Beautiful property, nice staff.....with plenty of dinning options. I highly recommend it. I stayed from Sept 28 to Oct 1st. I booked a villa but for some reason it was cancelled. The hotel management emailed me inmediately and offered me an upgrade, a beautiful ocenview suite. Easy check in / out. I will definelty go back to this hotel next time I visit Dubrovnik. Fall in love with the hotel and its surounding areas.

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights recently and really enjoyed our stay at the Maistra Villas. It was close enough to Dubrovnik to get there by bus, taxi, or boat, while also being far enough outside the city to be quiet and peaceful. The staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful, answering any questions we had and addressing anything we needed right away. Our room was it's own independent unit, with a seperate bedroom and living area. It was clean and spacious, and they even left a welcome gift of wine and fruit, which was a lovely extra. All around it was wonderful. We highly recommend the Villas for anyone looking for a pleasant, relaxing stay away from the hustle and bustle of Dubrovnik while still being close enough to enjoy it.

They charge for sun loungers on the beach but not by the pool. There were never any loungers by the pool as people leave their towels to reserve them. The beach is right next to the hotel and paying €60 for a family of 6 for them a day is unfair.
The restaurants advertise as open all day but then in small print close the kitchens in afternoon. Make it clearer as it is misleading,

Absolutley beautiful location with stunning sea views. The villa we stayed in was the second row up but it was so close to the sea you could actually hear the waves from the balcony.
The villa was spacious and very clean with lots of wardrobe space.
The bathroom was big with 2 sinks, however the only negative thing was the shower! It was just a hose shower that didn't really stay in place so you had to hold it most of the time or else just use very little water pressure! Not a huge thing but a nice rainfall or power shower would've made it perfect!
The villa was cleaned every day and they gave us extra towels when we needed them.
We had breakfast in the Oleander Beach Bar which was really nice!
We didn't go to the pool as the beach was way less crowded and the water was perfection!

My husband and I booked a Villa and loved it!! The accommodation was spacious and clean and we had a wonderful view of the sea from our large balcony.

Lovely beach side apartment
A lovely stay in one of the premium beachside apartments. Apartment was well kitted out for our stay with stunning views across the sea. The cleaning could have been better after finding blood stains on the bedding. Also a hot water tank that only accommodates one bath was a little frustrating but not a huge issue. Check in was a little chaotic having a separate check in desk for the apartments and being asked to check-in at another desk, then being sent to the back of the queue of the original queue. Also only having one buggy running at a time to take you to an apartment that was a 1min walk away was a little odd. Still, a very enjoyable stay and will be happy to visit again.

We stayed just one night at Maistra Mlini Villas. We checked in online the day before arrival. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. It was already evening and a staffer took me on a golf cart to the apartment. The setting is beautiful and we will most likely come back again. There was one problem, at the entry gate. It is reasonable that you have to push a call button on your first arrival. However, the road is very steep and the button is so inconveniently located that a second person had to get out of the car, push the button, and call the stuff to open the gate. We were leaving mid-day, next day. The gate did not automatically open even though the front of the car got very close to it. So, the second person had to get out of the car, get to the other side of the road/gate, and push the call button to ask the staff to open the exit gate. I am not sure if this happened only to us, but this issue should not be happening.

Even though there was a misunderstanding with our reservation, the personal at the hotel did all possible. Our villa was wonderful and we will definitely come back. Beautiful views, very comfortable and excellent service.

The property did not update on the check-in process, so this was a problem when giving directions to the taxi driver. The unit we had, however, was functional and clean, with a gorgeous view. The property itself is beautiful!

The resort is in a beautiful village, Mlini. Our apartment was immaculately clean and we had housekeeping every morning. Somehow they always managed to clean our apartment while we were out for breakfast.
The buffet breakfast was lovely with lots of choices.
The resort is in a perfect position halfway between the airport and Dubrovnik old town.
The fact that we are planning an other holiday to this beautiful place is proof of our recommendation!

