This was a delightful stay, and we’d be glad to revisit on our next trip to London. Having been renovated just a few years ago, the hotel and the rooms are spotless. The bed is perfectly comfortable. Who doesn’t love a heated floor in the bathroom? All the staff we encountered were friendly and professional. The Dandy Bar serves up excellent cocktails, and we enjoyed the buffet breakfast twice. We loved the location too – Mayfair can be quite posh and expensive, but it’s conveniently located near a tube station, bus stops, parks, and more. We highly recommend The Mayfair Townhouse!

Our initial room was far too small but after making the request we were moved to a suitable room - akin to the one in the photo at time of booking.

Overall, the rooms were average with a nice medium firm bed. A smart tv that didn’t work properly, very dated furniture, and cleanliness that could be improved were disappointments.

We liked that snacks and drinks in the mini bar were complimentary but staff failed to replenish them daily.

The bathroom was far too small with no counter space but a very good shower.

The hotel was quiet and in a good location.

We asked for an upgrade, was not offered and not given. It has been one of the worst checkin experiences..waiting 3 hours solid until 3 pm ! and not getting the room you were promised as an upgrade..I wanted to talk to the manager, they said they can give the email. I d say, Be careful with the staff of this hotel. They say one thing and another thing happens. Likewise, on the return to airport, we were told by staff a fixed price by cab to heathrow, we accepted and cab driver asked 10 pounds more... it explains our experience in broad !

The room was nice, the bar was nice and check in was smooth. The issue was we booked a room with breakfast included but were told we would have to pay for breakfast. We showed our booking clearly stated breakfast was included and the hotel said that is a mistake with the booking company, it is an issue they see a lot. They said if we wanted breakfast we’d each have to pay for it and take it up with the booking company. That is not helpful - it basically says we’re not going to help you even though you’ve done nothing wrong and we are going to make a problem between the hotel and Expedia/hotels.com the problem of the customer. Not 5 star service or anywhere close to it. Very disappointing.

Third time staying here and most likely the last. First time we had a room overlooking Half Moon Street which was surprisingly quiet and an excellent experience. 2nd time we were given a room at the back near the elevator (211?) and this suffered from mild construction noise and a faint rumble from the underground. Third time we specifically requested a room at the front however the gentlemen checking us in had no idea where the allocated room was. The lady assisting stated that they didn't know if there would be such a room but the one allocated would be lovely and quiet. She'd obviously never been in room 31 as it appears to be directly above the Jubilee Line. From just before 6am to nearly midnight there is an intrusive \"rumble, rumble, rumble\" every 2-3 minutes as a train passes underneath. As it doesn't seem possible to choose where your room is and the underground noise is ever present it looks like we'll have to start looking for another Mayfair option.

Additionally, we booked the B&B rate via hotels.com however the hotel stated that there had been a mistake by hotels.com and this one not the case (across all Black Friday deals). This is fair enough but I'd have expected better than \"not our problem, you'll need to take it up with them\" from the check in staff (as it was a known problem). Both hotels.com and the venue to blame here.

This boutique hotel offers excellent value in a prime location in Mayfair, just off Picadilly across from Green Park.
There is a comfortable bar/restaurant located just off the reception area that is open late ( a rarity it seems in London) that offers food and drinks from breakfast through late evening. Service in the bar was uneven throughout our 5 night stay.
The hotel is made up of a number of historic renovated townhouses which have been joined together. Anyone with mobility issues will want to request a room near the elevators as there are a couple or more steps in the hallways between the conjoined houses.
I had requested a room with lots of windows and natural light. That is precisely what I got with a room at the front of the hotel with a wall of windows.
The nicely furnished room was spotless with top quality linens and towels and a very comfortable bed. The complimentary minibar with snacks, juice and soft drinks was a very nice touch. Bottles of water were provided daily.
The hotel was quick to respond to issues with our telephone and room temperature.
The bathroom was small and short on storage space.

Good location, nice room & decor, but didn't feel like a premium hotel so was overpriced for what it was.

Complimentary minibar and snacks was good, but note there is no alcoholic drinks.

Shower was scolding hot even on minimum temp - to the point where it was a safety issue. Was told on enquiry that it was a Thames Water issue. I felt that they should've issued a safety warning to all rooms.

Someone had vomitted in one of the lifts. We had trouble calling the second lift. Took a good 10-15 mins to finally get upstairs. Cleaning staff were alerted but it seemed to take a long time to address the issue.

Would choose to stay elsewhere next time.

I stay in London most weeks and this is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. The service was appalling, pretentious even. Couldn’t get served when I had a business client with me at the bar ( the bar was virtually empty), but when we stood up to leave, the waitress sped over with the bill. My client looked at me in disbelief. My room booking (for £455 a night) included breakfast. But I was challenged at reception and the concierge had to ring a manager, who asked for him to take a photo of my phone with the booking confirmation to PROVE that breakfast was included. Then he proceeded to tell me they’re having a lot of problems like this with Expedia bookings! Then why challenge me as if I’m lying? Honestly, the worst service I have ever had in any hotel, never mind a supposed luxury one. PS it wasn’t the concierge fault…he was merely doing what his manageress was instructing him over the phone. Terrible!

I booked this hotel for a special birthday surprise for my boyfriend, and unfortunately the entire experience was one disappointment after another. From the moment we arrived, the service was disorganized and unprofessional.

There was a reservation mix-up on the hotel’s end, not ours, yet we were made to wait more than an hour in the lobby with no clear communication. Instead of offering any form of compensation or upgrade for the inconvenience, the hotel actually downgraded us to a smaller room for the first night — and we never received the price difference back.

The room itself was far below five-star standards. The window was extremely dirty, and even after asking twice for it to be cleaned (and being repeatedly told it would be taken care of), nothing ever happened.

To make matters worse, when we checked out, they never provided us with an invoice. I have now emailed them three times, and still no response. This level of inefficiency and lack of basic service is shocking for a hotel that advertises itself as luxury.

Overall, the quality of the hotel and the staff was far below what you would expect from a five-star property. The reception team was unhelpful, unprofessional, and seemed unable to resolve even simple issues.
I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it.

Breakfast was basic. Not everyone wants an English breakfast. Had breakfast for one morning there and I went out after that. Limited options.
SOME staff members were nice.
The room felt claustrophobic and the hallways to the rooms are narrow.
There is nothing exceptional about the hotel, nowhere to go inside the hotel. My room windows were low, it felt like I was in the attic. It had two windows but I had to have the room lights on the whole time, I would be walking into the furniture otherwise.
The limited daylight of November was never utilised and that really stuck out for me.
There were too many little things that added up to make my stay a forgettable experience.

Staff were courteous but not friendly and guests treated very much as income producers. Very expensive at £600 per night but room was small and outlook very poor. On day 3 we returned to the room at 3.45pm to find that it still had not been made up even though checkins began at 3pm and we were forced to go for coffee until 4.30pm. No apology, merely a \"we are busy\". The doorman was rarely in evidence and other staff just watched us struggle with luggage. In essence a second rate hotel at first rate prices. Many nearby hotels offer much better value

I’ll start with the only criticism — our room was very small, even though it was billed as “Deluxe”. There was barely enough room for the king bed + two suitcases. On the other hand, the location is truly outstanding, the staff were great, and the room and bathroom were both beautifully done and very clean. The bed was perfect — very comfortable with very high quality linens. Breakfast was excellent. We would definitely stay there again, but would try to arrange a larger room (how, I do not know).
