I only stayed for one day, but I had an amazing experience! Room was spotless and luxurious. Beautiful sunrise view. Lovely beach, not crowded at all even in the high season. Staff at the front desk and staff at water sports were exceptional!

Lux* South Ari is a great choice for a vacation in the Maldives. The island is beautiful, great facilities, excellent service. I’d definitely recommend the all inclusive option (def worth the money and offers many options). They offer many activities and the spa is fantastic. The Lux Cafe is also a great touch. I’ve tried both the beach villas and the over water villas and you def can’t go wrong with either.

We had an amazing time on this beautiful island. The place is amazing but the staff really make it stand out. Everyone is so friendly and so good with the children. The wonderful and ever smiling mophiso even carried my feverish daughter to my bungalow one night. We hope we can come back soon

Excellent property all around. Plenty of food options. I’d definitely recommend the all inclusive deal. Lots of activities for couples and families. Fantastic staff and customer service all around. The island in itself is gorgeous. It’s about 2 km long with a sand bar at low tide that connects it to a neighboring local island (although crossing over is not allowed). Very walkable and they offer club cars and bikes if you prefer not to walk. Diving center and water sports facilities on premises. Highly recommended.

The only reason I dropped one star overall is that I felt the food and drinks were very overpriced considering the good but not excellent quality. We were stunned by the buffet cost considering we are not big eaters.

Lux South ari atoll exceeded my expectations in every way. We initially booked because we knew it was near an area where whale sharks are frequently encountered and we wanted an overwater villa with an infinity pool. We booked through hotels.com/Expedia where I have gold status- we received an upgraded villa (from romance to temptation villa) and 20% off of spa services. We also received several branded gifts from the hotel- a caftan, hat, fan, bracelet. The attention to detail was phenomenal- staff knew our itinerary (moving on to a dive liveaboard after the hotel, time and location we needed to be to meet the boat, etc). We were given a concierge at check in which allowed us to communicate via WhatsApp with her the length of the stay.

The room:
We arrived early (before check in) and our room wasn’t ready yet, so we were assigned a room that we could stay in while waiting for ours to be cleaned. This was on the main island and we thought it was nice overall- it had a very cute private outdoor shower and tub and the decor was nice. When we were brought to our new room, the temptation villa, it was completely unbelievable. There was a sitting area with a cut out in the floor where we could watch the fish swim under the villa. We had the all inclusive package - so the mini bar was included which consisted of various juices and sodas, a bottle of gin and vodka, a bottle of red and white wine, and snacks. The bathroom was MUCH upgraded from the other standard room.

The all inclusive option is well worth it and the food/drinks are great. I’d highly recommend this property if you’re considering a visit to the Maldives.

The property is AMAZING. Our room (the Water Villa) was the most beautiful room I have ever stayed in and I honestly could have stayed in the room the whole time and been happy. Every single restaurant is incredible and delicious. If you just want to eat and relax you'll be in heaven.
However if you want activities- the resort also has those. In 5 days I still didn't have enough time to do all I wanted. A lot of the activities overlap which can make it a bit difficult to get to everything. But they are very worth it.
The staff is friendly and kind. Special shout outs to Allan the chef, Mofezul the driver, and the marine biologists whose names I forgot. My one complaint is there was a fair bit of miscommunication. I had booked several activities prior to my trip and found that most werent done when I got there. Multiple times staff seemed to be confused on what restaurants were open. We actually gave up the 1st night and just got room service after being taken to 2 closed restaurant. Our honeymoon arrangements werent done though they did get to it later in the week. Because of some cancellations due to poor weather (not the resorts fault of course) I was not able to do manta ray snorkeling or see a manta ray which bummed me out. I must have talked to 3 separate staff members about this. Then as I was waiting for the seaplane to leave the resort, a staff member told me they come to the dock most nights and staff could text me to come see them! That would have been nice to know.

Give more water to guests

I am very pleased with the staff,they are friendly,helpful,greetings are superb. The island itself is spectacular. Food can be more varieties,but the easter feast and thai night was great.

The only thing i could bring up about is the drinking water.
We only get 2 bottles(2L)of water daily for three of us and it was boiling hot there every day.
I would say a room should have at least 4 bottles of water each day( provided that all the outdoor walks/ cycling makes u dehydrated,activities and all the walks from wAter villa to reception/beach.

I really dont understand water is so basic to a 5star hotel but its so hard to get.

One morning i called room service to get me 2 bottles of water and i waited for an hour. No one came so i walk to the housekeeping kiosk myself and ask for water there from staff.

Water is so very minimal basic in such hot place

Also,one morning we hire kayak
So i expect to have water at reception or watersports centre or even the lagoon bar, but they dont provide.
Reception said they dont have, cafe Lux said they dont have, lagoon bar said they dont have and at last we begged the water sports centre for water. How bad it feels that i need to beg for water there as im with a kid.

