Interesting geography of hotel in lovely town and good location. Very friendly staff. Hotel car park 10€ per night 300 yds away. Very friendly staff. Clean and comfortable. Despite being in a quiet area, quite a lot of noise at night from people talking nearby until 1am. Food in hotel good but glacial service in restaurant.

Excellent hotel to stay at when in Puglia. It's extremely well located near Polignano a Mare, with incredible views, restaurants, and some shops. It has a fantastic Medieval look all over, as it is located in the Center of everything. It has a beautiful Cathedral in front and a very safe area.
The staff is outstanding, caring, and very resourceful. They have very well-trained people managing several languages to communicate.
It's immaculate and has all you need inside and outside the rooms.
I highly recommend this Hotel!

When I booked, I was concerned that the pictures might be misleading but honestly, the room was more than I could have hoped for. The room was spacious and beautiful. We fell in love with Conversano- everyone was friendly, dining options were fantastic and the evening crowd in the piazza near the cathedral was magical. Conversano's old city (where the hotel is) is like being in a fairytale. The bus stop is just on the other side of the piazza from the hotel and the ride is only an hour and less than $3 to Bari and the train station. The hotel helped us get a taxi the day of the train strike and we spent hours wandering around Bari. I can't recommend this hotel enough. Breakfast was wonderful and the staff was great!

Awesome stay in Conversano.

Great property conveniently located in the historic center of Conversano. We used it as our base to visit Puglia. Make sure to reserve your parking in advanced.

One point of improvement is the shower. It had a noticeable amount of mold in the tiles. Other than that, I would give it a 10/10.

The most charming and unexpected delightful hotel, tucked away in the stunning Conversano.
Highly recommend dinner in the on-site restaurant. Room was very comfortable and clean. The spa area was lovely but felt expensive and sadly no discount for residents.

We had a delightful week long stay at this property. Everyone on the staff we encountered was kind and courteous. The restaurant, Goffredo was excellent, and particularly well run by Marina, who was a great host. Conversano is a gem. Would definitely stay here again.

When we arrived the check in person didn’t advise of any excursions or gave us pointers on how to get taxis or even the nearest train. We had to ask for information and then found a pamphlet on the lobby with answers to questions we were asking. When checking out, I was not given an invoice and then was asked via WhatsApp for payment for the rooms even though I had asked twice for payment confirmation and invoice when checking out. Overall we didn’t feel welcome. It was however a beautiful location and the rooms and facilities were well kept.

Beautiful historical hotel inside the old town...loved it...breakfast fabulous...great area to walk around...lots of shops and restaurants....great base for day trips...wish I had stayed longer....don’t miss Polignano a mare or Castello Caves close by...favourite restaurant Oren....parking five minute walk just outside town at the gas station.

Beautiful and charming medieval setting

Charming location, in a medieval setting. Friendly locals. Hotel room functional,and clean, beds firm but comfortable, plumbing bit dated/southern Italian but clean and functioning. Very light and airy breakfast room/terrace at top of hotel overlooking roof tops of the town that doubled as a restaurant at night. Old charming stone village.

Very old charming historic village and square with great restaurants & shops in walking distant. I paid extra for larger room and balcony, it was great to have the extra sitting area. The balcony was only a Juliet which I was not made aware of. I loved the stone walls with the large windows and the wood doors. All the charm I was looking for with a great view down a stone path to the church. The staff was friendly but not all that helpful.

The hotel is very attractive and in a great location to enjoy the old part of the city. Parking is a long way off site and you take a shuttle back and forth, so that can be a pain. Hard to find the hotel too as it is in the old centre and you may not realize you can drive up to it . My wife found the bed was a bit hard. The breakfast was good, lots of choice. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the restaurants nearby. Staff are friendly and try hard but it isn't always easy to communicate in English with some.

Great hotel,nicely positioned in the old town.Charmingly renovated It is possible to access the hotel by car, once you have passed the security guard in the town square. The hotel then has a separate car park that you can be escorted to if you want, and taken back the next morning to collect your car.Free service, and better than leaving your car in the town . Nice welcome pack in the room with biscuits and individual welcome note. Roof top terrace a bit disappointing re views etc, and this is where we ate breakfast. Not very good if you have mobility problems. Our room for example could be accessed by lift, but then required an additional flight of steps to get to breakfast. Conversano a bit restricted for a nice restaurant, other than Pizza!!!

