Boutique Hotel that needs to up its game

The property is away from the hustle and bustle of the market of Ubud, which is good and bad as you it is a 20 minute walk to the market. The suites are good, although cleanliness has much to be desired...the turnover was done but garbage in the room was not cleared!!! Breakfast is not buffet style but rather al-carte...you choose what you eat from a menu.

I loved this place! Not right in the main hustle of Ubud but about a 5-10 min walk. Quiet, beautiful rooms and a lovely pool. Did a cooking class right at the hotel, which was amazing. I loved the nightly 'bedtime' story that was put on the pillow with turndown serivce. Unbeatable staff- everyone was incredibly helpful and nice. Went on my first scooter ride with Iyu, who also gave a fantastic massage. I will definitely stay here again!

The location is conveniently close to Ubud town center (literally just a few minutes drive or scooter ride away), but also just far away enough for you to enjoy a quiet and relaxing evening away from the hustle and bustle.

Overall, we were blown away by the staff. We stayed in multiple hotels across Bali, but Sri Ratih had, by far, the best. Shout out to Ms Sri who gave us a warm greeting and Ms. Ayu, the excellent and talented masseuse. They even hooked us up with an excellent personal driver - Mr. Made, who was the most professional, caring and safest driver we had in Bali.

If you’re looking for a quiet place to rest and heal while also being not too far from the action, you cannot go wrong with Sri Ratih.

We spent 3 nights at this cozy resort and we loved it! From extremely friendly staff, very clean and beautifully decorated rooms, to very good spa services with a lovely field view, beautiful garden and delicious food available 24h. It is located at 15min walking distance to the centre and taxi drivers are available around the clock in the parking. All in all, we would definitely recommend staying here!

Luxurious, friendly, an oasis in Ubud

Stayed for three nights in August 2019 and loved it. This is a very luxurious hotel offering an exceptional service. The suite was large, clean with luxurious bathroom, huge bed, large balcony and offered everything needed. The staff are superb, attending to every need. Breakfast was great. The cottages offer a small, friendly, peaceful setting. Great location for central Ubud and the Campuhan Ridge Walk and urban rice fields.

My husband and I stayed in Sri Ratih hotel as part of our stay in Bali. The hotel is in a good location, only 10-15minute walk into the centre of Ubud. The hotel is in very pretty grounds and the staff were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. We were staying in a superior room (no 26) but moved on the first night due to their being a grand opening at a new club (which backed onto our hotel room). It felt as if we were in the club the music was so loud and at nearly midnight as we had been travelling we wanted to sleep. My husband had been told the music would finish at 10, which on most nights it does. Anyway we were swiftly moved to a room the other side of the complex which was an upgrade and given it for the same price. The manager was very apologetic and the staff were very good. I cannot fault them at all in how they handled the situation and we had a great stay here. Would definitely recommend this hotel. The breakfast is very good too!

Stayed in August 2018 as a family of 5. Booked the Sri Ratih as we wanted a family room in a decent hotel within walking distance of Ubud centre. We were very impressed, free 15min massage for the whole family, massive room, beautiful indoor/outdoor bathroom and very clean and well maintained. The pool, although small is also great having a kids section and a main section, even service complimentary afternoon tea each day! Ubud is a 10min walk downhill although there are a couple of bars/restaurants right next door. We found the location to be perfect, very tranquil at the hotel with pure peace and quiet and yet a short walk to the more lively town centre of Ubud. All in a fantastic couple of nights, we’ll certainly be back - highly recommended!More

Paradise in Ubud.

I had another fabulous stay at Sri Ratih Cottages. This was my third time here in 3 years. I'm so happy with the accommodation here I don't look for anywhere else to stay. The grounds and pool areas are beautiful. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and always faultlessly clean. Staff are welcoming, friendly and incredibly helpful.
I always sit downstairs to have one of their amazing breakfasts. Sitting by the fish pond surrounded by lush tropical plants is always such a tranquil start to the day.

The rooms were comfortable but note that there's a glass door & open air bathroom/shower so sound can travel easily. There was water damage on the walls of the outdoor bathroom area but the location was great, facility was nice & the staff was wonderful. The breakfast was really delicious and the cafe was very nice way to start the day.

Spacious, comfortable rooms set in beautiful meandering gardens. Large pool with enough sun beds for all.
Staff were attentive, friendly and very helpful.
Breakfast menu was probably the best we have ever had in many years of travel.
We did find the location was a long arduous walk from central Ubud. A shuttle is provided but only one way into town and only twice a day. But that said, taxis are cheap.
Would certainly recommend.