Everything was good except i think they need more water stations for guests.

That tiny 5litre water dispenser at the beach/ reception with some fruit inside is always drank up/ empty.

There should be more water stations on the island.

Incredibly property - highly recommend!

We stayed at LUX* South Ari Atoll for seven nights on the second/last leg our honeymoon, and it was absolutely wonderful. The property is vast, very well maintained and groomed. The staff was incredibly hospitable and kind, so professional and helpful. Our overwater villa was amazing, so big and designed intentionally with lots of great little details. The food was excellent, there were so many options (highly recommend all-inclusive, not much red tape at all). The spa experience was immaculate (we went a few times). There are so many fun activities and events around the island at all times. Sometimes this stuff is cheesy at certain resorts, but it wasn't here. We played beachside chess, pool, used the gym, played tennis, paddle-boarded, never got to the bocci or badminton courts - there is more than enough to do. The shuttles run up and down the island constantly so it's easy to get around, but we preferred the walking path - everything is stunning.

Our favorite part was the staff, everyone was SO great. This trip has a special place in our hearts and we look forward to brining our family back one day. We cannot recommend this property enough, we would stay there again in a heartbeat.

My stay was the most spectacular, Food, Scenery, Cleanliness, Hospitality, and staff were well above and beyond. From the dock greeting with warm welcomes and best wishes, EVERY SINGLE PERSON on staff made me feel at home as well as VIP. I wish I could give an 8-star review but 5 is the limit. Great amenities or if you just want a lazy day it works out great as well, I think I found a new happy place.

My wife and I needed a well deserved holiday and Lux South Ari Atoll did not disappoint. From the time we arrived until the moment we left it felt like paradise. The weather was perfect even though we went off season. The staff was gracious, courteous and helpful. The food at each establishment was good; some better than others depending on your preference. Our villa was amazing. It was a birthday and wedding anniversary week and they completely were attentive to each occasion. I left with no regrets.

There was some confusion regarding rooms initially due to some overbooking, but they quickly sorted that out and gave us a free upgrade to their best villa - temptation pool villa since it was my birthday which was a very nice gesture. Good amount of water activities at this location. I would highly recommend anyone to stay at this place.

I think I almost cried while checking out of this place. Truly, one of the most beautiful locations with 5 star service. The only regret I have is not booking more nights here. The location is stunning, the most beautiful blue waters I’ve ever seen. Every single item of food we had was outstanding!!! Do the all inclusive package, it is SUPER worth it. The island is a dream location, but the staff are what make this place so great. Inthi, Mohammed, Aladdin, our driver from Bangladesh whose name I can’t remember, just to name a few… of the people who made our stay so special. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Amazing facility, excellent cleanliness, tasty food & friendly co-operative staff, but a bit of mismanagement in lunch & dinner Table reservations.

Staying in Water-Villas is one of it’s own kind of experience.

Cleanliness is excellent, but price-tag for everything is over the roof.

You can get similar service @ half the prices in many parts of the world.

Secondly, after paying so much, you are expected to wait indefinitely for lunch, as the management does not reserve tables during lunch time & the popular restaurants don’t have enough tables to accommodate all.

The good part is at least you can reserve a table for Dinner.

The view around the resort is breathtaking !

I went to this resort specifically to have a nice place to relax with beautiful views after diving. I actually went to Maldives to dive and heard great things about euro divers. I was more than disappointed with Sandrine who was rude and unhelpful. My billing was incorrect when I got there. The villa was beautiful and spacious and well appointed. It does take quite a bit of time to get from one side to the other and as a result you can rent a bike (for a fee of course) or wait for the golf cart shuttle. After a rough start the first day, I was looking forward to the next day being a fresh start... my breakfast was wrong so I sent it back. Ended up going diving and also found out none of the preprogrammed extensions worked on the phone in my villa. I had a lot of issues that I didn’t have in hotels that were 3*. Mr Mamoun met with me personally and expressed his sincere apologies. He took a genuine interest in getting feedback and wondering what may have been communicated better or how to improve the process. He makes it a point to greet guests personally and is very involved in the day to day operations. There’s quite a bit to see and do there but overall, I didn’t experience them because I had gone there specifically to dive with EuroDivers (which I don’t think I would ever do again). I would consider going back to Lux* to see if I would have a different experience in general. The bill was wrong when I checked out but they fixed it quickly.