Pleasant stay on a beautiful beach
We really enjoyed our time here. The villas look nice and are in good condition. We liked the little touches like a fruit bowl with apples, because we arrived late at night and were hungry. We also liked the kitchenette with dishes, and the provided beach towels. The staff was friendly, the location on the beach was great (with an easy drive to Old Town Dubrovnik), and the beds were comfortable. We didn't realize that the reception is located at Hotel Astarea. At least, I didn't see that anywhere in the fine print on Hotels.com. We drove around for a while trying to find Villas and Apartments Mlini, but the navigation takes you to Hotel Astarea. Finally, I had to call to get help, and it turned out that is where the parking and reception are located.

Confirmation gave address of check-in which was the actual property and should have given the name of the hotel. Taxi driver delivered us to the given address but once we were given the name of the check-in hotel, it put us in the correct spot.

Very nice property with beautiful views, beachfront restaurant and large, well maintained pool. Small and quiet little town. We were lucky to be there when there were very few tourists.
We took a day trip by boat to visit a few islands for about 50€ for the full day including lunch. Highly recommended! You can book the day before at little kiosks just down the waterfront (5min walk from the restaurant).
There are a few other restaurants in easy walking distance. The nearest grocery store is about a 25 min walk at a brisk pace.

Loved it all despite the current ongoing Covid 19 situation, which the Hotel managed great...Lovely clean pool and poolside area with Beach Bar called Oleander where the Staff are fabulous!...swift easy check in close to Dubrovnik, and local Restaurants and Supermarket all in walking distance, would definitely return! x

Beautiful area, nice villa/apartments, amazing sea view. Local bars, restaurants and shopping centre within 20 min walk. Only one bar and restaurant was open on site and hotel was closed. Lovely pool and well maintained pool area. Helpful staff and good cleaning pf rooms. Would've liked more in the kitchenette, it's a bit small and awkward. Good value for money overall, would recommend and would like to fo back.

I didn't like that our room wasn't cleaned. When we brought wet beach towels to the front desk, we were told they would be teplaced and brought fresh to our room. It never was and mo one really cared when we inquired.

Staff was really friendly and helpful, and the view from the balcony breathtaking. However, we were really disappointed by the lack of rule enforcement at this hotel. There were signs saying it was not allowed to use balls or inflatable mattresses in the pool, and that reserving sunbeds was forbidden. However, almost everyone broke those rules, without any consequence. We never managed to get a sunbed in 2 weeks because vmevryine else out their towels there before the opening of the pool.
The beds and couch in the rooms are really uncomfortable. Another minus is the distance to a grocery store. 25 minutes walk with a bay in the scorching sun isn't the best. It would be nice with a small convenience store on hotel grounds for things like milk or bread.
Also, all the restaurants in the area offer the exact same menu, which is really tiring after a few days...

the hotel is like 70’s hotel.. nothing has changed from that time..the photos and houses are different. there is no enough car park at hotel..the villas mlini is a part houses of hotel astarea so dont think its a new villas. you cant find place at beach easily, the internet comnection does not work properly, there is no enough light inside the hotel..when you’re walking from reception to your room, you have to use your phone’s light..think twice before you make an reservation..

Thought we were going to stay in one of the 'pods' which feature in all of the pictures: was initially disappointed as we were put in the 3 storey building to their left which, although fine inside, have much smaller balconies. But we got used to it and enjoyed our stay. Very good staff on reception at the Astarea (the main hotel whose facilities are shared with the villas).

We stayed here for the last week of our honeymoon. The villa was fantastic, located overlooking the sea front and just a short walk to bars and restaurants. The pool at the hotel next door that is free to use was very well laid out and maintained, although we spent a lot of time on our own terrace enjoying the sun.
The boat services to Dubrovnik are very convenient and go just from the bay a few minutes walk from the villas. Excellent relaxing stay.

This is the second time visiting Mlini and it was just as good as the first time. It is 15 minutes from the airport and had a wonderful staffing structure who are friendly and thoughtful. Villa was immaculate and daily house keeping quick and friendly. We has a medical incident and the hotel arranged for a GP to visit that day as an emergency and then the hotel checked up later in the evening to see if there was any further assistants required. Beautiful surroundings and just a perfect peaceful sanctuary. Would highly recommend.