One of the best cottages in Ubud located about 20 mins walk from city centre along Jln. Penestanan. Very comfortable bedding, clean room, nice partial outdoor bathroom with great shower and full in-room facilities. WiFi is excellent. Great service from staffs. Breakfast is good too. A lot of good eateries just outside the cottage grounds if you don't feel like going down to the city centre or Monkey Forest Rd. Highly recommended!

This Hotel is amazing! We were greeted with a lemon grass ice tea which certainly helped to bring down the heat. The room was huge, well decorated and with many details. The bathroom was completely made of stone, which gave it a very different feel. The food was amazing! We made Mie Goreng fans into this hotel! The attention of the staff was outstanding. Sawi always gave us recommendations on what to do, always with a very helpful attitude and the best disposition to have a good time.
Without a doubt on our next trip to Ubud we will return to Sri Rathi.

A wonderful first few nights in Bali

What a great place to stay for our first few nights in Bali. It's a wonderful oasis that is so pleasing to the soul, eyes and body. The grounds are beautiful and the staff very kind. The setting is much better than shown in the photos. It's about about a 15 minute walk to the center of town, with one challenging non-sidewalk area just about five minutes away before a bridge with many nice restaurants. Shuttles are offered two times a day to town. The restaurant has many good free choices for breakfast and very reasonable prices for other meals. A wonderful full body message is only about $27USD.

Highly recommended.

We enjoyed the fact it is slightly off the tourist centre and therefore provides a far more layback and relaxing experience, whilst being near enough to be convenient.

Staff is quite dedicated and proactive to assist and support. Our thank you to all.

Breakfast is not continental buffet, but rather menu with a number of options to choose from. All in all quality over quantity with a decent portion more that enough. I would suggest that coffee could be served beyond one single cup.

Rooms: oversized huge bedroom in mint condition. Being so big, more decoration could be welcomed to make it more cosy. Still, very good bedroom and bathroom. Please do consider wifi extenders to boost very week signal

Common areas: quite nice areas, with the convenience of low cost scooter rental option.

I would highly recommend Sri Ratih Cottages for a stay in Ubud. Wonderful gardens and pool area. The rooms were spacious and clean with a lovely bathroom.

Quiet Garden haven close to town

Nice location but there is a hill to the hotel from Ubud Palace/Ubud direction. Perfectly walk-able but worth noting. Set in nicely maintained gardens with trees/bushes set for privacy. Restaurant/bar airy & relaxing. Nice size pool with good kid area and bar to order food/drinks. Rooms (we stayed in a ground floor suite with 1 extra bed for 2 adults and 2 kids) nicely appointed, spacious and comfortable. Air-conditioning quiet & worked well. Bathroom very spacious. Patio out front was open but no-one ever walked past, we sat there each night while kids slept & ordered room service for dinner. Fast efficient service and the food was freshly cooked and very good. The price-point was very good - cheaper and better value for money for the same quality outside the hotel from the few places we saw/tried.
Lovely spa. The foot massage / chair-based treatment area overlooks rice paddy with a few ducks that appeared roaming around. The massage rooms are not full walls, but are private with a fan - helps to maintain a connection with the outside air which I prefer. Good value and excellent treatment.
The only downsides if I really had to pick something was the outdoor poolside shower had bad water pressure according to my husband, and Saturday night - our first night there - music from a neighboring bar could be clearly heard. Decent modern music which we didn't mind, and stopped at 9pm. Rooms seem fairly sound-proof. Very good experience.

Unexpected luxury very near Penestanan Artists!

We arrived at Sri Ratih and were immediately excited! It's an oasis in the commotion of Ubud. The reception was gracious and welcoming. We booked ahead of our arrival and they upgraded us to a suite when we got there. A nice surprise indeed! The grounds are luscious, green, clean and manicured. The pool is divine. Our suite was enormous, the open concept bathroom almost as large as our room. Very well appointed. Small 2 person sitting area on your private porch. The breakfast was really unexpected... Hands down the best included breakfast in all my many years of travel! I also have to mention the staff... They were so wonderful, helpful and gracious. Always a smile... always. We booked a full day tour with one of their drivers, Made T. He was great. Nice comfy car, full of knowledge, and his English was really good. Full day tour, 8 hours, $600,000. Bargain. Yes, it's a 15 minute walk into the very center... big deal. You're on holiday. Take a cheap taxi if you like. It's worth the little bit of effort to have that kind of quiet seclusion and space. By the way, the Campuan ridge walk feature in the LP guidebook starts at the bottom of the hill. Very convenient for an early start! All in all I loved this place!

