-lot of TLC so is the outside its shame few items missing in my room but made do it was not urgent mine was location.Shower was good, nice & quiet view of beach from patio was great lady was nice who booked me in I have been on both sides of hospitality so I understand but I am sure any improvements are better than none 🙏

Positive: Location next to the beach.
Large sliding door facing the beach to open and let the ocean air in.
Clean apartment.
Plenty of parking.
Check in was very easy.

Cons:
Beds weren’t very comfortable.
Had no hot water one night. We had been out for half the day when we came back and the shower was cold. Not sure if the water heater malfunctioned or if it feeds more than just the one apartment. It worked the next day.

Overall we chose this booking for its proximity to the beach and we were happy with the easy access. Would stay here again, but might bring our own mattress.

We booked two units. One was totally fine (slightly dated but no big deal). The other one had a strong mildew smell. We reported the issue and they switched our second unit, but the replacement unit smelled of cigarettes even after we aired it out for an hour. So we only ended up using one of the two units. The lady who ran the place was nice and attempted to solve the problem but it wasn’t an issue she could solve.

Great location for family visiting Christchurch for BMX while enjoying a beach holiday. Staff are approachable and responsive, clean towels provided during week.
Kitchen could have done with a few extra utensils and some windows and furnishings could benefit from small repairs - nothing that impacted on usability or comfort of the apartment.
We would book again!

Kitchen table glass stand was broken with missing suction cups thus glass was just sliding down…luckily did not break…
Over all a 1 star apartment not a 3 as it was shown on Expedia

Check in for this property was lengthy with payment facilities not working. Parking was very tight. The room was difficult to access and not advertised to be on level one. The main slider door was damaged and unable to be locked. The TV didn't work, and the room was very old with noticeable maintenance required. Bedding was sparce and the covers stained. Extra blankets were very old and pilled. It felt like ones was staying in a teenage boys room. The bathroom was old and towels thin. Roosters nearby obviously out of the properties control

Easy check in, mostly good facilities but really need some maintenance and updating around the outside area. The thing that lets it majorly down is the bed. I don’t think I slept an hour over the whole night. Could feel and hear the springs when moving. That is the thing that sticks in my mind and overshadows the good.

The photos online are deceiving. The apartment we were placed in was too small for our family of 6 and really run down. We were supplied with the world’s smallest bin in the kitchen and they put floor boards in the bathroom and asks people not to get them wet… you’re in a bathroom. There were cracks in all the walls, doors didn’t shut properly and a homeless man started sleeping in the laundry halfway through our stay. We wouldn’t stay here again. The only thing it had going for it was that it was close to the beach.

We didn’t realize that there was no manager on site so had to wait on arrival for a bit, no worries...one of the bedrooms had a large previously wet area on the shower wall side floor, shower leaks on bottom in two places, mould on bottom of bed sheet, dirty bedding in kids room..whole unit was very damp and although heated pump was on low the whole time, heavily condensated throughout unit. Smoke detecter in kids room fallen off roof. The floors were freezing and we had to leave shoes on unless in bed. The adults bed was terribly uncomfortable with springs poking us all night. Tv and large, foldout couch all good but one night was enough. Paid for multiple, not for us thanks.

Not being able to lock the front sliding door was the biggest issue. Unit security was extremely weak.
The stairs access door had to be held shut to ensure the auto lock actually engaged.
The flooring outside of the bathroom has lifted causing a tripping hazard that we had to be very aware of.
One out of four bathroom heat lamps were working and the main light didn't work.
We requested additional FOB keys but there was only one available.
The garage allocated to us had the unmistakable stench of urine so we took another which caused issues with other guests.
Will not be recommending this location.

Contrary to their advert there is not a swimming pool here. The image of the pool is a children's pool located about 1/2 mile away. Property could do with being refurbished. Damage to walls, metal on table was very rusty

Didn’t like anything about this property, 4 sets of stairs to climb with suitcases to my room, no lift, it had been cleaned but was still grubby, mirror in bathroom cleaned at bottom but marks all over the top, the cupboard in the bathroom had paper ripped all over the floor, maybe a rat! The overflow on the floor was full of water and spider webs cover the top.Very uncomfortable bed, blind in bedroom had strung to hold it closed, had a hole in it which was taped over with silver wide tape!!! Couldn’t get tv working but on last day manager came and sorted, one remote to turn on 2nd remote was for functions, should had left instructions? Would I stay here again, NO, paid way too much for this room!

Needed some tidy up. Air con not working, shower head didn’t fit holder, so water sprayed everywhere, not enough towels 2 towels for 2 people for 4 days, very small rubbish bin with no instructions where to empty it.