Pretty and characterful and good eateries nearby

This is a lovely place for a short break. V good massage in the spa and the whole place feels tranquil. The hotel is a two minute walk from the main piazza, cathedral and some great restaurants. It is also a ten minute walk from a small station, although you don't hear trains at all. This is ideal for excursions to Alberobello, direct train, and Trani or Lecce, via Bari Centrale but there is a more limited transport system at certain times of the year/ during Easter etc. A car is useful in the area but we avoided that as parking/access is a bit of a nightmare. Hotel breakfast is good with a range of cold meats, cheese and pastries. They also make espressos and cappuccinos to order.

We had a great stay here with our 18 month year old - the hotel is just beautiful and the staff were fantastic. The rooms we tidy and well equipped - we had one with a kitchenette which was a life saver as the restaurants around didn't open until 8 which was late for our little one. Breakfast had a huge range of choice. Only downsides were the beds were harder than I like! I would recommend a car hire - we managed to find a sandy beach at capitolo which was fab.

Good historic hotel in a great location.

The Corte Altavilla is an excellent hotel in a fantstic location in the heart of pretty and historic Conversano. The hotel is full of character and is very well run. There are nice little touches, like free welcome nibbles and drinks for guests most evenings and it is these little things that make a difference. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped, although our room on the second floor did suffer a bit from early morning noise coming down from the restaurant on the roof terrace. The evening meal food was superb, but the breakfasts were a little disappointing (I think they are trying to cut costs). All in all I would certainly recommend the Corte Altavilla.

The hotel was very pretty, the only problem was access. It could only be reached on foot, which is OK if you don't have too much luggage. Parking is in the square, which is chargeable, or on the road. The restaurant was above our room, which was a downside at 1 o'clock in the morning and chairs and tables are being moved around! However, the area is very interesting and there is lots to see and do. I would happily recommend the hotel, but point out that it is in a pedestrian area.

Cool spot... off the beaten path... Unique hotel

Beautiful historic location with lots of shops and restaurants to walk to nearby-- the streets come alive later into the evening. Excellent breakfast included (loved the bowl of fresh tomatoes, which are not typical) on the rooftop restaurant. Hotel staff very friendly. Prior to my trip I emailed for help with a taxi from the Bari airport (about 45 minutes drive with a little traffic and 70 euros in August 2012) and Letizia was wonderfully responsive. The room was spacious enough, and I liked the little kitchenette. The beds were not that comfortable but not terrible and the linens were very clean. Thermarium/spa was nice, but it's too bad that's not included in the price if you book a spa service-- there's a fee to use the sauna, another fee to use the jacuzzi, etc. even though I booked a massage. I enjoyed the little art gallery near the front desk-- cool glass sculptures! The town felt very safe, and people were very kind. All in all a great location & unique hotel-- I'd love to go back for a longer stay. I thought the hotels.com price was an excellent deal.

Very pleasant hotel in a great position

A very pleasant hotel. I'm not sure if I would agree this was a 4* hotel, more like a 3*, simply because of the facilities available in the room itself, but the hotel building was really nicely finished and combined old rustic brickwork and arches with a more modern finish.

There was a lovely communal area with tea facilities and lots of info and leaflets about the surrounding areas and an art gallery space had also just opened up on the ground floor at the time of our visit, showcasing the works of a few regional artists.

Conversano town is small and can easily be done in a day so it would be worth while visiting nearby towns such as Polignano A Mare and the hotel's location to the rail station and bus stops is great for if a hire car isn't an option.

Lovely quiet hotel and quaint

We had a very comfortable and enjoyable few days and the room was spotless and interesting. The hotel is set in the old part of the town and could not be more central and yet so quiet. The breakfast was excellent as was the restaurant in the evening for dinner should you choose to eat there. All in all, highly recommended and we would definately return.

Take a guide book if you only speak English.

This is a beautiful hotel in an excellant location.I would have rated it superb if the desk staff had been able to communicate with us better. We were two women on our own, who can't speak Italian.I knew this was problamatic. However, I expected the front desk to be able speak enough English to answer a few standard questions fully.

Have Your Seeing Eye Dog Handy

While this hotel is beautiful - you'd better have a GPS, map, seeing eye dog, and maybe even the creators of Google Earth to help you locate this place. We actually had both a GPS and Google Navigation running, and ended up just parking and trying to walk to find it!