Perfect place to stay in Ubud

The whole experience of Sri Ratih was excellent, despite some issues with our room. When thinking of the grounds, the pool, the restaurant and the staff - we could not have asked for anything more. Many shops and restaurants within an easy walk, although a bit of a hike to the city centre. The 'cottages' in their name sounds misleading, these are lovely units, more like villas anywhere else. Truly a luxurious, natural resort.

Nice place with super staff

Beautiful hotel grounds. Has a free shuttle to town center every morning and afternoon (but not to return to hotel). Breakfast was great and included in the room price, and had lots of options to choose from (eggs, pancakes, noodles, vegetarian breakfast, fruits, coffee, fresh local juices, etc). Very nice staff - when we went to the front desk to ask if they had any cards (so our family could play a card game), they didn't have any. But to our surprise, they went down the street and found some for us at the local store and brought them to us about 20 minutes later. We didn't ask them to do it, they just did it on their own because they were being helpful. Our overall stay was very nice, staff was professional, location was good and close enough to many restaurants and shops, provided a great breakfast, and had a beautiful room that fit our family's needs.

Lovely hotel stay just out of ubud central

We stayed here with our two children and upgraded to the family suite which was large and fit all of us very comfortably. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast selection included in our stay was impressive. The Cafe also had a wide array of silver jewellery for sale which was very good quality and 50% off. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from ubud central and is an easy walk into town but recommend catching transport back to the hotel as there is some good hills.

In October 2015, we stayed 6 nights in a Deluxe Room which was spacious, clean and well equipped. The modern bathroom was huge and the fact that it also served as a dressing room was appreciated. Staff were friendly, helpful and courteous without being intrusive in any way. Our transfer from the airport was easily arranged via email and our driver was easily found. Staff also assisted with arranging drivers for half day trips to Tirta Empul Temple and to Sangeh Monkey Forest as well as transport to Seminyak on our departure. The hotel itself is located within easy walking distance of the centre of Ubud, the only drawback being a very steep uphill section on a fairly busy narrow road, as you approach the hotel, on the return trip. If this is not to your liking, the taxi fare into town is only a few dollars. To the left of the hotel gates is a range of local restaurants offering a variety of food at good prices. We ate several times at Warung Bamboo Sari and can recommend it for freshly cooked local food, friendly service at a very affordable cost. Breakfast at the hotel offers a range of menu types to suit a variety of tastes and serves are very generous. The hotel pool was well used by guests, particularly in the late afternoon, is extremely clean and the water temperature is just right. The inclusion of a free head and shoulders massage at the onsite spa is a bonus. We found Sri Ratih met all of our expectations, and more, and for a very reasonable cost.

Perfect stay at Sri Ratih

We had a wonderful 3-night stay at Sri Ratih Cottages. The staff was extremely accommodating, providing a baby cot after we originally declined it because we didn't expect to need one. Breakfast is not one of these plenty-of-average-food buffet but instead offers many different options to chose from: all the ones we tried were very good and we loved it. We didn't try the hotel restaurant but there are a few good and simple restaurants within 5-minite walk (organic cafe with salads, vegetarian Indian, warung...). Ubud center is very close but the road is not always easy (narrow and no sidewalk) when walking with kids. The hotel provides a complimentary shuttle a few times a day.

The staff at this hotel were fantastic. Always helpful and always smiling and friendly. The hotel itself in very close to Ubud without being in earshot of the traffic and the horn honking. Overall I'd say it's a 15-20 minute walk into the heart of the centre. Bit of a steep hill but nothing too strenuous. Taxi into centre is about 50000rp if you need it. The pool is nice enough and the restaurant serves good quality food at a reasonable price. The room (suite) we had was lovely and spacious, the bathroom was the size of a small football pitch and the grounds are beautiful. The hotel isn't a 5* but then you don't pay for 5* but the service certainly was. Couple of things that we noticed could improve - low number of ironing boards meaning I could never get one, bar ran out of a few drinks a couple of times rendering the cocktail list half empty and the spa can be a little noisy. We did have other things happen but the hotel staff were always accommodating and solved all our issues swiftly. I'd recommend staying at this hotel and I'm sure you'd have a fantastic time.

