Great bed,close to many restaurants,service station,takeaways,bakeries and a friendly little local pub(Baillies).
The room was roomy,also had washing / drying facilities in unit.
Needs a blind on entrance door as the light coming thru was annoying when trying to sleep.

We called the hotel one day prior to our arrival as we were e scheduled to arrive at the hotel at 1am (creceptuon closes at 9pm). The hotel staff kindly kept our room open with the lights on so that we could access the room. The rooms were very clean, spacious, with a functional kitchenette and full laundry facilities. Beds were very comfortable. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Great value for the price and location.

Azena is a very pleasant motel. In good condition, with a large and very comfortable bed. It is close to the Edgeware Shops, which have a great range of useful facilities supplies (restaurants, cafes, a bakery, pharmacy, bottle shop and supermarket). The room is a nice size, and the washing machine and dryer will be really useful for some visitors. There was some confusion around the late check out I had arranged when I checked in, but this was handled with a nice smile.
The supply of plates and cups seems to be getting smaller with each of my visits, but is not yet a problem. I keep forgetting the refrigerator is left switched off and you need to notice and power it up. So that meant warm beer the next day!

Deceptive motel very convenient for Christchurch!

Never judge a book by its cover! As we drew up we were a little apprehensive, but we had no reason to be. The staff were very helpful and sorted out a small problem we had of our own making. Although the accommodation appears a little tired, it was very clean and tidy with all essentials provided and more. There was tea, coffee, chocolate, milk, sugar, cookies, washing up liquid, soap, shampoo and so forth, even a sachet of washing powder! All replenished daily. You have your own washing machine and tumble drier. The room was serviced every day, the bins emptied and clean towels, flannels, tea towels, dishcloths etc provided. What more could you ask for. We would certainly use Azena Motel again and are happy to recommend it.

Staff were pleasant, helpful and unobtrusive. The room itself was all one would expect in the price range, perhaps better than expected. This motel is a little too far to walk to the CBD, but Christchurch is in recovery and the CBD is fairly barren, so the dearth of local amenities (within easy walking distance) was no better further in.

Only a one night stay - arrived in evening and left following morning. Went out to dinner so not a lot of time at hotel. However it felt safe and had good facilities in room.
Room and bathroom of good size so was not cramped at all.
TV was a large size so viewing was also good.

The room size was quite comfortable, however the room and motel is extremely tired and neglected. There's paint peeling from the walls, stains on the doona, carpet in need of a steam clean as it smelt. It seems as if the owners are just interested in having people in the rooms - their sign out the front says they are luxury apartments, but nothing about the room said luxury. The shower was very loud and leaked water around the bathroom. Also not impressed that people can smoke on the balconies - most hotels these days are smoke free premises and our room got full of cigarette smoke as the windows were left open all day when they cleaned it. Value for money was okay, but I think we could do better for $120 a night.

Pleasant One-night stay

Overall it was a pleasant stay. The owner allowed us to check-in by noon after we emailed them so it was great to have the room after a long flight without much sleep onboard. The motel was quiet and within walking distance to the city centre. Checking in and out was easy but you need to be quite independent and not expect too much. The owner was busy when we came so she just left the key on the door. Very trusting. We didn't receive much hospitality but we are okay with it. The milk in the fridge was expired though.

This motel is in a great place. It is close to a supermarket, fuel station, restaurants, bar and bakery. It is on a main thoroughfare to town so traffic can be quite busy. It is close to town. The room was well equipped with cooking facilities and laundry. There were no extra cutlery or crockery for visitors, while annoying not totally inconvenient. As it was a second story room, there was a lovely balcony with table and chairs to take breakfast in the sun.

AZENA MOTELS.

We stayed 8 nights at Azena Motels. The units had everything we needed and were very clean. Our towels were changed every day and the room was very warm. The king size bed was really comfortable. The only problems we had was the shower was Very small and the water pooled on the floor. I mentioned this to the owner and he said it was going to be fixed...his upstairs rooms were fine. Apparently it was due to the earthquakes. Also found the outside parking a pain...very tight trying to maneuver the car. We will definitely come back to stay again but would make sure we have a better shower.

Stayed only one night but concluded it would be a good place to stay longer if necessary because of situation close to city centre and the facilities in the room which included a washing machine and drier. There was some traffic noise with the door to balcony open (it was a warm night and there isn't air conditioning) but it was not intrusive. We think It would be hard to find anywhere offering such good value in the vicinity.

We booked azena because at the time we had no other option with a few major events happening in Christchurch and everything was booked out, after viewing the photos online along with the cheap rate we were expecting a dive, so it was a pleasure to turn up to a modern, clean, friendly staffed motel. Bed was comfortable. Kitchen has everything you need aswell as a washing machine and dryer in the bathroom. Close to the CBD with a few shops including a supermarket, bar and 24 hour bp (that does a good Thai chicken pie at 2am) within 2 minutes walking distance. We checked out at 10.30 which wasn't an issue. Only downfall I can think of was no air con but there was a heater available. Would absolutely stay here again

We arrived early in the afternoon and requested a ground floor room due to having lots of luggage. We were assigned a great room at the back of the property that met all our needs during our stay. Clean, comfortable, and with all the comforts and amenities of home. There was even a washer and dryer in the bathroom, along with packet of soap to do laundry! Small kitchen was very handy, and we also used the iron and ironing board. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We had to leave lots of expensive luggage items in the room during the day and felt everything was safe and secure even with the cleaning staff coming in. Gotta love this place!

We picked this hotel as it is a reasonably short drive to the Christchurch International Airport, but not too expensive. The hotel was very well priced and the room that we booked was actually more of an apartment, including both washer/dryer as well as a small kitchenette with stovetop and fridge. Late check-in was easy. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
