The glass coffee table in our room broke when we put a plate on it. We told them about it, and felt that due to it breaking when we simply placed a plate on it meant that there must have been some previous damage, or perhaps the glass was not sitting flat, we didn't feel it was our fault at all. The plate didnt break, the glass just snapped in half.
I told them that we weren't comfortable paying for this, that if we had broken the table due to being careless or using extreme force then of course we would accept responsibility but in this instance we felt the responsibility to get it fixed was theirs.
Four days later, they charged my partners card almost $200. Not only was it unacceptable for a charge to be made without our authorisation, but my partners card was not even the one that we used to book and pay, nor was it the card we used as security.
So not only has Salerno taken a payment without our approval, they've somehow managed to get my partners card details too. The only time his card was used during the stay was when we paid $10 by EFTPOS for an extra room key. Salerno should not be holding card details without permission or taking payments while a dispute is still in process.

This was an awesome Motel with a cafe with excellent coffee and breakfast just a 30 second walk away, named Affogato.
The motel was ashort walk into town so great access and no parking concerns, leaving our car parked at the motel.

Spacious and clean. Near busy road though and traffic can be heard at night time. If you’re a light sleeper I’d try somewhere else. After midnight it becomes quiet though until morning rush hour. It was good value for money though. Laundry with washer and dryer on the premises. $5 per wash and $5 per dryer which I think is a little bit excessive.

We arrived later than expected due to TranzAlpine arriving late. With absolutely no warning Reception closed immediately after we checked in and there was no information regarding where to eat so we had to walk through the town to find something. It was Sunday and most places were closed. We ended up in the only place we could find open which was an Irish bar - not what we were looking for at all.

Nothing the managers could do on their part just a very noisy night. Maybe some earplugs on the bedside cabinet would be a good cheap touch.....