Only setback was location. Otherwise, fabulous.

The cottage's environment was very lovely and is surrounded by lush greenery. It felt so comfortable that I was quite reluctant to leave my hotel room, an unusual for me. The staff's service was friendly and very helpful. Do note the breakfast included wasn't buffet but merely a set. However, the breakfast set I chose was delicious. The only setback is the location. It's reachable by going up a slope and it can get pretty dark at night with cars passing by. Part of the slope has poor (or rather no) pavement for walking. The hotel's shuttle transport has a desalinated timing so it didn't work for us. We ended up walking all the time to get in and out. All in all, beside the location issue, I really like this hotel and would recommend friends to it.

Beautiful quite Hotel in Ubud

This was our first time in Bali and we started our trip in Ubud and stayed at the lovely Sri Ratih Cottage Hotel, what a gem of a place. It's located outside the main center of town,it's quite and I wished we booked a few more days longer. This hotel is marked as a 3 star hotel, but it's more like a 4-4/12 star hotel.
Breakfast was very good too.

I found my go-to happy place!!

From the moment I arrived at Sri Ratih direct from all-day international flight I felt like I had truly landed in paradise; the friendly welcoming smiles, relaxed & efficient sign-in, the lush & aesthetic ambience & surroundings, and beautifully appointed room took my breathe away!
I spent the best 3 nights of my 2 week Bali- stay at Sri Ratih, indulging in the luxurious comfort, fresh and scrumptious breakfast, exceptional service, divine swimming pool and nurturing & professional massages at the Sri Ratih Spa. A wonderful escape from the demands & delights of Ubud (albeit a steeper climb and distance than I had anticipated) at the quieter end of town. Sri Ratih exceeded my expectations and I left feeling like I had been deeply nurtured by the experience. I would certainly return again and recommend it to travellers looking for a special place to stay. Thank you.

Amazing honeymoon stay.

We loved this hotel. We were on our honeymoon but also on a budget. When we arrived we were told we had been upgraded to the honeymoon suite. It was amazing and very big. We had our own floor with a great view. Breakfast and food in General was very good and well priced. Gardens and pool area are immaculate and the pool is great. We had a 2.5 hr spa treatment and they discounted it to $65 aud for both of us. It was well worth it.

It is a 10 minute walk to the main few streets but we did not find this difficult. They will take you in there 2 times a day at no charge.
Don't hesitate to stay here.

Hidden jewel in busy Ubud

This hotel is a kind of oasis in Ubud. Little away from the main road it is very calm and provides you with everything you need after a busy day of sightseeing. Nice, spacious and clean rooms, each with outside attached bathrooms, also quite big. Excellent breakfast and menue. Very cosy to sit in the restaurant and overlooking the greenery of the hotel garden. Nice pool and spa. The stuff was very friendly and helpful. And all this as a three star hotel!! I have experienced 5 star hotels which were not even nearby Sri Rathis standard. Fantastic holiday. Will definitely recommend it to everyone and come back.

Wasn't impressed overall with the cottages. Suite stated jetted bath and requested twin beds but only received a double. When requested only an apology given. Wifi was extraordinary frustrating and poor overall. Also the \"balcony\" was a shared balcony with another suite resulting in people sitting outside your bedroom window.

Also the spa charges are very over priced.

Resort feel, holiday atmosphere, low price

My sister and I stayed there for two nights whilst we were in Ubud. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and they allowed us to check in even though we were an hour early. We had booked a deluxe room but that wasn't available so they upgraded us to a suite. Our room was spacious and the ensuite bathroom had a huge bath and shower. There was little to fault about our room. The bathroom had a bit of an odd smell. Also the sweeping by the groundsmen early in the morning woke my sister up. And the wifi didn't always work in our room- sometimes it did and sometimes it didnt. But it was always good around the pool.

We never went in the pool but others did and it looked really nice. Lots of families around.

The restaurant was good value and they have a wide variety of foods. We were pretty happy with the food, particularly the free breakfast which has multiple courses and a wide variety. The restaurant also does room service.

I liked the staff at this place. They were friendly without being over the top. There was a gentle curiosity to them. They didn't ask a million questions about you and what you did during the day. They were happy to talk if you wanted to otherwise they would let you be.