Lux was amazing!!! The staff was incredible and Inthi was our butler and he responded to everything we needed. There were manta rays and black tip sharks that came up to the pier every night. The island is a 30-40 minute walk from one end to the other but Lux had complimentary carts driving back and forth all day so you could catch a ride to anywhere you wanted to go. They also hide bottles along the path way that have prizes in them. The dive center was incredible and I did some of my favorite dives here. I saw lion fish, mantarays, stingrays, sharks, puffer fish, sea turtles, tuna and many other small fish. The rooms had USB plug ins which was great in case you forgot the Maldives adapter. My only complaint was the food was very expensive. A burger was $34 a steak $55 and our dinner buffet for 2 people was $240. The food was good but very overpriced. I’m sure any resorts out here are priced the same. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone wanting to get away and enjoy the beautiful clear water!

They gave us both food poisoning totally ruined our 3 day get away. We spent the whole 2nd and 3rd day vomiting and diarrhea. The management said they would investigate and get back to us but did nothing!? Completely Horrible!!!

The service at this property is top notch. The use of what’s app with our personal concierge helped us remain informed. Given weather issues, it would have been great that due to certain closures of restaurants etc. that some activities be added. On one of the days there was only a mock tail making class that was for a surcharge, but no other activities and only a few restaurants were open, leaving you to head to opposite side of island to eat or drink. That would be our only my complaint.
Every person we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and genuinely wanted to ensure we enjoyed our stay. With dietary concerns, they were excellent and checked with me, and cooked me special sides. Our room attendant was awesome!!! Our room was serviced very timely, often quickly, but with attention to detail of what we ate and drank, as well as towel use etc were all addressed. We loved the Romantic overwater villa. They also accommodated is in a beachfront room for our last day after checkout since
Our flight did not leave until 11pm from Male. They also arranged a speedboat transfer and domestic flight seamlessly.
Couldn’t recommend the resort enough. Sure wish the weather had cooperated and more sun was present but we plan to be back:)

The place is amazing, staff are very welcoming and will do whatever it takes to make your stay the best it can be. Anfal our room boy always ensured we had everything we needed.
There are plenty of activities to do in this island to keep you entertained, i love the little touches like finding messages in a bottle that are hidden in the island, cafe LUX and the ice cream shop ICI have some really good stuff. The only thing to keep in mind when visiting are the prices, everything in expensive but LUX is definitely worth it

The complimentary lounge at the sea plane terminal is fantastic and a great way to relax inbetween. Check out was also an exceptional experience, their staff ensured you are taken care off all the way to your bag drop off at The Male airport! There were no surprises went it came to cost. We opted into the all inclusive package and I was pleased with this decision. The management of LUX South Ari atoll are so personal and friendly, we will definately be coming back to this resort when we return to the Maldives.

EVERY employee went above and beyond our expectation! The dive shop was on point, one of the best we have dove with. The food is just WOW out of this world. Last but not least the LUX ME Spa was absolutely outstanding service, we spent half of our trip there haha. Everyone was so kind, we will definitely go back to LUX South Ari Atoll.

Beautiful Paradise, Fantastic Island

Fantastic experience every step of the way. The service is great, and you have a beautiful island with few tourists. LUX* goes above and beyond with their food selections, beautiful beachfront dining/lounging, and plenty of places to have drinks. My wife and I enjoyed watching the world cup with some of the other guests, taking daily snorkeling trips to the house reef, and reading under palm trees every day. I already want to go back. Book this with confidence.. you'll enjoy the place. Just note that this is most suitable for couples, not singles, and most of the guests tend to keep to themselves, so it's not a \"social\" atmosphere, as much as a luxurious escape with at a resort that pays attention to all the details.

Beyond Amazing.

I don't usually take the time to write a review but my stay at Lux was beyond my expectations and we couldn't be happier with celebrating our Honeymoon there.

I can confirm the island and resort is as gorgeous as shown in the pictures. Below are things that were not clearly advertised yet much appreciated with the attention to details in a good way:

1) Early check in and late check out. Staff is very understanding and accommodating in light of our international flights.

2) AMAZING WIFI!!! No delay whatsoever. Speed as fast as back home in Seattle. Didn't expect this. Wife was happy to snapchat away with ease.

3) Placement of usb outlet by nightstands was very thoughtful.

4) Food was TOP NOTCH. I didn't expect the variety of food to be this delicious. Very clear the chefs are of high caliber.

5) Bottled fresh water filled daily in your villa. No charge.

My closing remarks pertain to the professionalism and care of Lux's staff with special kudos to managers Nima and Daisy. As in life, things never go according to plan and because of a miscommunication, our special dinner on the beach didn't take place as scheduled. Daisy and Nima, both managers who learned of the issue the first time, instead of passing the buck, they took charge in remedying my concerns and went above and beyond to ensure issue was addressed. I couldn't be more happier with their special care and time.

Beyond satisfied in every way!

