All APA hotel rooms are horrible small. This one smelled horribly like cigarettes smoke. I had to freeze and keep my window open all night otherwise my room would be filled with other ppl smoking their rooms. I couldn’t move around hardly had enough room for my suitcases. The “restaurant” was never staffed and the food I would not waste my money on. Good part: train station is close, McDonald’s, Lawsens and other stores. Honestly not worth the price tho.

Safe n comfortable but traveling inconvenient.

Once out of the station Itabashi, turn right use the slope access get out n the hotel is on the right. Check in was less than pleasant due to the to n fro in providing a valid home address. Room was facing the tracks so noise was evident the whole day. Window can be opened which was a relief as the aircon was barely noticeable. Bed was soft but sloped, maybe due to long use, but with good pillows. The area is residential and does not have much sight seeing spots, the train from Saikyo line is always packed which is quite intimidating.

Unacceptable Room Conditions - Avoid This Hotel

I booked a stay at the APA Hotel Tokyo Itabashi Ekimae through Expedia, and my experience was extremely disappointing. On the first night of my stay, the room I was provided had a completely non-functioning air conditioning system, and the windows were unable to be opened to allow for proper airflow.

The room was uncomfortably hot and stuffy, making it nearly impossible for me to get any rest after my long flight. When I immediately requested to be moved to a different room, the hotel management refused, forcing me to endure the unacceptable conditions for the entire night.

I would strongly advise anyone considering a stay at this hotel to look elsewhere. The lack of response and accommodation from the hotel management, as well as Expedia's inability to resolve the issue, was extremely disappointing. This experience has left me with no confidence in the quality or customer service at the APA Hotel Tokyo Itabashi Ekimae.

Great location, 30 second walk to subway, Ikebukoro is one stop away. Itabashi its self has lots of places to eat and drink. Hotel is clean, friendly staff, its quiet. We have stayed in Apa hotels before and had breakfast included however, this Apa has an Indian restaurant attached so we did not have breakfast at the hotel. Nothing against Indian food I just dont want a Vindaloo at 8am.

The train station is about a two-minute walk from the hotel. The staff at the hotel is incredibly kind and accommodating. As expected, the room is compact but well-kept. It's a good thing that they are overly strict. It was unfortunate, though, that they refused to allow my cake to be delivered to the lobby on my birthday. Despite my room number and full name being provided, my best friend gave me a cake that they didn't want to be delivered.

I stay here every time I'm in Tokyo. The location is so close and convenient to the places I hang out at, Shibuya, Ikebukuro, Shinjuku. It's so convenient to have a hotel right beside the train station especially at the end of the day when my feet are sore and don't feel like walking any more. Always great service as well.

This was my second time coming here!!! Once again I had a wonderful experience! The staff were great and helpful! The room was clean! I had no problems whatsoever here. This is a very convenient location since it's right next to the JR Itabashi Station. From there you can get anywhere around Tokyo. Only a few stops from Shibuya, Shinjuku, Harajuku. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants which close very late which is very convenient when your feeling hungry at night time. If you wanted to explore on foot, you will find that Ikebukuro is only a 20 minute walk. If you wanted to stay around the nearby famous tourist destinations of Tokyo, I recommend You book here! The price is great! I hope to return once again when I visit Japan! Thank you for the hospitality APA Itabashi!

My stay was ok, mcdonalds and family mart 2 minutes away, subway 1 minute away, what I didn't like was the arangement of the room, bed could have been placed backwards and tv could have been placed at the foot of the bed, also the walls need some touchups, overall was ok.

The room was extremely small, but apparently that’s just how the rooms are in Tokyo. I knew it would be small before I got there - from reading all the other blogs. There are no drawers so you have to keep your things very organized and neat to conserve what space there is in the room. The hotel itself is literally next to the JR train line. That was perfect! As on as you get off at the Itabashi station the hotel is right there, not even a minute walk. The staff was very pleasant and spoke some English. When I asked general questions they tried to be as helpful as they could. Great hotel for access to the trains and a convenience store is right next to the hotel along with a McDonald’s and several restaurants! Overall it was a good place to stay.