The front desk was less than helpful with the predicament and gave us a map that didn't actually include the spot they wanted us to find and park at - she literally drew an arrow and said \"it's over here\". Beware, there are TWO AGIP stations - get them to clarify! We lucked into street parking by one of them since the lot was full.

Breakfast was unremarkable, and we had to hunt someone down to get plates and water. The room, while beautiful, was located off a courtyard with screaming chidlren until 11pm - not a haven of relaxation! This was followed by people on our floor running up and down the hall and yelling.

Unfortunately, we did not try their spa services so I cannot speak for those. All in all, I'd say if you're looking for a small town feel and a little haven of tranquility - this likely isn't it.

Nice B&B style hotel but better directions please

This is good place - small rooms but really nice breakfast room. What is lacking on website is better map of how to get to hotel once you have reached Conservano. Access to hotel lane to drop off bags is very difficult by car but Ok once you have worked out where to go. Parking is about 200metres away in an AGIP pump station.
For a quick access lesson - drive into large courtyard by castle, face catherdal which is being renovated - turn right down narrow lane about 50 metres. Very tight turning space. Alternatively, temporary park near cathedral and walk bags to hotel.

Di buono c’è il rapporto qualità/prezzo. Sicuramente pulita ma la camera era scomoda (solo un armadio sacrificato, niente cassettiera, i sanitari mal posizionati) e decisamente “vintage”. Bene le parti comuni e la posizione in pieno centro della bellissima Conversano. Da migliorare il servizio ai tavoli del ristorante (un cameriere troppo invadente e con tratti di incompetenza imbarazzanti: non ha saputo servire un pesce cotto ai ferri, ma anche altre pecche, a cominciare dai vestiti molto stazzonati).

l'hotel est très bien situé, dans la ville historique ce dont il résulte un calme absolu; compte tenu d'un établissement historique, il y a forcément un agencement qui n'est pas régulier mais cela a tout son charme et les vieilles pierres sont magnifiques

Ogni volta che si arriva al vicolo che ospita la struttura, si rimane incantati. La nostra stanza poi era davvero un gioiello. Era come vivere in un castello. Ecco, forse ci ha dato un po’ di filo da torcere la ricerca di un parcheggio la sera, ma nulla di insormontabile. Notre séjour s’est bien passé. Chambre propre, climatisée, salle de bain simple mais suffisante.
Le linge est changé tous les jours (serviettes..).

Le petit déjeuner en terrasse sur le toit était varié, mais nous nous en sommes lassé assez vite, car toujours la même chose.

Très beau cadre, personnel sympathique, bien situé dans la vieille ville, nous recommandons.

Possibilité de réserver un parking via l’hôtel, nous recommandons fortement!

Dommage que le petit déjeuner était pas à la hauteur d un 4 étoiles , pas de
Salé si ce n’est des omelettes à la demande .
Petit déjeuner très pauvre
Manque un espace de détente .
Sinon personnel accueillant et agréable

Centro storico ma…

Hotel piacevole in un contesto storico del paese. Disposto su più livelli. Un po’ scomodo raggiungerlo in auto in quanto essendo una zona ZTL non è facile entrare nel varco giusto dove poi i gestori comunicano il vostro accesso per evitare sanzioni. Stanze un po’ spoglie e abbastanza confortevoli.

Caratteristico ma con dei limiti

Adatto alle mezze stagioni, in quanto per usufruire della spa devi uscire all esterno, il riscaldamento sono split a caldo, il parcheggio è a 200 m dal hotel. Punti forti: colazione con ampia scelta, ristorante molto buono ed ambiente caratteristico. Non adatto a chi ha problemi di mobilità.

Dalla giungla al centro di Trani in 100 passi 😁

Posizione ottima a due passi dal porto medioevale in posizione strategica per visitare Trani con facilità.
La stanza è ristrutturata e confortevole con soluzioni davvero originali. Dora e Domenico sono stati efficienti e precisi in ogni passaggio dalla prenotazione all'accoglienza. Consigliato A++

personnel très agréable, accueillant et dévoué dans un lieu riche de culture et d'histoire. Belles prestations toujours égales qualitativement. Le lieu est parfait pour un séjour hébergement unique pour profiter de tous les paysages des Pouilles .

Está en un edificio histórico muy bien conservado y con bonita decoración de época.
Lo malo, no tien parking y en los alrededores solo hay una xalle sin zona azul.