A much needed couples break
We spent a week in late September 2018. We wanted to stay somewhere that was in easy reach of Dubrovnik but also we wanted to be able to relax. We couldn't have chosen better. The Villas gave us the independence to do what we wanted, with sights to see only a bus/taxi/boat ride away. We did have an issue on arrival when the door to the villa would not close properly and as we arrived at nearly midnight it wasn't a great start, however we were moved into another villa overnight and then the door was fixed in the morning so we moved back to the original villa. One thing I would say is that even though the booking was in my name, when we were checking in the gentleman only addressed my husband even though I was the one doing the talking. This was to be repeated throughout our stay.
The Villas themselves are clean, well equipped for most things. They even had a kettle so we could have our coffee/tea in the morning.
Mlini itself was quiet and relaxing, not sure it would be like that in the height of summer. There are a few bars and restaurants, most evenings we took the walk round to Srebreno and ate in the Vertigo cafe. Simple tasty burgers, hot dogs and salad, a typical meal cost less than 200K. Absolute bargain.
The sea and the coast line is the outstanding feature here. The sea is so clear and warm. Yes the beaches are pebbly but once you get past these it's sandy and stunning. It took us less than 4 minutes to get from the villa to the beach. We'll definitely be back!

Nice little one-storey villa just by the seafront shaded by trees - arguably partially impeding sea view. One of the quietest still very near main hotel facilities.

We stayed in the terrace villas and loved our room and view. We ate at several of the restaurants and enjoyed the food (particularly lunch ay Pizzeria) and friendly staff. Filipo was exceptional, as were Pavo and Jelco. We enjoyed the beach but never went to the pool as it was always crowded. The water taxis to Dubrovnik and Cavat were convenient and fun.

Wonderful apartment in a lovely neighborhood
The apartment (called Villa Lucic) has beautiful view of the sea, it's maintained well and clean all the time, has nearly instant access to the beach and restaurant. It's along the promenade going through the Dubrovnik Riviera hotels. It's a lovely \"town\" concept connecting all 3 resorts with local performances nearly every night when we were there. The only tip I could give is to request in advance an apartment on higher floors (Villa Lucic has only 3 apartments, one on each floor). The building is directly beside the swimming pool used by all 3 hotels in the area, so you can imagine how busy it could be. Although they are sound-proofed well so you won’t get disturb when you close all windows, you also want to enjoy the sea breeze so expect the noise of people from the pool so it’s one way or the other. The noise is primarily kids and people talking no loud boombox playing (except on certain mornings when they have scheduled aqua aerobics). If peace and quiet is a religion to you, take the apartments/villas away from the pool. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our vacation.

The best Villas Mlini
The villa we were assigned upon arrival was perfect. The villa was kept spotless daily thanks to the great cleaning staff. We are 2 adults + 1, 9 yo child, so plenty of room. The sea view was beautiful from the balcony, even though it was slightly obstructed. The meals provided in the associated Hotel Astarea were the best around the area & at a very good price. The outdoor pool was a big hit with my daughter & the pool entertainment staff were attentive. Only fault was the indoor pool as was over treated with chemicals, burning the eyes. It is a great base for a family holiday, but you def need a hire car to get around here. I'd recommend the boat taxi to Dubrovnik as a great trip to spend the day there & niot have to worry about parking. Note, eating out is not cheap in Croatia for a family, especially Dubrovnik old town. Also def go to nearby Cavtat for a day out, its beautiful there with lots of tourist shops, $$$ yachts to see, & the best ice cream parlor.

