Room was filthy have taken photos if needed. Stains on carpet, dirty walls, holes in wall in toilet, picture in toilet fell off the wall nearly hitting one of my children. Electrical plugs in kitchen sticky and dirty. Coffee cups dirty in the cupboard. Blinds dirty in bathroom. People staying in room above us partied until 2am very loud. Not a great stay away from home unfortunately. Wouldn’t recommend.

A bit run down and in need of some updating. The beds are really hard, the parking is difficult with very little space, wardrobe doors that don't stay closed, and there is no soap dish in the shower! Lots of paint scrapes on the walls & milk wasn't replenished all weekend. The place just needs a bit of money put towards better presentation, especially given the area it's in.

Good location let down by lack of maintenance

Pros: good location, traffic noise not too loud, beds reasonably comfortable. Cons: Very much not cleaned regularly or properly, ants in kitchen, toilet not cleaned. Nowhere near enough power points, staff difficult to find even during opening hours. It seems like this place has been gradually falling into disrepair and the kitchen was well overdue a remodel with broken cupboards and lots of grime everywhere. I would probably have been a lot more happy with this place if it was a ‘you get what you pay for’ deal but it was substantially more expensive than a much cleaner and more spacious motel just down the road which we also stayed at. Would not recommend unfortunately.

I liked that it was clean and tidy. Nice for a relaxing weekend. And the staff member we dealt with was amazing. Although the car parking was not ideal as everytime others came in we had to move our car a number of times then other cars would take our car park. Also another complaint we had was that the wifi turned off around 6pm each night. We're were not happy having to hot spot the children on their phones. Then it would come back on in the morning but always off at 6pm.

Dirty in most areas with spider webs in bathroom, toilet and shower. Told to park anywhere but then asked to move as designated parking despite opposite being stayed in welcome sheet and on website. Had to phone several times to get someone for check in as office unattended and was after 2pm. Single bed mattress on a lean with springs being felt. POSITIVE NOTE received a fan as no air con and 30 degrees.

Very budget accommodation tho.
Light in room was making noises so had to remove the bulb. Floor and couches were stained and just gave a dirty feel making me not enjoy my stay.

The room was not ready when I arrived they said to come back in a couple of hours so I did, then it still wasn't ready and told me to come back in an hour, an hour and a half later it was finally ready.

There was someone's hair all over the shower wall. The pillows were like thin concrete blocks and killed my neck. There is no one on-site to help out in the mornings.

This property needs a reno as its very outdated with old furniture and amenities and the room didn't feel clean. Had trouble finding a plug to charge our phones.
When we checked in the girl said sorry our room doesn't have net curtains they were stolen by the previous occupants!! So had to keep the curtains closed the entire time as unit overlooked driveway and other guests walking past. Felt unsafe for the remainder of our stay.
Would not recommend this hotel.

You had to wash dishes in the hand basin where you brushed your teeth. There was no dish towels or dish washing up liquid. As a result the face cloth had to be used as well as the hand towel. NOT SANITARY. The sliding door was difficult to lock. Felt like it was a store room conversion because the other rooms were different . Don’t offer good rates if you don’t provide decent rooms or at least make customers aware.

really disappointed, property looks nothing like the photos, really needs a tidy up, carpets were filthy I was scared to walk on them in bare feet.
Manager knocked on my door at 5pm and said the builder was here and would like to install a lock box on the outside of the door, surely this could have been done between reservations??
Location was great, very close to the mall and restaurants just a shame it was so dirty.

A no-frills, comfortable and functional venue.

Unpretentious and functional. It did what it said on the tin without frills. Close enough to the city centre to facilitate exploration. A very reasonable mid-budget experience (not perfect but very acceptable). I spent 2 nights pending departure from CHC; enough to see the sights and enjoy the atmosphere. A smaller than usual establishment, friendly personable staff, clean and tidy but a little bit jaded/tired. Comfortable and pleasant, without frills. Good value for the money.

I had real problems with internet access, but the receptionist was most helpful in sorting them out.

Facilities were ok, but very basic.
On arrival it took too long to get a response when I pushed the bell in the office. That was also the only time I saw a member of staff. When I left two days later at 7.55 am the office was still locked and I could not find a box to put the key in so left it in the unit on the table.
In the unit the light above the table did not work. The extractor in the bathroom did not work. The glasses in the cupboard were not clean - greasy fingerprints all over. I decided to wash whatever I needed to use first.

Couldn't check in at 2pm as room wasn't ready. Had booked a 2 bedroom unit with a queen and 2 singles, only to find 2 queens when we got into the room.
I asked why we didn't have what I booked, to be told guests in that room had extended their stay. Not impressed. Was offered a rollaway bed or pull out couch.

Property is acceptable, moderately comfortable and clean. Decor is dated. I found wifi service to be of generally unacceptable quality, with long periods where no connectivity was possible. I view reliable and fast wifi service (and with NZ's infrastructure there seems no credible reason for this to be unavailable) as such a basic requirement these days that to find it of poor quality at an accommodation property inclines my overall rating to \"do not recommend\".

Fresh paint doesn't hide the dated facilities and fit out. Kitchen cupboards with contact on shelves. Stippled ceilings. Painted wallpaper and mildew down both corners in toilet. Linen change every 3 days but no towel rail to hang towels. 4.0 rating. Who is kidding who?!!

Rooms a little tired, but hey we didn’t go to CHC to sit in a motel room all day! Handy to ever6 thing, Merivale Mall 1 minute up the road, lots of bars and res5aurants handy.
Good value, would be happy to stay there again!

We were put into unit 6 Studio Unit which had mould covering the ceiling and walls in the toilet and bathroom and on closer inspection, the mould was crawling with mites of somesort. There was also mould in the kitchen and the Studio Unit also smelled of paint, not sure what had been painted as it was very dirty and mouldy. It was very disgusting THIS ENVIRONMENT COULD MAKE SOMEONE VERY VERY SICK!!! We demanded another unit and that unit was better however there was no cloths for washing or drying dishes and room service was all less than minimal. The little amount of dishes that I used were left on the bench to dry, the used towels were not replaced. Flat batteries in the TV remotes didn't help either.

We booked this hotel for a one night stay after our midnight arriving flight from Brisbane. We pretty much arrived to find our room ready for us as planned and had a nice restful sleep before our drive to Blenheim. Although quite basic, the room was more than adequate for our needs and clean. Appreciated that the owner/manager had the room available for us to check in after midnight without any issue. Thank you!

Won't Be Staying Again

I had room 9. It had a moldy shower, a bathroom door which wouldn't shut without locking, and a vanity in the bedroom/living area. There was also a huge slug in the shower. The room seems to be an after thought, jammed between the office and laundry. I was not provided with any login details for Wifi, and the office was closed by the time I needed it. On check out, the office was locked with no way to leave a key for them or bell to gain attention (at 8:45am). It was stuffy and has a lot of road noise, so you either need to like the heat or noise.
