We really enjoyed staying at Sudima Hotel in Christchurch. The hotel is only a few blocks from the expansive Hagley Park where I enjoyed running and walking. The staff was very friendly, attentive and informative. The attached restaurant, Lane, was excellent for dinner and our morning coffee. We did use the freely available Total Fitness Gym which was within two blocks of the hotel and this offered more than the standard hotel gym. The rooms were modern and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel while staying in Christchurch.

Clean rooms, great decor/design and facilities within the room. The usual kettle, iron, hairdryer but also the facilities to make basic meals if needed. Overall a very relaxing place, lovely friendly staff. The hotel exudes style, competence and professionalism. Breakfast was very tasty and plentiful despite the slightly compact restaurant space. City centre walkable within 10 mins and plenty of fantastic eateries for dinner nearby.

I would have preferred if on-site parking was free and if the attached restaurant had a more efficient kitchen.

Room spotless bed and sheets nice. Welcome was fabulous because the staff member was very warm and personable great sense of humour. I would have given the hotel 5 stars but it was upon leaving.. yes I was hungover (my hens night) but I had a lot of stuff to carry and two staff members could see that.. I just felt like helping me with my belongings was an after thought. I asked for help and got it in the end but it felt a little awkward because clearly I was struggling. All in all it was a good stay! Loved that valet parking! Was soo good on that rainy weekend!

Very modern and clean room, amazing staff working across various departments of the hotel also, super friendly and efficient.

We had Christmas dinner at the Lane restaurant on site and it was absolutely fantastic. I couldn’t recommend it higher.

The bed was enormous and very comfy and the bathroom was gorgeous. Very central location which was great to get about the beautiful city too

If you’re looking for a fully equipped self catering apartment this is more of a hotel style, and we found cooking was a bit tricky in the room, fine for a quick meal but not a full kitchen

From the first hello by the staff, we were hooked. We loved everything about this hotel mostly the spaciousness of the room well equipped for room service and a bit of cooking. The room was super modern and sparkling clean.
The restaurant a bit small and a tad noisy but the food and service more than made up for it. Pricing a little high for the food but this felt like an upscale hotel in the very best way.
Also great that we were not too far from downtown with excellent bus service there and to the airport.

Staff was there to welcome us and carry the luggage though we arrived past midnight. One of the best welcome we experienced during our travel.
The staff (Ameerah) was very warm and helpful in giving us suggestions and tips for seeing around.
Dinner was outstanding . Will definitely stay with Sudima again!

This hotel has a free guest laundry that's really efficient after a tour. There is a small kitchen if you happen too lazy to go out for dinner because of too cold outside.

One of the best hotels we have stayed at. The main reason was the hotel’s awesome staff member, Sam. From the moment we arrived he took extremely good care of us. He swept our luggage up to our room where we found it neatly ready for us. He offered very helpful recommendations on things to do, and clear and concise directions to get to our destinations. On the morning of our departure he even did our laundry for us so we were able to enjoy a relaxed breakfast. Finally he kindly and efficiently stored our luggage so we could see a few final local attractions before our flight. Thank you to Sam for making this truly a 5 star experience.

Hotel is extremely clean and staff amazing...super friendly and incredibly obliging. Great having kitchen facilities (we were there for 3 nights so it comes in handy having the use of utensils, wine glasses etc. Everything is quality...also great to be able to have Netflix. My only issue was (as we were there for 3 nights), it would've been nice to have a clearer view out of the windows instead into the wall of another building so that we could have our curtains open more.
If we'd asked they probably would've moved us...but hey, I didn't so my bag. We love the place and will definitely be staying again.

Perfectly fine for business travellers, not great for couple on tour with two large bags. Room was small and had only one comfortable place to sit. Good location with many places to eat nearby and CBD a 12 min walk. My VIP status was not acknowledged at checkin, but this seems common in NZ hotels in the hotels.com listings. None have done so, and this includes about 10 different places. Biggest problem was a family near our room which allowed their children to play loudly in the hall. Not hotels fault, but be aware this not a very relaxing hotel.

We had a wonderful and comfortable stay in Sudima Christchurch City Hotel. The neighbourhood is quiet and there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel, making it easy for us to move around as we don't drive. It is walkable to the bus interchange and the shopping areas and eateries. Kudos to the reception team for going out of their way to locate the penguin plushy that was mistakenly taken by the housekeeping team. Thank you Sudam, Suzy and Sam for keeping me updated even after we left the hotel and courier the found penguin to our next hotel in Queenstown. Exceptional service and we will be definitely stay at Sudima again if we return to Christchurch for vaxation.