The resort is gorgeous with attention to detail in every way. The staff is excellent as is the food. Things are very pricey such as the spa and ala carte items. I would highly suggest an all-inclusive option. I cannot say enough good about our stay -! We traveled from the U.S. and it was worth every single hour and dollar!

UNBELIEVABLE!!!

This resort is absolutely unbelievable!! From the instant I made the reservations, this resort went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing vacation. Within hours of booking our trip I received contact from the hotel staff wanting our airline reservations so they could make our seaplane accommodations. And when we got to MALE, everything went exactly as they said! Every single person was so personable, friendly and accommodating! The resort was breathtaking! The food was fantastic! This was our first time to the Maldives and to a LUX resort but I promise you this will not be our last! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Romantic Pool Water Villa - ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC

Fairly big island, lots of stuff to see, lots of ways to relax. The pool villas are gorgeous, staff very helpful, taking care of everything you need. The chefs were extremely considerate with dietary needs (gluten-free meals) and provided personal care. We couldn't have asked for more, had a great time throughout the stay.

Beware the 1/2 board meal plan

We didn’t plan on using to have pork meal plan but we were convinced in the waiting room that we should get it because it entrée and a salad with cost over $100. The trick is to spend $90 per person takes a lot of food from the menu. We only paid about $45 per person for an entrée and a salad

The prefect place to stay in Maldives

Our experience at LUX was beyond incredible! I would recommend this location to everyone. The most prominent feature about this place is the hotel staff. Everybody was so nice and friendly; they were always willing to help and always greeted you with huge smiles! If you go here, I would definitely recommend getting the all-inclusive packag, especially if you plan on taking advantage of the bars. For example, buffet cost is: $70/person plus beverages. And the cheapest bottle of wine is $45. So it's an easy $180 for only one meal. But the restaurants can add up to be more expensive. So all-inclusive is the way to go.

It's a stunning island which is well maintained by the staff. The staff is very friendly. And a big thank you to Ali who took care of our villa. He did a fabulous job.
The hotel offers lots of activities. We had a few rainy days but we never felt bored. The food has a big variety and is always fresh and tasty. There are a few restaurants on the island which are all worth to visit.
The hotel staff hides daily 20 messages in a bottle. We found one nearly every day which was fun.
In total we had a memorable stay at the Lux and I would always recommend it. If we go back we would stay in a water villa instead of a beach villa. This would be the icing on the cake. Thanks Lux team!!!

Once-you-go-Lux*-you-aint-going-back hotel!

Lux* certainly lived up to its name. Luxurious, Oh Yeah!! Lets start from the beginning; as you drag your tired feet with your heavy bags through the airport, you will be greeted by a smiling Lux* rep waiting for you at the booth in the airport. Their smile took away a little bit of your tiredness away. Thts the last time you will see ur luggage, till u get to ur room. :) you will be waiting at Lux* lounge waiting for the seaplane. With complimentary coffee, pastries, macaroons n tidbits. You felt that your holiday has begun. Reaching Lux* after a quick 20mins seaplane ride, you will be greeted by Lux* amazing n cheerful staff and manager. This is where your holiday really start! Check in was so quick you feel lost as you will be surrounded by beautiful reception area facing the clear waters of Indian ocean. We stayed in the water villa ( A MUST) . I kid you not, we saw baby black tip shark, baby manta, fishes that look like nemo swimming outside our room. (I tried swimming with them, but they swam away)The 6 days stay in Lux* was incredible. Everyday, they have activities planned for us. Some are complimentary! Snorkelling and diving there was one of the best we had. Crystal clear waters and fantastic reefs. Paddle boats, jet skis, hover boarding. Just a few to name. Food could be a tat better. 5 star, definitely, wide variety, but a little pricey. Bfast spread could be better too. Our enormous villa is kept clean always. Already miss Lux*. So what r u guys waiting for!!!

Remarkable quality all around! The most surprising part was extremely fresh and delicious food and very friendly and professional staff. Hope the hotel management realizes that they are a big asset and takes a good care of them.
Dive shop had very lean and efficient operation and relaxed attitude, letting more experienced divers go without a guide.
The room is very clean and comfortable.
All in all very positive experience. We will be planning a trip back next year!

We went for my husband's birthday and had an amazing time. The staff where so friendly and did a 5* job with the house keeping. The food was exceptional and that's coming from two chefs but it did cost a bit more than we thought. Over all we had the time of our lives and looking forward to going back.

My Dream Destination

The hotel was beautiful and the island was paradise. Stunning views while flying in the seaplane to our resort! Staff greeted us on arrival at the dock and helped us with an easy check in. They showed us to our room and made our stay relaxing and always checking to see if we had everything we needed.