The apartment was large and spacious, but poorly maintained.

The roller blind over the sliding door was broken. Two of the slats on the bedroom window were missing. The door to the balcony was sticky and nearly impossible to open. There was an alarm in the stairwell which was going off during our entire stay. The host spoke limited English.

We loved the size of the room and the water pressure (which was excellent). We were a little disappointed in the number of items that needed repairs.

Apartment was very small. All the plates and cups were not clean, like they had just been rinsed. There was only 4 coffee servings - 3 adults for 2 nights. Soap dispenser in the shower was empty. It had the weirdest dodgy looking electric dead bolt on the door, that was very loud. Balcony door was almost impossible to open. TV only had Netflix login, no other channels available. Overall was very disappointed.

It did have electric blankets, which was great.

The staff were lovely and without a fine eye the accomodation is spacious, 3 bedrooms, kitchen and lounge with skylights in 2/3 bedrooms.
It was as we started to lock up that the ranch slider didn’t lock and the skylight windows were very difficult to close - one in the “kids” room didn’t close at all so we had to move them into another bedroom.
In the lounge the couch was torn, but the kitchen had suitable equipment which was great.
In the bathroom the shower head was loose in the fitting so when the shower turned on it moved and sprayed all around the bathroom and when the water turned off it dropped in the fitting and banged the wall.. this should be fixed..

The property was in a dreadful condition:

1. Front door handle/lock was broken
2. Dirty towels and lenin from previous customers were still kept without removal.
3. Kitchen was left in an extremely unhygenic condition. Smells like rotten meat.
4. Air-condition was not working.
5. Stairway was very dirty and contaminated.
6. WiFi never works

It was the most unprofessional accomodation we have ever stayed.

It's a shame.

The apartments were really dirty and lacked hygiene. The doors wouldn't lock. We asked the hotel reception to change our rooms and clean the apartment but they didn't. There was no laundry facilities in the room, the apartment wasn't clean, sinks were blocked and stinking. The pictures are very deceiving as there is no pool on site, no laundry in rooms and poor WIFI. I would never stay there again and I would not recommend any families to stay there again. There was only one burnt pan and one pot for cooking and looking the condition of the apartment we had no choice then to eat outside. The apartment is run down and needs a major maintenance upgrade. Guest were smoking in their balcony and the smell was all over in our units. Not a safe place for families.

NOT a great review unfortunately. No one was there to check us in (which was in the allocated time frame stated). So I had to call them and wait for them to turn up 15mins later. The person who check us in was nice but had no idea what she was doing. She couldn’t find our booking and ended up just checking us in. Not only was it the wrong room but it was dirty and none of the power was on to anything including the fridge. The shower was like standing under a splattering waterfall. The beds were uncomfortable and horrifically loud every time you moved. The washer and dryer was always going under our room which created a consistent hum. There were missing blinds and didn’t close properly so there was minimal privacy from the surrounding houses. Just to top it off the neighbours decided to party all night, screaming, yelling and slamming doors. The only upside to our stay was the view.

I loved the location, straight across the road from the sand dunes and beach. Also a great coffee cart over the road.

First impressions of our room was good.

However, the first night in the double bed was not comfortable. My partner moved to the couch half way through the night, but unfortunately the blinds didn't work so he was awoken by the sun between 5 and 6am.

Second night was better when we removed the electric blanket (wires were very annoying), and put a duvet under the bottom sheet.

Aside from those issues I'd say it's all good as long as you aren't expecting luxury.

We are very unhappy with both rooms that's we've booked.
Both rooms are very dirty. Room5 there were holes on the walls by the front door, hole on the wall by the bedroom on the left. light was broken in the bathroom, and could be poo on the wall... Very disgusting. Tap in the bathroom sink was on the opposite side, turn the hot water on, cold water come out. Turn the cold water on, hot water come out. My son got burn his on hand as he thought it was cold water but the hot water come out. This got to be health and safety issue here..

Internet wasn't working on both rooms. Was told at the checked in it will be fixed with in 2 hours. But it didn't happen. Trying to call the receptions couldn't get hold of anyone all night.

I personally would like a full refund to compensation for all the issues.

One word of advice, don’t book there. Hated it from start to finish, rude manager, fire alarm went off twice 5:30am, then 6:00am, rung manager ‘No reply’ left message still nothing, and no contact with us after reception opened, beds uncomfortable, place very sparse, needs reorganising. Manager needs training in customer service!!! Got a refund and stayed elsewhere - Alpha hotel was perfect!

Very warm and sunny, very clean and close to the beach. Could see the ocean from our balcony, but also the nieghbours back yards.