The resort is about a 5 minute taxi ride to town.

We went during low season when there was a big discount. Definitely recommend this time of year because everything is cheaper (hotels, tours, markets etc) because there aren't as many tourists around. Wholeheartedly recommend this place.

Perfect place in Ubud

This hotel is an absolute gem. We stayed at hotels twice as expensive in Ubud but this rated very highly compared to them, so it was a bargain. The location is good and the rooms and bathrooms are stunning. I loved it and would go back in a heartbeat.

This hotel was great, had a spa, pool and restaurant. The spa overlooked rice paddies. It was pretty easy to get a driver to drive us to the main town area. Cost around $3-$4 each time. I didn't rate it 5 stars as there were quite a few mozzies at night and initially our room smelt slightly damp.

serene villas walking distance from Ubud

Sri Ratih is in penestanan, an artist village walking distance from all the action in Ubud. The area is beautiful and the hotel premise is completely serene. I only wish I could have stayed more than 1 day.

A Little Gem.

Small hotel just outside of busy Ubud

Small hotel in a nice setting just outside of Ubud. Reception staff not very friendly. We stayed 3 nights in this hotel and had to change rooms after one night. Wifi reception is poor. Limited amount of beds around the pool.
Lots of opportunities to shop in Ubud and eat in one of the many restaurants. Visiting the rice terraces is a must do, beautiful and calm (completely the opposite from hectic Ubud). We also visited Bali Zoo on this trip and did ride an elephant, but would not recommend it.

Family oasis

A great place for our family to return to after a days sightseeing - clean rooms with a great bathroom, lovely staff, beautiful gardens and pool terrace, nice Bali pavilion dining experience and a well patronised massage service . We liked the location, which was out of the hubbub of the village centre, although within walking distance, and near an interesting mix of shops and restaurants. The smaller scale of the resort suited us and we liked being part of the international guest mix.

Sri Ratih Cottages - 4 nights in May 2014

I heard about the neighbour's construction noise from reviews and was afraid that will spoil our sleep so I made an overseas call to the hotel to ensure we get a quiet room. Was told Room 11 (a suite) was reserved for us. When we checked in, it was given to someone else and allocated a ground floor room instead, next to the reception area. At our request, we were moved to the original room the next day. Staff was accommodating so we were overall pleased with our stay at this really beautiful hotel. Neighbour's construction works completed so was a lovely quiet & peaceful place to stay. A few mosquitoes (as expected when you're in Ubud) but if you keep room doors closed, it won't be a problem at all. Food was average but pleasant. We thought coffee was a bit diluted but if you ask for stronger coffee, they'll happily oblige. Beautiful view on 2nd floor for dinner overlooking the shrine, or the koi pond ground floor for breakfast. Only minor set-back was we were bitten by bed bugs. Hotel should check the mattresses & do the necessary treatment. Would still like to stay here. Absolutely lovely interior & exterior decorations with marble floorings. Huge bathroom! Oh, so Balinese feel! Keep improving Sri Ratih, we love you!

Setting for romantic holiday. The hotel is set in the most beautiful gardens, the staff are most helpful and courteous, always smiling. Nothing was too much trouble which made our holiday so much more enjoyable. The location of the hotel is in a quieter area, easy walking to main shops and restaurants in Ubud, but would suggest taxi back for those who do not want to exert themselves as hill is steep! All in all a wonderful few days. Thankyou.

I stayed at Sri Ratih with my girlfriend, who was in Bali for the first time, so I wanted her to be impressed. She was. We were greeted at reception with a cold towel and a welcome drink while we checked in. We were upgraded to a Superior room, as all the Deluxe rooms were full. When we were shown to our room, we only had a king bed, and we had requested twin beds. When we asked at reception, we were told that they only had three rooms with twin beds, and they were taken, but they would put a single bed in our room for us. I was expecting just a cot, but when we returned to our room after a walk and a Bintang, they had made up a single ensemble bed for us. It still left enough room, and was very comfortable. The pillows were great too. The bathroom was huge, and the pool was lovely. The included breakfast was varied and really good. We really enjoyed the two nights we spent at Sri Ratih. It is on a bit of a dangerous road for walking into town, and when I asked if they had a shuttle bus, I was told with a beautiful smile, that they did not. We walked into town half a dozen times in the day and at night, and we made it, but it was a bit scary. That was the only fault. I would happily stay there again. :-)