Uber or Taxi to the airport? UBER... NO QUESTION!
Then entire trip was great. The area was great with plenty of offerings for things to do. But at the end of the trip, the man at the front desk said very emphatically, “Believe me. Taxi is always cheaper to the airport than Uber.” I asked how much the taxi was. He said, “20 Euro.” I looked him, showed him the Uber App on my phone, and said that the Uber App would only cost me 11 Euros.” He then got angry and stormed off. So either, he has a deal he’s made with the taxis, or he just hates being wrong. Either way, his job is to help the customers. And at that moment, he failed to do so by lying to me. And I’m sure I’m not the first person to ask him this question.
While I recommend the hotel, I do not approve of staff who lie to the faces of their customers. Shame on you! I’m glad I took the Uber to the airport.

The villas are nice by themselves but they are a part of Hotel Astarea which is where you check in and have breakfast.
It is a long walk from Hotel Astarea check-in to the villas.
Parking is difficult as you cannot park close to the villas. You have to park in Hotel Astarea's carport spaces which are very small. I damaged my rental car trying to park in a carport space because it was the only available space. Be careful

We stayed in one bedroom villa for three nights. The villa was steps away from the beautiful beach and two gorgeous swimming pools, restaurants, bars, and a spa. The entire property was FANTASTIC! The RECEPTION and SPA staff were EXTREMELY kind, helpful and knowledgeable. The entire property (and staff) was incredible! The location is also perfect. We parked our car on site and took a ferry to Dubrovnik. Perfect stay at a perfect place!

It was a great choice. The hotel is nice, location is absolutely perfect. Only complaint is a strange smell which I contributed to humidity of the place. However the AC takes care of that that the few minutes. The cleaning staff is absolutely perfect. If anybody reads this they should give them a great kudos. The accommodations are perfect. So, in no particular order...
Mlini: Lovely place and well worth a visit. It is within easy reach of Dubrovnik - either by bus or water taxi - and there are plenty of beaches to relax on - some even have a little sand which is unusual for Croatia. Supermarket was a bit of a walk but didn't take ages and was a big supermarket as part of a bigger shopping centre.
The apartment: Everything the other reviewers have said is bob on! It is fairly unclear how to get there - better to follow signs to the Hotel Asterea (and even then we ended up in their loading bay!). Some good signage (or changing the apartment name) would be good. The accommodation was very bijou. Thankfully we were in a downstairs apartment so we benefitted from a good sized balcony but I think we would have gone stir crazy if we'd stayed much longer than 3 nights. I wouldn't really describe it as self catering. There was no freezer or cooker, but it was ok to make breakfasts and lunches. The room looked fairly brand new but the finish was pretty pants. Two tiles fell off the wall while we were there, the shower sprayed water out of the top into the rest of the bathroom and the handle fell off the sliding door into the bedroom.
Amenities at the hotel: Good range of restaurants serving decent food (although the service was a little slow in our experience). Outdoor swimming pool was chilly but the indoor pool was lovely. Didn't really get chance to try anything else out.

The resort was not very convenient to find if you just google it due to discrepancy in the hotel vs villas and sister hotel all at once. The rooms are not very comfortable to get to if you stay in villas. however if you stay at this location for 5 or more days then you can enjoy it to the fullest.

Super modern little villa with beautiful views. The hotel Asterea that its in the grounds of is quite dated but nether the less has the most lovely pool area and right onto the beach. Hotel staff, reception and cleaning were excellent. Lots of very nice restaurants all in walking distance, we were there for 7 nights and ate at a diffetrent place every night though one was at Cavtat just round the bay. Would definitely return to this area.

The views from this apartment are splendid. You can watch all sorts going on in the water and participate in many. Shoes needed to go into the water as very rocky. The weather was perfect though very hot. The apartment is quite new but furnished sparsely. Bathroom is nice with a lovely shower. The room was clean and we had made service every day. Welcoming bowl of apples and bottled water. Lacked a toaster. Had hotplate, microwave, fridge and kettle that was on the table! Large wardrobe but very few hangers and no drawers, only big shelves in wardrobe. Not good for keeping clothes organised. Could have had drawers at bedside instead of small tables. A few restaurants close but quite a walk to others. No supermarket close feel that a car is needed but I wouldn't like to drive there!

What would have been helpful to be listed on Hotels.com would be for them to tell you to check in at the Hotel Astarea (spl?) and to look for that parking.