I love the fact that the station is only 20 minutes away walking distance from Shibuya, Shinjuku, and I love that the JR Itabashi station is next to the hotel, very convenient to travel around Tokyo! Couple min walk to station. Quiet area, but one train stop away from ikebukero, a large hub which includes the express train to the Narita airport. Minutes walk from: 2 smaller convenience stores, 2 large supermarket (Maruetsu, York Mart), McDonald's, great Japanese/ Italian fusion restaurant (across the street), various Izakaya spots.

Apa hotel, beds are comfortable, breakfast was good and reasonably priced for the items offered. Daily room service was spot on.

I highly recommend, if you are planning a trip in Tokyo and the surrounding areas.

If room space is a priority, I do not recommend. We had two large suitcases, two smaller carry on luggages and two backpacks, the was space was adequate.

Nice safe area and there is even a police station next to the station.

Conveniently Located Hotel

APA Itabashi is about as stereotypical a Japanese hotel experience that you can have. In general that’s a good thing. The hotel is close to every amenity that you could need and if said amenity doesn’t exist close to the hotel you are literally a minute away from the JR station to take you to what you need. The staff is courteous and speaks enough English to help you. The rooms are clean and well kept. Plus everything you could reasonably need is provided free ( toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, razor, Q-tips, hair dryer, body wash, shampoo, conditioner etc) at a mid level of quality but again free.
However the stereotype of a Japanese hotel at this level is that your room would be small and APA Itabashi is no exception. The rooms are small. Very small. Of all my trips to Japan this was the the smallest room I’ve had yet. However this is Japan, specifically Tokyo. Space is at a premium. If you expect North American size at this low of a cost in Tokyo you really know nothing about this city. If you want more space you’re gonna pay much more than this hotel is asking. So as long you have proper expectations this hotel is great and I highly recommend it.

A brief journey to itabashi

Was a good stay the beds were not the best and were very low in the middle so no back support. The room I was in for 16 nights didn’t even have a tiny closet to put my clothes in had to hang suits from the wall. Barely had enough room to put two suitcases in. The rest was pretty standard for a cheap Japanese hotel. People were amazing and cleaners were super nice and understanding. Wouldn’t be my first choice for a hotel at least not this one. Stayed in other apa hotels which were much better.

Staff spoke little Japanese and we have hard time help to book our transport for airport shuttle to Narita airport
We asked for twin beds and got two single beds joined together that took up all the space in a tiny room.
We had included breakfast but it was nothing appealing mainly cold dishes. Since we had to leave hotel before 6:15am to catch the airport shuttle bus, we asked for take-away packed breakfast but they said no, and would not agree to refund the breakfast money. They said it's Sunday and breakfast starts at 7am. I appealed to the assistant manager and she said no refund.

A little bit run down hotel very close to the station. The room had some general wear-and-tear marks, but overall clean and well worth the reasonable price. The front desk staff did not speak English, so I had to wait in the lobby until my partner (who speaks Japanese) arrived before I could check in, even though the reservation was in my name, and prepaid with my own credit card. Room standard is not quite on par with other APA hotels in Tokyo, but it is priced accordingly, so if you're just looking for a place to stay the night, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The location is convenient, one stop from Ikebukuro. It's very close to the station as well. The hotel is a bit older, but all the basic amenities were there. No independent climate control in the room, just those off/low/mid/high unit thats connected to the whole hotel, so depending on the time of year it will be set to heat or cool. It was set to heat, but it was a little too warm in the room, so we opened the window.

Staff were friendly, and spoke functional English, although I did the whole process in Japanese. The hotel does not provide Irons, however there is a pant press you can use in the hallway.

Nothing special, but the basics were there and the location is good if you're going to be around the Ikebukuro area.
